OT: Monitor/Speaker Stands

Hi guys,
I am really sorry for the OT but I am not sure who to turn to . I am looking into buying stands for my monitors and was wondering if anybody came across anything that might fit my requirements while surfing the net and would care to share links -- my current ones are soo unstable my heart is skipping a beat every time somebody passes by them with my monitors on them . Price is really irrelevant; what I am looking for is 35-36', metal, preferably four post but other configs are also welcome as long as they are stable, fillable is also prefered. They should be able to supoprt ~19kg/40lbs(for a pair of Dynaudio BM15A's), they will be on a thick carpet so spiking is a plus but not a must since the floor under the carpet is abrand new hardwood and will probably add coasters underneath :-| ... The main thing is stability. My current ones are 36' Bello's and at that weight/height they are no good (they were awesome with the Event 20/20bas).
Thank you very much in advance for all your help! I really appreciate it.
P.S. Just aquick note -- sound anchors are ...uu...well... awesome but ~$800 quote (before shipping) ... still debating... hence my current search for other options.

  • Speaker Stands for I-trigue 5600

    hey
I just bought I-trigue 5600 system and i was intending to get back speaker stands so that i can have them positioned properly.
Creative sight is not giving me any accessories for I-Trigue 5600 does any one know what are the stand style number of part number and where can i get those from in Australia
    Any help will be appreciated
    regards

Well i think i have the same problem as you with these exact speakers (i-trigue 5600). I found out it was the volume control not that long ago, so im guessing this is the same problem as you! Try lifting the black turner thing on the volume control away from it and turn it and see if the blue light comes on, mine came on for a second, but the volume control is definitely faulty. If you know of any way to get a volume control this would also help me :-) Peace outChris

  • Still have 6 inspire mt1200 speaker stand adaptors available for trade

I have the 750 Gigaworks Speakers and now have a total of six Creative MT-1200 speaker stands. Only needed four until I broke one of the adapters, so I had to buy two more stands. (You can't buy the adapters separately here in the US)? If anyone out there isn't using the Megaworks/Gigaworks adapters from the stand kit, I would be happy to trade for the other Creative Inspire adapters that came along with my sets of speaker stands. Let me know if anyone has the adapters I need. They are so flimsy it seems so silly and extremely expensive to have to pay $70 plus shipping, just to replace two small adapters. Hope Creative will fix this little problem in the future. luvmyrescuedogsTucson,AZUSAThe 6 plastic adaptors that I still have available, fit the Inspire Speakers. They are the plastic ones that are horizontal and have one hole in them. The other long vertical Inspire Adaptors have already been traded to a forum member from The Netherlands.
I believe he said his Creative speakers were the Inspire 5700sAnyway, if anyone has the ones for my S750 Gigaworks, that I can trade for, please let me know.

First, let me thank the two Creative forum members who were able to trade their extra speaker stand plastic adapters to me for the extras ones that I have. It is very much appreciated. Now, if there is a forum moderator reading this message, then would it be possible to pass along my frustrations on being unable to order these very essential parts from Creative here in the US? Surely, I can't be the only person who's metal speaker stand has fallen over and broken that little plastic adapter. These stands are very prone to tipping over. If nothing else, why not make that adapter out of metal? When ordering our stands, why not let us just buy the adapters that fit our particular speaker, instead of giving us extras for two other models? These speaker stands are very overpriced and it seems wasteful to have to junk them because of the weakness of a little plastic part or to have to buy extra stands just to get the part needed. luvmyrescuedogs

  • Where to buy Speaker Stands for my Creative Inspire T7900 System in Germany?

    Hi,
I'm trying to buy the MT-1200 Speaker Stands here in Germany. Any help where I could get them (even outside Germany) would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

Here is what will work using your existing 4-3 cable and an extra 3.5mm cable. First unplug all the cables from the back of your card and your woofer. Then plug your new 3.5 cable (make sure you are using a stereo cable and not a mono one) into the black on the back of your card and the black (rear speakers) on the back of your woofer. Then reverse your 4-3 cable that came with your speakers. Take the 4 side of the plug and use that end on your card instead of the speaker side. With the 4 plugs hook the green plug to green on the card, orange plug to orange on the card and black plug to grey on the card. You do not need to use the grey plug, so just let it hang there or whatever. On the end with the three plugs, on the back of your woofer hook the green plug to green (front speakers), orange plug to orange (center and subwoofer) and the black plug to black (side speakers.) This is the only way that it would work for me. Simply unhooking the grey on the subwoofer and running an extra cable from there to the grey on the back of the card did not work for me. It has to do with the way Creative has the 4-3 plug wired and it combines rear and side speakers. You will notice this if you look at the colored plugs and compare the number of rings on the male plugs; some have two and some have three for the different channels. When I simply run an extra wire from grey to grey it still cuts out half my speakers. The above way I outlined works awesome and gives me true 7.1 sound. Good luck!

  • Need recommendations on a speaker stand

Alright, so I've had the unit for about a month now. In some ways, I'm totally delighted with it. There are certain songs where this thing just sings. Anyone who wants to know how perfect this things sounds when it's at its best should give a spin to Another One Bites The Dust by Queen.
On the other hand, if I had to choose, I guess I'm one of those rare individuals who'd prefer a more highly detailed treble to the (admittedly quite clean) thump of the Hi-Fi. Since the EQ settings on the iPod suck from that perspective, the best way to get adequate treble performance is to connect another device which gives greater EQ control.
That being said, I'll be damned if I don't cash in on the "ecology" of it all and use this thing with my iPod. Which means it comes down to placement. In particular, I'm hoping someone out there can recommend a speaker stand suitable to a person with my predilections.
I'm thinking something tall, but solid and sturdy, and something that stands alone, directly on the floor. But I'm not an "audiophile" (or whatever), so I don't know technically what it is that I'm asking for,
Maybe one of you out there does.
Give a shout if you can help. Thanks in advance..
      Windows XP

    Hi,
There are plenty of speaker stands offering in the market, my suggestions are:-
    1. As normally, audiophile speaker stands are in pair, so it is not easy to buy just one, unless you manage to get one, otherwise, see whether you will find a stand for turntable, but which may be quite expensive.
    2. I suggest that you go to the furniture shop instead, most of the stands there are made in Wood, which is a good material of iPod HiFi then "Metal", wooden stand makes the song (from digital music files) sound a bit "warmer".
    3. The stand must be heavy and solid (but with no wheels)
    4. Buy 3 pieces of cones (again I prefer wood then metal), put them between the surface of the stand and iPod HiFi, make sure with the spike direction points to the surface of the stand.
Just in case you do not understand of what speaker cones are

  • N8 Loud Speaker, Stand Needed.

One of the only issues I have at the moment is that when the handset is laying on its back (how rude! lol) on a bed and other soft furnishings, like the sofa or sofa arm, the loudness of the speaker phone and ringing is reduced quite a lot due to the fact the only speaker is the one on the back.
One of the cases I bought for it makes it even worse due to it making the level of the back of the phone level with the speak and camera bit that sticks out. Making the sound of the ringer very low when even on a flat/hard surface.
I think I will have to have a couple of stands/chargers for the phone to be in so I can hear it ringing.
    http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/elegant-cradle-for-nokia-n8-black-p25765.htm
Does anyone know of a desktop charger or ideal stands, I'm also looking into a car holder for using the sat nav feature. But they have got to be wide enough for the case on the handset as well, so as for the car holder I think the official Nokia one wouldn't work very well.

    @iseebird
Thanks for that, I've just ordered the CR-115 for the car.
Hopefully as it expands the phone will fit with the cover/case still on, only adds a couple of mm's to each side, so should do.
I'm not keen on that one Nokia have as an accessory for the N8 "CR-122", just looks big enough to get the bare handset in, also looks quite rough with no rubber or foam protection.

  • Speaker Stands MT-1100

I have these stands for my Inspire 5.1 Digital 5700 speakers and inavertility, knocked one of the stands over and it broke/snaped the plastic bit that slots onto the top of the metal pole and slots onto the rear satlite. The speaker still works. I have tried emailing and phoning Creative each time and no response!!! What can I do? Cheers Darren

No response is unusual. Were you using the website to contact them? Did you get the automated email reply (if i recall correctly you should do). I wonder if this is the same one as was included in your speakers? It says it is the adapter included, but doesnt list your speakers. My guess would be it is what you need, but hopefully someone will confirm this before you buy.

  • Monitor speaker purchase advice

Hi all, thought I'd get some opinions from you guys as I really don't know where to start.
I need some monitors, I don't want to spend too much. Budget of £300
They sell these powered monitors at my local Apple store. Has anybody used/got some of these KRK Rokit RP5?
    http://www.turnkey.co.uk/product.php?itemid=8448
My friend has some of these and highly recommends them but I think they've stopped making them : /

Let me know if you need any more information.
    Many thanks

    Things to consider:
    1) What type of music? Your monitor choice might change if you're recording acoustic folk, or rock or electronic/club.
    2) How big is your room, and does it have any acoustic treatment? Don't overdrive a tiny room, and money spent on room treatment will ultimately get you more bang for your buck than monitors. You don't have to buy expensive premade stuff - buy 703 panels and wrap them in burlap. Home made bass traps can be very cheap to make.
    3) Whichever monitors you choose, be prepared to spend a lot of time learning them.
    4) Never buy monitors without auditioning them. Find a good dealer where you can try out various brands, side-by-side, and bring a CD your own mixes and your favorite CD.
    5) Read this:

  • How may I put in stand-by mode the monitor of my PC by VI command execution?

SO win98 P200 MMX; I need to put monitor in stand-by mode by VI command and restore the active state after some operation in order to low monitor noise on acquisition instrumentation.

    Hello Stefano,
In theory you should be able to do this. What you will have to do is find out which contains the function to put the monitor into stand-by. I am guessing that would be in the driver for the video card or it could possibly be in the windows system dll.
Once you locate the correct library then you can use the call library function in LV. There is a good link to a walk through here on the dzone, just type 'external code' in to the search.
    I hope this helps,
    Doug

  • Flimmern 2. Monitor Matrox RT X2

Beim Einsatz des 2. Monitor über den DVI Ausgang der Matrox RT X2 Karte,
    flimmert der Monitor im Stand.
    de Hoins

If I ditch my current RT X2, will I be able to use three monitors which I had gotten used to? Is Matrox not going to provide the CS5 drivers for their product which I still see being sold on the internet for nothing less than the original price?
In addition to that my HP XW6600 has only room for another xeon quad core to give me a maximum of 8 cores as compared to the 16 cores I saw in the demonstration. RAM is 22gb. So with this current setup will I be able to get the perfomance of the mercury playback engine or I will have to ditch my GPU FX4600 for the FX4800?
Please help with the pros and cons for this rather than just advising me to simply sell it.

  • Buzz/hum when connected to krk studio monitors

ok so i have an imac (3.06 ghz intel core duo). i had a klipshe 2.1 speaker system connected with no problems. then i bought a pair of krk rokit 6's studio monitors and just have a whole lot of humming now. so far ive connected headphones to my imac and no hum.... connected my ipod to the krk's and no hum..... connected my krk's to my macbook pro (while it was plugged into the same outlet as my imac) and no hum..... bought a m-audio fast track and connected the krk's through that to my imac and still it hums.... what gives? please help. thanks
    shawn

Shawn, I am getting a 1 KHz whine through Behringer Truth monitors using M-Audio USB Fast Track Ultra audio/midi interface with an iMac i5 27-inch with LED monitor. The whine occurs continuously from the moment I open Logic Studio or iTunes, when the output is routed through the Fast Track Ultra. The whine does not occur when I use the imac output to imac's speakers. I also get an electronic scraping noise when I use the blue tooth connected magic mouse. I have installed ferrites on the monitor speaker wires with no reduction in the whining noise or electronic scraping noise. I have also ordered the USB with ferrite collar to see if the connection between audio/midi interface and the imac is the source of the noise. I am considering a Hum-X, as well, but I am getting into serious money taking stabs at a problem for which there ought to be plenty of competent technical support. The fact that this whine is at 1 KHz and not lower suggests that I am not suffering a typical ground loop. I am a former Pro Tools user who never had a hum or whine from my Digi and G4, which I am seriously considering recomissioning so I can make music again. I am spending way too much time and money making educated guesses and trying to diagnose a problem that all but kills the utility and purpose of this new system. I too am calling on all great engineers to step up with a diagnosis and solution.
