OT: Site check

http://66.165.96.228
Please note - no page titles, and no meta descriptions, yet.
Also note - I
am aware of the sensitivity of the tab names to font sizing.
Several things I am particularly interested in - can anyone
tell me the
following?
1. Why am I seeing a horizontal scrollbar on the FAQ page in
IE6 ONLY? (I
see no such on any other PC browser, Safari/FF on the Mac, or
Konqueror)
2. Do any of you see 'float drop' on the subscription page
for the form?
Thanks for looking!

You can check the website if it offers a full desktop view, but device side there is nothing. This has to be initiated from the website itself.

  • Site check in IE 6 and other browsers?

I would really appreciate it if someone would check this
    draft page/site
    with IE 6, in particular.
We're looking for display problems - elements overlapping,
    displaying in
ways they obviously shouldn't be, looking downright bad for
    any reason.
(We're not looking for design thoughts or suggestions at this
    point.)
If anyone has time/patience to check it in other browsers,
    that would be
    great too.

  • I'm having a problem with FF forgetting Username & Passwords to occasional sites, checked Tools options which is set correctly.

    Hi
Twice this last few days, on different sites, FF3.6.10 has forgotten well used Usernames and passwords. First time it re-learnt after manually sign in.
Second time FF totally refuses to learn the Username and Password for the site. Tried 3 times after checking Tools>Options
    Not blocked via site exceptions
Privacy> Clear history when FF closes>Settings>Data> PSWD NOT set
    Thanks
    Mike

Do you mean names and passwords in the Password Manager or do you mean that you are no longer logged on to (remembered by) websites after closing and restarting Firefox?
If the latter happens then you have a problem with cookies that are not kept or the file that stores the cookies is corrupted.
    * Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie.
    * You must allow that cookie (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions), especially for secure websites and if you let cookies expire when Firefox closes
    * Make sure that you do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences"

Thanks for the suggestions. Changed a few of them right off

out there that teaches an all CSS (or with Javascript)
    solution?

    Guys:
I am in the final stages (in extremis - as they say in
    medical circles!) of
a site that should be ready for going live in the next 2-3
    weeks. Please
take a quick visit and let me know what you think about the
    design, the
    operation, and the concept....

As designers/developers we always focus on such things. It's
    interesting
that the massive committee of clients involved here (who want
    to make
semicolons italic!) have not commented on this yet!
    Nevertheless, I can
boost the quality of those guys.
For what it's worth, this rotation is an implementation of
    PVII's
SlideShowMagic that has been hacked down to the bare minimum.
    It was the
best rotate and fade script I could find that wasn't Flash.

This is a very good comment - and you are just weird.
I'll see if I can soften that a bit. Not the weird part,
    though.

Yeah - that's minor. 8) How about I change that alert to say
    "for
'<district name>'" rather than 'for this district'?

Yeah - actually that page is going to change to more of a
    mission and
justification page, with subordinate links to a Bios page.
    And we do plan
to use images there, but the panel idea is intriguing....

Yeah - it is. Bare. Perhaps the search field will spruce it
    up? 8)

    It was quite enough! 8)

  • Site check and POP up window help

    Hi all,
If any one has a minute spare could they please look over my
site , it can be seen at
    this link.
    Any criticisms welcome (be gentle)..!!
Just one question - with the pop up windows on the aircraft
specification page, it sometimes takes an age for the images to
appear - I know that the image file sizes are fairly large (120kb
sometimes) but my client wants BIG pictures. Is the slowness and
sometimes failure to load at all a consequence of this alone , or
is there something else in my code that could be done better.
    Thanks for your time
    Emma

In FF on XP Home, the center div is floating all the way to
    the righ tof the
    page.

  • Site Check

    Hello everyone,
I am asking your you all to take a look at my website and
give me any feedback that you may have. I am entering it into a
contest at my college and only have 8 days to get all the
"kinks" out. This was a site a made in my free time back in 2001
and it never amounted to anything. So, now 6 years later it's
making its comeback, hopefully. Any input would be great.
Weather it's grammatical, layout, HTML, or whatever browser
problems it may have. I am using FireFox v2.0.0.2 on Win XP.
If you would like you can view the contest rules
Here. Oh, and if anyone knows
    how to
add the header for the Doctype without really messing up a
page that would be great. Like I said this was created in DW4
way back in the day and the Doctype wasn't an issue then. I
recreated the index page just so that I could put the W3C
image on the index. However it would take way too much time
to recreate every page and between school and work I just
don't have the time. Well, if you have made it through all of
my rambling than I really think you need to look at my site.
    HERE
    Thank you in advance,
    James

    Hi,
AP divs are not the way forward if you ask me. Try to resize
    your text a
couple of times and see what happens.
Move your inline css to the external css file.
Library items don't offer the same flexibility as includes
    IMO
It's a pretty simple layout so why no transform it into a css
    based
    layout (up to date)
Finally... replace the nav with a list menu styled with css.
Besides that... it could do with a little "spark" in shape of
    colors and
    layout.

  • Site Check - Opinions Please!!!

    Hi,
I have just launched a website for alocal choir that uses
some elements of flash. I would like to get some feedback on the
general site but more importantly the music player which runs
    completely in flash.
The website can be found here
    www.brixham-orpheus-choir.com
    and the music player here
    www.brixham-orpheus-choir.com/pages/music.html
Thanks for reading and viewing the site.
    Steve

Thanks Fitz21 - does anyone else have any opinions?
    Thanks
    Steve

  • Wifi Site check

I was wondering how the touch would work with some of my stock work. If someone could please check it out and let me know. Also can you do any streaming video or audio at all via wifi? Thanks

I tried a few and I get the lego building block icon with a question mark, so I guess the answer is no.

  • Site Check - Someone on a Mac

    Hello all,
    I've been told that
    this site is throwing an
error when visited on a mac.
Can someone confirm this? If so, any idea what is causing
this. I have a flash slide show on the main page and am wondering
if it is causing the error. (Type 2 Error)
    Thanks

    Thanks Will.
I have just been informed that the error is happening in IE
but since there is no longer support for IE on Macs I wonder if I
    should be worrying about it.
Anyone out there using IE, or have it installed?
    Bryce

  • Site check, please - strange off-center

My homepage seems to be off-kilter on the gradient background when viewed in IE using Windows. The other two pages look fine. Any clue as to the problem? Thanks.

Thanks. Another oddity I noticed is that the counter doesn't appear if you access the site using http://www.ipawd.com, even though it appears fine when you access using http://web.mac.com/volination/iWeb/iPawd/Home.html.
    Any thoughts on that?
