OsX Mountain Lion Code not redeemed

I receive a code for free downloading osx mountain lion for my new retina macbook pro. But when I try redeem it mac app store say that "This code has already bee Used".... What to DO??

Called them. They have it shut down because "people were trying to get Mountain Lion before it ws released" anyways none of the codes will work, the rep told me I would get some new codes "later today". Kinda ****** deal but it is what it is... As if they can't tell when we submitted the request.

Just purchased imac, how do I redeem osx mountain lion code? I only see an option to purchase when I go to app store.

I had gone to this link last night and was mailed the code. The email said to copy code and go to the app store to download the software. However when I click the mountain lion app the only option is to "buy". Is there a special link to redeem? What am I missing. Thxs.

  • OSX Mountain Lion "Disk not ejected properly" USB-Finder not responding

    Hello,
I just upgraded to OSX Mountain Lion late 2008 macbook pro. Whenever i plug in a USB, it detects it fine. But then when i copy anything to it, it starts but then give the error message "Disk was not ejected properly". After that, my finder hangs and i have to force quit it. And then it doesnt launch unless I do a restart of my computer by pressing and holding the power key because normal restart doesnt work. Happen to anyone? any solution? Thanks!

Connect the USB device then right or control click the USB device icon on the Desktop, then click Eject.
Then re connect the device and try copying files.

  • "OSX Mountain Lion is not compatible with this computer."

I bought a MacBook Pro (13" retina display) today. Tried to update software. Error mesage said to ujpdate OS. When I tried to, error message said, "OS X Mountain Lion is not compatible with this computer." Anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions?

All owners of the model seem to have the same problem. Presently there is no 10.8.2 updater for your model. The previous updater has been pulled. Wait a while and one will show up when Apple gets it fixed.

  • Where do i enter my osx mountain lion code?

I have recieved my activation code from Apple for OS X Mountain Lion. Where do I go (whats the link) to enter this code and upgrade to save me $20?

The Apple Support Communities are an international user to user technical support forum. As a man from Mexico, Spanish is my native tongue. I do not speak English very well, however, I do write in English with the aid of the Mac OS X spelling and grammar checks. I also live in a culture perhaps very very different from your own. When offering advice in the ASC, my comments are not meant to be anything more than helpful and certainly not to be taken as insults.
    1. Open the Mac App Store.
    2. Make sure that you are signed into your account in the Store menu.
    3. Clcik the Redeem link in the Quick Links on the right hand side of the Featured pane.
    4. Enter the code to redeem and begin the download of the Mt Lion installer.

  • Still haven't recieved my OSX Mountain Lion code (110 hours)

I requested my redemption code on the day Mountain Lion was released and I still have not recieved it 5 days (approx. 110 hours) later.
When I spoke to apple 3 days ago they said I would recieve it within 24 hours, bu they are allowed 72 hours from the time of request.
So when can I expect it, Im getting really dissapointed with Apple not living up to thier promises.

Thanks for your input DS store.
I have a brand new Macbook Pro 15" 2.2 GHz, and was purchased within the up-to-date OSX Lion free upgrade period.
I use my mac primarily for basic things: Web, music, socialising.  If some more advanced programs wont work on Lion yet i'm not really concerned.  I do most of my serious business on my beast mode PC

  • OSX Mountain Lion download not included on MBPr 15"?

    Hello everybody!
I have a Macbook pro retina 15" and just accidently bought mountain lion via appstore beacuse a thought it was free as my macbook was shipped with mountain lion. I was not logged in on my account so the buy button did say the price, I just assumed it should be free as I already have it on my mac so i pressed it and logged in on my account to proceed the download, I got a receipt of it today.
should it be this way? I just wanted to make and USB bakup of the OS for future needs. It's not alot of money, I just think it is a bit wierd.

Since your system came with Mountain Lion pre-installed you wouldn't use the App Store version as your pre-installed version is specific to that machine.
To get the InstallESD.dmg file for your version of ML you need to redownload it using the following steps:
Restart using Command+R into the Recovery HD.
Plug in an external USB drive with at least 20GB.
From the OS X Utilities menu select Reinstall OS X.
Follow the prompts and make sure you point to the external USB drive to install to.
IMPORTANT: You need to keep an eye on the download and as soon as it finishes and restarts your system (at the black screen), UNPLUG the external USB drive.
After you system restarts and you get to your Desktop, plug the external USB drive into your system and navigate to a folder name something like "OS X Install Data Files". Inside there you will find the InstallESD.dmg file.
Copy the InstallESD.dmg file to your Desktop.
Plug in a USB thumb drive (8GB). Make sure it is formated as Mac OS X Extended - Journaled and with the GUID partition table. This makes it bootable.
Open Disk Utilities; then the Restore tab.
Drag the InstallESD.dmg file to the Source text box.
Drag your USB thumb drive to the Destination text box.
Click Restore. This will create a bootable USB thumb drive with the pre-installed OS X Mountain Lion for your machine
    Good luck!

  • My OSX Mountain lion will not download because I have "no support"

I have a Macbook Pro, I bought the new software tonight and can't download it, help please!

I think the subject line and the signature is the necessary clue.   Tjh14, your signature says you are running 10.7.5, this is just plain old Lion.  Mountain Lion is 10.8 and above.   Am I correct in assuming that your software says it needs Mountain Lion 10.8?  If it does, then you need to upgrade to 10.8, which is a paid upgrade.   You also need to make sure everything else you have is Mountain Lion compatible and backup your data before upgrading.

  • The share Button in Notification center of OSX Mountain Lion Does not let you tweet links

By default a link in twitter is shortened .But in notification center when you try to tweet from the share link button the link is not shortened . This seems to be a bug

Hadn't noticed that before. You could use a link shortener first like
    https://bitly.com
but agree that's a bit inconvenient.

  • Mission control on OsX mountain lion

My mission control on OsX mountain lion  does not smoothly zoom out or in when showing all the apps, how do I restore that function?

Apple are revamping support, you'll see something like this - select Apps and Software etc:
...next screen should have Purchases, Billing and Redemption links.
