OSX DVD/CD Burner Error Code - HELP!

Hey everyone. I hope someone might be able to help me out with a problem I am having.
I just purchased a Plextor DVD/CD burner, and every time I put a blank in it, it gives me an error code (0x80020025). I thought it just might be my burner, but I tried to burn a disc with my buddy's Lacie, and had the same issue. The drive reads all discs fine, it just won't let me set it up to burn one.
Can anyone help, please?! Thank you all so much.

The drive is an external drive. It is a Plextor PX-740UF. I am running it with USB. Just to let you know, I had the same issue with my buddy's Lacie drive when I plugged it in.
The drive recognizes everything BUT unburned discs. When I put one in and I try to open it in Finder, or in iTunes, it gives me that error code.
I have also tried to do the force quit from Finder, and then re-launching, but this doesn't help either.
Thanks for your help.

My Mac OS X 10.4.11 will not write DVDs and gets error code 0x80020022, what is wrong?

That code is not really useful since it just means it can't write DVD's (or probably CD's).  The only thing you can do is first to try a different brand of DVD's, higher quality.  You could also try burning at a slower speed.
Based on the fact that you are using an OSX that's no long supported, there's probably not much you can do to correct this issue if it is software related.  You may also have a failing Super Drive, another consequence of an older Mac.

  • Inquiring minds may find this error code helpful: 0x207

Hopefully I'm asking this in the right forum. I just downloaded the update for Microsoft Remote Desktop for Windows Phone 8.1 (I am actually running Denim on a 1520 but that may not matter). The version is 8.1.8.13 released 3/4/2015. I am trying to connect
to a RemoteApp application but I am receiving the following error message shortly after it tries the redirection process (I think it fails at the securing remote connection part after it attemps the redirction to the RemoteApp application collection server):
    Connection error
We couldn't connect to the remote PC. This might be due to an expired password. If this keeps happening, ask your admin or tech support for help.
Inquiring minds may find this error code helpful: 0x207
I am able to connect directly to both the broker server as well as the RemoteApp collection server with this application with the same credentials and am only experiencing this when trying to connect to a RemoteApp application.
We are running Server 2012 R2 for both the broker/web and the collection servers. We are not using a gateway server as we use an SSL VPN concentrator instead for access outside of our network. We have server farms set up as well in the RemoteApp topology.
Any info would help or let me know if I'm not posting in the right forum for this issue. I know this is a very recent release so I'm trying to figure out if I should wait for a bug fix or if there's something that I can do on my end.
Thank you in advance for your time!

    Hi Scott,
Please check your configuration once again and the certificate must be well configured. Also for accessing RemoteApp there might be the permission issue for your use, recheck once and verify. You can also got through
    this article for information.
    Hope it helps!

Ok so I have read all the support articles and many of the discussions already posted...but still can not burn a dvd.

I have lots of room on my hard drive and am using DVD-R sony dvds. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

  • Data DVD wont burn - error message

    Dear Macsters,
Everytime I try to burn a data dvd, i immediately get this message:
    BURN
sorry, the operation could not be completed because an unexpected error occurred (Error code 0x8002006D).
It only does this when i set the burn at 1x. At 2x it burns.
    I have osx 10.4.8, early g4 17" laptop, superdrive (dvd-r only).
Is this a burner problem or a software problem??
    Daniel

Manually setting the burn speed on some applications can be problematic.
If it burns at 2X then my guess is thats what you need to do. Burn at 2X.

    Cheers Don
Oh one other thing, older burners are very picky about media.
I suggest you use the very best media, rather than bargin basement cheap media.

I am experiencing the same problem aswell, every time I try to burn different Verbatim DVD-R or Maxell DVD+R at different speeds 2x 4x or 8x I get the same error code 0x80020022
I tried resetting the PRAM and NVRAM and some other suggestions mentioned in this forum, but none of the worked.

  • Re: Cd/DVD drive issue - error code 39 on Satellite P series

    Hi,
This is my first request for help.
My CD/DVD drive is no longer recognized and when I go to Device Manager and click on CD/DVD I am informed that the file cdrom.sys is there but cannot be loaded.
An error number 39 is reported.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated but please keep it simple to one line actions if possible.

Of course you can get some advices ;)
I think you would find it faster if you would search in the forum firstly but I will try to help you too.
    There error code 39 is very common issue and can be solved easy;
Check this MS knowledge base article:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060/en-us
So firstly remove the CD/DVD drive from the device manager.
Then access the registry using the regedit command and remove the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters values completely from the following registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Reboot the notebook and wait till the CD/DVD drive was installed again.
    Thats it. ;)

now I've got ANOTHER burn failure....this is absolutely ridiculous..it can't all be me can it?

    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300448-Heres a start.
This happens on certain PC's. I dont know if you care to know the ins and outs of why this sometimes happens, but here is why and how to fix it. an application (such as Roxio, Nero, iTunes, etc.) is installing a driver file (as a .SYS) or replacing a working driver file that is referenced within your registry. For some folks, the replaced driver is still referenced by either an UpperFilterCheck or a LowerFilterCheck, and the device manager is actually seeking out that file that, well... no longer exists. Or, when you try and uninstall the application (iTunes is the frequent transgressor) everything is removed, including the related driver files, but the registry isn't altered... so the device manager continues to try and locate that driver file... which no longer exists.
the thing to do to reclaim your optical drives is located in your registry here:
    HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE1 0318}
You'll want to have that open, and a mini-window of the following:
START -> CONTROL PANEL -> SYSTEM -> Hardware (tab) -> DEVICE MANAGER -> Offending Drive (with yellow tag by it) Right-Mouse-Click and PROPERTIES -> Driver (tab) -> DRIVER DETAILS
Notice that list. It references all the drivers that that particular drive is utilizing. There should be a single .DLL (dynamic link library) file and multiple .SYS files. It's the .SYS files we're focusing on, and they should be located in your C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\ folder stem. If you want to open a new window explorer, and go verify that each of those driver files still exists in that folder stem, you may.
At this point, compare the Driver File Detail list with the Registry Tree Location you're sitting in, and look at the UpperFilterCheck and LowerFilterCheck key values. Your offending key value will NOT be on your Driver File Detail list!!! It might be as small as "PFC" or something else, but that value is referencing to a driver file that no longer exists. Delete that offending key value. Close the registry.
Close the Driver File Details and Drive Properties windows. At this point, to finish this up, you need to Soft Uninstall (Right-mouse-click on the drive, and hit "Uninstall" ) the drive(s), let the Device Manager refresh... then hit ACTION -> Scan For Hardware Changes ...
This should start a new Found New Hardware cycle, and.... poof!... your drives should be back to normal.
Let me know how it goes.
    Good Luck,
    Rachyl

  • DVD DL failed, error code 0x26, 0x00 ?

Made project in iDVD 6.0.4, going to burn DVD DL Verbatim disk, encoding gets all the way to finish and starts to write to disk, disk spits out with error code >The recording device reported the illegal request: Invalid field in parameter list. (0x26, 0x00)< iDVD 6.0.4 will make a disk image, and I can burn a DL disk in Toast 9, although a bit worried about the dual layer issue which comes as a warning from iDVD 6.0.4, anybody had similar problems with LaCie disk writers? Obviously iDVD 6.0.4. sees it, System Profiler, Under Disk Burning, Burn Support, it says YES (Unsupported).
Had no problems with LaCie 16x burner, in for repair at present?
    Any suggestions welcome.

Hi, thanks for the reply, apologies, I have not have made it clear.
My internal drive has long gone, working with a firewire, LaCie,22x+-RW burner external. System profiler I have previously noted. I am quite happy to make a disk image first, then burn through Toast 9, which I agree with you is brilliant, just worried about iDVD's warning about layer break. My gut feeling is that Toast 9 has moved on a lot from 6, which gave me problems when I came to playback on TV screen. Also the DVD readers have also moved on, would still like to burn from within iDVD 6.0.4 to be safe as one can be, hence seeking advice if I am missing something on my set up.
    Kind Regards, G. Jackson.

  • Can´t back up from iPhoto to DVD. Unexpected error code 0x8002006E

I´ve tried to back up from iPhoto to DVD. I followed:
Create a CD or DVD by exporting
In iPhoto, select the photos, albums, or video clips you want to burn to a disc.
    Choose File > Export.
In the Export Photos window, click File Export, and then select your options. For best results, choose JPEG, Maximum, and Full Size. For more information, see Export a photo.
When you’re ready, click Export, and export the photos to a folder on your computer.
When the export is finished, quit iPhoto.
Click the Finder icon in the Dock, and then insert a CD-RW disc or a blank CD-R or DVD-R disc into your drive.
Drag the folder that contains your exported photos to the disc’s icon.
When the files have been copied, choose File > Burn Disc, and then click Burn.
The disc can´t be burned because an unexpected error occurred (error code 0x8002006E)
    Am I missing something?
    Thank you

    I found this:
When burning a DVD, I also had the error 0x8002006E.  I found a SOLUTION that is not discussed in this forum. I tried the three different things that are listed in this forum (delete the finder file, reset PRAM, and try different blank DVDs), but those methods did not work.
I had to repair my internal hard drive.  I had to start my computer from my installation disc (version 10.5.4) (I turned on the computer while holding down "C" key with install disc in the drive).  Then, you have to go to Disc Utility (at top menu bar) and click on your hard drive then click repair disc.  After my computer repaired multiple problems, I restarted my computer from my main hard drive and then I could burn DVDs again.  Please let me know if you have questions.
    Is this the solution?
