OTBI - Prompt value disappears after running report

Hello All,
Fairly new to the cloud work-space with its reporting tools.
When we try to run the report, the prompts are visible for the first time the report. Upon selecting the values, and running report, the prompts disappear. I tried setting the prompts on the side of the page as well as top of page. Both times, the prompts disappears.
Any thoughts?

Hi,
We need to add a tag in the instanceconfig.xml file to achieve this.
Stop the services and place the below given tag in instanceconfig.xml
<PersistPageState>FALSE</PersistPageState>
The tag can be placed anywhere between the server instance tags in instanceconfig.xml.
Restart the services and login into the application and check by setting some values in the prompts.

Textarea default value disappears after a second in version 11, why?

I use default value in html form element, textarea.
It works fine in firefox 4.0 beta.
But not in firefox 11 and firefox 3, the default value disappears after a second just like a flash.
How can i solve this?

Insert prompt value as column in report...

Hello,
We use reports to populate the recipient list of our campaigns (the segmentation wizard does not meet our needs). The source code assigned to each campaign is as follow, 'YYYYQX', with YYYY being the year of the campaign and X being the quarter of the campaign. During the creation of the report, the year of the campaign is specified by the user through a prompt. The same applies to the quarter. I am trying to build the report in such a way that the data can be downloaded as a .csv file and reimported directly into Siebel, without manual editing, to populate the recipient list for the campaign. This means that I would need to extract values provided by the user through the prompt to automatically populate the source code column in my report. For instance, if the user picked year 2008 and quarter 3 as prompt values, the source code column should be "2008Q3" for each record included in the report.
Any thoughts?

Thanks for the quick answer! This helps me with the formatting part of the problem. The part which still remains to be answered is how to obtain the value specified by the user as a prompt. I use a prompt with a "less than" condition on the field which records when our contacts gave their consent to be entered into our system (we refer to it as consent date). I also use a prompt to filter contacts based on the quarter of the consent date.
For illustration purposes, if the user runs the report for the 2008 Q1 campaign (i.e. prompt for year set to 2008, and prompt for quarter set to 1), the report will include all contacts who were entered in the system during Q1 of year 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005 and so on. In this specific instance, I would like to see "2008Q1" as a constant column labeled "source code" since it will be the corresponding source code for the campaign in which we will later on import the output of the report to create the recipient list. Right now, the only way I can think of getting the information to populate the "source code" column is to obtain data directly from the prompt, if at all possible. If not, any other way to get there would be great.

Need to clear last selected prompt values while refreshing webi report

While using ALL within cascading prompts its still showing the last prompt values selected in infoview and not while editing and trying to run webi reports.
Is there any way to clear this?
I have implemented following options to resolve but did not work
1) Delete the .lov files of universe.
2) Delete the contents in data folder by going into storage directory
3) Implemented the non_persistent concept in prompts
Code is as follows for the filter with in universe
@Select(Customised LOV\State) = @Prompt('Select State','A','Customised LOV\State',mono,free,Not_Persistent,,)
or

In Web Intelligence, the Query Filter Condition consists of 3 parts:
- Object on which condition is applied
- Operator (=,<,>,matches pattern, etc)
- Operands (constant, LIst of Values, etc)
You will find a button with a "?" sign which is also called as Prompt properties. When you click on this button, a new window will open and in this you have an option for "Keep last values selected" which is checked by default.
Uncheck this check box --> Click OK. Run the report and save --> Relaunch InfoView to avoid any caching problems.

Personas 2 SP2: field values disappear after entry?

Hi Folks - we made a couple of changes to our Personas 2.0 flavors for IMA1N and IMA2N. The flavors work fine in our development system. After transporting the flavors to our QA system we now see a problem with data entry. When data is entered into certain fields and the enter key is pressed, the data values disappear. Tab-caching is used on these flavors but I am not sure if this is the issue. It is possible that I missed something when building the transport in /PERSOS/ADMIN_UI. I selected only the flavors to be transported.
Can anyone think of a reason why this would happen?

Does the tab caching indicator turn red? It is possible the QA system or the data used has additional validations that prevent the tabs from being selected to continue the tab caching routine.
If everything looks OK and it is still an issue, please create a support ticket.

Export Dashboard Prompt Values to excel with reports

I have a dashboard prompt. When I export the report, there is no prompt values download with it. Please help.

I dont think we can get that. If you want to see the filters (which are applied using prompt or report level filters) in the spread sheet

CS4 eye dropper values disappear after grouping mask layer with next layer

Have an adjustment/curve with a mask (layer1). Under layer 1 is a second layer with just an image needing color correction(layer2). When I group the top layer1 with image layer2, the colour values disappear in the info pallette. Never did this in any other version of PS..... Strange?

Yes! I am confused too! But, no, I am positive of the approach as I saw it in use. Can you read a .psd image from an e-mail? (I'm really stupid about most things.) If yes, then I can send each step - otherwise...
Do these steps and watch the result.
Open an image.
Make a selection.
New layer via copy from the Layers Menu Icon (L1 - blank)
ON LAYER 1 !!!
CMND + New Layer Via Copy (creates ...)
L2 and it will have the marching ants outline of/from Background.
(Option+Layer Mask and the selection appears in solid black in the layer mask box)
NOTE: You don't have to create that blank L1 - you can 'just' from Background/selection CMND+New Layer and get the outline copied to L1(in this case). What I saw involved first creating a blank layer as above - really. The next steps, make the selection in L2 appear and the L1 disappear (deleting is cheating...)
Wish I had a clue

Getting Database Logon Prompt when trying to run report from Infoview

I have a user who has 2 Crystal reports loaded in InfoView. The reports are similar except for the parameters. When scheduling one of the reports, she is being prompted with the database logon information everytime she tries to enter the parameters. But on the other, she isn't. All she is prompted with is the parameters of the report. Which setting in InfoView or CMC controls the database logon prompt? We are on BOE 11.5.

Dynamic Parameters. You'll want to get all your report designers up on this topic.
When you create a dynamic parameter in a Crystal Report, and then publish it to the Enterprise, you are creating a Business View, with all it's underlying necessary layers. Dynamic Parameters exist to be able to use the same LOV (a list of current customers) from a database for more than one report. These dynamic parameter LOVs act like a mini report that runs against the database and gets the current values for selection, then the selection(s) are used to run the overall report.
So I create a report, and in it I create a dynamic Customer LOV. When I save it, the Enterprise creates a Data Connection (DC), Data Foundation (DF), Business Element (BE), Business View (BV), and the list of values is built on the Prompt Group. So, my Business View Manager, Repository Explorer will show (in the default Dynamic Cascading Prompts folder):
Customer_DC
Customer_DF
Customer_BE
Customer_BV
Customer - Prompt Group
Customer (the LOV)
The idea is that next time I create a report and need a customer parameter, I select the existing dynamic group. If the report designer is unaware of this, and next time they create a new report that needs a customer LOV, they creates a new dynamic LOV "Customer", when saved to the Enterprise, it repeats the above. Since repository objects must have unique names, you will now have additional items something like:
Customer 2_DC
Customer 2_DF
Customer 2_BE
Customer 2_BV
Customer 2 - Prompt Group
Customer 2 (the LOV)
So you can see how that folder will get filled with duplicates pretty quickly. Which ones were created and used in which reports? Have to open the report in Crystal Reports, open the parameter for Edit and verify the LOV name (_2, _3, _4, etc). If you do in fact discover there are dupes, you can change it to a single one for all reports using a dynamic LOV, re-save them to the Enterprise, then delete the dupes in the BVM.
You've already discovered how to use the BVM to update the data connection to include/save the database credentials. The only other common issue is sometimes the LOV rights need to be changed in order to allow users to "Edit" the LOV (select different values in the LOV). You'd have to run the report as an end user, not the admin account or the report designer account to verify that works.
Another item of note is that these dynamic LOVs are run by the Report Application Server (RAS), regardless of which viewer you are using.

Cannot load the report on PDF format after running report

Hi,
I try to use Web.show_document to run the report thru form. After that, the PDF file cannot be shown on browser (IE5.0) but the PDF file is generated successful and if use Acrobat to open it, it work.
An error as 'An error occurred trying to load this document'. (The Acrobat reader is loaded)

I have found a similar problem, I think the problem my be with your acrobat settings.
On Acrobat 5. open an existing pdf file. Then on the menu go to Edit\Preferences\General. => A new screen should pop-up, click on 'Options' on the left hand side, and then check out your WEB OPTIONS. I tend to untick the 'Display PDF in Browser' and leave the others ticked.

How to display multiple prompt values selected, in the report

Hi,
I have a LOV : SELECT DISTINCT CO.V_MOVEMENT.ORIGIN_BRANCH_CODE FROM CO.V_MOVEMENT ORDER BY 1
and a parameter associated with it which is multiple selection enabled. The parameter name is P_BRANCH.
When I am displaying P_BRANCH at the top of my report (RTF), it's showing only one value whereas I need to display all the selected value as Comma Separated.
Please help.

The other option to fetch all the selected values to the report (RTF) is to create a dataset for the field and in the template create a repeating group for each value.
Eg:
1) The SQL is : ( In SQL Server, where :P_S_ORIGIN_BRANCH_CODE is Prompt )
SELECT DISTINCT
:P_S_ORIGIN_BRANCH_CODE as P_BRANCH
2) XML is :
<DATA_DS>
<G_1>
<P_BRANCH>RTM</P_BRANCH>
</G_1>
<G_1>
<P_BRANCH>ABC</P_BRANCH>
</G_1>
</DATA_DS>
3) In report we can display the values as below:
RTM,
ABC
But The Required Output in RTF is : (Values seperated by ",")
RTM, ABC

Values disappear after saving the Purchase Order and Goods Receipt PO

HI,
Our client is using SAP Business One 2007 A(8.00.181) SP 00 PL 47, When they raise Purchase Order for service item, the details and amount disappears automatically after adding the document and similar case for Good Receipt PO. But when they book directly in AP invoice the details and amount will appeared.So please help on solution for the above problem.

If I understood correctly you cannot see the information inside the document you added. This made me think that it is a GUI issue.
In the second answer you specified that when you try to open it again you'll receive the error message saying that there is no total value or total and I assume there is no information in the document.
I believe the second issue is a consequence of the first one.
I was suggesting to open a message on the portal (the message that requires the S number from the partners) in order to investigate the issue better.
However, as you have an error message that pinpoints to certain fields it could be possible to see the information in the tables. Do you have this information?

Server command window disappears after running

Hi,
I have been having major problems with BEA weblogic. I'm just trying to run samples
from their book and I got things to work using version 6.1 which I downloaded
from the site but when it came to Entity Beans, the sample wouldn't work. So I
installed the 6.0 version from the CD and now the server itself doesn't run. When
I Start the Server from the Start Menu, the command window pops up and then just
disappears (at least for teh examples Server). The Default Server opens a command
window, asks for my password (which it prints to the screen by the way...it's
not supposed to do that) and then disappears. I don't know what to do!!
Any suggestions is really truly absolutely appreciated!!

See where that shortcut points and go to that directory to execute that start
script from command prompt, then you can see the exact exception it will be
throwing....
may be wrong start-up password i guess...

InputFile value disappears after openning file

I am using Jdev 11.1.16
Since a moment ago something weird started happening with an inputFile component. Right after you browse and open a file, the filename suddenly disappears from the component.
It doesn't matter if autosubmit is true or false, the filename suddenly disappears, is lost immediately after selecting a file.
I created a brand new page to isolate the issue with other stuff from the page,and the same behavior. What's going on?
I see some other posting on this issue, but no solution. This sounds like a bug as other mentioned, but I don't think so. A couple of days I worked with the inputFile component a no issues.

Drop down list in Table Control - Value disappeared after pressing ENTER

Dear Gurus,
I have a problem in one of my development where I used a table control in which one field is a drop down list.
I used VRM_SET_VALUES and VRM_GET_VALUES for populating the values from the programand not use any domain level value table for that field.
My problem is when I select one value from this list , and pressing enter , the value get disappeared. But if I use a domain for this field with value table then everything working properly.
My doubt is am I doing some miss coding or using the VRM_ function modules improperly ?
