Thanks for posting this. My old software didn't survive the move in '03 from 98 to XP so this will come in handy and the price is right. I like to replace some of the Folder icons in Favorites and Windows Explorer with something more descriptive so I can scroll through quickly and still spot them.

Free for a Day apps - Legal to use in Configurator?

Today, several paid apps we have our eyes on to purchase for use on our classroom iPads through the VPP program are available free for the day, so I downloaded them and installed them in Apple Configurator, where they indeed show up as being free in the list of apps and can be installed on iDevices without problems.
We are concerned that somehow this is not legal to do, but I cannot find any verbiage indicating this illegality. I'm assuming that if the app is free, it is truly free, no matter how and where we use it, as we use many free apps in Configurator.
Using the same logic, if I paid for 10 copies of ComicLife through VPP yesterday, but today ComicLife is free, I could not ask for a refund.
Does anybody have any definitive information?

Apple Configurator checks to see if the app is free at the moment you import the app into Apple Configurator. If a free app is imported and Apple Configurator finds that it is no longer free, you will be required to import VPP app codes for it. If the app is still free as you import it then it stays free forever on that particular computer. Each computer does this check independently.

Auto Refresh OBI Page for Current Day Only

Hello Guru's
I have a obiee page which needs to get refreshed every 30 seconds . I could able to do that using <META HTTP-EQUIV = "REFRESH" CONTENT = "30"> . But the triggy part is , auto refresh needs to be applied only for current day and not for any date range selected by user .
Details :
Prompts are defaulted to current date and time on the page, but user can also select date ranges as well . So the setting for auto refresh needs to apply only on current date (default prompt values) and not if the the user select data range .
let me know if any of you guys have come across such .

How to keep showing items created in current month for 5more days only in the next month by OOB functionality only

Hi,
I have a Time Reporting site where users log in their time twice a month.This site uses only Out Of Box functionality. There is no scope for coding in my site.
In the list i have created a view which shows the Time Report of the user logged in for the current month only.
There is a new requirement : Current month's Time Report should be visible to the users in the next month for 5 starting days of the month only so that users can edit this month's Time Report in the next month's 1st 5days incase they forget to edit it in
the current month.
e.g: If i am absent on the last day of the month , my time report for this month(March) should be visible for 5 days in April so that i can stiil edit March's time report. However after 5days the Time Report for March should not be visible. After 5days only
April's time report will be visible when submitted(April's time report).
Please can anybody help me out with this.

Hi Guru, you have a couple of options: 1) set a retention schedule through the list's settings> Information Management Policy Settings. Where the start date < start date + 35.
2) create a view and filter by the date like above.
These aren't perfect scenarios, but will get you close to what you want.

Community Day - only ! @Vegas

I know it might be late for it, still.
I would like to register for community day, only (no TechEd for me). I sent an email to the the mail-id mentioned in the wiki page (andre at ...) but haven't heard back.
I 'think' I had more than 1k points during the relevant period but didn't get any mail offering me free entry to the community day - not sure how that worked.
In any case if there is someone in the know of the situation -
- Is the registration still open?
- How to go about it? I can shell 250USD, but would be silly doing so if I am entitled to a free entry.
I hope I do not have to gate-crash!
BTW It looks little strange there if you are only for community day and your name is not Bruce Sterling (feels like the stingy uncle who wouldn't pay for TechEd - while almost everyone else is there for the whole deal) - I know, I was there last year.
Plan B is to write longwinding cribbing posts here provoking Marilyn and Craig and everyone else and getting their Passes for the event in return for just shutting up. Much as I like that to be Plan A - in deference to the suffering folks here I desist, at least for now....

Restricting of Fiscal year period for Four days

we are providing a layout for an enduser for a particular period through web interface, so that he
can enter the plan data for that period, the issue is like we have a period of 15 days the end user
has to input the plan data for that period, the planning layout should enable for 5 days only, latter
if he want to input the plan data it should not edit or cannot input, how can i go head with this.

I suggest you to think about the next approach:
1. Create variable A (based on IO period) for determining a period (lets say it's input variable with range - this range will be 15 days)
2. Create layout in BPS0 when data columns are dynamic for period that has this variable A (in manual input click on "additional settings->in "data columns"->"dynamic for" select period)
3. Create another variable B (I guess it should be user exit variable that gets values from variable A and decides which values will be locked)
4. Create data slice and restrict it with variable B.
This way you will see in layout 15 days in period, but only some of days, depends on variable B, will be opened for input.

Scheduler not worked for ONE DAY

Hi all,
I have a Publisher Report which is Scheduled Everyday. It is working fine from the last couple of months.
But last Friday, it got failed. I am unable to get the reason why it failed to RUN?
I got the error message :
System Message oracle.apps.xdo.servlet.scheduler.ProcessingException: Job execution failed because the user who scheduled this job has no more permission or priviledge to run the job. Is BI Pub using the BI Server security model?
Can you check the BI Server log and see if any of the BI services went down that day?
I'm speculating, but maybe the BI Pub scheduler tried to execute a job while the BI server was down and therefore could not do an authentication of the user who scheduled the report. I don't know if the BI Pub scheduler attempts to do this or not. And, this would only be a possibility if BI Pub is using the BI Server security model.

See if the Disk is issuing any S.M.A.R.T errors in Disk Utility...

Open Activity Monitor in Applications>Utilities, select All Processes & sort on CPU%, any indications there?
How much RAM & free space do you have also, click on the Memory & Disk Usage Tabs.
Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.

My client want promote a published retail folio for only 3 weeks as free (there is an important fashion event...)
What is the best way to do this?
1) from iTunes Connect? Is it possible to do a variation of inapp purchase cost using Price Schedule?
In this way the folio label in library will shown -- FREE -- for the 3 weeks that i set?
2) unpublish as retail folio and then publish as public/free (after 3 week unpublish as as public/free and publish as retail folio).
NB: in the next months I will have to publish many folios that will be free for 1/2 days and then become retail - what is the best workflow to do this?

Yes Bob, the inapp Android work as Apple but with 2 great and bad difference:
1- you can not set price 0 (or free) This is a problem that force me to unpublish retail folio/publish as free and after 7 days republish as retail (this is a very bad and nonsense workflow!).
2- you can not schedule price variation!

If i try and add someone, it just lists them as pending even though they don't receive anything on their phone. Likewise, if someone tries to add me, i receive no notification. I've tried sorting out the problem on the phone but that doesn't seem possible! So basically, i have no idea how to get it to work.

Itunes support deauthorized myaccount and ignores all emails for 5 days. 6 emails have gone unanswered except for automated responses. Does ITunes support exist anymore? Calls to apple support tell me they can only chat with ITunes which is down for 4 day

My ITunes account had an unauthorized charge. I changed my password and notified ITunes support. They disabled the account, told me to chnge the password and then they would re enable the account. I emailed back that the password was changed, they have not answered or re enabled the account. I have emailed the non-existent person who disabled the account and ITunes support 5 times but the only response has been an automated one. Calls to Apple support only and I was told the ITunes chat for them has been down for 4 days. No answers and no way to get a human respond and no way to get the ITunes account turned back on. Does anybody actually work at ITunes support? Is there anyway to get a human on the phone or chat directly at ITunes support to re enable the account? I am totally fed up with this complete lack of support or response.

Find another app to make an inexpensive purchase from. I know there's stuff for like 99 cents.
If you can make that purchase, but not one with Blood Brothers, then what does that tell you?
