OSX 10.9: Error -43 when trying to Trash Pages document

OSX 10.9: Pages 5.0 -43 Error code
I opened a Pages document created in Mt Lion, made some changes and “Save As” it back to my desktop. When put the old file int the Trash and tried to Empty Trash, I kept getting this error message:
“The operationCan’t be completed because
one or more required items can’t be found.
(Error code -43)”
I tired using the Option key (then Command and Control keys just because) with no success. I also tried renaming the document and compressing it with the same results. I eventually got it to go away by moving from my MacBook to Dropbox and deleting it using my iPhone. That worked.
Is there a fix in the works for this problem, or must I just trash Pages 5 like noted in Support Resources?

Hello all. The file that I tried to delete was actually a folder. And, this seemed to happen after I had used Time Machine (I don't use Time Machine usually, prefer CCC) for the first time with 10.9. Perhaps try turning off Time Machine, restart, and see is that helps. And, I also had no relevant applications open (except Finder) and checked that through the Activity Monitor. Also - perhaps when you restart make sure that the "Reopen" etc checkbox is unticked when restarting.

I know man what your saying. I should have written it down when it happened last night. I figured if anyone had had the same issue they might know the reason. Error message when trying to salve pages or numbers documents

All of a sudden i get the following message when trying to save newly created pages or numbers documents into my documents folder
"The file “Untitled.numbers-tef” couldn’t be opened". THis is for doocuments created from scratch.
Can anyone please help?
I'm relatively new to new to the iMac and OS so not sure if something has been set up incorrectly - but it's been working OK for approx 3 months.
Any help greatly appreciated.

I spoke too soon. I began a new movie and imported
photo clips, which rendered just fine. However, I
can drag transitions in between the photos, but they
simply will not render. Everything was just swell
until yesterday afternoon when I changed the length
of the clips so that there would be enough room for
the transition. I tried to do multiple clips at the
same time, but they never rendered. It was then when
I was unable to add any more transitions.
Aha! That may be different problem. There's a bug in iMovie that makes it impossible to update image clips after you empty the iMovie trash. If you imported the image with the Ken Burns checkbox ON, the bug can affect you later.
It's possible, I suppose, that this bug not only prevented you from updating the clips to a new duration, but made it impossible to add the transition to the clips.
After importing your images with the Ken Burns checkbox on, you might try dragging the source image out of the iMovie trash, described here:

Error message when trying to open pages

I'm having trouble opening new or existing documents using pages. I get the error message, "pages cannot be opened because of a problem. Check with the developer to make sure pages works with this version of Mac OS x. I've never had this problem before and it's been working since I purchased my IMAC back in 2010. Other programs for Iwork are working fine..Numbers 09 and Keynote 09. I tried reinstalling the software several times, restarting my computer and still no luck.. Any suggestions?

You didn't save the iWork trial.dmg somewhere by any chance?
You have not move enough parts of iWork over to the new computer. There are files in
Users > your name > Library > Application support > iWork. Get the iWork folder
MacHD > Library > Application Support > iWork '09. Get the folder
To get into the users Library you have to on Mountain Lion in the Finder click on Go in the menu while pressing down the Option key.

Hello CDCisME2. I understand you're having some trouble saving a Word file.
Where did this file come from? Is it store on a server such as for your work or school?
Try using the "Save as" function instead of the normal save function. In the top-left of the window you should have a blue button that says "File." Select this and then you should see "Save as." Use this to save the file to an alternate location.
If these instructions don't make any sense then let me know. I am using Microsoft Word 2013 and the instructions could be different for different versions.

Getting Error 404 when trying to open php documents in DW CS3 Test server

I am new to DW, php, MySQL and Apache. I have set up a test
environment but obviously have done something wrong. I currently
create my web pages from scratch in notepad and update my site with
a GUI FTP program, but I know with these new tools, I will
eventually be able to create the type of web site that I really
want and need. Every time I try to open any php document in DW CS3
using the"Preview/Debug in browser" button I get an error 404. The
browsers I use are ie7.0.5730.11 and Nav 9.0b2 . I know this may
not even be a DW issue, but I really am at an impasse. Any help
would be much appreciated.

Pages gives an error, 'Cannot read file' , when trying to open pages document

I recently deleted a pages file. I recovered it using disk drill and now Pages refuses to open it. It gives me an error that it cant read the file. The file size is exactly the same as i had created earlier. Please help me out on this. This is a very important essay and i spent weeks tyiping it. Why pages sometimes tells me : "an unknown error occurred" when trying to export a document into .docx or .pdf ?

Since I've done the 5.0 update for Pages (and also with 5.1 and 5.2), I sometimes don't manage to export my documents into .docx or .pdf files. I get a message telling: "an unknown error occured", and the file isn't converted. Could someone help me ?

Other than using the version that works, as VikingOS suggests, look for any distinguishing features or objects that may be common amongst the files that won't convert. Particularly Tables which seem to experience the most problems.
We have had a number of reports of this by other users and not been able to finger exactly what is the cause.
Pages 5.2 has quite a few problems with exporting and this is just another.

I updated everything and I just got this message. It will open a newer one page site though so it must be something to do with the file and update.

I have an iPad 3 and when trying to print Pages documents from EpsoniPrint there is a border, how can I get it to print normal without sending it to my Mac?

I have both quickoffice and pages on my iPad, and when I try to print from either of those through EpsoniPrint they don't print "normal". And pages prints with a border around it. How can I adjust that or is there a better app for printing via wireless? I have an epson 510, so it's wireless capable but not AirPrint.

The error was coming fro OAM which is the authentication system for BeehiveOnline. I suspect but cannot confirm that you have a cookie in the browser that has a different identity from the one you need - maybe you have logged into another OAM OIDin another system.
If you clear cache in your browser or use a different one I think the problem will go away. If you are unsure how to clear cookies you could go to one of the websites like otn.oracle.com and log out of your account - that will flush out the authentication cookies.

Well I solved my problem.
What still doesn't make sense though is that dragging iTune audio files directly on to the iTunes application icon gave me the error message... which is why I originally discounted it as being a potential link problem. If I had been able to get files to open normally (i.e. without an error message) I would have known it was a simple link problem. Strange.
Anyway... relinking my folder of audio files did the trick.
If you don't already know how here are the steps...
iTunes > Preferences > Advanced > click on the "Change" button and browse to the folder that contains all of your iTunes audio files... that's it.

I'm having a similar problem. Using software update, iTunes 8.2 begins to download. It gets to about 41 megabytes and then times out. I get various error messages including that I'm not connected to the internet, and the directory didn't have the right permissions, etc.
I don't really use iTunes that much, but I use my iPhone ALL the time and would like to upgrade my iPhone software. Unfortunately, I have to have iTunes 8.2 to do that.
Is anyone from Apple listening?? There seem to be multiple posts about this problem. This is a very un-Mac-like problem.

As a registered developer which should be the only way you have access to the iTunes and iOS BETA, you have access to direct communication with the appropriate Apple personnel and/or access to the Apple forums for registered developers.
