The information from a Google search indicates the error is generated when connecting to a PC share. So this may be some kind of error generated by the NAS' operating system. In any event I cannot find such an error number associated with OS X so if it is an OS X error number then it's not publicly documented. I would still think Synology's tech support should be able to help you since it is their device. If they sent you here then they're passing the buck.

You could try a Reset as per this excellent Time Machine Guide.
I must be fortunate as I backup to TC from an assortment of Lion and SL MacBooks and iMacs. I do not let TM run auto-backups but do it manually from each system, as required.

TS3694 OSStatus error 2 when trying to set up Time Machine on GoFlex Home Drive.

I had my GoFlex Home network drive set up on Time Machine and it worked fine until I installed Mountain Lion. Now I get the above error when trying to designate my GoFlex drive as the backup on Time machine. The drive is connected and I can browse the contents in Finder.

Mac hung up when trying to connect to time capsule

I was performing the first backup on time capsule - which was very slow and after 24 hours I had to reboot - although the backup was not finished. Now when I try to back up the system hangs up and is unresponsive. The computer works fine until I turn on time capsule. The back up disk image shows up on the desk top, but otherwise the system is slow to the point of taking minutes to acknowledge a mouse click.
From what I read I should have interrupted the backup, but now that I have, how do I delete the file from the time capsule and start over?

I'm trying to connect to a Dynamixel MX-28 and receive the above error when I run my VI.
The COM ports detected by the VI match the ones that I see in Windows 7 Device Manager.
Any other ideas?

LOL I was making fun of the unusual place that NI put the VISA serial config, not being sarcastic about you not finding it. Sorry about that.
The config will go right before your write. If you turn on context help (the little ? in the upper right corner) and mouse over the various things on the block diagram and front panel, you'll see how to use them.
Not really sure about a desing suggestion. An array of position knobs to be indexed accordingly?

This means that your NAS does not support the required encryption. Update your NAS to the latest firmware or ditch it and buy a Time Capsule (they are the most reliable when using TM).
