OT: Netflix App or Other Rental Cache App

Curious if the Netflix app can cache content on the K1 or not? If not, does the Android have an app that can do this? I travel and would like to preload movies to watch before leaving for a trip. TIA

dyates9770,
Will ask about that.  I did get an answer on the cache... sounds like no go.   Sorry.

  • How do I find, download, and install an older version of the Netflix app?

I was using the Netflix app when it froze up trying to start playing an episode of a TV show. Rebooting my iPhone 5 didn't unfreeze it, so I deleted the app. When I went into the App Store to download it again, it said I had to update to iOS 7.0 or higher in order to download the Netflix app. In the past, the App Store has given me the option to download an older version of the app and this has always fixed any problems I have had with it. Next, I tried logging into iTunes on my laptop (I'm working in Windows, in case that makes a difference) to see if it would give me the option to download an older version of the Netflix app there, but that didn't work either. Finally, I called Netflix's customer support help desk line, but they told me they have no app link to send me and no control over which old editions Apple chooses to offer in the App Store, and that my best bet was to go ask you fine folks if you have any possible solutions.
(The reason I can't simply upgrade from my current setting of iOS 6.1.4 is that when Apple released iOS 7.0, even with adjustments to the color contrast, the reduced motion feature enabled, and sunglasses on, using my iPhone 5 for more than 5 minutes at a time gave me projectile-vomit-inducing migraines that lasted 24 hours each time. I'm disabled so I use my iPhone for pretty much everything, though I would say about 95% of my usage time is watching movies and TV shows on apps like Netflix for entertainment -- distraction is a huge part of my pain control plan, because so few medications help me -- because it's more convenient than using my laptop in bed, both in terms of distance to available power outlets and in terms of how I'm able to position my disabled body most comfortably. So I'm not just being a stupid stubborn girl here, I just couldn't make iOS 7.0 work for my disabled body and I don't currently have the financial resources to trade my iPhone 5 in and go buy an Android smartphone that does work for me...though I'm increasingly suspicious that this may be my only option.)
I tried downloading older Netflix apps compatible with iOS 6.1.4 in various public forums online as one of my friends recommended, but when I moved the old Netflix app into my iTunes Library, it kept asking me for the password of the original iTunes account that downloaded the app in order to access it and sync it to my iPhone 5. And I haven't been lucky, no one has been using their username or "password" as the password. I have yet to find a download link offer the username/password combo in the details for new downloaders, so if any of you have an old version of the Netflix app that's compatible with iOS 6.1.4 and want to share your username/password combo with me (after which you should change your password for safety, obviously), I couldn't possibly be more grateful.

Have you rendered both iOS 7 and iOS 8 (both of which will work on your iPhone 5) out of the question entirely without trying every possible configuration? The animations can be disabled entirely, if that's the problem. And if the whiter-brighter user interface is the problem, there's reverse-contrast modes that darken everything. You can expose accessibility controls to gain immediate access to these functions to toggle them on and off. I guess my point is you may have decided against upgrading the OS based on an early experience with iOS 7 when Apple has since made changes in later revisions to address some of the usability complaints.
Now, Apple's instructions for downloading older versions of apps is to do so from the Purchased list, not from the app's product page.
    See here:
Install the latest compatible version of an app on an earlier version of iOS or OS X - Apple Support
Let us know how that works for you.

  • How can I use the Netflix app on my iPad while traveling outside the US?

Is there any way to use the Netflix app on my iPad while traveling out of the country? I am curently in Russia. I downloaded software to mask my IP address on my laptop. Is this possible for the iPad?

There's no way to mask or hide an IP address on an iPad that I am aware of. As to using Netflix from outside of your country, ask Netflix about that.
    Regards.

  • Why doesn't the "more like this" section offer suggestions anymore in the netflix app?

In the netflix app there is an area labeled "More like this" and it usually show suggestions of other movies.  After the last ATV update, it just shows "More like this..." but it doesn't show any movie suggestions.  When I spoke with netflix, they said the problem was with Apple since they design the netflix app.

I would also like to know why the suggestions are missing.  It seems to work when you select movies outside netflix.

  • Netflix app not listed in the App Store

Hey, I am a costumer of Netflix and they told me there is a Netflix app available in the app store. The app is made by Netflix, I searched for the app by entering the word "netflix" in the search box. the only apps the came up were upgrades to the basic app made by other coder writers. Those app can not work without the app made by Netflix.
Is it possible to download the app someother way, or to upload it back to the app store?
I am using Iphone 4, running 4.3.1 iOS.
I am traveling with the phone with out my own computer.
I would very much appreciate your help in the matter,
    Thank you,
    Asaf.

    Hi Madhu,
Once you deploy your App, The App will get deployed to the App web rather host web. That is reason you will not be able to find the app either in App part or webpart section of host web.

  • How to install the Netflix app in ipad2 , i have always the message "your request could not be completed"

How to install the Netflix app in my ipad2 ? I have always the info " your request could not be completed " , i have already registred at the Netflix site , and when i try to use it , is is mandatory to have the app Netflix in the iPad .

Totally miss spelled some stuff.   Download silverlight from Netflix site.  Wow, that was weird.
Maybe it's an iPad app as well.

  • Why do I keep getting a page block error when trying to use Netflix app. I can't even load the website

Everytime I try to load the Netflix app, I get as far as the red screen and it stops loading. The iPad doesn't freeze, it just stops. Then when I try to go to their website, I get a blocked error message. Does anyone know how to fix this?

    Some possibilities:
You are on a network that blocks streaming content or otherwise won't let you access it
You have restrictions set to block some content (Settings App, General, Resrrictions).

  • Watching movies from Netflix app on your tv from iPhone 5

I was wondering, since at the moment I'm without cable tv and internet because of a dispute with my local cable provider, is there a way I can 'mirror' or whatever movies from the netflix app to my tv? I don't have any special cables for my iPhone but for my MacBook Pro I do use a HDMI cable from my macbook to my tv (just a regular Sanyo 46" LCD TV) and it works just fine. I figure if I can somehow connect my iPhone to my MacBook Pro, then to my tv I might can stream the movies on my phone but shows on my tv.
As I said, right now I don't have internet (just relying on Sprints network) and I'm not in range of any free wifi.

You may be able to do so through your "Personal Hotspot".
Hook your computer to your TV.
On your phone under settings click "Personal Hotspot" and turn it on, use the information provided to connect your computer to your "Hotspot".
That should work so you can use Netflix on your computer since you'll now have wi-fi.

    Hi Everyone,
hope this message finds you all in time. The recent Apple TV update 5.1 is terrible. Apple knows it is which is why (thankfully for some relentless user -I have no idea who but I believe it was under threat) they have allowed to sign 5.0.2 again which means you can downgrade your Apple TV 2 and 3 to a 5.0.2 version via iTunes. Who knows how long they will keep the window open but I have downgraded my ATV early this morning. I couldn't post this earlier because I was out all day but I am doing it now.
    Here's how to do it:
    1) Connect your ATV to your computer via a Mini USB (not included with ATV but included with many other electronic devices) - in order for your ATV to appear in iTunes you must FIRST plug the USB cable to your computer and ATV and only THEN plug the power cable.
    2) Download your ipsw restore file from Apple.
    5.0.2 (ATV 2): AppleTV2,1_5.0.2_9B830_Restore.ipsw
    5.0.2 (ATV 3): AppleTV3,1_5.0.2_9B830_Restore.ipsw
    3) In iTunes select yout ATV, hold SHIFT and click on Restore
    4) Find and choose the downloaded IPSW file in the Open Dialog Box and hit Next
    5) As long as Apple still signs that version the Restore process will begin and will take a few minutes to complete.
    Enjoy!

  • Netflix App no longer works?

My sister recently got a brand new 64GB iPod Touch. I was fortunate enough to inherit her 1st generation 8GB iPod Touch. I wanted to primarily use it for mobile Netflix use as I have an iPod Classic for my storage needs (Way above 8GB). Any who, I downloaded the software update for the 1st generation iPod Touch and promptly downloaded the Netflix App. It worked perfectly for about a week, but today when I tried to open it, it showed the red Netflix loading screen and then promptly quit. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but that didn't solve the problem. Anyone know anything about this, and please no check with the vendor stuff. Someone else posted that on another post I made and it just frustrated me more.

  • Netflix App not displaying video on TV

I have a iPod Touch running 4.0.2 OS with a Belkin composite AV cable (model # F8Z361-06). When I try to view a movie with the Netflix app, I get sound but no audio on the TV. YouTube works fine so I am assuming this is not a problem on the setup of the TV or cable.
Is this a known problem? Are there any settings in the Touch that could correct this behavior?
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks in advance!

video out seems to be disabled for the netflix app from the iphone and ipod's, though it works from the ipad. My hunch is they have this disabled on purpose to get people to buy the apple-tv product which does netflix.

  • Parental Control Netflix app

Suggestion for apple tv 3 netflix ios 6 and up
    * Auto - play to next episode and movies
*Airplay netflix from ipad and iphone and macbook
Parental Control Netflix setting feature where users can disable enable the search / genre feature for parenthood with kids
which leaves us with just for kids and instant queue and sign out option
It will be great to bring parental control on apple tv 3 netflix setting to disable some feature like
Search .suggestion for you .recently watched .genres ,tv shows ,new releases
when it disable it will only show instant queue and just for kids and sign out
so one is for just for kids movies and shows and instant queue is what titles we have on queue
love to see parental control for netflix app on v 3 for iOS 6
    thank you

  • Trying to find netflix app

I have been trying to reinstall the Netflix app onto my ipad but can not find it in the App Store. I have also tried to connect direct from the website but had no luck either. I had deleted the original app as the site was not working properly and it was suggested to reinstall it. Maybe a coincidence but I have just updated to the ISO 7. I do not have any restrictions enabled. Thanks

  • I cant install netflix app to i pad

i cant install netflix app to i pad

When I hit install app, I type in the password, then need to enter several security questions (new ipad).   The problem I'm having is when trying to choose the first security question I get a blank white rectangle.   I've waited several minutes, I've retried the install app procedure several times.
I am logged into the app store (I believe).   Any ideas - this ipad is latest iOS (updated Nov 15, 2012)
Thanks in advance (windows/android user trying patiently to use an apple product)
