OSX 10.9 Mavericks breaks Cisco VUSB

I can`t install Cisco VUSB in OSX 10.9 Mavericks. Error message: "The following installation step failed: run postinstall script for Cisco VUSB Installer˜. I have E4200 router and my firmware version is 2.1.39.145204. Anybody have this trouble too?

After I updated to OS X 10.9 Mavericks, I could no longer use Cisco Connect or reset or get into the "Wireless" functions from the User Interface (UI).  I reset the router then could no longer access the UI at all.
After 6 hours dealing with Customer support , Cisco finally acknowledged that I have a defective router and are finally willing to process an RMA.  However, they will only replace my newly purchased router (less than 3 weeks old) with a Refurbished one.  I don't need another defective router that someone else had a problem with.  They also acknowledged that they DO NOT have a fix for the Cisco Connect utilities or an update if you are using OS X 10.9 Mavericks.
If you are a Mac user and intend on updating to OS X 10.9 Mavericks from a previous OS X, DO NOT PURCHASE ANY CISCO ROUTER PRODUCT.  You will not be able to use the Cisco Connect utilities.
Cisco has lost a loyal customer and I have returned this piece of junk and bought an N600 NETGEAR Router that works flawlessly with OS X 10.9 Mavericks.  Don't waste your money on a Cisco product.  Their Live Chat and Phone support stinks!

  • About Cisco VUSB in OSX 10.9

I have purchased the EA6700. Unfortunately, I installed the ‘Cisco VUSB’ after the OS updated to OSX 10.9 from OSX 10.8. It could't be installed successfully and the error message was ‘run postinstall script for Cisco VUSB Installer’ at the end of installation. ‘Connection failed’ as I try to make contact with my HP printer. But on Microsoft Windows 7, it works without any problem.
May Linksys release a new version of Cisco VUSB A.S.A.P. to solve the problem. Is there any one who meet the same situation. Post your issue.

Were you able to able to detect the printer but still unable to connect? Please try to make sure that the printer will work fine when wired directly to the Mac OS 10.9 Mavericks. The printer drivers should be installed on the Mac OS 10.9 Mavericks as well and be able to print without having any issues. Linksys product engineers should be working their way 24/7 just to have an updated CVUSB.

  • Support for OSX 10.9 (Mavericks)?

    Hi,
I gather that InCopy supports 10.6.8, 10.7 and 10.8. Is there any planned support for the new OSX 10.9 (Mavericks)?
InDesign already supports 10.9, so hopefully InCopy will also support it!
    Regards,
    Srijith

Thanks for the response. I am using CS6 (8.0.2). When I try to click on the icma files to open, I get a popup - Cannot open filename.icma   If I drag and drop the file into an open InCopy window I get the popup
What could be going wrong? Would uninstall-install do any good?

  • Export Error in LR 5.2 since update to OSX 10.9 Maverick!!

    Hi all
i have a real problem with LR 5.2 since update to OSX 10.9. the Export function crash with a error. "Unable to Export"
This Error only occurs when i choose the Function: Export to: Choose folder later (useful for presets)
The same error occusrs when i choose the function "Open Catalog"
Always when LR call the Finder from OSX 10.9 the Function in LR crash.
under OSX 10.8.5, it never was a problem.
please i need help because without the export and the open catalog function LR is useless.
    thanks for tipps an help
    Cheers Tinu2808
MacBook Pro Retina 15" with 8GB Ram and 256 GB SSD OSX 10.9 Maverick, LR5.2

Okay .. after EVERYTHING was working WELL I made the mistake of taking an ADOBE UPDATE to my Photoshop CC.  Directly following THAT update (from ADOBE) both LR and PS fail as before.   Since ONLY Adobe made changes to my computer, how can Apple be the culprit?  As a matter of fact, even though my coverflow is NOT on, both LR and PS open their diaglogs in that view and I am unable to change that.  Certainly my Adobe programs are revealing this issue.  It sounds from your note above that Adobe is just treating it like an Apple issue.
Fortunately I did take a Time Machine backup BEFORE installing the Adobe updates so I can roll back.
    UPDATE:
I opened InDesign and the open dialog opened in CoverFlow and failed.  The next time I used the open dialog I quickly changed the view to details (InDesign runs a little slower so I was able to do that).  Once I had changed the view, no problems .. all fixed (in InDesign)
Since I had successfully changed the view from CF to details in InDesign, I figured "maybe" all the adobe programs would recognize the change.  I then successfully opened Photoshop, which now opens with the details view and is successful.
At least I know HOW to make it work if it gets messed up again .. which happens whenever I update an Adobe program.
My finder was in DETAIL view before and after my updates.
The ONLY place where coverflow showed up was in the Adobe programs.

  • How do I Import Mail Contacts from MS Outlook to Mac Mail? MacMini OSX 10.9 Mavericks

Hi I am using OSX 10.9 Mavericks.  I have been trying to export my People Contcts list from MS Outlook to Mac Mail, can anyone help? Thanks

    Ed,
the simplest solution is to convert your Outlook PST file to standard mbox files using Thunderbird - TB on the PC imports Outlook data just fine and - unlike the other proposed solution - is free. When you install TB on your PC for the first time, it will ask you to import your Outlook data.
Once you have all your mail messages in mbox format, you can import them into Mail. However, instead of using Mail's "Import" feature to do so, I would propose you use Eudora Mailbox Cleaner for this - the program can also import TB mailboxes to Apple Mail and will preserve all your message status flags (read, replied, ...):

  • OSX 10.9 (Mavericks) Software Update redirects to App Store

Hi folks - I just updated to OSX 10.9 (Mavericks) from OSX 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) yesterday. I have had to update some incompatible programs but otherwise it seems to be working smoothly so far.
I have updated the iWork programs and Garageband using the App Store successfully. My iLife '09 programs (iMovie and iPhoto) need a paid update which I will get around to.
My question is whether in the future it will be possible to download stand-alone update installers for deployment among different machines like I used to, or whether I will have to update each machine individually using wi-fi.
    Thanks for reading.

The apps are only temporarily placed while downloading at:
    ~/Library/Application Support/AppStore
    Once downloaded, they're moved to:
    /Applications
That means you can't really save the installers, unless they apps are in a format like the OS X installer.

  • HP Premium C310a Printer/Scanner - OSX 10.9 Maverick Problems......

I own a HP Photosmart Premium All-in-one C310a Printer/scanner which has the ability to print wirelessly and also e-print.
I used to operate on OSX Mountain Lion (MAC) before I decided to stupidly upgrade to OSX 10.9 (Maverick)
Ever since I have done that, I have lost the ability to scan and print from my HP Utility.
I have updated all my software as per the Driver/Support page of HP and also did a software update on my apple Mac but still I am having no success in being able to print wirelessly from my desktop to my printer as I could previously?
I am able to print fine from my iphone to my printer and if I connect my desktop mac via USB cable, the print works fine as well, which leads me to believe that there is nothing wrong with the printer itself?
If I continue to use the USB cable with my desktop and printer, i will lose the ability to print wirelessly which is something I use often.
Anyone have any suggestions or solutions to my problem besides waiting for an updated driver from HP?

    Hi Enz
I understand you are unable to print over the wireless network on the Maverick.
I would uninstall the old printer software.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02259020&tmp_task=useCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=e...
Then reinstall the printer again by running the Apple Updates.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03967522&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&os=4159&product=423...
When you add the printer check to see if it added the printer driver name or the airprint driver.
Try one if that doesn't work delete and add the other one in.
Print out a configuration page and make sure the ip address and network name are valid.

If you require further assistance please provide the following so I can assist you
    better.
When trying to add the printer does it see it?
What is the IP address? (just the first 3 digits)
Does it show proper network name?

  • Trying to download the Cisco VUSB

Please give a direct link to download ciscovusb.zip. I have 502 bad gateway when trying to download it from 192.168.1.1

There’s no other place where you can download the Cisco VUSB software but on the Linksys Smart Wifi page only. If you are getting that 502 bad gateway error upon accessing the page, you can try to reset the router (push and hold the reset button using a pin or a paper clip for 30 seconds and power it off for another 30 second; wait for the power light to be solid) and reconfigure the settings of the router. Once you are able to re-associate your router to your Linksys Smart Wifi account, try to connect your printer again via VUSB software. For instructions, you may refer to these links: Connecting a USB printer through the Cisco VUSB software on a Windows-based computer and Connecting a USB printer through the Cisco VUSB software on a Mac® computer.

  • Problems scanning HP PHOTOSMART 5520 with OSX 10.9 Mavericks

    Hi,
I have recently download OS 10.9 Mavericks. And now HP PHOTOSMART 5520 SCAN is not working properly. In fact I cannot scan. I use the printer by wifi.
Do we need drivers for OSX 10.9 Mavericks?
    Alberto Bermejo

I should be more clear. Scanning with HP Scan, I can scan and see a preview. I can save the file ONCE but the image or docuement is garbled when I open the saved file. If I try to save again using a different format (and a different name), I get the error:
"An error has occured saving the file because it could not be written to. Check the proerties for the file to make sure it is not read-only."

  • Cisco VUSB - Feature Suggestions (and some Questions)

    Hello,
I am using Cisco VUSB with my EA4500 (N900) Wireless Router for my (Samsung ML-1915) USB printer.  It appears that I've had no issues with install and configuration with this on both my Windows 7 Gaming PC and my OS 10.8 MacBook Air.  But I've noticed a few things I would like to recommend as features to add.  Some of these are also questions, that I couldn't find the option/feature for... if so, please let me know where it is (if available).
    - (OS X specific) Allow the application to run as a Menu Bar Extra (similar to DropBox and others).  No need to take up space in my Dock when it's always supposed to be running... having it always active and easily accessible from the Menu Bar would be perfect.
    - If I start a print job from within an applicaton, will it automatically try to conenct to the printer via VUSB?  Or do I always need to open VUSB app and manually connect to the printer before starting the print job?  Could this become automated?
    - I noticed if one computer is connected via VUSB, that the other computer can't connect.  Is there a way to remotely kick out the other computer if not active?  Or, is there a way to setup a 'timeout' if the VUSB connection has been idle for a set time (eg. 5 minutes)?
Otherwise it looks like this is working great.  Using Bonjour on Windows for Printing to my old Apple Airport was a complete pain and never ended up fully working.  Really happy to find a solution that works with my existing printer, and is easy to setup on both Windows and Mac.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi,
I agree that with our Mac, a shortcut on the menu bar will be helpful for us users to access this feature.
Regarding VUSB not being automatic, I believe that “”print job taking turns idea”” is a product design.
You might need to get printer server if you like no software installed on your PC and no interruptions on your network.

  • Cisco VUSB print software causes Airbook to kernel panic

Recently downloaded Cisco VUSB printer server software for new linksys router and it causes my Airbook to kernel panic when it goes to sleep on battery power.  Any ideas for a solution short of dumping the router which seems to require this software in order to share a printer on the network.  This has happened on both Airbooks in our house so we're pretty certain of what is causing the conflict at this point.

I'm a little stupid about this stuff.  Is this what you mean?  there was another one in there too that was a bit different.  thanks.
