  • How to load a virtual tour in Flash Catalyst ?

    Hi,
I want to know if is it possible to load on FC 5.5 a Virtual Tour imported in .swf and created from Autopano Tour Pro.
    example: http://fraize54th.free.fr/jardinAlex.html
I tried but I don't find any issue possible, if somebody could tell me if I can do this or I I have to give up !
    Thanks
    Alex

    Hi Alex,
I wasn't able to make that SWF load from within an FC project, either.  FC does support embedding of SWFs, but there may be some addional logic that sets this SWF up that doesn't function well when called from within another SWF.
This isn't a perfect solution, but you could have an FC button or action open an URL (where your virtual tour swf resided).
    Good luck!

klick the icon image 'virtual tour' upper right corner.
This works on my other pc, on which I did not update to 10.1 ...

  • How to create a Virtual Tour from a panorama

    Hey All,
I'm trying to create a Virtual Tour from an already stitched 360 Panoramic interior photo (taken with a fish eye lens).
Are there any programs throughout the Adobe Suite/Cloud  that will allow me to generate a virtual tour from this image, either automatically or manually?
Or is it best to look into other software(s)?

There are web services like Panoramio for that. I'm sure you could find some Flash plug-ins as well or some canned JavaScript stuff.

  • On one web page I used to be able to view the 'Virtual Tour', and on another web site, everything opens except the pictures

On this web page ' http://tours.gettwistart.com/public/vtour/display/32481?idx=1 ' I used to be able to view the virtual tour. On this web page ' http://www.theblaze.com/ ' next to each topic the photos which are also click on's do not open. I have to go to Internet Explorer to view these two pages, and, I used to be able to get it all on Firefox.

Both of the sites you mention use FlashPlayer content.
Firefox on Windows is having continuing problems that developers from Flash & Firefox are looking into. It is possible you may need to uninstall the troublesome FlashPlayer 11.3 and install Flash 10.3 or 11.2
Have a look at this article, and any articles linked from it. Note these articles are subject to review and amendment as the situation changes.

  • Creating virtual tours on the internet

Is Director the best program for creating virtual tours out
of panoramic shot jpg's? If not, what is? Flash? Fireworks?

Director can certainly do it, and you could make use of
director's 3d hardware capabilities. If your panoramic images are a
cylindrical map, spherical map or cube map, you'd probably get best
results by using the image as a texture mapped to the inside faces
of the appropriately shaped 3d primitive (cylinder, box or sphere).
You might also want to look into quicktime VR, if you don't
want to get into the programming side of things.

  • What does a virtual tour cost to develop?

I work for a small university in the States. We're trying to
evaluate whether or not we're going to try to develop a virtual
tour in-house or sub it out. So I'm looking for some basic ballpark
estimates of what a virtual tour project would cost.
Here’s what we’re looking for in a virtual tour:
    1. Chapter based organization - The tour will be divided into
six chapters with maybe four scenes within each chapter.
    2. Relies heavily on video - The scenes themselves will be
    short 15-30 second video clips.
    3. Template driven - Obviously the project will be delivered
in Flash, but we’d also like it to be template driven,
perhaps XML so that we can update the contents without having to
    touch the actual flash.
I admire sites like the Vodafone Journey Web site for its use
of video, and while we’ll probably not be able to reach this
level of quality this Web site best demonstrates where we’d
    like to go:
    http://www.vodafone.com/flash/journey/main_navigation.swf
So back to my original question. What’s a ballpark
estimate of what a virtual tour cost to develop?
If we do decide to sub it out we'll most likely write a
formal RFP that will likely include one of two options.
    RFP Options
    1. Flash work only.
The university will do all of the art direction, content
development. We will essentially hand off all of the content and
storyboards for the flash developer to create.
    2. Everything
The vendor will handle the art direction, content creation
and flash development. We will provide artwork and content as
needed but the vendor will be the driving force behind the project.
If you were considering a project like this, which of the two
options would you prefer and what would you like to see outlined in
    a potential RFP?
    Thanks.

  • QUICKTIME 3D VIRTUAL TOURS vs JAVA VIRTUAL TOURS

    Hi guys,
I've been developing 3D Virtual Tours for my clients in Quicktime 3D Virtual Reality, but some clients have been complaining that they cannot view it.
I've heard that JAVA will work anywhere. How would I go about doing 3D Virtual Tours in JAVA? Do I have to buy new software?
ANY help would be great as I am totally new to this.
    Thanks!

I use Java Technology for my virtual tour sofware. I never tried Quicktime neither Flash. Java is a language, and what is good, it is understood by Internet Browsers ( thanks to Sun ). So the comparison with Quicktime is not straightforward. Take a look at my tours, and decide for yourself, is it worth to use Java: http://www.virtuar.com/click.htm
    I think Java is great!

  • Posting VIRTUAL TOUR in DVD menu

I'm creating a recruitment DVD for a seminary, and they've asked me to add some of their virtual tour files in a sub-menu on the DVD. I know these virtual tour files require a plug-in to play them from the internet, is there anyway for them to play from a DVD?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    kt

Crossposting is generally unnecessary. This is a DVDSP-specific topic.
If you convert them to movies, yes, but they're no longer interactive.
You need to know what application these tours are running in. It's probably designed for a plugin that runs in a web browser. A DVD player plays DVDs, the application may or may not support links to other applications and provide access to those files.
You can easily store the files on the DVD as additional data content and you might be able to use DVD@ccess to trigger a local web session but the results are never what you expect and the application is spotty or completely useless on a PC. You will want to experiment and create many coasters.
There are probably more recent developments in this arena but your research may take you to other authoring systems besides DVDSP.

The plug-in woulld have to be installed on the users computer (won't work on a DVD Player) then they can open the tour up. You can try linking to it from the DVD, but sometimes things are not relaible.
The easiest way would be to include the plug-in on the DVD (if permissable) as part of a DVD-ROM folder then put a menu saying something along the lines of if you want to see the virtual tour, go to the folder called "xxxx," install the plug-in called "xxxx" from the folder and click on the item called "xxxx"

  • 360 Virtual Tours...

Hello, this may not be the correct place for this question, but I assume Final Cut Pro experts would definitely know this stuff. My situation is I need to start creating 360 degree virtual tours of inside buildings and whatever else my client needs which will then be put on their website. Is FCP capable of doing this, or do I need to buy a special program? Does anyone have any suggestions or advice on products they recommend? I need something which looks professional and high quality. Ease of use and simple user interface would also be very important.
    Thanks,
    Erik

    Couple of thoughts...
First off, a "nice DSLR" can certainly be overkill. A more critical piece of gear is going to be a tripod head that is built to rotate around the camera's nodal point. Without this item, you're very likely going to develop parallax issues - i.e. a post-production nightmare. These issues might even be significant enough to render your project impossible. Anyway, something like the Nodal Ninja comes to mind. Manfrotto makes similar items. At the top left of this page you can click links to one of the 4 models that they make.
Then for post, there are several options. Like Autodesk Stitcher or PTGui. (The latter being less expensive than the former.) The goal of both of these products is mostly the same: stitching images together into a cylinder or a cube. Pretty sure that both apps have trials available if you want to try them out. Here's a nice long list of similar products that are available.
As was noted, by bogiesan, this really isn't the realm of FCP. It's different techniques/technologies.

  • Managing multiple external jpgs for use in virtual tour

I've posted for help in a few forums now including this one. I have a big delima that I cannot overcome using google alone.
I'm creating an interactive tour (pretty much a controllable slideshow) and I have multiple pictures now that, if in the correct order, will walk you around my school. You can turn left or right at doors (the picture that you're stopped at will wait for input from either the up, left, or right button and when clicked will take you to the corrisponding picture) and will eventually lead you out another entrance of the school and take you back to the main map.
My problem lies in the pictures... I have hundreds of pictures each one needing to be referanced. The only thing I have figured out is that I need to use arrays to organize these pictures and make them easier to access. I have considered using XML to organize the lists of pictures but I cannot spend hours typing out all the names of the pictures.
I need an easy way to access my pictures from outside my flash AS3 project.
A reply with links to helpful things or even some code I could use would be extremely helpful.
