OSSV realationship

I had ossv running on a windows 2003 box for a few months, then the site admin decided to uninstall the ossv software. Now after re-installing I cannot get the windows machine to snapvault. When I do a snapvault status on the Windows machine there are no destinations defined. I am new to this product and was wondering if this can be easily repaired. BTW we are using DFM.

I am not an expert on OSSV, You can try these steps and see if it helps your situation.The Open Systems SnapVault database consists of a set of files that contain information about the Open Systems SnapVault relationship between a primary and a secondary storage system.OSSV agent database backup file :
The database files for an Open Systems SnapVault relationship on the primary storage system are compressed and backed up as a file named .OSSV_DATABASE_BACKUP. If a file named .OSSV_DATABASE_BACKUP already exists in the directory being backed up, the second and subsequent files to be created follow the naming convention .OSSV_DATABASE_BACKUP_x, where x is an integer used to uniquely identify each file.Restore (OSSV agent database ):
You can restore the database file by using the snapvault restore command; however, you must include the file name .OSSV_DATABASE_BACKUP in the command.
Example:
To restore the database from a secondary storage system called f840 to a directory \temp\database on the primary storage system, enter the following command:D:\Program Files\netapp\snapvault\bin>snapvault restore - S f840:/vol/vol0/rel5/.OSSV_DATABASE_BACKUP D:\temp\database
Resynchronize:

Realationship enterprise service - application/entity service

I read some books about ESA and CAF but I still don't know the relationship between enterprise services in ESA and application and entity services in the Netweaver DevStudio (CAS framework).
Are application/entity services also enterprise services? Or is there a difference?

You can consume SAP Enterprise Services. You can also participate in the definition of the Enterprise Services through the ES Community (see ES Community under Enterprise SOA in SDN) and even create your own Enterprise Services. You can use whatever web development tools you like. In Netweaver Java stack, you can use CAF to implement or develop Application Services (where business logic is coded) leveraging Entity Services taping into your local or remote data model(s). Enterprise Services can be modeled and coded in CAF Application Services but you can use plain J2EE as well. In SAP case, the interfaces for Enterprise Services are defined in XI (input/output/exception). Their implementation happen in the appropriate SAP solutions like ERP where business logic can execute against appropriate data.
Practically CAF Entity Services cannot be called Enterprise Services unless you want to. They just perform basic CRUD (create/read/update/delete) operations on an data object. They're more like utility services. But like Anton's mention of "Private Enterprise Services", what's private remains your own business!

i m not getting that here s1 is object and its assigned to s2 object so both are point to same memory location...but while assinging s2 = "abs" which is same as s1 then its behave like different object y?

But it is also different from s1 in that it refers to a different object. It's the same distinction as you get comparing two $20 notes: they are equal but, since there are two of them they cannot be identical.
With Java reference variables this equal/indentical distinction is represented by equals()/==.
In general each class defines its own equals(). (Much as there will be a legal definition what what counts as being equal to $20.) This realationship is generally what you mean and hence the rule "when comparing objects use equals()".

Manager is not able to Approve the leave

Dear Freinds,
Please help me in solving this below issues.
EE has applied for leave thro ESS. Manager have recd a confirmation from Work flow system . But the same is not reflecting in Manager MSS . Therefore he is not able to approve the same . However, Manager is able to approve the leave for others.
I cheked in PO13 and the realationship and dates are perfect. Can anyone tell me what could be the reason.
IS there any T-code to check the Email communication that both had.

Please check the workflow log in the system using transaction SWI1 for the date on which the EE has applied for leave,
check the Agent assigned for approving the leave by clicking on the Agent button - confirm that this is the same manager.
Also this is assuming that in MSS under the UWL other employees leave requests are visible,
so as to eliminate portal side issues.

Problem with cascade delete and remove bean

I am working with two entity beans that map to two tables that have a foreign key relationship. Table B has a foreign key to A and in the database that foreign key is set for cascaded updates and cascaded deletes.
The problem occurs when the the sytem first tries to remove bean 1 (mapped to table A) and then remove bean 2 (mapped to B) where bean 2 is associated with bean 1 with a foreign key relationship. The first remove works but then when it tries to remove bean 2 it throws a very ugly "CORBA TRANSACTION_ROLLEDBACK 9998" Maybe exception. My guess is that the reason is because bean 2's reocrd in the database was deleted when bean 1 was removed but the 'bean object' was not removed from the container.
When I go into our Application Server and look at how it see's the tables, it show the wrong relationship. It shows a restrict delete and a restrict update realationship.
My question is, am I wrong to think that this is a application server problem or a configuration problem? It seems to me that attempting to remove a non-existant record should not cause an error. It won't cause any SQL exceptions. Is this a flawed viewpoint? As a work around I made sure that the dependent records are deleted first but it kind of defeats the point of cascaded deletes.
We have a limited number of support calls, should I use one or am I at fault here?

DimitarI could do this but it is a huge pain in my ass. The problem is that you might want to remove the dependent bean without removing it's parent. The object structure is a little questionable, I'll admit that. It is, as they say, the eleventh hour and I can't really change that now.
The way this work is that the server gets a list of objects marked either as new, modified, or deleted. It then relates those changes back to the database.
In this case we have two lists(which makes me realize where the class structure sucks.) In order to do what you suggest I would have to get all the deleted parent objects and then search all the deleted child objects for ones that have the parent's key in them.
It would be prefferable to fix the class structure but again this is not an option.
Anyone want to answer the question I asked?

We would like to display the custom IT in the Overview Section of Create Course Run (LSO_PV10) and Change Course Run (LSO_PV1A) screen. User currently can create and edit some standard ITs from this overview section.
Currently, the custom IT has been built and configured to Object Course (E). It can be displayed from PP01 when choosing Object E.
How can we display the custom infotype to the standard Create Course Run (LSO_PV10) / Change Course Run screen (LSO_PV1A) Overview area?

I also faced your problem. I created business event. but when i am checking the business event, but results nil. But system is showing no. for that it is not showing object and relation.
For that i create again object and realationships for that event. Automatically, system overlap that event.
it it is helpful or not, i don't know. If it is helpful , do like that way.

How to enable Enterprise services

Hi guys
started leanring about SOA. We are currently on ECC 6.0 with the latest support packs. Is there anything that needs to be installed for the ESOA / web services to work or do they come as default with ECC 6.0 and higher. Do i need to ask the basis guy to install any thing specifically so that the services are avialable?

UML notation in Class diagram

Hello,
I'd like to model a realationship between, for instance, Customer and
Profile entities in my Class diagram. And I'd like to include class
attributes to communicate better my design. I intend to implement
both entities as Entity EJB. Which of the following options is
correct for presenting a relationship between Customer and Profile in
UML Class diagram:
1) via Customer.profile and Profile.customer

In my database I would implement the relationship using id:long
fields. But with UML diagram presentation I'm not sure because I've
seen different appearences.

diagrams...Of course I have seen huge class diagrams that where really terrible, because people mixed stuff that doesn't belong together. But I never noticed, that UML itself would be the problem. Do you have an example that couldn't conveied apropriate using UML ... and if possible a better way to get the idea across?

Adding a relationship in PPOME

Hi!
When I go into reporting structure in PPOME, select a position and choose assign I get a list of realationships, for example 002. I would like 005 to appear in the list. Does anyone know how to fix this in the IMG? All helpful answers will be appreciated and rewarded.

Hi Magnus,
PPOME is totally configurable. The only thing you can't do is add delivered infotypes to the view (unless they are part of the standard and not active.)
I assume you want to add your relationship to the context menu so you can view the structure. To do this:
Set the following user parameters (they just make it easier to configure PPOME because they allow you to view the framework codes when you access PPOME): OM_ARRAYTYPE_DISPLAY; OM_DIS_OBJECTMANAGER; OM_FRAMEWORK_OBJ_NR; OM_OBJM_SCEN_DISPLAY; OM_TABTYPE_DISPLAY. The value for all of them should be 'X'.
IMG: Personal Management > Organizational Management > Hierarchy Framework > Integrate New Object Type > Display Object Type in Structural Overview > Define Service
You need to do the following:
Definition Service (create a service to show up in the context menu)
Attribute Service (assign your evaluation path for viewing the structure to your service)
Then, for scenario OME0 (you'll now see this in PPOME b/c of your parameters), add your new service.
Then, go to view 'Assign your own request to an object type' and assign this view to object type T.
It's kind of complicated so review the documentation and look at the non-customer tables so you can understand how all the pieces work together.
Most of the config is client independent.
Also, are you sure you want 005? Usually clients use 002 to administer secondary supervisory reporting relationships. Just a consideration.

Lineage relationship for HANA tables is not shown

We are using Information Steward version 14.2.1.220 and we ran Metadata integrator for SAP HANA. We are able to see the impact relationship for the tables but not lineage realationship. Some tables are populated from other tables by calling the procedures. But we are not able to see this lineage relationship.
Can anyone please tell the solution for it?

Bhagyashri,
At this time SAP HANA Metadata Integrator does not parse SQL procedure and so it cannot automatically establish relationship among tables which are populated by those procedures. You can create a user defined relationship to capture the table relationships in this scenario.

Problems during filling of the material which is assigned to REAL_SUBs

During the filling(DGE5) with the materal which is assigned to several real substances(each real substance has a reference to a substance of dangerous goods classification), there is a problem coming out.
When I checked the filling logs, it shows:
" Material 200-270 is assigned to several real substances
Message no. DGA412
Diagnosis
You attempted to fill data records in the dangerous goods master with data from data records in specification management.
However, the material 200-270 is assigned to several real substances.
System Response
The material 200-270 is not filled.
Procedure
Ensure that the material-real substance assignment is unique and start filling again."
