OT: CSS printing IE vs. FF

The client insists on maintaining their own site with
contribute... and now
I need to clean up Contribute's mess!
Does anyone have an idea why FF appears to cut off the page
contents at the
end of the first page while IE appears to properly split the
content to
multiple pages? ... in PrintView
http://assisted-living411.org/index_php_MMtmp494e/index.php
TIA

Nevermind. Problem solved. Thanks anyway

  • Print CSS Printing 2 identical pages...

    I have attached a Print CSS file to my website. At first
    glance, all appeared to be well. However, upon closer scrutiny, the
    page appears to be correct in print preview, but when I go to print
    - one page prints with the print logo and then a second identical
    page prints with a blank space where the print logo should be. The
    page also appears to be truncated at what I am going to guess is
    about 1200 pixels, unless I reduce the size of the page printing.
    Lastly, these two pages, rather than one, started after I turned my
    master page into a template.
    Can anyone help me, PLEASE? Thank you kindly.
    P.S. If you would like to see it for yourself...

  • Css print style sheet?

    How can I define a print style sheet so that I can hide menus and links?
    I am also finding when I print that the backgrounds are disappearing on the printout.
    terry

    Use a print media query...
    @media print {
         .class {
    attribute:value;
    attribute:value;
    Background printing is a browser setting. Since most people are just interested in information, not graphics, when printing websites, it's turned off by default. It's controlled in the Page Setup when printing from the browser.

  • Printing in Adobe Air with css print media rule

    I am new to air and I am having a big problem with printing, I got some come snippet that triggers printing but the main problem is that the <code>window.htmlLoader</code> is passed to the addPage() and the print renders a screeshot of the first page.
    This is not what I want, I defines a media print style rule and I want the print to print some portion of the page regrding the print media rule, is there any option or help. I have a deadling, the programming with JS is not the problwm but the printing is the problem. Is there any better API that can streamline this, I am running out of time.
    Thanks in advance

  • Assigning 'Print' styles to existing CSS page

    Hello, Have designed basic site using CSS setting for 'all'
    media. Now I want to make CSS 'print' pages. The problem I'm having
    is assigning 'print' settings to my CSS page. Currently my head
    data reads:
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;
    charset=iso-8859-1" />
    <title>notjustthenews.co.uk</title>
    <link href="njtn.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css"
    />
    </head>
    Can anyone help?

    Your profile lists 10.6.2 as your OS version. If this is true, it may be the source of problems with Pages. Keeping both the OS and iWork apps updated will avoid some problems.

  • PDF Printing and CSS Media Style Sheets in OS X -- CSS @page ignored

    I'd like to author an XHTML document and specify precisely how it should be printed to pdf (margins/headers/footers/page breaks/etc.) using the CSS Media Style Sheet capability, i.e, CSS's @page rule.
    Apparently, Microsoft IE7 supports these page rules (http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2005/06/10/428149.aspx), but these do not yet appear to be supported in OS X's "Print to PDF" function (http://css-discuss.incutio.com/?page=PrintStylesheets).
    Is this true? Does anyone know how to access these CSS printing capabilities on a Mac?
    Furthermore, does anyone know how to get "Print to PDF" to maintain HTML hyperlinks in the PDF file?
    E.g., using OS X+Firefox, the following @page rule is ignored by the "Print to PDF" function on my Mac.
    <style type="text/css">
    <!--

  • Layout pages and print css

    The problem i'm having, under the pages i'm seeing four of the layout files from my Web Apps that were created. They weren't there the other day and can't workout how to make them go away again, don't really want the client to see the layout pages or to accidentally delete them.
    Also how to i edit the print view? the client would like me to style the print view but not having much luck with the old way <link href="../../stylesheets/print.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="print.css"/>

    Print view is gone in BC now since you would set that up with media queries in your CSS etc. Its not needed.
    In terms of those folders I think I mentioned to you in another thread - You need to contact BC support. You have somehow made a simialr folder name and caused BC to open view the folders and have web apps in that folder. BC will need to take a look at that and sort it our for you.

  • Firefox "print" prints some text on top of other text. How can I fix it?

    I want to print a webpage with a travel itinerary on it. The itinerary is quite long, exceeds the page height and overflows onto the next page. Unfortunately the information below the itinerary is then printed on top of the itinerary information on the overflow page.
    I have tried the same page in Chrome, Safari and IE 10 and it prints correctly in all of them.
    I use a css (print.css media='print') to control some of the print output.
    Can anyone help please?

    Hi midnig-
    I found this article on troubleshooting print issues:
    http://mzl.la/MCCq7H
    I see that you have covered some of the basic troubleshooting tips- but you might try resetting the printer. Here are some other suggestions:
    - If you have made changes to Advanced font settings like increasing the minimum/default font size then try the default minimum setting "none" and the default font size 16 in case the current setting is causing problems.
    - Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)
    Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own fonts.
    - Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced: [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"
    It is better not to increase the minimum font size, but to use an extension to set the default page zoom to prevent issues with text not being displayed properly.
    - You can use an extension to set a default font size and page zoom on web pages.
    Default FullZoom Level: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/default-fullzoom-level/
    NoSquint: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/nosquint/

  • Is it possible to create a PDF with different colors for screen and printing?

    I'm working on a document that features light colored text on a dark background. I'll be sending this document as a PDF to someone who will likely want to print it. Is it possible to set up the document such that it will display this way when viewed on screen, but will print as black text on a white background, without requiring any special action on the part of the recipient?
    Printing a color separation of just the text color produces exactly the results I'm after, but I can't ask the recipient to do that. I need it to happen automatically any time it's printed.
    I've tried setting up a duplicate text layer in black and placing it under the background layer, then setting the background layer and colored text to 'never print'. This works within Acrobat Pro, but not when I print the same document from Preview.
    Is there an acrobat equivalent of a CSS print stylesheet?
    Thanks.

    Create the document in layers with the background on a seperate layer than the text. Export the PDF with"Create Acrobat Layers" selected (it will need to be at least version 1.5).
    Open the PDF in Acrobat, choose the background layer then Options>Properties>Initial State and under "print" choose "Never prints".

  • Why is a css 'display:inline;' command not working in one part of the page when it does in another?

  • Problem with printing HTML container

    Hi all,
    I am having a problem with FlexPrintJob (or PrintJob) for the
    mx.controls.HTML container. On print i receive only one page (only
    the visible area) of my HTML container. How can i print multiple
    pages from mx.controls.HTML?
    Please Help!!!

    And here we have the problems with Adobe's take on printing.
    It would be much easier for every developer, if they could say
    "HTMLContainer.print()" and have it print all of the text contained
    in the html container, maybe even with integrated use of CSS print
    stylesheets...
    But, for the time being, the easiest method is to break all
    of the text out into a second invisible (alpha = 0 NOT
    visible=false) html container that is sized to the dimensions of
    your page. Then you call addPage, scroll the container exactly 1
    page, and call addPage again, repeating until you reach the end of
    your content. This method of printing is necessary for people
    developing an image builder, that want to make multi-sheet prints.
    But people who are writing RIA's have the need to make multi-sheet
    prints of TEXT that is not in a datagrid on a regular basis. This
    is a SERIOUS limitation, and should have been taken care of prior
    to the release of AIR 1.0

  • Print preview and print doesn't show the correct out put result when i connnected with EPSON LX-300+II

    I hava an html webpage with css & print css. The print preview and print doesn't give correct output there is alignment problem when i connected with EPSONLX-300+II. But iam connected with hp laserjet they show the correct output with firefox. Please fix the problem as soon.....

    I have same problem as you, but later I know how to deal with it.
    1. change your print default preferences to
    print quality into (120x144 dpi, or other which suites you)
    mine goes well to 120x144 dpi
    2. Before print enter File->Page setup, set true to option shrink to page width
    in order to fit your page into your desired paper
    (firefox will resize your content to suit the paper you choose).
    If you dont want this you can disable this option.
    3. Still in Page Setup, if checkbox "Print background (color & images)" is unchecked then
    white text will be printed black.
    Set this checked if you want to print white text as it is color.
    I hope it answers your question.

    You must be more careful my friend, just look at what you have got
    #banner                (    )
    #topnav                {clear:both;}
    #topnav ul            {    }
    #topnav ul li        {display:inline    }
    #topnav ul li a        {    }
    #rightside            (    )
    #content            (    )
    #footer                (    )
    #box1            (    )
    #box2            (    )
    #box3            (    )
    #box4            (    )
    #box5            (    )
    #box6            (    )
    Look at the brackets that you have for #banner and compare them with the brackets that you have for #topnav. While you are at it you can fix the remaining brackets for #rightside through to #box6

  • Positioning of download, printer friendly, refresh links....

    Is there a way to get those bottom links to appear at the top of the report, instead of at the
    bottom (so user doesn’t have to use both scroll bars)?

    "+CSS print media style sheet on the standard page+". What is it???A print media style sheet is used to suppress unwanted page elements (tabs etc) from the printed output and optimize the formatting for print (e.g. smaller font sizes, including full URLs instead of links, page breaks etc).
    Simple example of suppressing unwanted APEX page elements using media style sheet: +{message:id=2475831}+
