Osx Yosemite Mail unread count is not good

The unread folder of mail for osx Yosemite says there is one unread mail but the folder is empty ? I tried to right click on the folder and then select read all messages but this isn't working. How can I resolve this problem ?

Try re-indexing the mailboxes. This can take awhile if you have a lot of mail.

  • YOSEMITE MAIL DOCK COUNT STOPPED

Since I upgraded to Yosemite, the DOCK COUNT for Mail does not operate.  The settings in mail are set to show dock count but nothing shows.  The count DOES show opposite each folder that has unread content, but nothing shows in the dock

    Hi, bruceross.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
This sounds like the badge app icon option is not selected in System Preferences > Notifications > Mail.  If this preference is checked, try removing the preference and select it again.

  • Lion Mail Unread Count

In OSX Lion, Mail never shows an unread count in the dock.  The current setting is to display unread from the Inbox.  Any suggestions?  Thanks!

I'm experiencing something similar since I updated to Lion.
I have the preference set to Inbox only. However, the dock icon shows a figure only for unread messages in one of my accounts, not any others. The one account which does produce a count in the dock icon is my mac.com email account, which is the first account in my account list - if either of those things should happen to matter.
When I set the preference to all, the unread count displays correctly but includes such locations as my Spam folder - which obviously I don't care about since I only check it once a month or so to be sure something important wasn't indavertently marked as spam.

  • Mail unread Count out of Synch

I synch my mail with an Exchange server. My Inbox and two other folders alway show 1 unread (Inbox has got 3 unread). "Mark All Messages as Read" doesn't change the unread count. Rebuild, restart mail doesn't help neither…
    Any clue?

    Hey Barry
Thanks for your post. It works better now. Do you have some background info about what's happening with mail here? Is it a communication problem with the mail server or so?

  • Mail Preview Function is not good as Tiger Mail!

Hi, I have currently upgraded to Leopard found that the system is much more powerful. As I received many emails everyday and mail program is one of the programs that I used most. I found that the preview function in Leopard mail is not good as tiger mail. If the mail comes with only few photos, it still ok to open them, but I found that if it comes with more than 10 or more, the preview function try very hard to load the photos and the rainbow balloon keep on running until the system hanged.
I had tried the function in Tiger Mail with over even 100 photos but still fine, I don't know why Leopard Mail will that weak as it just a simple function. I don't know you guys have this problem or not but I found this function very useful and convenient, and I hope Leopard won't let me disappointed.

  • OSX Yosemite Mail Drafts

Mail in OSX 10.10 Yosemite is not able to "copy to" email drafts like it could before the upgrade to Mavericks. Is this being corrected?

I have encountered a related issue...
Changes to the subject of a draft email do not save one you have created an initial draft.  I changed the subject of a draft email - finished the email only to discover that it was sent with the original and wrong subject.  I've subsequently noticed that I can no longer change any subjects in drafts - it always defaults back to whatever was first written in the subject box.
Very frustrating - hopefully it will be fixed soon.

  • Mail trash count does not synch

I'm running the eprint app on an iPad.  My Deleted Messages folder does not synchronize as my other mail folders do - the count of items is stale.  The count of items is 25000, which it was the day I set this up a week or so ago.  My current Deleted Items folder contains 5000 items.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Dan

You quote your Mail as being 4.5.   On Snow Leopard 10.6.8 you should be using Mail 4.6. (1085)  Why is this?

  • Mail flag count does not match the number of flagged emails on iMac

I have seven emails noted in the "Flagged" category on my iMas (OsX) but my flagg oount shows "8".  I have tried rebuidling, looking at support comments, etc. but nothing seems to work for the latest software update.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you very much.

Ok, There are a few more things that may help out (and please remember I'm only a novice at this too, but I'm trying to 'Pay it Forward')... 1) Try 'Synchronizing all Mail Accounts (it's an option in Mail under the pull down screen labeled 'Mailbox' (and remember, you will have to 'Restart' your Mac for the changes to take effect!) or try 2) Rebuilding your Mail account (probably an option of last resort) or 3) Go into Advanced options and delete any extraneous mailboxes you may have inadvertently created. (and Restart your Mac each time!) Good luck, have patience and write again if you have too.

  • Mail unread count

I have installed the latest Lion upgrade - 10.7.3 (11D50d).
I know have a problem with my mail inbox constantly showing 6 unread mails against my Exchange mail account when the real count is 0.  iPhone and the hosted eExchange web mail portal displays the correct number.
Anybody had the same problem and/or knows how to resolve it?
    Thanks
    D

If only messages in one or two mailboxes have this condition, then with each mailbox click on Mailbox in the menubar and choose Rebuild. Be aware that during Rebuild all messages will briefly disappear -- don't panic, but let it finish.
You can also select all messages in each mailbox, click on Message in the menubar and choose Mark as Read.
This is an indexing problem, and there is a way to force Mail to reindex all mailboxes. If that were needed, I would want to point you to instructions that can differ if you only have POP accounts, versus IMAP.

  • Google Mail in Apple Mail - Unread Counter Doesn't Update

I have a minor but annoying problem with my Google Mail email account on Apple Mail. When I receive a new email to my Google Mail account, Apple Mail displays the unread mail counter as expected. However, once I read the new email in my inbox, the email counter for the inbox sets to 0, but the counter for Google Mail (on the left hand side) remains at 1. If I then expand the Google Mail account at the left hand side, the counter updates itself without clicking the supposed unread email. This doesn't happen with other email accounts I have in Apple Mail. Any ideas?
    Cheers.

  • OSX Yosemite Guest Account Internet is not working.

The Admin has internet access but the Guest Account doesn't. Can anyone help?
    Thanks.

I'm not using VMware anymore and switched to free Oracle VirtualBox, but the concepts are the same. The default virtual machine NAT adapter is only good for connecting to the Internet using DHCP on behalf of the host OS and cannot be used to address the guest OS from outside.
You need to configure the bridged network adapter, or a combination of NAT for outgoing and host-only for incoming network traffic. There is plenty of info on the web and the VMware knowledgeable or Google about using the virtual network editor.

  • Mac OSX Yosemite   Wacom Intuos 4 - Painting not possible due to terrible brush lags

I recently updated my iMac (27", end of 2013, 3,5 GHz intel core 7, 16 GB Ram + Nvidia GeForce GTX 780M 4096mb) to OS X Yosemite, and also installed the new driver for my wacom intros 4 tablet (version 6_3.9w5).
But since OS X 10.10, I got nothing but troubles with CS6 (version 13.0.6) - whenever I try to paint with a brush (it doesn't matter which one I choose), the stroke gets applied laggy and delayed. I already installed the white windows plug-in but nothing changed.
When this happens and I try to quit PS, most of the time it says the program stopped working and I need to force quit it.
When I use my mouse in PS, on the other hand, every stroke is fast and smooth as it used to be.

I had the SAME problem. This worked for me:
Before, I was running Yosemite 10.10 on an iMac i7
I had the latest driver from Wacom (I tried a couple of older drivers, to no avail)
I'm running PS CS6, with all update
I'm using a Wacom Intuos 5 medium tablet
I was getting super bad lag while using the brush and other tools. Let's say I'd open an image to edit. After selecting the keyboard shortcut for my brush, I'd make one pass with the brush on the image. The brush stroke would be there, but it wouldn't show up in the history palette. Only after making another brush stroke would the previous action be recorded in the history palette. I was lagging real bad. In between brush strokes I wouldn't be able to change tools or even change the size of my brush. Nothing worked. I'd have to click off the image to regain control, or click the trackpad to regain control. BTW, the trackpad worked perfectly. NO lag for anything in PS. The polygonal lasso tool, one of my favorite selection tools, was basically unusable with the lag. I'd have to click several times before it would catch up and then sometime it would just randomly close the selection. So that was useless.
Ok, so that's what was happening to me. My tablet was basically useless. It took triple the time to work with it.
All I did was update Yosemite to 10.10.1 and the tablet now works PERFECTLY in photoshop cs6 for me. I'm not sure you'll get the same results but it worked for my computer. I really didn't think it would work so I was pleasantly surprised when it did.
I had tried installing older wacom drivers. Didn't work.
I tried reinstalling PS CS6 in a new user profile on my Mac. Didn't work.

  • OSX Yosemite version 10.10 will not play adobe tutorial videos in photoshop or online.

I tried updating flash and java with no luck.

Probably one of many new bugs introduced in Yosemite.  Apple will have to fix all those bugs.

  • Apple Mail Not Showing Inbox Unread Count on Dock after installing Mavericks

After installing Mavericks, my Apple Mail (connected to my work's Gmail account) stopped showing the Inbox's unread count on the dock. I switched it to "all mailboxes" to see if that would make a difference, and the dock shows 7 unread emails when there are actually none. When I switch it back to "Inbox" unread counts, it shows nothing. I've waited 15 minutes after receiving an email to see if it will show an unread message in the dock, but it does not. Does anyone have a fix for this?
    Thank you!

Quit your mail entirely, then in terminal do:
    mv ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/Envelope* ~/Desktop
This moves all your "Envelope Index*" files to your desktop.  An alternative is deleting the files, but this allows you to keep them as a temporary back-up (you can delete them at-will later).  Also, you can move the files from Finder instead of Terminal, if you prefer.
After the files have been moved, re-open Mail
This should re-load all your email messages, updating/restoring the count
While this works, it does not explain the reason the count goes missing, nor does it ensure that the count won't go missing again in the future, but at least it's a temporary workaround.

  • Iphone 3g 2.2 mail (mobileme) not updating unread count

hello. i have an iphone and recently updated to 2.2 (not sure if this has anything to do with it) and have a mobileme account.
push works fine, and if i mark a message as read on the iphone (i.e. read it), it updates the mobileme web interface OK. but if i change the unread status on the web interface it doesn't update the iphone mail count.
the only way to update it is to keep opening and running the mail app - which seems pointless. I have set up to fetch every 15 mins and yet even after waiting an hour it still doesn't update the count to match the web interface!
I am obviously doing something wrong, can anyone help me please?

I've found deleting and reinstalling the account in Mail.app and on the iPhone helps. Now when I read on the iPhone it updates very quickly on the desktop. But when I read on the desktop it doesn't update quickly on the iPhone. But it will if I launch the mobilemail.app.
Previously no amount of launching would help update the unread count on either application. So, I've gotten over half-way there.
