How can I make ost to pst conversion?

Direct conversion from ost to pst file can done by synchronizing Exchange with MS Outlook & then in MS Outlook go to File > Import and Export tab > Export to a File > Create .pst file.
But if server is not available anymore and ost file is orphaned (or old from another sever) then system-based ost converter utility will convert an ost file into pst file.
(it keeps the internal information in correct & original format, repair corrupted segments in ost file & recovers permanently deleted items if required)

  • How do I convert ost to pst in my new laptop

I have ost file from my old laptop, but I can't open it. Try many software - nothing. I was advised download convert programs. How do I convert ost to pst in my new laptop?

There are several methods to convert OST file to PST file.
First, Microsoft does not provide an official tool to do the conversion. However, if you can access the contents of the OST file in your Outlook, then you can perform the conversion manually, as follows:
    1. Start Outlook. Make sure you can access all the contents in the OST file to be converted.
    2. Create a new PST file.
    3. Go to the OST file, select and copy all the contents to be converted with your mouse.
    4. Go back to the new PST file, then paste all the contents into the PST file
    That will do the conversion.
You can also perform the conversion by export the contents of the OST file to a PST file by following the instructions at:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-001/outlook-help/export-outlook-items-to-an-outlook-data-file-pst-HA102534110.aspx
Second, if you can access the Exchange server containing the account data for the OST file, then you can use Export-Mailbox command to export the data into a PST file, similar to convert your OST file into a PST file. Below is the article about doing that:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb266964.aspx
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc535123.aspx
Third, if you cannot access the OST file via Outlook, neither can you access the Exchange Server, then you can refer to Outlook MVPs' website discussing about this issue:
    http://www.slipstick.com/problems/pst-repair/convert-an-exchange-offline-file-ost-to-a-personal-file-pst/
Forth, there are many third-party OST to PST conversion tools you can try, below is a list of them:

Nearly all these tools provide a free trial so you can try first to see if a tool works before purchase it.

  • OST to PST Converter

I wish to convert my ost file to PST. I donnt want to use any thridparty applications. Is there any tool available in any Exchange Versions????

    Hi Kartik,
You can follow the steps given below to manually Export OST to PST:
    1. Launch MS Outlook.
    2. In Outlook, click "File," then "Import and Export Wizard."
    3. Click "Export to a file" and "Next."
    4. Click "Personal Folder File (.PST)" and "Next."
    5. Click "Personal Folders" at the top of the list, then click "Include subfolders." This will export everything in your OST file into a PST file. Click the appropriate categories in the list if you want to export only certain
data such as your contacts. Click "Next."
    6. Click the "Browse" button. Navigate to a folder on your hard drive where you want to store your PST file. Type a file name and hit "Enter." Choose how you wish possible duplicate items to be managed.
    7. Click "Finish."
However, it has been observed that manual migration of OST to PST using above method can cause some data loss, so mostly users prefer using third party OST to PST Converters only as these tools provides secure and risk-free conversion without causing any
modification to the format of original data in OST file whereas manual method can alter the original format. Moreover, third party conversion tools converts OST to PST qickly

  • Thunderbird to PST Conversions

Need to convert thunderbird emails to Outlook PSt format.
    Please help

    Hey Mat,
how about not converting to PST file, but just copy/paste saved emails (.EML files)? Try to follow this:
    Step 1
    Launch Mozilla Thunderbird.
    Step 2
Open the folder with the messages you want to export from Thunderbird.
    Step 3
Select the messages you want to export. Press and hold the "Ctrl" key and click on the emails to select multiple items, or press "Ctrl-A" to select all messages in the folder.
    Step 4
Right-click one of the selected emails and choose "Save As" from the context menu.
    Step 5
Select a folder in which to save the messages as EML files and click "Select Folder" to export the messages.
    Step 6
    Launch Microsoft Outlook 2010.
    Step 7
Right-click the "Outlook" folder and select "New Folder" from the context menu.
    Step 8
Type a name for the new folder in the "Name" box and click "OK" to create the folder.
    Step 9
Select the new folder. It doesn't contain any emails yet, so the middle pane is empty.
    Step 10
Select all the emails that you exported from Thunderbird. As you did before, hold "Ctrl" and click multiple items or press "Ctrl-A" to select all items.
    Step 11
Click and drag the emails to the middle pane of Outlook 2010 to import them into the new folder. The emails will appear in the folder after the import is complete.
Let me know if it works :)

  • How to Convert OST to PST & Restore Microsoft Exchange Orphaned Offline database

This past weekend we lost power for a long duration at our main facility. When power was restored everything started up normally, but on Monday we started to have networking issues. I did some fast troubleshooting, then realized perhaps I should get the original architects of our network involved. They are apparently no longer in business... (great!) So I asked the former IT manager who still works for the company if he had the build data or anything. He did not, and also apparently is clueless about the setups. I noticed the core had unusually high CPU usage. 99% over long durations. My initial trouble shooting started by switching off blades at a time to see if the usage went down... the last blade was the culprit. Unfortunately, it's the blade that connects the other buildings on this site to the network. Slowly enabling 1 interface...

  • How to recover outlook ost error messages?

my outlook ost files does not work what i do? How to access my outlook ost file again any please gives any solutions to easily access and convert ost file into outlook?

First of all, I just wonder what is your meaing of "does not work", whether you can still access the data in the OST file, but get some error messages, or you cannot access the data at all? Based on different cases, you should use different solutions and
will save you a lot of time and money.
Without mor specific information, I have to give out general advices here:

  • How to recover access to OST file if removed Exchange Server

I am just one person and don't want to spend $200 for a OST to PST conversion, to recover a handful of contacts, not emails, that I neglected to archive before removing my Exchange email account.  I have the OST file, and its on the same machine, but
unable to re-add the Exchange Account as the Server is no longer there.
ALL the threads on this are full of 3rd party tool self promotion, that I frankly can't trust.  I can't believe there isn't a sanctioned MSFT approach for this common problem.
    Anyone with an official answer?

    Hi
If you don’t want to purchase third party application, then you can follow manual steps of Microsoft. These steps really work to access OST file without any Exchange
server, but this take lot of time.
There is also some better solution that takes very small time period to recover OST database without spending money. SysTools release its
latest version of freeware OST to PST that convert 25 items per folder. Few feature are mentioned below-
    Advance Scan Mode
     Recover
OST Data (Mails, contacts, journal, to-do list) in tree like structure
     Convert
OST in EML, MSG and PST
    Preview Option
     Selection
    Facility
     Split
    Option
     Naming
    Convention for EML and MSG.

  • Microsoft Exchange 2010 and Outlook 2013

My colleagues computer suddenly crashed yesterday and it wouldn't restart without a system restore.
Now when we try to open up Outlook it says that you must connect to Microsoft Exchange at least once before you can usse your Outlook Data file (.ost)
Also The PC has lost the trust relationship on the domain
We have exchange 2010 and the servers OS is Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2011 and the Client PC is running off of Windows 8.
Can you please help me resolve this issue?
    kind regards
    Steve Bradshaw
    [email protected]

It might be possible that the MAPI key (which enables Outlook to synchronize with Exchange) has been deleted due to the System crash. So, in order to establish the connection, you need to Reconnect the OST file to the original MAPI profile and then reconnect
then MAPI profile to Exchange Server.
If the above method fails to resolve the issue, then the best option for you would be to take the help of any professional OST to PST Conversion Software, which will help you to Extract data from your OST file and convert it to PST file which you can import
back to your Outlook to establish the connection with Exchange Server again.

  • Sudden Server Infrastructure Licensing errors SBS 2011 Standard install (10 months old)

The following errors began about a month ago and I can't figure out how to fix it.  I especially don't like that it states the server will be shut down in 22 days.  When I rebooted the server last week the problem went away for exactly 24 hours
then came back and seems to report every 4 hours.
    Background:
Fresh SBS 2011 install last Dec. 7th (2012).
We did have an SBS 2003 server but it was never on the same network.  We simply backed up the data off of its data drive.  Exchange was backed up via OST to PST conversion then imported in.  Only 10 - 12 users.
HP ProLiant server and the SBS 2011 DVDs were OEM supplied by HP but we installed NOT pre-installed.
