OSX Yosemite Safari login SharePoint 2013 by SSL

Our company's SharePoint 2013 has set to https://, in intranet, I can use Macbook Pro Safari to login website and run BI very smoothly. but in home, I can't open the website. very strange is I can use iPad safari in home to login website by https
without VPN. does any expert can help ?

I fixed, original I set the SharePoint 2013 IP address in /private/etc/hosts, after delete. it's working.

If I am not mistaken IIS 6.0 has a default domain name setting, but please verify..
This is *incorrect* for SharePoint sites.
There the server name is always assumed as the "domain".
So writing in only username would work fine if username is a local user on the server where the SharePoint system is running but not otherwise.
Instead of bothering about needing to write domain name in addition to username, the problem should be avoided altogether by
a) making sure that the site is in the Intranet Security Zone for IE 6 / 7 and that the default value of "automatic login only in the Intranet zone" is still selected.
OR
b) if the site isn't in the Intranet, by specifying for the IE Security zone that it is in that Login is "automatic login using current name and password".
The way we've done this is to configure ONLY Basic Authentication in the IIS site and then add the domain to the Default domain text box. This works fine, but unfortunately sends a user's credentials in clear text. To prevent this, we used a
self-signed SSL cert to keep traffic encrypted even though its using Basic Authentication.
Of course you may want to experiment with using both Integrated Windows and Basic Authentication and possibly get a mixture of both behaviors

OSX Yosemite Safari MB Pro Retina

I updated to Yosemite 10.10.1 a while ago and have been having issues with safari. The window will randomly freak out and keep flashing. Whenever it happens it just gets worse and worse with time till i quit the app. Is there any fix for this? It usually happens when I'm moving my mouse or trying to type something in. Thanks@

Have you installed all the Photoshop updates and MacOS 10.10 updates?
Disabling GPU usage in Photoshop should help with the video driver bugs in MacOS 10.10, until Apple can solve all the driver issues (yes, Apple knows about them and is working on solutions).
What does the long, detailed crash log say?
Also, anything that freezes, shuts down, or reboots the machine is not an application error - but caused by an OS bug, a low level driver bug, or faulty hardware. Applications simply cannot cause those symptoms on modern OSes.

OSX Yosemite & safari..

Previously had a shortcut bookmark icon on my safari, it has gone with the upgrade, and can't find an icon to place in my toolbar. Apart from the shortcut keys, anyone found the icon?
Also not liking the way web pages stack up, there is no longer the double > directional on the right when you've got more pages loaded than can fit on the viewable tabs, hv discovered that they weirdly stack up, and sometimes squash up to the left, but sometimes not... They're pretty hard to spot unless actively looking :-(

It sounds like you are closing the Safari window with the red close button before you quit Safari. When Safari is quit and reopened it opens the windows that were active (open) when it was quit.
Automatically re-open windows, apps, and documents on your Mac - Apple-kundestøtte
For example, when you quit Safari, any webpages you're viewing are fully restored the next time you open Safari.
By closing the window before you quit Safari you are telling Safari not to automatically open it on relaunch. Leave the windows open instead when you quit Safari.
Note there are other ways to get to previously opened sites.

See pages you visited in this window or tab:
Click the Back button or Forward button in the toolbar. If you have a trackpad or mouse that supports gestures, swipe left or right to move through your history
Choose from a list of previous pages:

SharePoint 2013 SSRS SQL 2012 SP1 and Mac Safari 5.1 or 6.0 report issues

I have been try to figure out an issue that only seems to be affecting Safari 5.1 or 6.0 on OSX 10.6.8 or 10.7. I can view the same reports as the same user on the same Mac as the same user in Chrome 27.0.1453.116 or Firefox 22. I have also tested
iPads (iPad2 iOS 6.1), Android tablets and phones (ICS 4.0.4 and JB 4.2.2), and even an Microsoft Surface and they all work fine.
The issue is when viewing a report through SharePoint 2013 in Safari regardless of if the report has parameters or not is it looks like the page just keeps reloading. The problem is not that I can't see the report viewer which is most of the issues
related to SSRS 2008R2 and 2012. I can see the report view and I can even put in parameters. However when I click Apply the follow activity occurs.
On Safari the following occurs
POST: RSViewerPage.aspx
GET: 302 Found default.aspx /_login: Size 0B, Transfer 1.67KB
GET: 302 Found default.aspx /_windows Size 0B, Transfer 1.15KB
It seems like the browser is redirected to login again. If I do this with a report that does not have parameters the "Loading" gif will appear forever with the same cycle going on with the page loading over and over. I did read something about
Safari not supporting pass through authentication in 5.1. However if that is the problem then why is Safari listed as a supported browser, or not listed with that caveat on the browser support page?
In Chrome this same set of step 302 to occur if I do not use the report for a while. After hitting apply the report appears to refresh to a blank report without any parameter values selected. The POST/GET activity mimics what I am seeing for Safari.
However unlike Safari, if I immediately put the parameters in again and click apply the report works as expected. Also when the report loads as expected I do not see the 302 to default.aspx /_login and /_windows.
So what is different about Safari on OSX that is preventing it from displaying reports correctly when just about every other supported OS/Browser combination including some that aren't officially supported work perfectly fine with the same report?

That Connect Bug (see previous post) has got a response from Matt at Microsoft. He advised that Mac Safari support for SSRS 2012 only works for Mac OS X 10.6 - 10.7. It seems some breaking change was introduced in Mac OS X 10.8.

So he has closed it as "Resolved - By Design".
Our Macs are currently on OS X 10.9 and 10.10 was recently released.
SQL 2014 might offer better support - I have one client planning to start upgrading in the New Year.

Does ADFS work with SharePoint 2013 with WFEs SSL-offloaded to a F5 load balancer?

Currently we are implementing a SharePoint 2013 Production environment with 2 WFEs load-balanced by F5. SSL is offloaded to F5 and is currently working fine with Integrated Windows Authentication with NTLM. We would like to implement ADFS 3.0
later for Single Sign-on, and we are wondering if ADFS supports SSL offload.
Do we need to bind the certificate to the WFEs as well to use ADFS?

Just got it confirmed that ADFS supports SSL offload. There is no direct communication between SharePoint and ADFS server during the authentication process. It is always the browser that's talking to ADFS server. We just need to do the following:
Configure SharePoint URLs in ADFS as replying parties with https.
Configure AAM in SharePoint to make sure internal URL is http and public URL is https.

Issues with WebDav over SSL via Terminal Server when Accessing SharePoint 2013

We have deployed a terminal server from which multiple users access and heavily use SharePoint 2013 (hosted on a separate server). The SharePoint site is published to the internet and is operating over an SSL certificate. Over the last few months we have
been encountering a randomly occurring issue where all the users become unable to use Open with Explorer or mapped drives to access the site. During this time they can still access the site through the browser OK and download files etc. This issue sometimes
reoccurs every few days, although at points it hasn't occurred for a couple of weeks before resurfacing.
Current Terminal Server Config
TS 2008 R2 Enterprise
Site added to Trusted Sites. (have checked during broken time and still recognized as trusted)
Using IE 11, site added as compatibility view
Registries updated as below

My test result are below:
Restarting the SharePoint server or the terminal server will resolve the behaviour
until the issue occurs again.
Users on the terminal server can still open the
ttps://clientsite2.harrierhc.com
URL (this url is bound to the same UCC cert) with open with explorer during this time.
While users are unable to access the ttps://clientsite.harrierhc.com
URL, if they access the same site from WebDAV with a separate binding (e.g. ttp://clientsite the behaviour works fine.
All other users not on the terminal server can still use the open with explorer behaviour during this time.
IIS reset on the SP Server & restarting the web client service on the terminal server have no impact
Reimporting the IIS certs have no impact
There are numerous errors in both server’s event logs but none at the time of the issue instigation.
Clearing the IE cached certificates has no impact
Going to IE properties for the site and clicking the ‘Install Certificate’ has no impact

based on your experiences, I'd like to know which SSL certificates are good in order to apply them for more web applications in a SharePoint 2013 farm. Saying a good SSL certificate I intend a SSL certificate not more expensive. The idea is to buy one
certificate with 1 or 2 year licence and use it for two, three, ... web applications.
Fe, I've a look to Thawte certificates but I don't find any info talking about the possibility to apply one certificate for more web applications.
Any suggests to me, please?

A single-host certificate applies to one host, or a single Web Application using Path-based Site Collections.
A SAN certificate applies to multiple, limited number of hosts for use with multiple Web Applications using Path-based Site Collections (or in a limited fashion, Host-named Site Collections).
A Wildcard certificate applies to an unlimited number of hosts, or an unlimited number of Web Applications using Path or Host-named Site Collections.
You want a wildcard, unless you have a good reason to not want a wildcard.

Safari slow after OSX Yosemite 10.3.3 update

Hi, this week I ran the OSX Yosemite 10.3.3 on my MacBook Pro. Since then I note that accessing websites is incredibly slow in the beginning. The progress bar under the Safari address line stops at the 1st third for several minutes . The only thing that helps is to close Safari and restart it again.
I have already rebooted the MacBood and disabled all Safari ad-ins. The network is as fast as usual (6 MBits/s) on my IPAD.
Any ideas

I'm sorry to hear you are having this issue with Safari after a recent update. If you continue to have slow initial loading of webpages, you may want to check for the issue outlined in the following article:

I am trying to configure our sharepoint 2013 for external access. Users are not part of our domain and don't have accounts in it and they need to access sharepoint page to work on projects. Now is it possible to install adfs and configure so that users use
live ID to login to sharepoint? If so how to do it?

Azure Control Services (ACS) supports WILD. You would need to integrate into that for this purpose.

How to allow Window Azure AD users to login to my On Prem SharePoint 2013

Hi guys,
A bit new to this technology, would like to check for my above (Subjcet) scenario. How can i achieve by doing that?
Assuming i have a local AD and SP Farm built (NOT in Azure Platform) and now all my users accounts are with Azure AD cloud.
