OTA update - download failed. How do I restart it???

For some reason, the download failed on my phone. Now when I try to check for the update, it says there are no new updates. However, the status says:
Source: Verizon Wireless
Name: 2.11.605.5
Status: Download Failed
Code: 412
Is there a way to restart the download? My software info shows:
Android version 2.3.4
HTS Sense version: 2.1
Software number: 2.11.605.3
Suggestions? (Please don't say factory reset )

Did you power your phone off and restart. Wait for phone to settle and try again?

I just installed the CS6/CC applications I use without any issue. I then was prompted to install various updates. All the updates failed and the message says the downloads failed. I checked my internet and firewall settings and they are fine. I the was able to install a different CC application I hadn't installed before. That process worked fine so I retried all the updates. They all failed again and for the same reason. I have even tried a cold system reboot. Nothing works. I am really baffled.
Has anyone run into this and, if so, were you able to figure it out.

Acrobat Reader update/download fail

I have Acrobat Reader 2.0.0.0. When I attempt to open it, I am required to download updates. The final update is upgrading to version 2.3.0.0. The problem is when I attempt to do the download/update, an error is detected and the download fails. What should I do?

App update download failed with this dialog that cannot be dismissed

In Snow Leopard, in Mac App Store click "Update", download busy spinner keep spinning and never finish. After I quit App Store app, I see this dialog behind all the windows on the desktop:
mouse over it the busy beach ball shows up and click on "OK" does nothing.

Yes, I couldn't figure out how to kill that dialog box. So I reboot. Running Mapc App Store update again and this time it worked.

Pgms requiring Adobe AIR won't work. Update download fails.

Several programs requiring Adobe AIR have stopped working and a new one I downloaded fails to install. The AIR installer says I'm rummimg ver. 3.8.0.870 trying to load ver. 15.0.0.356. CPU is a Dell XPS running

This can happen when the installer's certificate has expired and there's no time stamp in the signatures.xml file. Using the link above, please verify if the .air file has the right information and report back here. I see the time stamp in my install but I still get the same error message. I want to see if this problem is more widespread.

I bought a movie and the download failed, how do I get my money back?

Just 10 minutes ago I bought a 8 dollar movie and it failed to download, however my money was not refunded. How do I get my money back or get it to download properly?!

go into the Mac App Store, click the “OS X Mavericks” link underneath the All Categories dropdown of Quick Links in the right-hand column, and click the Download button underneath the Mavericks logo. With luck it will resume downloading where it left off rather than restart from the beginning.

I keep getting errors when I try to update Download Assistant; how do I fix it?

HELP! Frozen mac due to firmware update crash. How do i restart it?

I have had my Tiger 10.4.7 Mac for 4 months, no problems, but when computer done a firmware update, it got part way through and I lost power to computer. Now when I try to turn on all that happens is a black screen with the white power dot on constant. I tried to install the OS X install disc but I cant get that out now as none of the keyboard buttons seem to work. I tried the support phone line, but they just told me to download a firmware patch. I lookedon the site but have no idea which one they suggest to try, and how would I get it to recognise it anyway? Any ideas please?

There is a download for restoring original firmware on the Apple download page, for each computer.
You need to download it, burn it to a CD and follow the instructions.
And never do a firmware upgrade on any computer unless it is on a UPS. Sometimes it is not recoverable and requires factory service to repair.
But I suspect that the restore firmware CD will work for you.

HT1657 I am downloading a rental movie and accidentally stopped the download. How can I restart the download?

I am renting a movie via itunes to Apple TV and accidently stopped the download, I cant see where to restart download. I have tried to check it out in Settings but cant get any info in regards to "check for rentals"
There must be a way i can view the download and determine how long and re-start the process.
Any ideas would be most appreciated.

Once you've pressed 'buy' you will have been charged, whether or not you then download it. It sounds like your phone was updating and, iTunes gave an error message and your phone is unresponsive. I recommend the following article to help you troubleshoot your phone named:

Use recovery mode
Recovery mode erases your device and restores it, which should resolve the issue. If you previously synced with iTunes or iCloud, you may be able to restore from your backup after recovery.
Turn off your device. If you can't turn it off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time and wait a few seconds for it to turn off.
Plug the device's USB cable into your computer only.
Hold down the device's Home button as you connect the USB cable to it.
When you see the Connect to iTunes screen, release the Home button. If you don't see this screen, try steps 1 through 3 one more time.
iTunes should open and display a message such as: "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes."
Use iTunes to restore your device.

How do I remove unwanted Update Downloads?

When I was using Tiger I had all the automatic updates unchecked. When I upgraded to Leopard they got checked. It had been so long since doing that in Tiger I forgot I had done it. Now I have about 1G worth of unneeded updates: Airport, etc., for programs/services I don't use.
Where are these update downloads and how can I delete them?
