OSX Speaker fill from 2.1 to 5.1 ?

Hi everybody!
I'm a Windows user who aquired a Macbook Air 2012 about a year ago, and I have Genius 5.1 speakers.
The problem is that when i play stereo songs(2.0 or 2.1 channels) i only get the left and right speakers working, now I know that this is how it supposed to work since they are 2.1 and not 5.1, but Windows has the option: Speaker Fill, which as named will do stuff to take advantage of those extra speakers.
now the question is:
Is there any similar option to do so in OSX?
or
Is there a special player (or plugin) that does this? I did a lot of searching and i installed too many complicated tools that I have failed to deal with.

for the folks who are having the same problem i found something pretty called VOX player for mac, it has the option to fill the speakers if the song isn't 5.1
im currently looking for somethign similar for playing movies ...

Flash Player no longer using the 'speaker fill' option in Windows.

The latest update of Flash Player breaks the 'speaker fill/sound enchancement' feature of Windows. i.e whenever I play some online videos only 2 of 6 speakers will output sound. Previously all 6 (1 Subwoofer + 5 speakers) used to play audio. I can confirm the issue with both Chrome & Firefox (I was using an older build of Flash Player 11.x in Firefox so the Audio was fine but when I upgraded to 11.3.x the compatibility was broken). So how am I supposed to fix this issue?
It's not a software/driver error btw as everything else works fine, audio from Media Player or any other sound application will play on all speakers.
In short worlds: This newer version of Flash player just 'bypasses' the 'System Effects/Speaker Fill/Sound Enchancements' of Windows. It just plays the audio directly but on only 2 Speakers since my System requires these 'System Effects/Speaker Fill/Sound Enchancements' to ouput sound on all speakers. So why did adobe change this?

I am also having this exact same problem and it is infuriating. And I am not seeing a quick download links to the previous version unless it was the last major version change and I don't want to go back that far. I am using a Creative Titanium X-fi PCI-e sound card with a Sandybridge chipset (2700k). My sound works fine in anything that isn't flash and I have also tested in multiple browsers.

You don't have sound effects either, latest driver does not have itm lost mine no thanks to LiveUpdate, that is why I got rid of it quickly (should have known better) and had to look for an older version. Currently my version is 6.0.1.6873 has both.
You may have it with the drivers of the MB CD.

Tried to upgrade to osx 10.9 from 10.7 and I didn't notice that it downloads in the launcher. I turned my mac off and ever since then it has glitched out and will not download no matter what I do. I have had it for 3 years which is out of warranty.

Go to your Applications folder and find a file called "Install OS X Mavericks". Send it to the trash and delete it. Then try the download again.

VFL Speaker sound from both the front speakers while FR sound is not coming out at all.

I have a creative gigaworks s750 connected to a xtreme gamer sound card. The system was working absolutely fine but now it has started behaving very strangely; system is playing back Front Left Speaker sound from both the front speakers while Front Right sound is not coming out at all. If i click the front right speaker in audio console speaker setup wizard, no sound comes. However when i click the front left speaker, sound comes out of both speakers. I counter checked it with playing 5.1 dts movie and muting all the speakers except the front left one from ac3 filter, sound came out of both the front speakers. However when i muted all the channel except the front right, no sound was coming out of front right speaker.

Just want to add another relieved reader of this thread. I had lost the sound to my speakers even though I had sound to headphones. I was convinced it was a damaged headphone jack because I had pushed the headphone plug in harder the last evening when my wife complained that she could still hear the speakers while I listened with the headphones. The next morning--no speaker sound.
I spent a few hours searching the web to see how to disassemble a satellite A505 and get to the jack. But I wasn't even sure I could get a proper replacement jack that fit, and I was concerned that small damage, say to the ribbon connectors could render the computer useless--a large price to pay for just missing audio.
Fortunately, I stumbled onto this thread and I recalled I had put the unit to sleep the night before--something I don't usually do, but I didn't want all the Chrome web sites to have to reload so I just put it to sleep.
When I put it to sleep again and fired it up--Sound! I am so glad to find this solution so I just want to let people know it remains a viable option.

Insert into dropdown list filled from database

Hi,
I have a dropdownlist which is filled from a database. I want to insert an empty/dummy option at index 0. I couldn't find when the rowset execute in the code( the autogenerated constructor have datasorce and command setup but no execute()), and don't how to modify the data from the database. Any help or suggestions? thanks.

It doesn't work if the selectOneMenu uses a converter. (I assume it works if the used values are just strings.)

But OSX 10.6.8 is still there & the image of OSX Mountain Lion is in my dock with the caption "OSX Mountain Lion -- Paused" !!! ...Now ANOTHER 20 minutes have passed & no change nor other prompts nor info have come up!! I had never turned my iMac off so I still don't understand why the download paused, & when I looked in my Applications folder there was no Mountain Lion, but your words, "However, you can pause and resume the download as many times as you want" encouraged me to look deeper & try harder!! I clicked & double-clicked (& multi-clicked!) the Mtn Lion icon in my dock to no avail but finally, I clicked & HELD the click for about 7 seconds . . . . . . . & then a little pop-up came & asked me if I want to "Resume the download" or stop it!! So I slid the cursor over to "Resume..." & it's downloading again!! ~~I HOPE!! I guess 4.4 GB of OS update will take more than a little time to get in there!

Problem installing OSX 10.4 from Firewire DVD drive

Hi, I'd be very grateful if anyone can help... I've been trying to install OSX 10.4 from DVD loaded in an external Firewire Lacie DVD drive and haven't been successful yet. I have tried instructing startup from the DVD in System Preferences, holding Option on startup and selecting the DVD and also holding 't' on startup, which I was informed forced startup from an external Firewire device (this resulted in a large Firewire logo floating round the screen but after 10 minutes or so hadn't progressed into full startup). Having read some bits of info found on Apple support I can see there is some issue about installing OSX 10.4 from a DVD drive other than an internal Apple drive (although I can't see any explanation why). Could someone please let me know if there is another way of doing this? – I mainly want to get 10.4 installed because I want to get a new ipod which requires 10.4 rather than 10.3. Some external DVD drives support startup. Some do not.
Holding down the T key at startup makes the Mac go into FireWire Target Disk Mode. It will not help you start up from the DVD drive.
If you have another Mac with FireWire and a DVD drive, you can use FireWire Target Disk Mode to mount your Mac's hard drive on the other Mac's desktop. Then, you can use that other Mac to startup from the DVD and run the installer, pointing to your Mac's hard drive for the installation.

Main priority is voice activation upgrade. Ideas about how to proceed appreciated!

AFAIK, it's been over three years since a WinXP laptop or desktop PC has been sold; I specifically bought a laptop in June 2008 because it was being clearanced by that retail chain to meet Microsoft's deadline, and got it real cheap. It was tagged for the store manager to purchase, but he let me have it because I exceeded his expectations for the services I performed for his store and thought I deserved it. Anything that wasn't made for Vista-compatibility will be very iffy with Win7, IMO - so that basically rules out anything that was made before like Oct or Nov 2007.
Unless another DNS 11 user happens to see this thread and can verify whether it works in Firefox 6.0 or not, I don't what to recommend except for you doing a web search to see what other DNS / Firefox users have to say about compatibility.

Mavericks Safari form fill from keychain broken

I upgraded to Mavericks yesterday on one of my machines, and I think Safari form fill from keychain is broken.
I have 2 Google accounts that I use regularly. Lets call them accounts GA and GB.
When I attempt to sign into Google from Lion Safari, I get given the choice of which login to use (presumably because Google has stored the memory of GA and GB in a cookie), and then I get asked for the password for the one I have chosen (even though I am sure the password for both is stored in the keychain).
When I attempt to sign in from Mavericks Safari, I get the same first question as to which login I want, and then the screen for the one I have chosen. This time the password has been autofilled from the keychain, HOWEVER, no matter which login I have chosen, GA or GB, and no matter which account name is displayed GA or GB, safari always sends the details for account GA to google. I have no way of logging into account GB, and worse, I might think I have logged into account GB, but I am actually logged into account GA. Dangerous indeed if this were a bank login!
I may be able to get back to logging into GB if I removed google's cookies that have stored memories of GA and GB, but I have not tried this yet.
Anyone else seeing a problem like this?

Probably too late for you, but in case anyone else stumbles on this topic...
There are 2 approaches.
1- Copy the Form Values file over to the new computer. It is encrypted with a password in the user keychain, so you will have to copy that keychain over. If you dont want that keychain, then you would have to get just the safari autofill forms password out of the keychain, and change the new keychain safari value to match.
2- Decrypt the values, and use them for reference until it all gets populated back in naturally.

now first time we want to fill this empty from outside company .
we send them empties ,and they fill liquid, and return to us, and charge filling ( liquid) . we will pay for liquid
how we chould map this process. ( filling from out side ).

Then follow this procedure:
How to Install OS X Updates Successfully
A. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions:
Boot from your current OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. Then select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger) and/or TechTool Pro (4.5.2 for Tiger) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
B. Make a Bootable Backup Using Restore Option of Disk Utility:
Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
Select the destination volume from the left side list.
Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
Check the box labeled Erase destination.
Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field.
Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the external backup drive. Source means the internal startup drive.
C. Important: Please read before installing:
If you have a FireWire hard drive connected, disconnect it before installing the update unless you will boot from this drive and install the update on it. Reconnect it and turn it back on after installation is complete and you've restarted.
You may experience unexpected results if you have installed third-party system software modifications, or if you have modified the operating system through other means. (This does not apply to normal application software installation.)
The installation process should not be interrupted. If a power outage or other interruption occurs during installation, use the standalone installer (see below) from Apple Downloads to update. While the installation is in progress do not use the computer.
D. To upgrade:
Purchase the Snow Leopard Retail DVD from Apple's Online Store - $29.00.
Boot From The Snow Leopard Installer Disc:
Insert OS X Installer Disc into the optical drive.
Restart the computer.
Immediately after the chime press and hold down the "C" key.
Release the key when the spinning gear below the dark gray Apple logo appears.
Wait for installer to finish loading.
Follow the screen instructions for installing Snow Leopard.
E. If updating:
Download and install update(s)
Use Software Update, or
Download standalone updater(s).
