OT: FF and pagerank extension

Hi,
For some reason my pagerank extension in FF doesn't work. I
don't get
page ranking for any sites/pages. I've updated the extension
to a
version that should work with FF2. Does anyone have a working
pagerank
extension working in FF version *2* ?
I know I can use the the live page rank sites like
http://livepr.raketforskning.com/
but I was very happy with my little
addon until it stopped working.

Facelets and jsf-extensions problem.

I'm fairly certain I've run into a problem between facelets and jsf-extensions. I'm working with JSF 1.2 RI, Woodstock, Facelets 1.1.13, on Tomcat 6.
When trying to get Woodstock autoValidation to work I get a javascript error the "I has no properties". The error occurs in the com_sun_faces_ajax.js file in the jsf-extensions-dynamic-faces-0.1.jar (I've used both the RC4 and a build today ,10/18/07 from source with the same results). Here is the code snippet where it happens (with my comment).

In the second line there it looks like the variable I is null, but based on the post response below I don't know why.

Here is the validator method. It currently doesn't do anything, just trying to get something to work. I never see the output, and I never hit the breakpoint in the method.

Actually I don't need a global variable. I need to refer in my included template the actual backing bean used in the current page. I just purchased StarOffice 9, read the entire documentation, including the "Getting Started" PDF file. Looked all over Sun.com and nowhere can I find how to install the Thunderbird and Lightning extensions touted as being available for StarOffice 9. Thanks for any help.

If u have StarOffice 9 u should download -free- the email and calendar client from
the Mozilla Thunderbird page and Mozilla Lightning page
after downloaded Lightning 0.9 !!
open thunderbird -->options --> addons chose the file downloaded, click ok, and install
Now u can manage tasks and so on in your thunderbird, but independant of StarOffice apps !!

MacBook Pro Exchange and Repair Extension Programs

Hi:
I have a MacBook Pro Early 2008, and I think my laptop problem is the Nvidia Card. My laptop doesn't start. I can't hear the chime at startup, but I can hear the DVD and the HD spinning, and the fans working. I phoned the nearest Apple mervice and they said me that it is imperative that my computer is running so they can perform the test that determines whether the problem of my computer is covered by the Exchange and Repair Extension Programs "or distorted video no video issues". I have told them that's impossible, because the logic board defect causes a impossibility to boot the laptop.
Can anyone tell me if it's true that the Apple Service says to me? How they intend I start my laptop?

But...
Why are you so sure that the Nvidia failure does not prevent the computer start-up. The laptop has worked flawlessly so far.
In some forums I read that the cause of the boot failure is just the defective nvidia board. First I had some screen flickering problems, and the latest problems are screen blackouts, this seems that the boot failure is the last symptom of a defective board.
In any case, I find it's a kind of surreal nightmare that Apple launch a replacement program, and deny coverage for units that have been rendered useless because the problem that justifies the replacement program. Doesn't have Apple the serial numbers of the units that can be affected by a problem that Nvidia recognize?

It's not going to be fixed.
The only version of FB where design mode really works is 4.0. Even in 4.5, it's very fragile for Flex 3. (Flex 4 should work fine.)
Yes. I use EB 1.5 all the time. The lack of a working Design Mode is annoying and makes devlopment somewhat less efficient, but it's not a show-stopper...

X11 and xlib extensions

I'm having 'issues' using X11 on my Powerbook. I connect to work with a VPN. Once on the network I ssh to one of the servers.
I can start X11 apps and the gui's show up on my mac as I expect (xeyes, nedit, etc). The problem is when I start some apps I get the following error(s) -
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display "localhost:12.0".
Xlib: extension "RENDER" missing on display "localhost:12.0"
Kate gives both errors. It does start, but its really slow running. Other apps only give one error.
What do they mean? Is there a different X server other than Apple's that will support those extensions?

X11 servers support runtime extensions, which are just what they sound like...external files that provide additional features and functions. If you run a program that wants to use the functionality of a certain extension and that extension is not present (or fails to load, or whatever) the program can either abort entirely, or else try to run but avoid using the enhancement (maybe a slower internal function instead of an efficient server extension?). Apple's X11 does not have every possible extension, but I thought it did have those two, but maybe they don't work load properly via the number of hoops your jumping through from remote program to local display? Try running 'xdpyinfo' from a local xterm to see what extensions are available, and then run it in an xterm on the remote machine to see if things are missing?

Assign the name of a file and its extension when using DESTYPE=MAIL

I've developed a report running Oracle Reports 10g that is being emailed to a user. I would like to specify the name of the file and it's extension that is attached. Are there variables or parameters in Oracle Reports that I can use to accomplish this?
It looks like by default that the file name is using the Name value found in the Property Inspector for the report. I have not been able to find a way to re-assign this value with a value from either the input or select values in the data model.
Will Oracle Reports 10g allow me to define the name of the file and the extension?
Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the quick reply and information. I almost thought you had solved my problem until I found out that distribution and bursting do not support delimited and spreadsheet output. One of the two files I need to email has a desformat of SPREADSHEET.

Why does Firefox disable the Uninstall button on incompatible and disabled extensions (which should be removed)?

Please don't dodge the question. People have normal adds-ons and extentions that when become incomparable are greyed out and there is no way to uninstall it. Mine is Java at this time. Well, it's probably one of two things: either the awesome dude(tte) who developed this awesome extension was tired of updating or the changes in FFox software architecture carried out between version 3.x and 4+ created challenges that were too difficult for him to surmount or a combination of both. Honestly, I love Mozilla but I think they dropped the ball on the throttle issue. It's such an obvious and necessary function and it's so easy to implement. They should have included it a long time ago as in built feature. And, if you are browsing and looking at this post and you agree. Add a suggestion in mozilla.org. The more of us asking for this function, the better.
Meanwhile, I have the following solution for you:
Solution 0.6.9.23.11 (DIY Version of my Solution ):

It's a portable app, meaning that it's got all it's profiles and preference and application files in the same directory. It won't compete with your current installation of Firefox, has it's own separate extension folder etc...

It will be flagged as incompatible with even that old version of firefox (but it isn't). You just need to turn off compatibility checking. You can do that with this extension:

If you have Bookmarks you want to port to the portable (bad pun intend), backup them up to bookmarks.json file on your desktop and import them to the portable version. You can export/import more stuff using FEBE addon but that's a whole world of headaches if you don't your doing.
Many of your extensions favourites extensions will no longer work on FFox 3.6.x but if, in that same addon's page, you look around until you find a link to previous versions of the addon, you will notice that the compatibility info is right below the version numbers. Just download and install the latest version that is compatible with you 3.6.x....

Php with mysqli, mbstring and xsl extensions

I don't understand why php isn't build with mysqli and mbstring extensions since mysql4 is installed and there are a lot of languages that need multibytes strings. Here is a PKGBUILD that enable them. I also added xsl extension to use xsl files with php.

i suggest filing a feature request through the bug tracker.
As for why such features may not be compiled in is that whoever maintains the package may have never had the need to have such features in php or experienced any issue because of it. You will experience this with many distros so I suggest not getting accusatory and simply request the feature through the proper channels.
Each persons needs and experience are different and that is why developers write their code to encompass as many features as their users request. How robust a package needs to be in arch is up to people like you giving the crucial feedback.
(btw i don't see why your request would not be granted. I suggest the feature request though because i know the maintainer of the PHP package is not a frequent visitor to this forum but he will get your request if you make to the bug tracker)

FileSaveService ignored the file name and file extensions

I am using the JNLP API to build a JWS application. When using the FileSaveService, I found it automaticlly ignored the file name and file extensions I passed to the 'FileSaveService.saveFileDialog()'.
My code is like the following:

EEWB : how to determine the business object and the extension type ?

I ask myself how to determine the business object and the extension type to use to add new fields in a new tab of a specific transaction ? what means each business object, does that correspond to a specific transaction ?
I need to add a new tab in the BaMI business activity in transaction CRMD_ORDER just after the tab 'Actions' at header level.
Could you help me please to determine which business object and extension type I have to select during creation of the project and which business object category I have to select during creation of the extension (wizard) ?

In order to determine what type of transaction you are extending, you will need to look at the customizing for the transaction.
In the IMG:
Goto:
Customer Relationship Management->Transactions->Basic Settings->Define Transaction Types.
You will then choose the transaction defined that you want to extend. If you display the details of the transaction you will find an attribute called:
"Leading Transaction Category". This tells you the general context in which the transaction is used. The other item to view is the assignment of business transaction categories found in the maintenance screen.
This information general corresponds to one of the options that the EEWB will give you on the transaction type.
As far as extensions go, my recommendation is the following:
- Use CUSTOMER_H Customer Header Extensions for any new fields at the header level.
- Use CUSTOMER_I Customer Item Extensions for any new fields at the item level.
Unless you have a specific requirement to extend a segment of the transaction, I recommend placing all new fields in these segments. The CUSTOMER_H & CUSTOMER_I segments are considered "standard" segments, that are already built into all the necessary API structures.

Automatically open file based on MIME type and file extension

We have an app that is registered to handle custom MIME type and file extension. This works perfectly on IE and FireFox causing them to download the file to a temp folder and then launch our app associated with MIME type and file extension with command line to the downloaded file. On Safari however this does not work. It opens up a download window and shows that it has downloaded the file with no option to open it.
