• Since updating to Firefox 36.0, I can't drag images around (for a Google reverse image search) - is it working as intended?

Earlier today, before updating the browser, I could drag the images around, to a new tab, where I'd throw them in Google, an essential asset for my work - getting visually similar references. Since the last update, I can't.
Is this how it's going to work from now on? I abhor the idea of switching browsers, but if i can't do that in FF36.0, I can't work with it.

Hello,
Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).
If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:
* Click the menu button , click Help and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.
If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:
* On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
* On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode <br>(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".
;
If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme, or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps in the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.
To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help others with the same problem.

• Google image search being cut out?

Ever since Google's image search has this new format, whenever I search up something a second time, it only shows two rows of images, instead of full screen. I will show you what I mean in a picture. Does this happen to anyone else? It happens on both my Macbook Pro and my iMac. I appreciate any help/suggestions.
Thanks a bunch.

• Reverse image search on Google Image possible from iPad/iPhone?

With iOS 6, we can now upload photos from iPhone/iPad to tineye.com, to do a reverse image search. I can't get it to work, though, for a reverse image search on Google Image (which I think is more comprehensive than tineye). Is it possible?

Thanks but I don't know what a "reverse image search" is let alone have any interest in doing one. And, I would hope that, after a year the OP has resolved their issue.

How will the Google Image Search API being deprecated/discontinued affect Photoshop Touch?
Important: The Google Image Search API has been officially deprecated as of May 26, 2011. It will continue to work as per our deprecation policy, but the number of requests you may make per day may be limited.

• Applescipt to 'reverse image search'?

Hi,
I use the Firefox addin "Who Stole My Pics" (and the google reverse image search engine) to search for pictures that have been taken from me without my consent. This works fine but is time consuming as I have many pictures.
Is it possible to create an Applescript to search a given folder containing jpg images, run the search image by image. and then export a summary showing the image file names and a record of the search result (such as  the number of 'similar' images found or something)?
That way I could scan the log file and manually run the 'Who stole my pics' in Firefox for the files that are showing the most hits or some other measure of their popularity...
Welcome your comments and advise.
Regards
Sean

Here is something for you to play with.
It searches for all matching file names within the specified folder hierarchy - ie all sub folders as well. The folder depth can be controlled if required by a simple change to the script.
Use * as a file name wildcard - ie a search for *.jpg will find all jpg images but not jpeg.
The script asks you to input search folder and file name to search for and then displays the number of matches found.
set f to POSIX path of (choose folder with prompt "Choose folder hierarchy to search")
set n to text returned of (display dialog "Use * as wildcard and search for this file name:" default answer "")
display dialog ((do shell script "x=0; find \"" & f & "\" -name \"" & n & "\"  | echo `wc -l`") & " files matching " & n & " were found")

• Web of Trust no longer working with google and bing image searches

Hello All,
I have searched and searched but have not found an answer that matches my specifics. Any help would be appreciated.
I used to be able to do this but now I can no longer search and browse images on google or bing image search and have Web of Trust function. Here is how I am going about it.
What I use:
DuckDuckGo's annoymous google or bing image search link when I enter querries. Also, searching directly from Google's or Bing's image search page doesn't work with WOT anymore either.
Firefox 23.0.1
The following add-on's:
Add-block plus 2.3.2
BetterPrivacy 1.68
Flagfox 4.2.12
Ghostery 5.0.4
Google/Yandex search link fix 1.4.1
No Script 2.6.7.1
Web of Trust 20130515
If anyone has a fix for this please let me know.

I guess what I learned is that sometimes the best solution is to do nothing and wait for the problem to solve itself! Funny, this has never worked for me before.
WOT is now working for me but often for only the first few rows of images. That's cool that it is also working with bing images.
Boudica, thanks for understanding. I am new contributor/ question-asker here on mozilla and may not understand how things are done. I was just frustrated, getting an email saying that my question was answered, logging in to find that it wasn't.
Now we have the functionality that we wanted, right?

• Why do i get grey boxes from page two onwards on google image searches on my macbook pro

Does anyone with the Macbook Pro Model 7.1 OS X Version 10.6.7 have the following problem. When I do an image search in google only the first page of images is displayed and the following pages only show grey boxes.
I have recently been to Australia and had my Macbook with me used my friends wireless connection and everything worked perfectly, come back to the UK and same problem.
(1) Is this a router problem? (2) How do I fix it if it is?
InNever had this problem when using a Windows OS Laptop.

No mention of which browser you are using so I'll assume it's Safari.
When I do an image search in google only the first page of images is displayed and the following pages only show grey boxes.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari / Preferences then select the Appearance tab. Make sure: Display images when the page opens is selected.
If the box was already checked, from the menu bar again click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 7 buttons, click Reset. Quit then relaunch Safari to see if that makes a difference.

• Low resolution of Google Image Search results in Firefox Android

I'm new to Android, and I've noticed that Firefox brings up lower resolution Google Image search results in comparison to the same image search on Chrome for Android. When I click on an image result in Firefox it gives me the option of going through a low resolution slide show of all the image results, or clicking to see a single full size image. But that takes me out of the slide show, and then I have to backtrack to continue on with the low resolution slide show.
Chrome allows you to see the full resolution images within a slide show, allowing you to swipe from one full res image to the next.
Is there a way to get a slide show of the full size image results in Firefox Android without having to jump through all the hoops to see the full size images?
So far this is the only drawback I've seen with Firefox Android. I would much rather use it vs. Chrome because of Firefox's ability to use plug ins, especially adblock plus.

Perhaps I didn't write my post clearly enough. A Google image search on Chrome produces image results (via slideshow) of superior quality than an identical slideshow on Firefox. Your answer implies that Google sends higher resolution images to Chrome than it does to Firefox. I find that hard to believe.
Chrome apparently renders its Google image search slideshows using full size images, while Firefox does not. Rather than providing the full size images within a slideshow, Firefox seems to use lower resolution thumbnails, then forces you to click on a "Full-size image" button for each image that you want to see clearly. I was hoping there was a way around that.
My original question was if there was a way to increase the quality of the slideshow results in Firefox so you don't have to click on the image to open it up at full res., then backtrack to get back into the slideshow, then do the same thing all over again for each and every image you want to see clearly in full size. On Firefox you have to do all these extra steps that you don't have to do in Chrome. So, based on the answers so far I guess I guess that's just the way it is and there's no way around it.

• Help with removing images from Google image searches with Dreamweaver

I made a sight in dreamweaver, and need to remove a page from that website with some old images. So I removed the link and moved the webpage from the root folder. And If I go into dreamweaver the page is blank showing the image has been removed.
But the images are still showing up in google image searches even though I removed them in dreamweaver and re-uploaded the sight successfully. How do I remove them form the internet completely so they no longer show up in google images??

• IWeb images not showing on google image search

I've created an iWeb website but can't find any of my images on google image search, although the site appears on web search. I've created new sitemaps 4 days ago, tagged the images with iWeb SEO... I've made two separate pages of images only, not the photo album pages which I think are difficult to search / tag.
Does anyone know how long it takes Google image search to list your images. It already has listed my website on web / text search for sometime.

Mia12 wrote:
...the site appears on web search.
Do sub-pages of your site appear? I'm wondering whether your images aren't being found because the sub-pages in which they reside are not being found...
One of the biggest problems with iWeb is the way it creates your navigation bars. Instead of using standard HTML which search engines can use to correctly find all files on your website, it uses Javascript which makes it extremely hard for search engines to scan and index your website properly.

• Google Image Search Does Not Load, Among Other Websites

I think this problem started a little bit after I upgraded to Leopard. I thought it was a problem with the wireless network I was using, but that wasn't it. I connected directly to my modem via ethernet cable, but to no avail. The problem also persists when I connect to my own home network through the Airport Extreme.
My Google Image Search usually yields such results:
http://img231.imageshack.us/my.php?image=picture1qs8.png
Another webpage that I cannot load is deviantART. Sometimes I can get through with NoScript on, but even so the website layout doesn't load correctly.
Pages that don't even load and result in a timeout are manga.clone-army.org and megatokyo.com.
I can access these sites through a tunnel. I am using Firefox 2.0.0.16, but Safari is not able to load these pages either. I know that other computers, both Mac and PC are able to load the pages I cannot.
Any help?

Here's some tweaks that should speed up Firefox for you:
Type about:config into firefox's address bar, hit return you will see all the current settings
Scroll down to "network.http.pipelining" then ctrl-click on it and select "Toggle" to make it True
Scroll down to "network.http.proxy.pipelining" then ctrl-click on it and select "Toggle" to make it True
Scroll down to “network.http.pipelining.maxrequests” then ctrl-click on it and select Modify and enter 30
Then you need to add in a variable to the list, ctrl-click and select "New Integer". A menu will popup asking for you to enter the name of this integer. Enter "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0".
Close the config window and try loading the problem URL again.

• Google Image Search Results

Hey, I'm trying to get started pulling google image search
results into a flash document so that I can start animating them
with actionscript. Does anyone know of a good tutorial or sample
for this? I'm working on it by just diving into the code, but the
javascript and the google api are a little over my head. thanks.
I'm working in as 2.0

Hi cwallentin,
Thank you for your patience. I did some checking and this is what I’ve found out. The Google search capabilities built into the app use the native Google strict filtering for legal reasons and to maintain the app content rating “Everyone”. This in combination with only showing images marked as available for “commercial reuse” will limit your results with certain searches.
