Ota transfer difference between windows and androi...

, ota transfer in windows just has increased to 100mb....what is the limit for android os?..nd why the above 100mb apps need ota ?

Its actually a limit for Data Download thru' Mobile Data. You need WiFi if you want to download anything thats higher than this limit. The reason is, though some users have 'Unlimited' Mobile Data plan most users have a 'Cap' and this limitation will prevent this majority of users from getting surprisingly high Billing amount..

  • Media Foundation Source or H264 / AC3 differences between Windows and Phone 8?

I've got a working Matroska (MKV) Media Foundation Source for a Windows Store app (PC x86). It will play several different matroska files that contain H264 encoded video and AC3-encoded audio.  It even has seek support.  I've written the app
as a HTML/typescript Universal app with the MF Source as a C++ dll.
The problem is that the same code will not work on Windows Phone 8.  I can play videos that don't require the external MF Source (i.e. MP4 files and AVI files) just fine on both platforms through my app, but the same MKV videos that played on an x86
PC will not play on Windows Phone 8 (Lumia 920).
I looked at the specs for the Snapdragon processor and it should be able to support both H264 at 720p resolution and AC3 (2-channel only).  So I don't know what else I need to do to get this to work on WP8.  The audio I'm trying to play is actually
6-channel, so that made me wonder if it was failing because WP8 supports 2-channel max, but I would have thought the audio just wouldn't work and the video would play normally.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
*edit* - just to be more specific, I can parse the file and create the presentation descriptor without errors.  But when I finish opening the file and call the event for that, nothing else happens.  What is weird is that the javascript video player
never throws the "canplay" event, nor does it throw the "error" event.

Thanks, not a bad suggestion to try.
On my Windows machine, I tried to get the MediaEncodingProfile via the createFromFileAsyc method.  With a known file type, it outputs all properties of the video and audio streams (bitrate, etc).  With an MKV file (container file with H264 video
and AC3 audio), I only get the type and subtype properties. Everything else is zero or null.  This is because in my MFSource, I only set the type and subtype.  This still allows the video to play on my windows machine.  I assume the
built-in MFTransform for H264 video-to-uncompressed video parses the stream to get the relevant information.  Likewise for audio.
On Windows Phone, when querying the file's MediaEncodingProfile, I get the same result. This is telling me that my MFSource will parse the file properly and set the subtypes for video and audio correctly.  Everything else is still null or zero.
However, the file does not play.  There is no returned event to the video element that it even *can* play.
Perhaps, I need to fill in the video and audio stream properties on the Windows Phone version.  I really don't want to because that would mean having to parse some of the underlying video and audio streams themselves, not just parsing the container
information.  (More work!)  But this is what I mean when I ask about the differences between Windows and Windows Phone... perhaps the WP8.1 & Windows MFTransforms are different?
*EDIT* - I do get a JavaScript Console error that I didn't notice before: AUDIO/VIDEO: unknown MIME type.  (VS error code: MEDIA12899)

  • Difference between Windows and Mac versions

Could anyone tell me whether the files generated by the Mac version of In-design stricly identical to the *.indd and other files (templates, libraries) generated under Window? If not, what are the differences? Thanks in advance for any help.

There is no significant difference, but they will not be bit-for-bit identical.
For instance, the INDD file format records which version and platform of InDesign created the file, so that small piece of information will certainly differ. Also, historically, when Macs used non-Intel processors with different byte order, ID may have stored some numbers in reversed byte order. But since everything is Intel now, that's not an issue.
In any case, there is 100% compatibility between both platforms. Mac ID can read Windows ID and vice versa.

  • What is the difference between Windows and Mac formating?

    Hello guys!
My question is in subject, just wondering what is real difference and what kind of restrictions in usability i could expect?
    Thanks,
    Ivan

Mac OS X uses a file system that it inherited from Mac OS called HFS Plus. HFS Plus is a metadata-rich and case preserving file system. Due to the Unix roots of Mac OS X, Unix permissions were added to HFS Plus. Later versions of HFS Plus added a journal to prevent corruption of the file system structure and introduced a number of optimizations to the allocation algorithms in an attempt to defragment files automatically without requiring an external defragmenter.
Filenames can be up to 255 characters. HFS Plus uses Unicode to store filenames. On Mac OS X, the filetype can come from the Type code stored in file's metadata or the filename.
HFS Plus has three kinds of links: Hard links, Symbolic links and Aliases. Aliases are designed to maintain a link to their original file even if they are moved or renamed.
    FAT32
In order to overcome the volume size limit of FAT16, while still allowing DOS real-mode code to handle the format without unnecessarily reducing the available conventional memory, Microsoft decided to implement a newer generation of FAT, known as FAT32, with cluster counts held in a 32-bit field, of which 28 bits are currently used.
In theory, this should support a total of approximately 268,435,438 (< 228) clusters, allowing for drive sizes in the range of 2 terabytes. However, due to limitations in Microsoft's scandisk utility, the FAT is not allowed to grow beyond 4,177,920 (< 222) clusters, placing the volume limit at 124.55 gigabytes, unless "scandisk" is not needed [3].
FAT32 was introduced with Windows 95 OSR2, although reformatting was needed to use it, and DriveSpace 3 (the version that came with Windows 95 OSR2 and Windows 98) never supported it. Windows 98 introduced a utility to convert existing hard disks from FAT16 to FAT32 without loss of data. In the NT line, support for FAT32 arrived in Windows 2000.
Windows 2000 and Windows XP can read and write to FAT32 filesystems of any size, but the format program on these platforms can only create FAT32 filesystems up to 32 GB. Thompson and Thompson (2003) write[4] that "Bizarrely, Microsoft states that this behavior is by design." Microsoft's knowledge base article 184006[3] indeed confirms the limitation and the by design statement, but gives no rationale or explanation. Peter Norton's opinion[5] is that "Microsoft has intentionally crippled the FAT32 file system."
The maximum possible size for a file on a FAT32 volume is 4 GiB minus 1 B (232-1 bytes). For most users, this has become the most nagging limit of FAT32 as of 2005, since video capture and editing applications can easily exceed this limit, as can the system swap file.

  • Quality difference between Windows and Mac

    Well, that's the problem:
The same song, (Skull and Crossbones by Klaus Badelt), played under my Mac partition or under my Windows partition is sounding different.
I thought the speakers were broken, but it's not that. Under the Mac iTunes, it sounds horrible, it's distorted and compressed. Equalizer is set the same (Classical), the file is the same, same machine, same application (iTunes 7.6.2), everything is the same. Except the library size. Under Mac it's 13.4 GB, under Widnows only a 100 MB...
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

Neither version of iTunes will make jewel cases.

    Thanks in advance
    Best regards
    Philippe

    Hello Phillipe,
Nothing jumps out at me, but you might try the following:
. Check the status of disk write caches. On linux, the cache may be disabled and it may be enabled on windows.
. Does the windows machine have an SSD?
. Run with -verbose:gc to see if the Linux is being held up by full GC's.
. Use top or some other utility to see if something else is running on the linux box.
. Take some random c-\'s to get some stack traces to see what is going on when things get slow.
. Check on the JVM ergonomics. You may be getting a server or client JVM without knowing. Force it one way or the other with -server or -client.
Here is a (future) FAQ entry regarding disk write caches (poorly formatted at the moment):
During my system testing I pulled the power cord on my server to make the ultimate test of JE's durability claims. I am using commitSync() for my transactions, but some of the data that JE said it had committeed was not on disk when the system came back up. What gives?
Quoting the Berkeley DB Reference Guide:
Many disk drives contain onboard caches. Some of these
drives include battery-backup or other functionality that guarantees that all
cached data will be completely written if the power fails. These drives can
offer substantial performance improvements over drives without caching support.
However, some caching drives rely on capacitors or other mechanisms that
guarantee only that the write of the current sector will complete. These
drives can endanger your database and potentially cause corruption of your
    data.
To avoid losing your data, make sure the caching on your disk
drives is properly configured so the drive will never report that data has
been written unless the data is guaranteed to be written in the face of a
power failure. Many times, this means that write-caching on the disk drive
    must be disabled.
Some operating systems enable the disk write cache by default.
If you need true durability in the face of a power failure, then you should
verify that the disk write cache is disabled or that you have some alternative
means of ensuring durability (e.g. nvram, battery backup, an Uninterruptible
Power Supply (UPS), Solid State Disk (SSD), etc.) Some disk drives may
actually require changing hardware jumpers to enable/disable the write cache.
You can check the status of the write cache using the
hdparm utility on Linux and the format utility on Solaris.
On Windows, use the Windows Explorer. Right click on
the disk drive that you want to check, select Properties,
click on the Hardware tab, select the desired disk, click
on the Properties button, click on
Policies and verify the cache setting with the check box.
On Windows Server 2003 you generally disable the write caching
from within the RAID controller software (OEM specific).

    Hi,
Both are developed with .NET framework, per my knowledge, the biggest difference would be the environment they applied to: one for Windows platform, one for SharePoint platform:

  • Difference between Window Subwindow and Mainwindow

Hi I am new to smartforms. I want to know Difference between Window Subwindow and Mainwindow. are all these same ? Can i create a subwindow inside a main window ?

    Hi
see the different types of Windows
What are the different types of windows in SAP Scripts?
Windows are defined in the Layout sets which define the position and the text to displayed.
The different types of windows are:
    MAIN - Main Window
The main window is a continous window which can extend over several pages. If the text in the main window fills up a page, a new page is created.
Only one main window can be defined in the SAP Script whereas upto 100 instances of main window can be created in a page.
    VAR - Variable Window
This window can have the variable contents displayed on them. The contents of the window cannot exceed the window size. The content can be formatted for each page.
    CONST - Constant Window
The constant window can have a fixed content and is formatted only once.
    Main Windows (MAIN)
Each form must have one window of type MAIN. Such a window is called the main window of the form. For SAPscript forms, the main window has a central meaning:
    • It controls the page break.
    • It contains the text body that may cover several pages.
    • It allows to fix text elements at the upper and lower margins of the allocated page window (for example, for column headings).
As soon as a window of type MAIN is full, SAPscript automatically triggers a page break and continues to output the remaining text in the main window of the subsequent page. Page windows of type MAIN have the same width throughout the form. The SAPscript composer thus avoids reformatting of the text after each page break.
    Variable Windows (VAR)
The contents of variable windows is processed again for each page, on which the window appears. The system outputs only as much text as fits into the window. Text exceeding the window size is truncated; the system does not trigger a page break. Unlike constant windows, the page windows declared as variable windows may have different sizes on different form pages.
    Constant Windows (CONST)
Starting with Release 4.0, the system internally processes windows of type CONST similar to windows of type VAR. Therefore, if you create a new window, always use type VAR.

  • Difference between view and window ?

    Hi All,
Can you tell me a basic difference between view and window , maybe you can correlate your answers with concepts of HTML.
    Rajeev

    Hi Rajeev,
A window is a place for displaying your views. Your view is not available to the outside world. View is available only to your component. However, your window is an interface view, which can be displayed in other components.
A view contains your UI elements. It has a layout (a window does not). A window contains embedded views.
In the window, you can define how navigation between views takes place (by creating navigation links).

  • Can Oracle be forced to use the spatial index for sdo_filter in combination with an or clause? Difference between Enterprise and SE?

We’re seeing the following issue: sql - Can Oracle be forced to use the spatial index for sdo_filter in combination with an or clause? - Stack Overflow (posted by a colleague of mine) and are curious to know if this behaviour is due to a difference between standard and enterprise, or could we doing something else wrong in our DB config.?
We have also reproduced the issue on the following stacks:
Oracle SE One 11.2.0.3 (with Spatial enabled)
    Redhat Linux 2.6.32-358.6.2.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP Thu May 16 20:59:36 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
11.2.0.3.0 Standard Edition and 11.2.0.4.0 Standard Edition (both with Spatial enabled)
Microsoft Windows Server 2003R2 Standard x64 Edition
However, the SQL works fine if we try it on Oracle 11.2.0.3.0 *Enterprise* Edition.
Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
    Kindest Regards,
    Kevin

In my experience sdo_filter ALWAYS uses the spatial index, so that's not the problem. Since you did not provide the explain plans, we can't say for sure but I think yhu is right: Standard Edition can't use the bitmap operations, and thus it'll take longer to combine the results of the two queries (because the optimizer will surely split this OR up in two parts, then combine them).
BTW: when asking questions about queries here, it would be nice if you posted the queries here as well, so that we do not have to check another website in order to see what you are doing. Plus it will probably get you more answers, because not everyone can be bothered to click on that link. It would also have been nice if you had posted your own answer on the other post here as well, because my recommendation would have been to use union all - but since you already found that out for yourself my recommendation would have been a little late.

  • What is the difference between avi and mov

    Hi FCP users,
I am actually an audio guy, but I would like an answer on something.
I work with Logic, and usually use quicktime movies when I am working to movies. But I am working with a client who is an Avid user and swears by avi files. Can someone explain to me the difference. My client explained to me that avi's are better than mov files. He claims their file sizes are bigger, so therefore there quality is better. He said there is some form of compression on quicktime movies which lessen the quality to avi, even if the mov is uncompressed apparently the quality is still less than an uncompressed avi. If this is not true, could someone give me the real big difference between the two.
I thought is was more of a preference, like windows users prefer wav, and apple users like quicktime movies. Like with audio, there isnt a huge difference between aif and wav. Windows users prefer wav and apple users aif.
Thanks in advance for any information.

Should I convert the avi files he has sent to me to mov files. Then pull these into FCP, and then export it out as avi for him. Or should I export out as mov, and then he converts them to avi when he pulls it into Avid on his PC? Very confusing which is the best procedure between Mac and PC.
Thanks in advance for any help.
This is a disaster in the making. You can avoid being part of the train wreck by either renting an Avid, going to live at his house, or telling him to get a Macintosh.
You must find the lowest common denominator video format that will work on both of your systems. That could be conventional DV, dunno, never used Avid and never tried to edit anything on a PC. But I can tell you this with absolute certainty, it will be easier and, in the end, much less expensive for one of you to adopt the other's platform for the duration of this project. The time you waste transcoding, arguing, formatting your drives, buying secondary products, fitting round pegs into square holes, and trying to find a workable solution (that will keep changing as the project gets more complicated) will cost you much more in terms of money out of pocket and creative frustration than simply buying/renting another station.

  • T-Code for reporting stock quantity difference between IM and WM

    Hi All
I'm probably going to kick myself for asking this quastion but is there a report to show the stock quantity differences between IM and WM?
I have searched the forum first but cannot find info.
We have various differences in IM and WM shown in MD04 and LS26. This is usually the result of an unplanned plant to plant transfer not being recipted in at the destination plant.
If no standard T-code is available, which tables can I join to create my own query?
    Thanks in advance
    Darren

    compare MMBE with LS26
Make sure you dont enter a storage location and storage type in selection screen of LS26.
if you post a difference with LI20, then you have just posted a difference within WM, means you moved a quantity from a bin into the difference storate type 998.  The balance of both is still equal to your stock shown in MMBE. You have to clear the difference with IM by executing LI21 transaction. Only then the quantity will disappear from difference storage type and will be adjusted in MM and FI.
LX23 will only report real inconstencies and will adjust them.
If you do a MM movement like 303, then this creates a transfer request in WM, this TR needs to be converted into a TO. to move the stock from the bin to the interim storage type for goods issue.
In your case you created just a negative quant in the interim storage type for goods issue and still have a positive quant in the bin, the balance is equal to the stock shown in MMBE.

  • Office 2013 installed with KB2817430, windowsupdate still finds KB2850036. difference between KB2817430 and KB2850036

    Hi,
I've made a silent Office 2013 installer with /admin and put SP1 MSP's in the updates folder.
After deployment under installed updates it shows: Service Pack 1 for Microsoft Office 2013 (KB2817430) 32-Bit Edition
But when I check for new updates, "ServicePack 1 for Microsoft Office 2013 (KB2850036) 32-Bit Edition" is ready for download and install.
What is the difference between KB2817430 and KB2850036?
It seems that I cannot download KB2850036 and also integrate it in the silent installation.
Another question: Is the updates folder from Office only for servicepacks? or can I put also updates and patches MSP files in here? If yes then i've got a lot of files with the same name and different files sizes. For example After extracting SP1 I've got
the file "proofsp-en-us.msp" which is 10MB and when extracting another patch also i've got a proof-en-us.msp and is 8MB.
So which one need to go in the updates folder?
    Can anyone help me out?
    thanks

    Hi,
As can be seen from below KB articles, KB2817430 only contains Service Pack 1 (SP1) for Office 2013, whereas KB2850036 also contains Service Pack 1 (SP1) updates for other Office 2013 related desktop products. For example, Microsoft Office 2013
Language Pack, Project 2013, SharePoint Designer 2013, Office Proofing Tools 2013, etc.:
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2850036
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2817430
So if you have any of these products on your computer, Windows Update might offer related updates to you.
Regarding the Updates folder issue, you can put any Office software updates in it during the initial installation, such as service packs or hotfixes. A newer patch might make changes to a specific file, you can check the version number of that file, and keep
the newer one in the folder.
Here is the reference you will need:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/office_resource_kit/archive/2011/05/05/using-the-updates-folder-to-deploy-software-updates-with-an-office-2010-installation.aspx
(Note, it was created against Office 2010, however the steps should hold good for Office 2013)
