OSX Firefox freezes when trying to play youtube videos on facebook.
When I click on embedded youtube videos on facebook, OSX firefox freezes, and I need to force quit. Everything is up to date, and this problem has been going on for at least two updates.
Hey virus1244,
Have you looked at the Knowledge Base article [[Managing the Flash plugin#w_playing-flash-videos-makes-firefox-hang|Managing the Flash plugin]]? It has a section on resolving freezing issues. This might be what you are looking for.
Hopefully this helps!

Task Manager shows that Firefox is still running. Clicking End Task restarts the video playing and application running (then I have to cancel the End Task and Close Program processes).
Try uninstalling Flash Player 10.2 and install the previous version, 10.1.There have been a few reports of problems with Flash that have been solved by using the previous version. You can download the uninstaller for Flash, and get version 10.1 from http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html
The Adobe archive files contain multiple versions of 10.1 for all operating systems so is quite a large download, the old-apps lets you just download the Windows versions that you require - http://www.oldapps.com/flash_player.php
You can also try disabling hardware acceleration on Flash to see if that helps. If you can access any Flash content, right-click on it and choose Settings. In the first section of the settings is the option to enable/disable hardware acceleration. -
On my Ipad I seem to be having a problem when trying to play YouTube videos embedded on Facebook.
When I click the links, I get a message saying: "Flash Player upgrade required."
and under it, it says, "You need to download and install the lastes version of Adobe Flash Player to view this content"
and also a green button saying "Get Flash Player"
I get this if using chrome or safari .
I can go direct to YouTube it just works. The Facebook link to the video is accessing an Adobe Flash video. Unfortunately, no iOS devices can play flash.

Get error message when trying to play YouTube video's say phone don't support adobe flash player but sometimes it plays them
This is because the html5 player will load the video by default. I have noticed lately that some channels required flash player. Do you have an example video by chance for further investigation?

When trying o play Youtube videos I only see "Plug-in failure". It looks like a button but does nothing. What should I do?
Wait until Adobe updates the Flash Player.

Firefox freezes when I go to Youtube videos
As of yesterday, I cannot visit any Youtube video pages. The home page is fine, but whenever I try to go to any page with a video, Firefox freezes completely. I have Flashblock installed, but that doesn't seem to make any difference. I've tried uninstalling Flash and reinstalling to 10.3 - no difference. I'm running WIndows XP, FF 18.0.2. Does anyone know why this might be happening? I don't have this problem with any other browser, only FF.
I just removed [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/video-downloadhelper/ Video DownloadHelper 4.9.15] add-on and voila, Firefox doesn't freeze anymore. If you have it you better remove it. It worked for me maybe it will work for you!
I think you know how to remove an add-on but if you don't, read below:
*In order to uninstall a possibly unwanted extension, please do the following:
#From the Firefox window click the Firefox button at the top left and select ''Add-ons'', or, if the Firefox button is not shown, click the ''Tools'' menu and click ''Add-ons''.
#Once the Add-on Manager has opened in a new tab, click the ''Extensions'' button on the left side of the window.
#You should now see a list of your installed extensions on the right side together with buttons on the right side of each extension.
#To remove an extension from Firefox, simply click the ''Remove'' button. You should see a message that informs you about the successful removal of the add-on.
#Note that some add-ons require a Firefox restart to be removed completely. To perform a Firefox restart after the add-on removal, click the ''Restart now'' link in the message.
*You can find further information about uninstalling extensions in the following articles: [[Disable or remove Add-ons]] -
Firefox freezes when trying to play a flash enabled video
Every time i try to watch a video on youtube firefox will almost alwasy freeze within 1-10 seconds. I have the correct adobe flash and everything to watch the video. When i exit firefox it tells me i have a proble with my plugin manager. I have uninstalled and reinstalled firefox disabled and enabled many parts on the plugin manager but i didnt get anywhere.
I'm having the same issue on the Mac Platform as well. The problem happens with Firefox, Chrome, and Safari. Seeing as it's happening with multiple browsers and multiple operating systems it looks as though it's an adobe problem. Oddly though, I haven't had any problems with flash and the Opera Browser. I'd be very interested if anyone is able to find a work-around for the other browsers.

Tech. support said they updated the firmware on my DVR remotely, but that didn't do anything. I see other people are having issues. Does anyone have a solution, or has anyone had tech. support actually fix the problem? Thanks.
it's definetely a Media manager thing, make sure you have the absolute latest and greatest media manager (tech support will tell you to make sure of this too)
then make sure you add VerizonMediaManager.exe and VZVideoAgent.exe to the firewall exception list in all the firewalls on your machine (meaning windows firewall plus whatever firewall you have installed // mcafee, norton, trendmicro, kaspersky etc....)
Also let us know if the sample videos work and it's just youtube that doesn't, or do the sample videos not play either?
if sample video's play then youtube should really work and vz may have to have their it guys look at it.
if the sample videos's don't work then it's probably the firewall thing I mentioned above. the sample vid is included in the Media Manager PC installation kit.
try this if as well, I found this on their website.
Media Manager Troubleshooting guide : https://www36.verizon.com/MM/fiossupport/Index.shtm
Also some virus protectors like eset and avg see verizon media manager as a threat and terminate the connection. this link gives you a couple work arounds to fixing that. -
Ipod nano 5th generation freezes when trying to play a song or video
Within the last couple of day my ipod nano 5th generation started freezing whenever i tryed to play a song. Oly way i could turn it off was by resetting it, however it did not fix the problem and still freezes whenever i try to play a song. I have even restored it to factory setting and it does the exact same thing. I don't understand why it does this, does anyone know why it freezes and won't stop? i don't have any warrenty on it and want to know if it is fixable, because it just randomly started freezing when trying to play music. If any one knows why it would be appriacted to know.
Does this happen with any song or video you play? If so, then my best guess would be a hardware issue since a restore to factory settings did not resolve it.

Why do I keep getting "Error occurred. Please try later again." , eveytime when trying to watch youtube videos. I have the latest adobe flash player and java so why can't I watch videos at youtube??
It's very, very, frustrating having had so many people tell me I need to change my browser to you guys at mozilla firefox.
I've tried everything but still cannot view the youtube videos. I have a 32 bit Toshiba laptop.
God bless, I await your reply,

Unable to load media error when trying to play a video in Sharepoint 2013
My team consistently gets an error when trying to play a video in SharePoint 2013. I can upload it, pick a thumbnail and save it. When anyone else goes to the intranet site and tries to play the video, they get a media failed to load error.
I have tried mp4 and wmv formats. I at first thought it had to do with the codec used in Camtasia to create the video, so I encoded it in Microsoft Encoder to a wmv and it still fails. All of the videos I upload fail for other users. If someone else uploads
a video, I get the error and cannot play the video. If I look at the library in Explorer, the video file is missing but the subdirectories for additional content and thumbnails are present. For the videos I upload and can play but everyone else
gets the error, I see those subdirectories as well as the video file itself.Result

Error when trying to view YouTube videos
I get the following error when trying to view YouTube videos in some wireless hotspots; "The server is not correctly configured". It used to work fine at these locations.
Maybe not as many people reply as you think should because this site doesn't freaking work either!
Took me ten minutes to log in! Kept getting stupid error messages telling me this site is undergoing maintenance. Whatever.
Same exact problem here, but Chrome DOES NOT work. Changing DNS servers DOES NOT work either. It doesn't work for a lot of people.
https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/youtube/axsb7XPieK0
EDIT**
WTF this site is more broken than youtube! Constant errors and constantly unresponsive with "greyed out" buttons!
Is there any competent people left on the planet to fix this crap!? -
Firefox 3.6.15 not play youtube videos show blank video frame but other browsers play perfectly please help me for this matter i have already updated adobe flash player.
Answers in this forum have shown different things have worked for different people.
For some clearing YouTube cookies and the cache solved the problem. For details of how to do that see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Deleting+cookies and https://support.mozilla.com/kb/How+to+clear+the+cache
Others had to go a step further after deleting YouTube cookies and block YouTube from saving cookies. In the Tools menu select Options to open the Options window. Go to the Privacy panel and make sure it is set to "Use custom setting for history". Click the Exceptions button, type in http://www.youtube.com and click on Block
Another option is to disable hardware acceleration for Flash. To do that right-click on a Flash video, select Settings, go to the first tab of the settings for the option to enable/disable hardware acceleration for Flash. This is something recommended by YouTube for those having problems - http://www.google.com/support/youtube/bin/answer.py?&answer=1209379
