I can't find a place to change the background to black from white. I'd like Photoshop's automated web gallery feature to show photos against a black background once I open the htm file inside Firefox. I use a Mac with OS 10.6.7 (current) on my 27-in. iMac. Thanks very much
There are often many ways to do things, and c.pfaffenbichler's suggestion above is good.
However, as I'm very fond of Curves, I'd use Image - Adjust - Curves (or Layer - New Adjustment Layer - Curves) myself, and pull the black point of the blue curve up.

Can i invoke Photoshop Scripting in web page?
Can i invoke Photoshop Scripting in web page?
hmmm...
On the page in admin,we should have a button to export the item to Photoshop. A PSD of the entire should be assembled from the elements of the XML. This means that the text leading and tracking will need to be translated from server settings to Photoshop settings. Font sizes should also match. -

Mac OSX 10.9.4I tried this too... I'm using a ATI HD Radeon, i updated the drivers, tried to disable like kbristo said but nothing... I was working with a Mac before, but many softwares of creative cloud crashes. Many people said: That is a problem of OSX, it's not responsability of Adobe. Now so many problems with windows.
I will be honest... The conference of yesterday was a BIG FAIL, everyone saw the audience reactions, one thing or other ok, but the majority of releases are simples updates. A two hours event to present a digital pen?
Adobe unfortunately have fear to launch a true 3d software. Many investiments in the 3d plataform of photoshop , realy people? A 3D Printing of a photoshop vector? Are you kidding me? Guys you are soo amazing for be limited to this... Adobe needs a 3D plataform now! The cloud is a amazing idea in my opinion, but the apps need work well, in Mac and Pc. Invest in what really matters and not make a event like yesterday. I'm embarrassed for this, cause I'm a great fan of your work.
Sorry for my English!

Blurry smart objects in Photoshop Save for Web jpegs
I create graphs, etc in Illustrator, place them as Smart Objects in a master Photoshop file before outputing Save for Web jpegs to use as PowerPoint slide backgrounds. Everything created in Illustrator or Photoshop through that process (Quality 80 or 100 with any of the SfW options on or off) Save for Webs are blurry when imported (at 100%) into PowerPoint. The only way I have been able to get anything crisp in PowerPoint was saving a Photoshop pdf. However, that was only the text created in Photoshop. The Illustrator Smart Object part was still blurry. Anyone have any idea on the best process to combine Photoshop and Illustrator files into one file for import into PowerPoint as a clean, crisp background? At this point I am open to all suggestions.
There are parts that are being added in Photoshop, hence going from Illustrator through Photoshop as a Smart Object and then onto PowerPoint. If I wasn't 5 months down the line and just nearing deadline, I would recreate everything in Illustrator. Assuming that I have to continue at this point down the Illustrator through Photoshop line of working, how do you designate pngs or jpegs to be 220ppi. Jpegs have a 1-12 quality (and 12 is still blurry).
Note regarding PowerPoint, I embed the full-page image into the background so others that are using this can't move (by accident or on purpose) the background. -
Photoshop's FLASH web gallery - let's make it better
hello there,
I have spent many hours trying to solve this problem so any
time you could spare to take a look at this would be great - i'm
out of ideas/knowledge.
Photoshop can produce flash web gallerys through it's
automate function. These look great and are a very quick and
elegant solution. If you edit the XML files it produces you can get
it to load swfs which is fantastic - you can now use the flash
gallery automate function to load images, animation, and even
games. But here's the thing that stops it being truly wonderful.
The gallerys are produced as Flash 6 files which means they refuse
to load Flash 8 files. If it could produce Flash 8 files then you
could edit the XML and have it load swfs that contained Flash 8
video. This means I could do pretty much everything i want to do
for my website simply by using the flash photo gallery function in
photoshop and tweeking the XML. Anybody think this might be a
doddle for them? Helphi. i have a problem that i think it is similar.
i have a gallery on my website made in psd cs3 and if you
look at the page (
http://signsofkauai.com/WEBSITE/PictureGallery/gallery.html
) you will see the .sfw or the image centering the whole page
vertically. therefore creating a large space between the navigation
buttons and the first image. is there a way to make the .sfw to
align top? i just need the pictures to get closer to top of the
website so that people dont have to scroll down to see the
pictures. which file am i supposed to edit and where should i add
what? (yes i am not experienced in coding :( ) -
Photoshop Elements 8 - Web Photo Gallery?
I have Photoshop Elements 8 trial edition and Photoshop Elements 2.0. I would like to create a Web Photo Gallery with Photoshop Elements 8 trial edition just like I have been doing with Photoshop Elements 2.0. I cannot find how to create a Web Photo Gallery in Photoshop Elements 8. Has Adobe removed the Web Photo Gallery function from Photoshop Elements 8?
I want to create a photo gallery to share photos on my own website and allow viewers to download the pictures. The new online sharing function in Photoshop Elements 8 only creates a slide show without downloading capability.Bob,
Thanks for answering. I need to create a Web Photo Gallery so I can upload thumbnails and full-size pictures to my website and have viewers be able to download the full-sized pictures. The Flash version does not permit downloading and requires that you use one of the provided templates. It appears that Photoshop Elements 8 is a downgrade from Photoshop Elements 2.0 in this respect. Is there any way to accomplish what I want to do with Photoshop Elements 8.0?
By the way, I really like your video tutorial on the Adobe website.

Embed photoshop galleries into web pages
I generate photo galleries in Adobe Photoshop and I am
looking to embed them into web pages, is this possible? Either the
flash or non-flash galleries. Thanks!> Is it possible to embed a Web gallery that is in my
remote files into a
> template page so it will match my Web site?
Yes. Let's see your page as it stands now. Can you upload it
and post a
link?
The Object Not Found message means that there is a javascript
object that
has been left out of the page. A look at the code will tell
which one that
is.

Using Photoshop to create web graphics on a MacBook Retina Display
I have the new 2014 MacBook Pro with Retina Display and just downloaded the latest version of Photoshop. I've found that when creating graphics for the web (buttons, banners, etc), I have to zoom to 200% in order for the size of the graphic to be what will appear on the web. For example, a 600px wide banner appears to be 300px wide in Photoshop (even though it is, indeed, 600px when viewed on the web). I've learned that I have three options:
1) design while squinting to see the very small object on the screen (not really a good choice),
2) check the "Open in Low Resolution" box for Photoshop if I want my graphics to appear to be the right size when designing them in Photoshop, or
3) continue zooming to 200% when working in Photoshop.
My question is: aside from the obvious annoyance factor, which of these options is the best choice for creating the highest quality graphics for the web? Are they both the same result... or am I hurting my graphics in some way by choosing one over the other?
THANK YOU!jennyhughesvt wrote:

That statement indicates you have a bit of a misunderstanding about how things work. It's not true, because you seem to be confusing the term "px" with a physical measurement. What you need to understand is that a pixel on a Retina display is far smaller than one on a non-retina display.
The key is this: Images are upsampled by Safari when displayed. Therefore, "viewed on the web", which you appear to think of as invariant, is actually not the same from computer to computer. Try this: Put a 600 px image into a simple web page, then display it in Safari on your Retina system and screen-grab it. Now measure the size of the image in pixels in the screen grab. It will actually NOT be 600px as you have stated.
Why would Safari upsize a web image on a Retina-equipped system? Because Apple realizes that if it displayed an image that's been prepared for a typical non-retina 100 ppi display, as most are, it would look tiny on the 200+ ppi Retina display, so it's zooming everything for you as a convenience.
I suggest taking some time to get your mind around how things actually work, and get to understand what a pixel really is, rather than making assumptions based on what you see. Once you truly understand how images are actually being displayed, you'll be able to make the right decisions that work for you.
Keep in mind that Photoshop is giving you the use of each and every pixel in that beautiful 200+ ppi Retina display. Safari is not, unless you program your HTML to take advantage of it.
The future of the web, in my opinion, is moving toward a model where images are actually provided at a higher-than-absolutely necessary resolution, and so high resolution displays will be able to make more of them, and people can easily use zooming to see even more detail as they want.
You might want to glance at this test page I created (and view the source to see how the HTML is coded):

Illustrator and Photoshop for creating web banners?
My company for years has worked with print products. We recently started creating web banners. We use Illustrator for the layout for print and Photoshop for the layout of web products. I have artists who dont see the difference between the two. They want to continue to create web banners in Illustrator. Or they want to export the Illustrator file into Photoshop with the layers. But, to export it this way it has to be cmyk. ugghhh. Can somebody please give me valuable reasons on what application is best and why? Thank you very much!
>But, to export it this way it has to be cmyk.
Not true.
Illustrator is "best" for vector. Photoshop is "best" for raster.
I would let your artists work in whatever program they feel they produce the "best" art. You should be able to quickly and easily develop a workflow around their needs. If you cannot, then you have your answer too.

If the document is RGB in Illustrator, then you can export layers to PSD. It shouldn't be a problem. I personally prefer Illustrator, but I do export to PSD and open in Photoshop if I wish to animate from there.
