OSX a supported Platform or not?

I just would like to know if MacOsx is now a platform Oracle is developing for or not. Last year it was said it will be. Jdeveloper is still preview and for osx server is not really a database ready. I know it is possible to install the developer edition on OsX Client but I don't want run a database on a client but on a server. So if someone has some knowledge, I would be happy to hear about it.

I would very much like to know the same...I downloaded the latest Java (1.4.1) yesterday as recommended by Apple's Software Update, and right in the release notes it specified that this release was for Oracle. I have been searching since then for some kind of client (particularly a personal DB edition similar to what's available for the PC) and have found nothing. So where / what is it, or when is it coming?

  • R9 290 Gaming - MSIGamingApp: The platform does not support this application

    Hey guys,
    I have a MSI R9 290X Gaming 8G and can´t use the gaming app.
Whenever I try to run the app, I get an error: The platform does not support this application
So I guess I have the same problem as the dude in that thread:
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=179659.0
He had the same issue with the R9 290X Gaming 4G. The problem was, someone flashed a sapphire vbios on his new card.
So can someone check the attached vbios rom, whether it is the right one for my card and not also a sapphire rom or something else?
    Thanks and regards.

I seem to have the same problem using the Live Update App itself. My card is MSI R9 270X Gaming and I use Windows 8.1 64bit.

  • The selected driver is not applicable to any supported platforms. 2012 R2 U1 for Windows 8.1 x64

When trying to import the drivers from the Windows 8.1 x64 Dell E6330 SCCM CAB to our SCCM 2012 R2 U1 server, we receive the error "The selected driver is not applicable to any supported platforms" on a number of drivers.
Specifying the same source directory to the test Windows 8.1 Ent x64 computer via the install driver wizard in Device manager finds and installs the missing drivers successfully (Bluetooth 4.0 Module and STMicroelectronics 3-axis Digital Accelerometer).
The manufacturer section of those drivers looks like this:
    bcbturms-win8x64-brcm.inf
    [Manufacturer]
    %MfgName%=Broadcom, NTamd64.6.3, NTamd64
    st_accel.inf
    [Manufacturer]
    %STM%=ST,NTAMD64
Any idea how I can successfully import these drivers?

Thanks for the suggestion, but the results are the same. The Grabber runs without error, but the injector errors with "Error in ConfigMgrDriverInjector.CheckIfDriverExists The SMS Provider reported an error." So I attempted to import the drivers from the
injector's configured drivers source folder and received the exact same error I receive when attempting to import them from the Dell cab.

  • The platform does not support this application, but does under other account

Okay the MSI Gaming App works just fine under my own account on my PC on which I am the administrator. So it isn't a driver related issue.
Last week I created a second account for my son as he also like to play some games but I dont want him messing up my account.
I wanted to start the MSI Gaming App on his account as my son was going to play a more graphic demanding game but the MSI Gaming App is only giving me the warning: the platform does not support this application.
I checked the Security and Permissions for Authentication they all set like they should which works fine for other software and applications.
Even when I try to run the app as administrator it keeps coming back with this warning.
Anyone got clue why? Maybe I'm overlooking something obvious but till now I still didn't get the MSI Gaming App to run like it should. Some help please.

    1. What's your App version?
    2. What's the mobo/vga/specs of your son's pc?
First of all thanks for the replies and future replies.
    1.
    Version 1.0.0.18
    2.
My sons has his own profile/account on my pc so the hardware config and installed drivers are exact the same. And on my profile the App is working fine. So it has nothing to do with mobo/drivers/vga/specs. I already had installed the App before I created his own profile. As administrator I added all the needed permissions to the MSIGamingApp Properties Security Tab. Like I did with all other software he is running on his profile and which are working just fine. For example Teamspeak, Mumble, Several games, MSOffice and so on. I even set the Permissions to Full Control like on my Administrator profile. At the Permission Entry for MSIGamingApp I let the permissions be inherited from the parent object my administrator profile.
If I would re-install and if during the installation windows would ask for whom the software should be accessible. I only would let Windows do exact the same as I did as administrator in the App Properties Security Tab. That the nice thing about being an admin. Create profile, set permissions and let users on your pc or network access software and applications already installed on the network. So that is why I find it weird this doesnt work.
Also running the MSIGamingApp as Administrator on his profile gives the exact same warning.
I do know how to add permissions to the security tab have been doing that several years for some job I had once.
I could use Afterburner maybe but I don't trust him yet with making changes in Afterburner.
The MSIGamingApp gives just enough controls OC-Gaming-Silent mode.
And in case of trying a re-install of the App anyone got an url for a new version?
Might have found it but it isn't on any MSI webpage.
I did found something on Guru3D but I'm not aloud to post external links.
Did found a url linking to a Torrent side but my Bullguard AV blocked this site instantly.
So a clean url would be nice so to say.
So weird I cant find this software on http://nl.msi.com/search/MSIGamingApp/product/1 or any other MSI site

  • "Sorry, your platform is not supported'

Firefox tells me I need a plugin but when I try to
get it I get the message: "Sorry, your platform is not supported".
I've tried it with both Firefox 3 and IE 7.0.6000.16762 on XP Pro
at SP3+. I don't know what to try next. Can anyone help?

SiSLA is totally correct. I was having a problem viewing
Flash videos only at one site:
    CNet TV. I was using IE7 (32-bit
browser) in Vista 64. No CNet TV Flash videos would load and the
message at the top of the page stated that I had to install Flash,
even though I already had the most recent version of Flash Player
and all other Flash content on the net would play for me (e.g.
YouTube). If I clicked on the link
    http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer,
it would state that my platform wasn't supported.
However, CNet TV worked fine for me in Firefox, so it wasn't
really a platform issue, but rather a browser issue. More
specifically, it was a User-Agent String issue. If you go to this
page you can see what the User-Agent String is for your browswer:
    http://www.fiddlertool.com/ua.aspx.
And if you go to this link, you can download a nifty little
add-on that will let you change your User-Agent String on the fly:
    http://www.enhanceie.com/ietoys/uapick.asp.
If I use that utility to remove the "WOW64;" part from my
User-Agent String, I can download the Flash Player from Adobe's
website using IE7 (32-bit browser) in Vista 64. So, like SiSLA
stated, Adobe needs to realize that it's okay to allow a 32-bit
browser in a 64-bit environment to download Flash Player.
Also, I managed to somehow fix my CNet TV problem by deleting
some keys in the Registry having to do with UserAgent. And even
after restoring these keys (I exported them as backups), CNet TV is
still working for me. And it doesn't seem to have a problem with
the "WOW64" part of my User-Agent String. I don't really know why
it wasn't working, or why it is now, but I'm happy.

  • HT5022 I've downloaded AirPort Util 5.6, in order to manage my Gen 1 Airport Express. But when I go to mount, it says it can't be installed as version of OSX (latest Mountain Lion) is not supported. Feels like Im back using Windows...

I've downloaded AirPort Util 5.6, in order to manage my Gen 1 Airport Express - because Airport Util 6.0 won't recognise it.
But when I go to mount, it says Airport 5.6 it can't be installed as my version of OSX (latest Mountain Lion) is not supported/does not support on 5.6.
Super unhelpful error messages bringing back memories of using Windows...
Anyone sussed this, or have Apple just fazed out the original Airport Express hardware on the sly?

Generation 1 AirPort Express is Model No A1264. Check the side of your Express to look for the model number there.  AirPort Utility in Mountain Lion will configure this model.
More likely, you have an older "b/g" version of the Express. Apple started the "Generation" thing with "n" capable devices.  The Model number of your device is likely either A1084 or A1088. AirPort Utility in Mountain Lion no longer supports these older "b/g" devices.
If you have a Mac there running an earlier version of the operating system, you can use that to configure the Express.
Or, there is is workaround to install AirPort Utility 5,6 for Lion on Mountain Lion. See this article for details:

  • [290x] MSI Gaming App error "The platform does not support this application."

Using the latest AMD Omega drivers, I am unable to launch the Gaming App and am presented with this error -  "The platform does not support this application."
I have tried downloading Gaming APP 3.0.0.16.zip from another post on the topic but I am receiving the same error. The only other thing I've seen as a 'solution' is to install the drivers from the MSI support page for my card - however this is version 14.4 and is over 3 months old, I don't really think that's a viable solution.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

Is your vga driver 14.12? Any other settings changed?
Do you have any other msi or vga software installed?
Can you do a fresh re-install OS and what's the language of your OS?
Yes, Catalyst Omega. No other software or hardware changes.
Yes MSI Afterburner. Have tried uninstalling and installing gaming app, have also not had it running when trying to launch MSI Gaming app. No joy there.
No I can't, that's not really an option for a piece of software like this which worked before but doesn't since the latest AMD driver updates.
    Quote from: JLio01 on 07-January-15, 16:07:38
Since your motherboard is not the supported gaming series mobos, there might be something detected wrong with your card. The error message shown if neither motherboard nor vga is supported in Gaming App. I suggest use AMD Catalyst Clean Uninstall Utility to totally uninstall the current driver:
    http://www.techspot.com/drivers/driver/file/information/16748/
and re-install the latest driver 14.12. I have no problem using Gaming App 3.0.0.16 with my R9 290X, hope you too.
I have never seen anything stating that you need a supported gaming series motherboard to use the MSI Gaming App - maybe for other features if it has any, but the gaming app I used when I got my card was a little box with a few options for the GPU on it. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver already unfortunately, using both AMD CCUU and a second attempt with DDU. No change at all, the exact same error message.
But as I've said, the fact that there is more than one person reporting this and older drivers make the gaming app work, it's definitely a software ended problem on certain configurations. I have installed driver 14.4 now and can once again use the gaming app, just as someone with a different card and different motherboard has stated in another thread. xxhttps://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=251885.0xx this solution however is not really acceptable.

  • Java for Mac OSX 10.4 Release7 will not work with eTrade Market Trader

After the latest update to 10.4.11 wich was the latest version of Java the java applet will not start. Talked to eTrade tech support and found out that their site only supports up Java1.6. Now I am trying to update my Mac Pro to 10.4.10 but can not find the update anywhere that is not bundled with the latest version of Java. Called Apple support, they did not have a solution, so to all you experts how can this problem be resolved ?

Thank you for your response. I spent 2 hours on the phone with an Apple Tech, he was really good and we went through all the possibilities (thank god for Apple Care Plan). He even got others involved but we all could not come up with anything else than to do an 'Archive-Install'. I did repair permissions several times. My Mac was running great prior to the update, I actually own 7 Mac's and I am very meticulous with maintenance and backing up everything. By the way I love these things. But when the new update came out, I told everybody to backup and then update the Mac's. Now I have 1 Mac that runs 10.4.8 and 6 that run 10.4.11. They all work great and are in great condition, but the only one that can run the online trading platform is the one running 10.4.8 and all the others have the software to access my .Mac account. Since I have these Mac's indifferent locations (so I can travel without lugging one along) I enjoy using all the .Mac features. Everything was so easy before "Java for Mac OSX 10.4 Release 7" came out. I am just really frustrated. I just wish I could go back to 10.4.10. But all the updates are bundled with the Java release 7. Is there any place where I can find 10.4.10 ?
