[SOLVED] No HTML5 Audio output in Firefox

Hi folks, it seems I don't have any HTML5 audio output within Firefox and was hoping I could get some advice. Here's a run down of the situation:
Everything is unmuted in alsamixer.
Audio works through ALSA with every other application I've tried such as moc, vlc, mplayer etc.
I have an .asoundrc file which correctly sets the default and an alias for another card. I use it to switch audio when using mplayer sometimes.
I've used various HTML5 test pages that report audio tag and and playback is working.
Firebug console never reports any errors when trying to play audio within a page.
I've done a fair bit of searching but the documented solution is almost always to setup an .asoundrc config file, but I already have one.

Is there any way to change the output audio device for FireFox?

Hey,
I'm trying to output the audio from my FireFox browser to my external bluetooth speakers, and I can't figure out how to for the life of me. I'm using google play music (just made the switch from Chrome), and for some reason I can only get FireFox audio out of the system speakers. There seems to be no settings to change this in Windows or FireFox, can someone suggest a plug-in or workaround? Really don't want to go back to Chrome over some stupid issue like this.

I am pretty sure that the plug ins are responsible for this, My Compuer > Control Panel > Sounds and Multimedia Properties > Audio > Sound Playback, though the menu may be different in 8.1,

Links within a pdf won't open in Safari, but work fine on Explorer, Firefox

I created a pdf with embedded links and posted it to my site. The links within the pdf work just fine with Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox, but they will not open with Safari, neither on a Mac nor on a Windows platform.
Why is this happening and how can I fix it?

Try this. In the Safari window, click the Preferences icon right side of page.
Then select the General tab.
At the bottom of that window, below, "Open links from applications", choose the option you want.

My Laptop sound works fine with other browsers, but same audio played in Firefox browser is VERY low. Is there a fix for this?

I run Windows 7 on a Dell Laptop with i5 processor - SRS premium sound that works well except when using Firefox browser. Example of problem - listening to CNN news on TunedIn online Radio - volume cranked all the way up provides about 20% of the audio volume when listening to the same on Google Chrome.

Loader-Problem mit I.Explorer / FireFox ist OK

Die Domain "http://woopi.net"
enthält eine "site", die nur mit Flash generiert wurde.
Teste ich diese "Site" mit Firefox, dann gibt es keine Probleme, alles OK.
Teste ich mit dem Internet-Explorer, dann muß dieser erst lernen mit den LoaderKomponenten umzugehen,
nach dem 2. oder 3. "rollOver" werden dann diese Elemente richtig angezeigt.
Ziel-Beschreibung:
beim Aufruf von "woopi.net" wird auf dem Bildschirm die Bundesrepublik dargestellt.
Ein Klick auf die BRD öffnet ein Navigationsfeld mit 7 Button.
Der Klick auf den Button "Alle Banken in Deutschland" öffnet ein Navigationsfeld, in welchem bei einem RollOver
unten links auf dem Bildschirm ein Bild angezeigt wird, in einer LoaderKomponente.
Der InternetExplorer zeigt diese Bilder falsch an, erst nach dem 2., ev. nach dem 3. RollOver wird das Bild richtig angezeigt.
Unten rechts auf dem Bildschirm gibt es den Zugang zu einem weiteren Navigationsfeld, "WebKatalog 2".
Die Darstellung in diesem Navigationsfenster ist geradezu scheußlich.
Hinweis:
auch die Html-Seiten in denen die Flash-Seiten eingebettet sind, wurden mit Flash-Cs4 generiert.
Es wurden keine ProgrammErweiterungen verwendet.
Wer kennt die Problemlösung?

Das "Loader-Problem" zeigt sich aber schon in der "queue1.swf" Datei, welche nach _level1 geladen wird.
Es wird hier nur Actionscript 2 eingesetzt. Bemerkenswert ist, daß sich Firefox ohne Probleme sehr stabil verhält.
Vielleicht können Sie hiermit etwas anfangen. Wenn ein SreenShoot eine bessere Analyse ermöglicht, schiebe ich ein Bild gerne nach.

Compared to Internet Explorer, Firefox is very slow to load up websites. Why?

I was trying searching through some of the social security websites with Firefox. It would take up to 5 minutes for Firefox to load certain pages. When I copied/pasted the address into Internet Explorer the page came up immediately. Any suggestions?

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Why am I hearing unwanted audio (commercials) when Firefox is open?

When Firefox is open I sometimes hear unwanted audio, mostly commercials. What can I do to correct this?

Could be some incompatibility with 10.6.8 or something you added to your system.
Try downloading the 5.4.0.1771 version and see if you have any better luck.
FWIW, I just downloaded 5.3.59.1093 and it worked "ok" on my 10.6.5. Of course "ok" is a relative term when it comes to skype since Microsoft took it over!

No volume control for audio tag in Firefox 5

So this is the problem - after I installed Firefox 5, '''volume control''' for '''audio''' tag stopped showing when I move mouse pointer over the mute control. I have all other controls visible - pause/play and mute, but not the volume control.
This occurs only when I use audio tag. If I open pure .ogg or .oga file in FF5, everything is fine, but that's not usable for me since I need to have audio embedded in my web page.
Video tag is working well.
Is there anything I can do to fix this (without having to code volume control in JavaScript)?

K? No it's not perfectly normal. The software volume control should be done by the Window/Creative sound drivers BEFORE it is sent to the DDL/DTS encoder driver.
Today I found that I do now have limited volume control. However the Master/Device/Speakers volume still does not work, nor does the mute. However the individual applications in the win7 volume mixer work fine to control volume, but having to adjust these gets tidious.
I have no idea if this just suddlenly started working, I just missed it before, or if the webcam with its audio mic driver I just installed did something to it. But at least I do have some way to control volume now within windows. Now if only I can get the master slider to work. Anyone have any ideas? I found one other post on here where someone else was complaining about this very same problem with DDL.

I get no audio when on Firefox (shuch as Utube) but I get it everywhere else, what's wrong?

Prior to 2 days ago everything was working as expected. I was able to get audio along with video on various sites, Utube being one of them.
Then when I opened a previous working Utube site I got the video but not the audio. All audio volumes are up, I get full audio on all other programs but nothing when I access a site on Firefox.

Windows Vista and 7 include a mixer that allows you to selectively mute and control the volume of programs. You may have inadvertently muted Firefox.
Start playing a video, click the sound icon in your system tray at the bottom right of your screen (you may need to click the arrow to the left of the icons to see it), then select "Mixer". In the applications list on the right side, look for "Plugin Container for Firefox", and make sure the it's not muted or the volume isn't turned down.

I cant play audio only mp4 or mp3 file with audio tag in firefox...how to tackle this?

In my web application m trying to play audio only mpeg 4 or mp3 files.I m using HTML5 <audio> tag to accomplish this,it smoothly working in chrome but not in firefox.Why this basic support not avail in Firefox??
Note: I read about some patent issues with mp4 and mp3 but i wonder why chrome browser can play those files.

Audio plugins in Firefox

I always have problems with audio or video plugins in Firefox.
Please look at this page:

There are two buttons:
- pobierz (download)
- sluchaj (play)
If I use gxine - all I can get is error message.
If I uninstall gxine and intall mplayer-plugin, I can listen to audio, but I can't download it.
How do you browse such websites?

it's something to do with the encoding, apparently. i just set my browser to use the gxine plugin, and when the mp3 starts loading it crashes the plugin. it crashes it on slackware, too. the gxine plugin works for other mp3s, so the person probably just used some weird codec to make the mp3.

Unlike Internet Explorer, Firefox taking forever to load attachments! Why? Fix?

A few months ago, Firefox started taking FOREVER to load attachments to email. I have uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it, but that didn't help. I've done all other trouble shooting steps....rebooted computer.....cleared cache, cookies, and history.......run anti-virus checks......defragged.....etc.
If I use Internet Explorer for outgoing emails with attachments there are no challenges.
I love Firefox and want to use it.....help, please!
