Ot: adobe premiere export for youtube

Hello,
I know this is off topic but thought i would ask the question
any way as no
one really replies to the adobe premiere forums.
any way my question is this
I have a digital video camera which shoots at 16:9 format
what would I be best exporting it at for the use on youtubes
new format. I
would be grateful for advice on what should my export presets
be and my
pixel aspect ratio.
if any one can offer advice I am grateful
cheers
k

I do not have PP open on this machine...but, I believe you
set your
workspace to render at whatever dimensions you want. Also,
look at the
presets in the export.

  • Exporting For YouTube - Premiere Pro CS5 (Canon XL2)

I shot a promo video with my Canon XL2, and would like to upload the finished product to YouTube at the highest possible quality in order to help promote the company I work for.
Footage shot in 30p at 29.97 fps, 16:9 - NTSC.
Sequence settings are all correct and match my footage perfectly.
I have exported the video as H.264, AVI, MOV, MP4, MP2, WMV and countless other formats. When played on my computer the video quality is SUPERB. I am ecstatic at how it turned out, HOWEVER, when I upload the video -in any format- to YouTube, it looks absolutely horrible - as though it were shot with a webcam.
Does anyone have any advice as to what I might be doing wrong? Anyone had any experience with the XL-2 and Premiere Pro videos being ugly when uploaded to YouTube?
    Thanks a bunch!

Be very careful when using Adobe's presents for YouTube, Vimeo, etc.  They have a fixed frame rate but it doesn't always match your source frame rate and this adds additional render time and can drop or add (adding is much worse) frames.
The worst offender is a preset that is for non drop-frame 30.0 fps (instead of drop frame 29.97) because every 3 seconds 3 frames get added.
Also be aware that when exporting for the web (or most anything other than to DVD), you want to use square pixels.
This might require a bit of tweaking with the presets but it is well worth the effort.
864x480 is the square pixel equivalent to 720x480 widescreen (1.21...).
For more indepth info on the presets (and my rants on the matter) - have a look at my CS5 and C5.5 articles.

  • Editing iMovie files with Adobe Premiere Elements for Windows

    Hi,
My 12 year old asked for Final Cut Pro for Christmas to edit movies he takes on his iPod touch and iPad. However, he has a Windows-based desktop. As I understand it, Final Cut Pro is not a Windows-based program. I thought we could get him Adobe Premiere Elements for Windows, but will he be able to manipulate his iMovie files easily? I have no idea what format the iMovie files are. Will he be able to download them to his Windows desktop, edit his movie, and then upload back to his Apple devices? Thanks!

    clue
Bottom line: Making distinction between video editor project files and formats of exports.
    Details...
The iPod touch and iPad typically offer video files H.264.mov or H.264.mp4 formats. This is not a Mac versus Windows matter because we are talking exports (.mov and .mp4) not project files from a video editing project.
He should be able to take his iPod or iPad device videos and edit them in Premiere Elements. And, then he should be able to return them to his device(s).
But, many of these devices record video with a variable frame rate (depending on the lighting conditions to a great extent). Premiere Elements (any version) can have problems with such video to the extend (a) out of sync audio (b) cannot import file at all. I have a iPod Touch 4th Generation and have no Premiere Elements importing/editing/exporting problems with my 1280 x 720 @ 30 progressive frames per second (H.264.mov) video from that iPod.
Below is an excerpt of Premiere Elements 13 exports that might be of interest...

The ideal way would be to look at the tryout of Premiere Elements 13 before purchase. If not possible, then, if purchased from Adobe direct, there
should be an opportunity for money back within 30 days of purchased. If purchased from an authorized reseller, then the refund/return would be according to the policy of the retailer.
Please let us know if you are OK with the above information. If you need more information, please do not hesitate to ask. If clarification on anything that I have written is needed, please let me know.
    Thank you.

  • Can I use the songs that come with adobe Premiere Elements for commercial use/film?

Can I use the default songs that come with adobe Premiere Elements for commercial use; such as in a film?

    C. Raio
We are not Adobe here. Rather user to user.
In the threads that I have read here the following is the user to user reply on this matter that is seen regarding project assets....Music Scores in this case....
The Music Score soundtracks are from the Adobe Premiere Elements (12 or 13) Music Score selections within the program.
And, they can be used in the users choice of export. As for "authorship", I guess you would point to Adobe, Premiere Elements version, Music Score.
Would the evaluators settle for the above information?

Well, when I start working (should I say try to work with FCPX, activity monitor in the %processor column for FCPX jumps rapidly over 100% and reaches more than 200% ??? What the **** is that ?
200% or more is not strange. Remember that your mac has 4 cores (you say it's 3 months old, so I assume it is a new model), so 200% amounts to using 2 of these 4 cores to the max.
Regarding the question of creating a new admin user: while it sits in the same system, it may help if the problem is caused by some user-specific preferences or settings. Not likely in your case, since you seem to have reinstalled from scratch, but still it is worth a try. It takes 5 minutes and may help pinpoint the problem.

  • Exporting for YouTube Videos?

Hi, I have a fifteen minute video (320 x 180) that I'd like to upload to YouTube, but I can't find a decent preset for exporting it. When I try to export with MPEG2, the resulting video has an odd, jerking motion to it. MPEG4 exports everything as blurrily as possible. AVI works great, but the file sizes are all way over 2 gigabytes, which is YouTube's limit. The only one that works, it seems, is WMV, but each file takes 2+ hours to upload, and, once online, the videos load excruciatingly slowly.
So, for those of you who export for YouTube: What presets do you use?

I export to YouTube on a daily basis... here is a screen capture of my settings for HD and SD, respectively. For both, Audio is set at AAC Stereo, 48kHz, High quality, 128kbps, and multiplexing is at mp4 with standard stream compatibility (though iPod seems to work just as well).

    Try this

close all browser windows, then run the uninstaller

  • Premiere Pro CS3: bad video quality when exporting for YouTube

    Hi!
I'm a newbie to this forum and yes, I've looked for an answer before posting. I'm also pretty new to Premiere Pro and I hope that the problem I'm having is more my fault than Premiere's (it most likely is.)
I have project, a little YouTube-Video. But whenever I export it, the quality is really poor. I've also tried rendering it with Windows Movie maker and, strangely enough, the quality is much better and closer to the original file. My big question is: what am I doing wrong?
    Here are some additional info:
    Adobe Premiere Pro CS3
Windows 7 Professional, 32 Bit (PC)
The movie file was shot with a Sony DSC-W170 and is an .mpg file
    Video:
    640x480
    10418kBit/s (total: 10483 kBit/s)
    30fps
    Audio:
    64kBit/s
    Mono
    32kHZ
    Project settings: DV-Pal
    Standard-PAL-Video (4:3 Interlaced).
    48 kHz (16 Bit) Audio
I used the Adobe Media Encoder for the export, H.264/YouTube. I've also tried several other settings, but I never get as good a result as with the Windows Movie maker. Can anyone please tell me how I can fix this? (Maybe the quality of the video already suffers when I import the files into Premiere Pro? The video in the source and the cutting window is very blurry.)
Here you can see for yourself what it looks like:
File rendered with Adobe Premiere CS3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTAyx6O27Dg
File rendered with Windows Movie Maker: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVeoUOfM_uo&feature=youtu.be
I hope somebody can help me. If you need additional info which I haven't provided, ask away. Thank you so much in advance for your replies!

    YT is set to privet.
Keep project settings and export settings same as camera.
Try H.264 (mp4) for export instead.

  • HUGE PROMLEM WITH PREMIERE EXPORTING TO YOUTUBE! PLEASE HELP!

Sorry for the intriguing title, but I need to get your attention about my huge problem.
Hey, My name is Luke, I am the editor for an independent film group called unclekornicob. We are Teens who love making videos and short films, manly for Youtube. www.youtube.com/unclekornicob
We just upgraded our software from the Adobe Production Premium  7.5 to Adobe Production Premium CS5.5, manly for the Premiere Murcery play back engine, and the sweet new effects in after effects. But above all, we were SO excited to have our productions look sharp and clear in full 1080p, that takes up the full youtube video screen.
We use a Canon T2i (550 D) and the file format doesn't work the best in Adobe Premiere. So we use Adobe Media Encoder to change the .mov file to an AVI, which really helps the playback in post production.
But, when it comes time to render, we get stuck. We use the H.264 format with the "Youtube Widescreen HD" preset. It renders out smoothly, but uploading to youtube is the problem. It is SO nice how fast it uploads, but while watching it, theres 3 problems,
    1. There is a black box around the video, making it small.
    2. Its not in 1080, is just in 720
    3. Even in 720p the quality stinks, and we cant have that.
Please help, we are really stuck, and we want our productions to be perfect.
    Thanks!
    Luke

Yeah, I was hoping you wouldn;t say that!
This really helped though, switching the play back resolution help it alot, but still not good enough to edit on. Sorry if double posts are frowned upon.

  • Adobe premiere cs3 and youtube

    Hi Everyone,
Please give me some input on how I can use adobe premiere cs3 to create videos for youtube.... specifically... the videos that I will be working on will contain all of the same basic elements...
    1. Still Images and Clip art only... no moving video... I want help with uploading the stills/clip art and also with timing who long each still with stay up individually....
    2. Speech bubbles (the kind used in comic strips) timed to pop in above above the heads of those people or characters in the stills and clip art... I want help with timing when the bubbles come in and with creating them and saving them so that in future videos i won't have to create them again...
    3. Voice over parts done by me to read the parts in the bubbles timed for comic effect... I want help with steps on how to do this...
    4. Music added throughout the video just below my voice overs... same as above...
All of my videos will contain these elements... and I want to find an efficient way to set up adobe premiere the first time so that every time I go in to do my youtube videos in the future it will be just a matter of uploading the stills setting a time duration each still and the speach bubbles... reading the voice over, adding the music and then uploading it to youtube... I am new to the software and would appreciate any steps that could be give to help me accomplish these four goals...
    Thanks,
    John

the music you liked was made by chris duncan (who comes to forums but has been busy so hasnt been around lately ).. called " when goblins frolick " ...perfect title for the music.
probably should move this discussion to the lounge area cause it sorta has to do with learning some aspects of programs in general and certain techniques etc.. not really about cs3 and youtube per se...
but anyway..moderators will do that if they want to...
it is a little difficult at first to use photoshop to do what you want, and to use masks in cs3 or just fade graphics in and out and make them appear when wanted..move around etc...and also text issues ( sizes that show up OK on screen are usually pretty large ( pt ). But you'll find when you get past the initial learning part it will open up all sorts of very cool opportunity.. and freedom to do what you imagine...
AE is also used for animation stuff but I dont use AE myself...
if you search for animation tutorials using text baloons you may find some good one that walks you through the process...and maybe even you can find samples of things to download and experiment with on your computer.
my advice is to go ahead and learn what you can and do your own graphics etc .. cause that will open up all kinds of cool things for you to do .. not only in animation things but other things too ...
    good luck !
local library might have a good book on animation stuff using adobe products ( versions you have).. can usually search local libraries with computer at home...

  • Adobe Premiere CS3  To YouTube

I just exported a video from Premiere CS3 for uploading to YouTube.  After viewing it on YouTube, I see the quality is horrible.  When I went looking for any ideas about what I needed to do to correct the problem, I saw online that in CS4 there were additional options to choose from on the Preset drop-down menu.  Where I have only one instance of "YouTube" to choose from, CS4 has "YouTube SD", "YouTube Widescreen HD", and "YouTube Widescreen SD".  Certainly, there must be a way to get these same options installed into my older CS3 version.  I just don't know where to look for these presets.  Also, I don't know that I'm not having issues from other settings in my Export dialog box as well.  Below, I have included two images of screen captures showing my settings..
Thank you so much for anyone who can help me out,
    Gigmonger

    hmmm,
    I use cs3 too.
to cut to the chase, I use wmv to youtube sometimes with good results ( windows media )
I match the output to the source and use the below settings...and let youtube to its own thing once uploaded there...( it will do stuff to make it progressive and so on including ( possibly ) giving you a smaller dimension ( instead of 1080 it may be smaller )...) this depends if its getting a progressive or interlaced source file.
anyway, my sample is diff dimensions than yours..so match your own...do it with an image instead of a black frame so you can "see" the output image...export the wmv, upload to youtube and see how it looks...
use a small work area bar to do a test first...save time seeing how stuff looks on youtube
    adjust as needed

  • Adobe Premiere CS6 for Mac, doesnt display the "subtitle/closed captions" option.

    Hey there,
im trying to add subtitles to my Project as it is being described in this Video: http://tv.adobe.com/de/watch/training-f%C3%BCr-videographen/untertitel-mit-premiere-pro-cc -erstellen/
The option im looking for is  "Untertiel" (german for Subtitle) as seen in this screenshot I made of the Tutorial Video
No if I try to do the same thing i get this:
The option "Untertitel" is simply not there!?!?! Why?
    How can I get it?
As is said I use Adobe Premiere CS6 6.0.5 on my Mac
I would be sooo grateful for any help.
    Best regards

    Hi Michael,
The tutorial you are using as a reference point is for premiere pro CC.
However you are using CS 6 Premiere pro.
Closed captioning feature was introduced in Premiere pro CC.
I am afraid this feature is not present in CS 6 Premiere pro.
    Thanks
