Osx mail and two different providers

I have two email providers:
(a)  [email protected]
(b)  [email protected]
I just recently added an additional email in my account on Mac osx mail.  Up until yesterday I had my Mac osx mail linked to [email protected]
Yesterday, I added a new email address to my account ([email protected]).  It is my hope that I am able to use Mac osx mail to send and receive email through the two different providers - [email protected] & [email protected]
Since adding the new provider ([email protected]) I am unable to send mail through my original email ([email protected])
I am able to send and receive email no problem with the new account ([email protected]) but am unable to send email with my old account ([email protected])
My original email ([email protected]) appears to be ‘offline’ although I am able to receive mail.
Macbook Air version 10.9.5

I just found my answer.  I needed to check the box in each account under outgoing mail as 'Use this server only'

  • We have two ipads and two different itunes accounts, can I sync my wife's apps and she mine?

we have two ipads and two different itunes accounts. can I sync my wife's apps and she mine?

Yes, you can use the apps from both accounts on the same iPad. You will both need to authorize each others iTunes account for use in each others computer account. You may authorize up to five Macs/PCs to use stuff from your account and that computer can then transfer the stuff to up to 10 iOS devices.
Open iTunes in your account and have your wife sign into her iTunes account in the iTunes app. First authorize your computer account to use her iTunes stuff from the iTunes Store menu. Then have your wife download all of the iOS apps that you want to use into iTunes. Now you do the same in her computer account.
Remember that only you can update apps acquired with your iTunes account and vice versa. So you will need to either sign into iTunes on the computer or directly on each others iPad to update any apps that need it. It is a little confusing at first, but you get the hang of it quickly.

  • BGP multi-homing with two different providers – iBGP and traversal question.

I have two internet connections.  Both connections are with different providers and on two separate routers.  I have two ASA’s that sit behind the routers and I proxy arp all hosted services off of the ASA’s outside interface.
I am obtaining a provider independent AS number from ARIN and would like to setup eBGP peering with each provider, accepting a default route only and advertise my leased block (let’s say 50.100.150.0/24).  I’d like to prepend my AS  on the ISP-B connection to ensure that it is only used as backup.
Here is the real question.  I know I will need to allow TCP-179 through the ASA’s to establish the iBGP connection but because the hosts that I have at site A are proxy-arp’d off of the firewall outside interface, I need some way for traffic to come in from ISP-B, to router B and then traverse over to router A so that it can be sent to ASA-Firewall A.  (please see attached diagram).  What is the best way to accomplish this?  GRE tunnel between the routers & through the firewalls?  I have ample bandwidth and low latency between site A and B.
    Thanks

Is that orange line a direct connection between CPE routers? If yes, a direct iBGP connection is possible. If not, I suggest that you obtain one as it is almost impossible to make the ASAs stay in sync with BGP routing. (-: If you can't, then GRE could be a workaround.
Is ASA redundancy a requirement too? (I mean in case ASA-A fails, are the site-A servers supposed to be accessible via ASA-B?) If yes, you must ensure that the outgoing traffic (default route in internal network) is in sync with active ISP and asymmetric routing is prevented. You can solve that with object tracking and you need the same static NATs in both ASAs.
I would consider creating shared VLANs on ASA interfaces and form a failover pair too but it's a different setup.

  • Mac OSX Mail and deleting "undeliverables"

We receive (too much) junk in our Mail program; normally we “bounce” it back but most of the time it comes back as: (From) Mail Delivery System; (Subject) Undeliverable Mail Returned to Sender. The normal next step has been to delete the returned mail, and then empty the trash.
We have two Mac minis. I run OSX (10.4.7) and Mail (Version 2.1 (752/752.2)).
On my wife’s Mac mini, over the last week plus, every time we take the delete/trash steps, the file pops back up in the Inbox. When we delete/trash the file again it immediately reappears in the Inbox.
I don’t want to trash the Account and start over because there is a lot of “good” mail she needs. Help!!
    Pete F

Why do you people keep bouncing spam?
If the bounce doesn't reach the destination, it's just a waste of time and bandwith, plus a source of problems, because in all likelihood it'll be bounced back to you.
If the bounce reaches the destination, then it's even worse, because you're either (1) telling the spammer that your address is valid and that you're willing to spend time on his/her/its junk, or (2) contributing to the spammer's effort by sending his/her/its junk to the innocent whose address was stolen for sending it (and who, in turn, might end up posting in a forum such as this wondering why does he/she receive bounces for messages he/she hasn't sent).
So what exactly is the point of bouncing spam? Don't you have anything better to do with your time?
OK, enough ranting. Back to the problem, to fix it you must re-create Envelope Index. Problem is, Mail may choke on those messages while re-creating the index, so either be prepared for that or perform optional steps 1 and 3:
    1. (Optional, but recommended). Assuming this is a POP account, try to find in ~/Library/Mail/POP-username@mailserver/INBOX.mbox/Messages/ the *.emlx files associated with the troublesome messages. Viewing the *.emlx files as List in the Finder showing the creation/modification date may help. Just identify them; do not get rid of them yet (you must quit Mail first).
    2. Quit Mail.
    3. (Optional, but recommended). If you found the troublesome *.emlx files in step 1, move them to the Trash.
    4. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Mail/. Make a backup copy of this folder, just in case something goes wrong -- e.g. by dragging it to the Desktop while holding the Option (Alt) key down.
    5. Locate the Envelope Index file and move it to the Trash. If you see an Envelope Index-journal file there, delete it as well.
    6. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Mail/POP-username@mailserver/. Locate Deleted Messages.mbox, and move it to the Trash. I assume there is nothing to be preserved there.
    7. Open Mail. It will tell you that your mail needs to be "imported". Click Continue and Mail will proceed to re-create Envelope Index -- Mail says it's "importing", but it just re-creates the index if the mailboxes are already in Mail 2.x format.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user's home folder, i.e. ~/Library is the Library folder within the user's home folder.

  • One computer and two different ipods...

    Hello,
Currently, I have a Macbook Pro and an eighty gig ipod. My girlfriend has a 30 gig ipod as well. Our plan is to share a computer and have different media on our ipods. We like the same music but she wants to have pictures on her ipod and I do not.
Is it possible to have two ipods synced onto one computer where the eighty gig ipod is strictly music and the thirty gig is a combination of music and pictures? Will this be overly complicated or an easy thing to do?
    Thanks a lot,
    Jonathan

there are basically two ways of using multiple iPods on a computer and these involve:
    a) Sharing a single iTunes library and or user account or
    b) Creating multiple user accounts.
Note: When you are sharing an iTunes library, you don't have to set each iPod to update in the same manner, you can mix and match from the options below as each iPod has it's own update settings
Sharing a Library and/or User Account
If you want to share the one library, you can set either or all of the iPods so that they only get updated with only certain playlists (you can update from more than one if you wish):
Loading songs onto iPod automatically - Mac
Choosing the update option "Sync Music - Selected playlists" allows you to create a playlist specifically for the iPod and drag the tracks you want into it. If you tire of the list and want to change it, you just add or remove the songs you don't want. The ones you take out out remain in the library to be used some other time if you choose. You can read more about playlists at these links:
iTunes: Creating playlists of your favorite songs
How to create a Smart Playlist with iTunes
Or you can choose to update any or all of the iPods manually and just drag whatever content you want to them: Managing content manually on iPod
It's also possible to have multiple libraries in a single account. To create or access a second (or more) library, hold down the Option key (or Shift key in Windows) when launching iTunes 7. In the resulting dialogue you will get the option to create a new library or navigate to the other Library.
Note: You can only have one Library open at a time and iTunes will default to the last library opened if you don't use the keyboard command to choose one. This can prove tricky when using multiple iPods, if you don't use the keyboard command you can risk syncing to the wrong library:
    Using multiple iTunes libraries -Windows
    Separate User Accounts
Another option is to create a separate User account for each person on your PC or Mac. Different accounts by definition would give you completely separate libraries. Each account has it's own iTunes folder, Library and iTunes Music folder and you load it with CDs etc just as you did with your original one. The iPod can be set to update however the owner chooses, sync all, manual or sync specific playlists

  • Torch Sends E-mail and Appointments Differently

My Torch 9850 has one e-mail account using BIS.
When I send an e-mail from the Torch, it arrives at the PC from My Name.  When I open the message it shows My Name <myname@mydomain>.
When I invite someone to an appointment from the Torch, it arrives only as myname@mydomain.
Is there a setting on the Torch that will allow both direct e-mails and invitations to be sent with the same information, so the recipient will see My Name?
    Thanks.

    eelkes,
Does yours throw a sync conflict every time you sync with BlackBerry Desktop Software because the attendees list is different?
If so, this has been bugging me for months!
I hope someone has the answer.  The invitation should have the same header as the primary e-mail account so sync's aren't stopped by different attendees lists.  Turning off conflict resolution notification isn't an option.

  • Setting up Mail to show e-mail from two different sources

My regular e-mail goes to sbcglobal.net. Mail picks up the e-mail and lists it properly. I also have a .Mac account. In order to check my .Mac mail I have to go to .Mac and log on. How do you set up Mail so that it will show both my sbcglobal.net mail and the .Mac mail?

In Mail>Preferences>Accounts, click the '+' sign at the bottom of the window and choose '.Mac' for account type and enter your username and password, etc.

  • Lightroom and two different camera types

I can import CR2 files from EOS 5D Mark II but not the ones from EOS 600d. Is it possible that Lightroom is not importing CR2 files from two different cameras?
    I use the latest version.
    Many thanks!

Is it possible that Lightroom is not importing CR2 files from two different cameras?
    Yes, it is possible.
Can you tell us what happens when you try to import? If you get an error message, please quote it word-for-word.
    I use the latest version.
We don't know what you mean by that. What is the version number of Lightroom?

I have 11 e-mail accounts that was working fine a minute ago, but now they all say that they can't connect to the IMAP and SMTP servers.
They all work fine on my iphone.

    Thanks in advance.

Nevermind, restarted for the third or fourth time, and now it works...
    Perhaps it was a time-issue.

  • SunONE Sync Software and Two Different Users

I am attempting to set up a second user on the same shared PC to sync their palm with a SunONE calendar. My problem is that the first persons information that I set up is being displayed.
Is there a flag or some other way to input new user information for the SunONE sync? I checked in help, but I did not find anything there.
Basically, I am wanting to allow one user to sign in on a Windows XP Professional system and sync to their SunONE calendar. Then allow another user on a different log on to the same PC sync to their calendar. I am not finding a way to do this.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    John

Does anyone have any ideas on how to make this work with two people trying to sync at the same PC? This is Windows XP and I cannot find any flags that could specify two separate users.

  • CR 4 Ent, Xcelsius and WebI - one query and two different results

    Dear Sirs,
I'm using BO 4.0 platform and 3 tools: Crystal Reports for Enterprise, WebI and Dashboard Design (Xcelsius).
I have one question, because in my opinion in this solution is one inconsistency.
I have one table in SQL Server (like below):
    IDRec (autoinc)  | Col1 (varchar)   | Col2 (int)
    1      A    1
    2      A    1
    3      B    2
    4      B    2
I have one universe with ONLY 3 dimensions (IDRec, Col1, Col2). I haven't any measures.
    And:
    1. Using CR 4 Ent and I create report using 3 dimensions (IDRec, Col1, Col2).
I make sure, that I selected option: "Retrieve duplicate rows"
If I have 3 columns in details I have 4 records (4 rows) in my report, when I have 2 columns (Col1 Col2) I have only 2 records (2 rows) in report (Page view).
So universe (or something like this) use option DISTICT (I think).
    2. When I use WebI (14.0.2) I have the same situation.
    3. When I use Dashboard Desigm (Xcelsius 2011) I have 4 rows !!!  ALWAYS - it doesn't matter I selected "Retrieve duplicate rows" or not  !!!
When I look to "View script" window, I not see DISTINCT clause.
    Am I doing something wrong?
I can change the settings so as to be able to see duplicate records?
It's very important for some calculation, especially in Crystal Reports (for Enterprise).

    Hi,
Thanks for the response...But the result is deviating from the expected..
           expected is
if we have first query returns              second query returns
                  1                                                     4
                  2                                                     5
                  3                                                     6
these two queries result should be in one table , with first query result in first column and second query result in second column.
The two queries fetching data from same table(category table as in my post) with different search criteria( in where clause).......Regards,
    Rakesh.

  • Help I have two ipods and two different playlists

I have an Ipod and so does my girlfriend. We both have different tastes in music. Everytime I plug hers in it automatically puts my music on her ipod and vice versa. I have exported my library but when I open it it tells me songs are missing now and when I plug my ipod in I lose about 10 songs. And when I put cds into itunes will it take up space on my computer? I just want me library and hers. Can I create two separate ones? This may be confusing so if you need clarification please ask.

Don't use the tickmarks, it's slow and a hassle, as you've found.
You can use one Windows user account and just sync certain playlists to each iPod.
Or, set up a different windows user account for your sister

  • Send E-Mail over two different Mail Server ?

I successfully configured E-Mail in HTML DB according to the How-To "Send E-Mail from HTML DB Applications".
There's one point in our environment that is a little bit special. The HTML DB application should work for two companies. So it works for company A because every message is sent to the corresponding Mail Server. Of course messages to company B are rejected because the Mail Server of company A is not configured to accept these messages ( relaying denied... ). Is this a Mail Server administration issue or is there a possibility to implement an if then else functionality for Mail Server in HTML DB ?
    Thanks Tobias

htmldb_mail supports a single mail server per htmldb instance. if you want to call different mail servers, consider sending the emails via your own calls to utl_smtp. there's a pretty simple example of that code at...

You can do this, but different mail systems treat them differently, so test, test, test before unleashing this on any of your recipients.
