people complaining about problems installing an office over another office are (dare i say it) stupid. it makes absolutely no sense installing one over the trial version. just uninstall the trial and you'll be fine. every single time.
as for problem with uninstalling mcafee (or any other antivirus, for that matter, just download the uninstaller from the software company e.g. http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?id=TS100507 for mcafee.
that said i believe you get to choose if you want mcafee and/or office when you go through the inital boot, the "on-screen instructions"
you can slow down the odd via power manager
and thanks for the tips on changing the reg to have the user profiles somewhere else!

  • Anybody in the bay area has 4g lte with vz or att?

i am planning on getting a new ipad with 4g but comfused which is faster in the bay area? i was curious on what's your guys thoughts?

You are not the only one Neo. I consistantly get slow 4g LTE speeds in the DFW metroplex. Over the last month I've run several speed tests and come back with less than 2Mbps download. During the 12 o'clock lunch hour I have to switch to 3G just to get any data at all. I thought it might be my phone (Samsung Galaxy Nexus) so I did a factory reset a while back which didn't help anything. Then I spoke with support on the phone who suggested I get a new SIM card at the local store. I did that, and it helped some. My speeds went up by changing the SIM card from less than 1Mbps to the less than 2Mbps I'm now recording. What I found interesting was that the rep at the store said that it would probably only get faster during non-peak hours. The reason speeds are so low on 4G LTE is because there are too many people using it for the infrastructure that is currently in place. That statement along with my continued dissatisfaction with the speeds I'm getting are making the competition look good. For any good it will do, I am mostly in zip codes 75248 and 75001.

  • Possible San Francisco Bay Area Assistance Needed

    Hello,
I'm in a bit of a jam and it's possible (about 50/50) that I may need a bit of assistance in the Bay Area next Thursday or Friday.
Apple is likely going to replace the motherboard on my Mac Pro this week.  Unfortunate.  It is covered under Apple Care, but the delay impacts my April 19 deadline for my film.
I have about 24 gig of video data from a Sandisk UDMA 32 gig card that I would like to offload so that I can shoot my final footage next weekend.  I have a 32 gig thumbdrive we can transfer it to.
The footage was shot on a Canon 5D and I would like to borrow someone's PrPro software here in the Bay Area, if necessary.
Alternatively, I could Fed ex the card and pay for return fedex as well.
    Thanks for considering this.

    Thanks Hunt.
Looks like I better go out and purchase a copy of the hilarious book "My First Movie" an interview with 20 famous directors about the fiascoes and adventures that accompanied their first film:

I backed up my media, but didn't have a spare MacPro when its motherboard went down!

  • Is Edge working anywhere in the San Francisco Bay Area, M-F between 9-5?

I'm in Oakland, right off the freeway. It was up and running (albeit slowly) this morning, was able to send out an email at 7:43 A.M..
Nothing when I tried it at 11:00, nothing now at noon. Paying $20 month to AT&T for their Edge service seems crazy.
Is anyone else out there still having EDGE problems? (Especially, anyone in the Bay Area?) Trying to get on here from 9-5 is pretty much impossible.

Shelia, I live and work in downtown San Francisco (Russian/Nob Hill) and have no problem connecting to Edge. It is working just fine, albiet a bit slow but it does work fine. If you'll take a look at the AT&T Wireless Coverage viewer for the SF Bay Area you'll be able to better pinpoint the reliability of EDGE.
    It is here: http://www.wireless.att.com/coverageviewer/

  • "Register with ESB" failing, though AS and IS connections are tested and OK

When trying to deploy my ESB project, in the "Register with ESB" phase I am now all of a sudden getting the following Error (the same project was working fine for months unchanged until today). This is even though the AS and IS connections are tested and still working fine.
    Things that changed today:
1.Change 1 – when starting JDEV I was prompted to download some Jdev patch/upgrade for some sort of new BPEL modeling framework, so I installed, JDEV asked to reboot so did, JDEV asked to upgrade JDEV from former, so did, JDEV asked for what dir, so went with default .../jdev/system
    2. Change 2: tried also to deploy the standard “Order booking SOA demo” after patching.
    3. The Error message I started getting, both for new and old deployments (that were working fine until today), is below, as is my version information:
    Entity Deployment Failed
    error code: 1000 : 5
    summary: -
    Fix: Contact Oracle Support
    Version:
    ADF Business Components     10.1.3.39.78
    BPEL Designer     10.1.3.1.0 (Build 061009.0802)
CVS Version     Internal to Oracle JDeveloper (client-only)
    Java™ Platform     1.5.0_06

    UML Modelers Version     10.1.3.39.78

Ideas why the "Register with ESB" stopped working even though the AS and IS connections are tested and still working fine?

  • Aperture for sale on Bay Area Craigslist...

I was wondering if anyone has purchased aperture from <post edited by host> or <post edited by host>? They both are selling Aperture 2 on craigslist in the Bay Area, CA. I sent him an e-mail today and he requested my phone #. So I gave it to him. About 10 minutes later I received a phone call from an Asian Male stating he had a license to sell Aperture in two forms, 1) as it comes in the retail box for $150.00 and 2) as a burned CD with a license for $80.00. The whole thing sounds kinda hoaky to me so I wanted to see if anyone has done this yet and what kind of results they have had. Or if anyone knows if this is legitimate, can someone do this legally?
    Please let me know!

    clayton M wrote:

Given the whole value is in the license (which isn't sold on its own) this guy has nothing to offer but a pirated product.
    I'd report him.

  • Are testing tool effective

    Hi,
I am trying to test my scenario using 2 available method of testing. I deliberately put a wrong data and tested in message mapping.
As expected, my mapping fails in test tab of message mapping. Now i took the same payload ( whcih has wrong data)  & used it in Runtime workbench ( Integration engine- Test Message) & also in ID in Tools-Test Configuration
To my surprise, the messages are triggered without error and i can see sucess flag. However when I see the XML payload it has wrong data. My Question is why these tool did not recognized what message mapping test found. How effect are those tools considering that they simulate the pipeline steps.
    Regards,

When you do a mapping test, the only thing that you are testing is the mapping, independently of interfases.
When I want to test any interface, I:
    1) Log on into R/3. Look for an existing IDOC in TC WE02 with status 03 (data passed to port OK). When I found one, I write the idoc number and then I go to TC WE19 and I test it there; just put the idoc number in textbox "existing idoc" and press F8, when you go to next screen, press F7 and put there the amount of Idocs that you want to reprocess. Then, log on into XI and go to TC SXI_MONITOR and see if the xml generated by the idoc you reprocess was sent ok.
    2) Log on into IR and in message mapping go to test; test it putting information in the outbound idoc or xml or rfc. When the mapping result is ok, save that xml.
Then, I use a http page that basis guys give to me long time ago, where I have only to put:
Server Host (your server host, like srv-xxx-adm for example)
Server Port (in this case, I test it with server 8000 and not 50000)
Client (your mdt in SAP R3)
Quality of Service (sync., async. or exactly once in order)
Sender Service (your sender service; you can found it in ID)
Sender Interface (your message interface in IR)
Sender Namespace (your namespace in IR)
Then, you can upload the xml and logon with a username and password, and the xml will be sent.
And like in 1), you must log on into XI and go to TC SXI_MONITOR and see if the xml generated by the idoc you reprocess was sent ok.
    3) Some guys from other systems are using a program called xmlspy to send xml from any system throw xi to sap or from sap throw xi to any system. The only thing that I have to do is to send them the empty xml I got from message mapping in IR, so they can fill it with information and send it. Then, just look at it in sxi_monitor transaction code in xi.
I dont use the other test tools because last guy in xi here told me not to use it (he didnt explain me why).
I hope this could be helpful for you.
