[OSX 10.8.2] Birthdays in Calendar - 1 Day Off

Just downloaded Mountain Lion 10.8.2 and sync'd my Facebook contacts with my Mac contacts. The birthday calendar shows that a number of birthdays are one day off. How do I fix this?

It seems that when no birth year is specified, birthdays are pushed 1 day ahead.
Any solution out there?

Google calendar one day off for reocurring appts

I have an appt that repeats every third day and for some reason when my Goole calender synchs to my Pre it shows the appt one day off of what it supposed to be on the phone. The appt show correctly on Google but not my Pre. For exapmle if the appt is is on the 25th it show as the 24th on my pre and then every third day after that throwing the dates way off. Is this happend to anyone else?? Is there a fix??

I guess you havethe same problem as me... Check if the calendar you are talking about has a different time zone then your Pre... There is an annoying bug where recurring appointments in calendars that have a timezone before your pre get moved one day... sadly noone seems to be willing to address my bug report...

I create a birthday calendar in iCal and then click on it in iphoto at the begining of the calendar project each year. Some how the birthday did not populate the photo calendar. Is there a way to add the birthday iCal calendar into the calendar project?

If you first select the calendar on the left, so that its background is highlighted blue/grey, when you make a new events they should be added to that calendar.

How to hide birthdays in Calendar except important ones ?

Is it possible to hide most birthdays in Calendar, except a few, i.e., those of the VIP's, for instance, the spouse? ;-)
I don't want to delete all the birthdays from AdressBook, but I'd like to see in Calendar only those that are really important.
And, if possible, I'd like to get a reminder only for those.
All hints and pointers will be highly appreciated.

No, I meant disable the built-in Birthdays calendar and create your own. There is a preference to display the Birthdays calendar. Turn it off, create a new calendar, and add all the Birthdays you want to know about.

I want to modfy Birthday subscription calendar to include custom events that appear in my Contacts. Is there a way to do this?
Or how can I create a new subscription calendar to be published in my iCloud acct pulling the custom events from Contacts?

You have some contacts with more than one birthday?
To add a custom label for a date, select Edit for an existing contact. Select Add Field. Select Date. Scroll up with the Info window above the date selection and select Other for the new date selection. Select Add Custom Label and then select this label for the new date field for the contact.
As far as linking dates with multiple contacts, the answer is no to that.

It is probably related to your calendar syncing with certain services and/or apps that end up duplicating the entries. Investigate your sync settings like iCloud, facebook, etc or apps like Cobook which can sync your contacts/to facebook and gmail contacts. The birthdays for all of those would then show up in ical. If there is some kind of redundancy happening it might even resync the same info from the same place multiple times. If you can zero in on a particular service or app that might be the cause, try temporarily unsyncing it to ical/address book and see what happens.

I must be an idiot because I cannot figure out how to do it. I have googled it and any direction I don't have the same options. Can someone help me out?

Open the calendar, then hit the menu key. Select More, and then Calendars. Uncheck Facebook.

found a solution on a fluke. the 1-day-off problem only happens to existing birthdays. i put in my sister-in-law's birthday today as a new birthday entry and it came up correct.
so i went to a contact with an existing birthday entry, and selected:
'edit' -> 'birthday' -> a different date/month/year -> back to the correct date/month/year -> 'done'.
and voila... it worked. now to start working on my other contacts.

IOS5.1 Exchange sync - birthdays not shown in Day view

Sync'd with Exchange using Outlook 2010 - Sorry, I don't know what the server version of Exchange is.
Outlook shows birthdays in my calendar, as having start and end as 12am, on the same day, correct recurrence patterns, etc.
If I look in iPhone Calendar, 'Day View', nothing is shown.
If I look in iPhone Calendar, 'List View', I can see them.
I generally live in 'Day View', I expect the birthdays to show up.
What can I do, if anything, to make the birthdays show up in 'Day view'?
Assistance greatly appreciated.

Calendar -> Day View - Move to a day that has birthdays (2 days ago or tomorrow), scroll down to the bottom, nothing. Attempt scrolling past top and bottom to no effect.
Calendar -> List View - Birthdays visible
Calendar -> Month View - Birthdays visible underneath the calendar

Has anyone had a problem with the calendar being one day off this year

the birthdays in my contacts list is shown in my calendar. However, they are showing up on the calendar one day earlier than the actual birthday. I assume it's because of leap year. I'm surprised that I haven't heard of a fix for this. Thoughts?

I don't have to be doing anything or be anywhere near the computer.
The machine feels warm but i don't know if thats normal or not.

Contact-Exchange sync. Birthdays shift by one day.

I've just copied all my contacts over from (Address Book on my desktop iMac) to (Contacts on Exchange Server) so that I can sync everything with my new iPod touch.
I noticed that the calendar.app on the iPod touch was showing birthdays a day after iCal on my iMac.
When checking the Contacts.app on the iPod, it seems that the Info for my contacts has had the birthdays shifted by a day. Outlook 2007 running on my iMac shows the correct dates have arrived on the Exchange Server.
Does anyone know what's going on and how to fix it?

Ok, I have had the same issues with birthdays and just realized something. On my Iphone 4s- When I deleted and entered the birthdays again but using the CURRENT year not the year they were born it worked fine, so I went and did a couple with the year they were born and sure enough, off a day. So I think that the year is what messes it up. Its not like it calculates how old they are so no need to have the specific birth year in there. Hope this helps.

I used to have a Nokia E51 and the one thing that I loved about that phone that really kept me organized was that on the home screen// (the desktop) would list all of the events in my calendar for that day. By having this kinda thing displayed on the desktop of the phone, in a way that i wouldn't have to open an application, would be extremely useful. that way I would know my entire day, or at least the next 4-5 events, in the matter of seconds.
I'd really like to see this on the next update..

12:30 - Lunch
2:45 - Meeting /w joe
3:30 - train leaves
5:00 - etc...

Go into Settings...Mail, Calendar and Contacts and siwtch off the Contacts section from the account in question.
The phone should ask you if you want to keep or erase the contacts stored on you phone.
However, if they aren't synched to anything and only exist on your iPhone, you'll have to delete them all one by one

HT203521 In iOS8 I can't turn off shared iCloud calendar alerts. I share iCloud calendars with 3 others and am constantly getting their alarms for upcoming appointments. Settings- Notifications- Calendar- Shared Calendar Changes turns off changes only.

Have had new iPhone 6 for 2 months, using iOS 8. I share iCloud calendars with 3 others and I am getting bombarded with their upcoming appointment alerts. There seems no way to turn this off. I went to Settings->Notifications->INCLUDE(Calendar)->Shared Calendar Changes and turned everything off, but this only blocks alerts about new events or changes to events being added to the calendars, it does not block the 5-minute/10-minute/etc. alarms that go off immediately in advance of the appointment. There used to be a setting in iOS7 in "Mail, Contacts, and Calendars" way at the bottom to turn off alarms from shared calendars, but I don't see that in iOS8. Any ideas?

Finally figured this out when I read jodiemcneill 's post about Google calendars. Thanks!
Reposting the basic idea: to turn off event alerts from shared ICloud calendars, select the Calendar App, then click the "info" (i.e., the circled red 'i') icon next to the shared iCloud calendar to be silenced. Go down to "Notifications" and turn the slider off for "Event Alerts: (Allow events on this calendar to display alerts.)"
For good measure, you can also turn off the slider for "Show Changes" to prevent the calendar from displaying messages when shared events are added/modified/deleted, although this can be done "globally" for all shared iCloud Calendars in Settings->Notifications->Calendar->Invitations (turn off all sliders, click "none" for Alert Style).
This has been a major pain in the ... neck ... for the past 3 months. So glad to start the new year with a suddnely-much-quieter iPhone 6.
