OT Sony Artisan signal cable wanted

Sorry for the off topic post, but if anyone has retired an Artisan to
the storeroom and is willing to part with the signal cable I'd be
interested in buying it.
Sony no longer has the part and while I can do a workaround with a DVI
KVM switch I'd rather just use the second port on the monitor.
Thanks
Dave Smith

In using the firewire port, you also want to ensure that the 1394 controller in Windows is selected to Legacy, because with the default driver, the firewire connection won't work. I had that problem when I tried using my Panny DV-2000 deck with my laptop and the firewire connection had no response. When I changed the 1394 host controller to legacy the deck responded through the FW cable.

  • I keep getting 'check signal cable; on Samsung tv when connecting macbook using HDMI cable

Please help, I want to connect my laptop to my Samsung plasma TV. I am using a mini display port to hdmi adapter and then a hdmi cable to the tv. It keeps showing a 'check signal cable' error message.
I have tried another HDMI cable (which works on another device) but it still does not work.
    Hep please
    Thanks

OK, OK, I think I've solved it. Once again, I'm no techie but I hate not solving a problem, so I dug deeper, learned Korean last night and found thid solution - it's free and takes one minute.
As I thought originally, the problem stems from the Samsung expecting a TV signal in the HDMI port so you have to tell it it's a computer signal.
Go from the Mac HDMI socket  to the Monitor HDMI socket with an HDMI cable.
Go to the Samsung input/source button on the remote and on that screen select tools.
    Select 'edit name'
Scroll down to PC and press enter. It should now read HDMI - PC
Under apple 'system prefs - displays, select your monitor pref - mine is 1080p
    and... BINGO, it should work.
If it works for you guys, I accept gifts of beer and public praise with no problem.

  • Samsung monitor/"check signal cable" msg

Been using this monitor for about a year and a half, connecting it to my Mac Mini with a Mini Display Port to VGA adapter.  All of a sudden, I get the "check signal cable" message.  I replaced the VGA cable; no luck.  Then I replaced the adapter; still no luck.  The Mini runs fine; I can access it over my network using my laptop.  Anybody got any suggestions?  Thanks.

    2. Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    3. Turn on the computer.
    4. Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
    5. Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    6. Release the keys.
Then it doesn't work, test the monitor with another computer and/or test another monitor with the Mac Mini.

  • "check signal cable" analog?

"check signal cable" analog pops up instead of my desktop after I turn off my monitor or shut down my MacPro on OS 10.6.8. After I push source button on the Samsung SyncMaster 244T my desktop comes back and all works normal. "Sleep" also works. Only turning the monitor off or shutting everything down give me the symptoms (problem) I am trying to fix. After turning the monitor off by its power button, the desktop would come back on in seconds by pushing the monitors power button. Now the power button light blinks forever then the "check signal cable" analog" appears. Since after this long....... start-up the monitor works normal, it seems to me that some setting got screwed up. Unfortunately Samsong's manual for the monitor (trouble shooting) has nothing to fix this. Disconnecting and replacing the signal cable did not change anything and the monitors self test says it is working normal. I tried the usual fixes including resetting the SMC made no difference. Is there a plist file somewhere I can delete? Hopefully it is not the video card NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 that came with my MacPro 4.1. Any suggestions on what to try next. Thank you for your time and patience.

  • "check signal cable" screen saver

I was enjoying my Mac-Mini with a third party monitor, that seemed to work well together, but the only problem with it was that the OSD always came up. So I bought a new monitor (LG E1940). I've first tested it with the previous monitors VGA cable, and as soon I connected the monitor with that cable, the typical "check signal cable" message disappeared, regardless the cable other ends was not yet connected. Regardless the monitor proved to be working with the Mac-Mini.
When I replaced with the slim one that is shipped with (because the other is a bulky cable, and the manufacturer made the connector stick right out in to the wall) the "check signal cable" message still present, after I plugged both end of the cable. At first I was surprised, and despite the message, I booted up the system, and the monitor works. But every time, the system does not sends any signal, the "check signal cable" message comes up.
Then I checked it on my (non-apple) laptop, and right after I connected both ends of the cable, one in the laptop, the "check signal cable" went away.
I'm using a mini-DVI to VGA adapter shipped with my Mac (for the Mac), and I'm suspecting that it is a defect in that adapter. Or this is the normal behavior?

Does the Mac mini (Late 2009) supports the VESA Display Power Management Signaling (I learned about it right now,) through the mini-DVI to VGA adapter?

  • VGA/DVI cable - wanting to use two monitors.

I got a VGA/DVI cable to connect the VGA port on my LCD TV to the DVI port on my desktop computer. I'm trying to use 2 monitors on my computer which has both a VGA and DVI port. My regular monitor was already on, and the computer detected the TV as a monitor but the TV wouldn't detect a signal. I had the TV on the VGA/PC setting. The cable was a return item so it might be defective. I was wondering if there's anything else I could try to get it to work?

My computer's DVI port doesn't allow for the contacts above and below the flat blade like the DVI-I and DVI-A connectors in the picture. The cable that I got does have those contacts.
Ooooooh.  So your computer may be one of the rare animals that doesn't have a DVI-I output, only DVI-D.
Since your TV has HDMI inputs, this is the way to go.  Get a DVI-to-HDMI cable.  It will provide higher quality than VGA and is USUALLY easier to use, I've never had video timing/resolution support issues with HDMI.  (However, every computer I own has an Nvidia graphics card - the story may be different for ATI or Intel graphics!)

When I connected my phone the Sony Bridge for Mac has asked me if I would like to update so I clicked yes and it began updating, with my phone connected. Then out of sudden, my phone switched off and it won't switch back on. It will only vibrate and show the Sony logo but won't go any futher. I tried the combination of vol+ and on/off button and many others, but nothing works!! I need my phone very urgently at work, and I really don't want to loose any files!!!

It sounds more like you had a system firmware update and you may have disconnected your phone as this process was happening - All you can do I'm afraid to say is a system repair but this will erase all data on your phone

  • Replacement ligthning to sony micro usb cable for MDR-1ADAC headphone impossible to find

    Hi there,
The subject speaks for itself, i lost the original cable that connects my iphone 6 lightning port with my Sony MDR-1ADAC headphone. Sony was so kind to design the cable with a weird switch pin on it so its impossible to use any other ones.
Even on the spare parts redirects there is nothing to find. To be clear i mean the digital USB type (lightning to weird sony micro usb)
If someone could tell me where to get this cable?

  • So i am new to the Mac world, and just purchase a Macbook pro. I have a new Sony camera that i wanted to upload the software onto my Mac. Its a CD of the Sony editing picture program. I put the cd in the side slot, but how do i download and use it?

I need to figure out how to put this Sony cd picture program onto my Mac for my new camera. Im used to a PC, where it pops up and you download and can just click the icon and open the program. I have no idea where to find it or how to download it to my mac! help!

First, find out if the disc contains software for Mac OS X also, or only for Windows. This should be indicated in the camera user guide, or on the disc label. If it doesn't explicitly say it's for Mac OS X, then you have nothing to install (except possibly the camera's user guide in PDF format). You may try Sony's tech support site to find out if there is any Mac OS X software you can download. The camera's user guide or 'Get Started' doc should have this info also.
