OSX 10.6.8 issues with hp photosmart D110

I used to be able to print and scan from my iMac running 10.6.8 to the hp photosmart d110. Now, it doesn't show up as a bonjour device. When I ping it, I get access denied. Still air prints from iPhone and iPad. Works with win 7 machine. Any ideas why this happened?solutions appreciated.

Thanks for the post. With this one, have you changed/replaced routers recently? Moved it to another location? Since you can Airprint sucessfully, I don't suspect it is a hardware wireless radio issue. Trouble printing USPS labels from E-Bay with HP Photosmart D110

I am having trouble printing shipping labels (USPS) from E-Bay with HP Photosmart D110. I was able to print for a short while after I bought it, but I tried later and the printer freezes up. It will show printing, but will freeze up until you x out. I am using Windows XP on a 6yr old Toshiba Satellite laptop. I have downloaded the HP utility that troubleshoots some printer problems, and it will fix the problem sometimes. I also have went in and turned printer spooling off, then back on. This has helped a few times. It takes me on the average, 40min to get one label to print. I am a seller on E-Bay and print labels daily. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

The envelope size that you might be talking about is a 6.75 Regular, or 6.75R. If you were printing on window envelopes, it would be 6.75W. In all my life, I have never heard of a #6 ep. Yes, you have a challenge with 6.75 because the rollers are not in the correct place for this size of item. In order for me to print 10R envelopes, I have to insert a precut sheet of paper inside the envelope so that the envelope pulls correctly and doesn't get jammed. You might try this with your 6.75 and see if that works for you.

Illustrator CS5/CS6 on OSX 10.9.1 - Issue with loading fonts.

I'm using Illustrator CS6 on OSX 10.9.1. Ever since I've upgraded to OSX Mavericks, Illustrator has stopped loading some of the document fonts even though they are enabled and available for other applications. I get the font missing dialog every time I open the artboard after a system restart. I usually resolve this by opening the Font Book app, disabling and re-enabling the fonts. This refreshes the artboard and the fonts then appear to work as normal. Initially, I suspected a compatability issue with Illustrator CS5 and OSX Mavericks, but after upgrading to CS6, I continue to have the same issue. The fonts in question are ttfs and these worked fine previously.
How can I fix this?

The report on my printer Photosmart D110 shows I am connected but my MAC says printer not connected? It was working last week - What happened?

Cdero, welcome to the forum. Try printing a network configuration page. Follow these steps to print a configuration page.
Touch the button ( ) next to the Setup icon ( ) in the lower-left corner of the HP product control panel. The Setup menu opens.
Touch the Right Arrow button ( ) to scroll through the options and select Wireless , and then touch OK . The Wireless menu opens.
Touch the Right Arrow button ( ) to scroll through the options and select Wireless Settings , and then touch OK . The Wireless Settings menu opens.
Touch the Right Arrow button ( ) to scroll through the options and select Print Network Configuration Page , and then touch OK .
Let me know if the printer has an IP address. Should be in this format: 123.456.789

Extremely slow printing with hp photosmart d110

Recently, I've had extremely slow wireless printing from my laptop to our HP Photosmart D110 series printer. The printer is part of our wireless network and is used by my business laptop and our home laptop. When I send a simple Excel spreadsheet to print, the printer screen says, "Printing", the on/off light flashes and it looks like it's printing. But it takes 1-2 minutes for the document to finally print. This problem does not occur when we print from the home laptop; things print instantly. No updates or system changes before this problem started.

1-2 minutes! Try 10-15 minutes on my Photosmart. These things are junk. I have discussed my many issues with phone support 10-12 times in the last six months with no progress.

Issue with HP Photosmart 5520 and Windows XP laptop

Was hoping for some help.
I have a HP Photosmart 5520 which is setup correctly on my wireless network has been working for some time.
There are a few laptops on the network that can print to it fine, including my Asus, which is running Windows 7.
At this moment in time, my housemates laptop, a HP running Windows XP is unable to connect to the printer. It was working fine however after a virus and malware scan discovered heaps of malicious software, which was removed, the laptop was unable to print. It still had the printer as listed but it seems the actual print job wasn't being sent to the printer.
As mentioned earlier, I am still able to print fine from this laptop.
From here I have removed the printer from the HP laptop, along with the software. This was so I could attempt to reinstall the printer on the laptop. Now, when I try to reintall the printer, upon selecting the Wireless option it doesn't appear to be able to find the printer. This printer is setup on a static IP, so I've typed in the IP and it still appears that the laptop just can not find the printer.
I have attempted everything but nothing seems to want to work. I know XP is a dead operating system but the house mate has no choice but to use it for now.
Is there any suggestions? I don't know if it's the printer or the laptop.

I see by your post that you are able to find the printer over the wireless network on the Windows XP computer.
I can help you with this issue today.
Install the printer as a USB connection on the Windows XP to get the software fully installed.
Then setup the wireless by going to start, all programs, HP, select the printer, select Printer Setup & Software Selection,
select Convert a USB connected printer to wireless. Follow the steps to finish setting up the wireless connection.

Upgraded to Mac OSX Lion, have an issue with Flash Builder 4.5.1 and Flex SDK 3.2

Howdy, I upgraded my mac yesterday to 10.7, and have run into an interesting problem.
I was using Flex Builder 3 before, using Flex SDK 3.2. After upgrading, I found that Flex Builder 3 is not compatible with Lion anymore, so I had to upgrade to Flash Builder 4.5.
This is fine, I just figured I would add the Flex 3.2 sdk, which I did. However, after adding my project to the workbench for Flash Builder 4.5, I see the following error:

However, as far as I can tell, the following two screenshots mean I have installed the Flex 3.2 sdk:

Weird issue with HP Photosmart and HPLIP 3.9.10

I have a wireless printer, HP C6380. This printer is correctly installed in both my laptop and my desktop, both running arch64, KDE4, with latest updates. However, the driver on my desktop displays a maximum resolution of 600x600, while my laptop correctly displays a maximum resolution of 1200x1200 Any clues?

Actually, I couldn't print from my laptop, so I reinstalled latest hplip and had the same issue: no 1200dpi option. However, I downgraded hplip to version 3.9.8 and the option for 1200dpi appeared again, so something is wrong with version 3.9.10. I have also posted the issue in hplips forums.

Compatible Ink Cartridge Issue with HP Photosmart 6520

I bought a HP Photosmart 6520 Printer when living in Germany. It works in the US as well with a change to the cable. But then I ran out of ink. I ordered proper HP ink for it (not fake) but I ordered 564XL, because it said it was compatible with the 6520. But my printer says it's not. It looks identical to the one I had in, but those were 364XL. And I see that on the inside door of my printer, it says 364XL.Did I make a mistake? Why is it listed to work with this printer but it doesn't? Can I return INK that I've opened up, but not used?Please help.Thanks

Can't scan APE v 12 with HP Photosmart D110 on Windows 7

Using PSE v 12 on Windows 7 system.
Scanning through Organizer I get an error and nothing scans. Scans fine with Editor.
Nothing was imported. The file(s) or folder(s) selected to import did not contain any supported file types, or the files are already in this Catalog.
The file already exists in the catalog

Scans fine with the HP Print Driver.
I *have* scanned before and am not sure why it won't, now.

I spent well over 2 hours on chat with the question. Spread over 2 calls. Chatted with two front line techs and one supervisor. As I don't know much about this whole thing we did touch on the Backup....
But I solved this myself.
If the error says "file in catalog already" think about 2 things, the file and the catalog.
In this case, I did a search for the file name, found the file and it was one I had deleted, but apparently not from the catalog. Thought I had. Once I deleted it, the troubles were gone in a flash.
Pity tech support didn't give this course of action any effort at all.

I understand you're having an issue with your Photosmart D110 printer not printing properly. I'm sorry to hear this has been happening to you but will certainly do my best to assist you.
The first thing I would recommend doing is checking the ink levels on your printer. If anything is low or close to low I would recommend changing it.
If the problem persists after changing the ink or you ink levels are all full (or at least not close to empty) you may need to try some more in depth steps and that involve cleaning and checking print settings.

HP Photosmart D110 scanner doesn't work

Hello,
I recently noticed that my HP Photosmart D110 printer/scanner won't scan.
I've reinstalled the printer on my HP computer and replaced the driver software from the original installation disk.
Still, no scanning.
An error message keeps coming up about the "device" not being fully installed.
The Photosmart printer/scanner is accessed through my network modem.
All the computers in the house can print but no scanning is possible at this time.
Any solutions or suggestions would be appreciated.

Hey there and welcome to the community, @hpod1
I read about the issue you're having with scanning with your Photosmart D110 model and all of your computers.
Seeing that you cannot scan with any of your computers is concerning and would present the idea of a hardware problem within the printer.
I would suggest trying to make a copy or two and let me know what happens.
If copies do not work, try power resetting the printer:
Press the Power button to turn on the product.
With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.
If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.

Photosmart D110 series - scan not saving to PDF!!

I'm not able to save my scan to PDF format or even JPEG preview. I am using a Macbook Pro, OS is Maverick. When I try to save to PDF using the drop down menu, I get an error message saying, "error has orrcured saving the file bcause it could not be written to...". I've read the other support blogs and tried updating the software, etc and it still doesn't work. The version of HP Scan is 2.4.1. This is really frustrating! Help please! : )

I'm sorry to hear you've had issues scanning with HP Scan on your 10.9 system but I believe I know what's causing the issue and would be happy to help out
With your Photosmart D110, there is no HP software package for the 10.9 Mavericks operating system, meaning that the version of HP Scan you're using is not compatible, thus causing issues. I would recommend that you follow this Uninstalling the Printer Software document to get the software removed and then I will suggest that you follow this OS X v10.9 Mavericks: Installing and Using the Printer on a Mac document to get the printer installed via the Apple Updates.
Once that is completed, you can then follow this How to Scan: OS X v10.9 document to see the different scanning methods available without the HP software package.

VPP Distribution issues with OSX Server Profile Manager

Hi, I have a new issue with my OSX 10.9.5 Server. I use VPP to distribute apps to users devices, when I would add a new user I would send them an invitation message through /profilemanager . All was working well until recenetly , the message still arrives in the users mailbox however when you click the "sign in" link on the "receive apps and books from xxxxx" email instead of opening through the Mac App store app it now opens Safari and connects to the profile manager server , any ideas ? it never has done this before and although I thought it was a new feature or method I can not seem to resolve the issue.

Hi if when you are redirected back to your Mac Server you enter the user name and password of the user you are trying to receive VPP apps for i.e the Open Directory credentials it will then open the App Store providing the credentials are correctly entered so it looks like an additional layer of security. The process is click on the link in the VPP invite email, this takes you to your Mac Server profile manager, log on with your OD account, App store then opens on your Mac like it used to.

I also try to install Java SE runtime but half way through the Software Update it says cant download software because of network problem but I'm connected to the internet and i can browse stuff just fine. Can any one help with my problems. P.S. I don't know the administrator password or stuff like that. And yes we are allowed to play games and stuff on these laptops but only at home not at school so don't tell me i need to focus on school and not games.

Since you updated the operating system, it is probably Minecraft is missing certain files that ware remove or are not longer comparable with the new version of the OSX. what I recommend, is to check is there is an update for Minecraft and install that. If there is not update available, probably the best thing will be reinstalling Minecraft. Hope this will help you.
