Otg support for lenovo yoga 8

Hi,
I tried 2 to 3 otg cables for my tablet to use standard keyboard and mouse but otg icon is not displayed in my tablet. Can you suggest me otg cable that is compatible with lenovo yoga 8 tab.
Thanks for your help in advance.
Regards,
Naveen

You don't say what firmware version is currently installed, but after I received the  _028_  OTA update for my Yoga 10, I lost all USB functionality, including otg. I also lost the ability to charge while the unit was on, but I may have found a work around for that. I'll be documenting that in a separate thread for others who experienced "slow charging" after the OTA KitKat update(s).

  • [REQUEST] rtl8723au_bt bluetooth driver for lenovo yoga 13

    Hello.
I have a lenovo yoga 13 laptop with 8723 wireless card.
Wifi is working bacause of dkms-8723au-git package. As I know, in 3.15 kernel it will work out of the box and lwfinger will no longer maintain this source code.
Bluetooth is not working and there is no bluetooth driver in aur. It is required to install another package from here https://github.com/lwfinger/rtl8723au_bt.
I cannot build this package, because when I run make command it ends with error make[1]: *** /lib/modules/3.14.4-1-ARCH/build: No such file or directory. Also there was written about no dkms support in code. But I cannot fix it, because I am still noob in Archlinux. And for some reason it is written "Support kernel version 2.6.32~3.13.0" in readme.txt. I have already 3.14.4-1-ARCH kernel.
Could anyone help me to fix that and make aur package for other people to get  bluetooth work on lenovo yoga 13?

I think bluez5 is ok, because when I run bluetoothctl it can detect my cluetooth controller now. However, I cannot start working with it

  • Question about modifying the boot order for Lenovo Yoga

I created a bootable USB for crash recovery. How do I configure the Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro boot order so that it boots from USB first? Is there some function key I need to press while the laptop is booting up to get some kind of boot screen?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I had used the "Create a recovery drive" option. You find this tool by pressing the windows key and typing in recovery drive, and clicking on the Settings category. This launches the Create a recovery drive application. This tool apparently copies over the recovery partition from the hard drive. Thanks a lot for your help. I will try to press the button on top of the power button and see if I can set it up to boot from the recovery usb drive.

  • New Intel HD4400 drivers for Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro?

Intel has new drivers for the HD4400 graphics chipset that's supposed to fix a bunch of issues and that's downloadable from Intel's website. Intel's update utility identifies the drivers as compatible with Yoga 2 Pro, but when attempting to install the installer aborts itself and tells the user to acquire the drivers from the "manufacturer", i.e. Lenovo.
When I check on the Lenovo site, however, there are only drivers dated October 2013.
In graphics driver age that's ancient.
So when is Lenovo allowing its Yoga 2 Pro users to update their HD4400 drivers, which in Oct 2013 were rather broken?
I'm talking about inadequate resolution scaling for the Yoga 2 Pro's high-res screen in some games, for instance, which is a pretty big issue to left unfixed. Meanwhile the Intel Update Manager that came with the Yoga 2 Pro's software bundle cannot, as of May 2014, even connect itself to the net to check for updates for whatever reason.
    Solved!

I was messing around with the power saving features with the Intel Software.

    Panel Self refresh on
Extended battery life for gaming on
Display power saving on (slider to max battery)
    = 4,600 mWh
I didn't get any screen flicker but I only had it on those settings for 10 or 15 minutes
As I am typing this post with one tab in Firefox open it is running at 6,600 mWh. Windows reporting 4:22 Hr and 52% battery remaining.

  • I need help with finding right stylus pen for lenovo yoga 2 pro!

I did read other person's post, but I did not find my answer. I am currently using my fingers to write my notes and it drives me nuts! I do have a stylus pen that have huge round fabric tip. It does not write well. I want a stylus pen with pointy end so I can acturally take my notes on OneNote. I writes equations down so it is very hard to write small and neat with my hand. I do know that my laptop is touch sensitive so it only works with rubber or fabric tips! I could not find any stylus pen with those tip that are pointy.... I need help on finding pointy tipped stylus pen that will let me write well. I am ordering ati-glare screen protector because I can see myself on the screen like a mirror... lol Hopefully this will not keep me from finding a pen that works well! Please give me link to the pen, if you can! Thank you for reading!

    ColonelONeill is correct.
The Yoga 2 Pro does not have a digitizer, so a capacitative stylus, which mimics a fingertip, is what you'd need.

  • Support for Lenovo tablet A7-40 ?

    Hi all,
Recently bought a A7-40 lenovo tablet since then got a few firmware update.
Now i'd really like to know if this tablet will get an upgrade to Lollipop because it's a pretty recent tablet.
Why Lenovo don't provide official image of the android system for each of their tablet and don't provide official roadmap of their upgrade plan ?
Feel like Lenovo means "selling a lot of products and then drop the support".
If any Lenovo officials stops by, a little answer would be appreciated !

Unfortunately your video is private....I can't watch it.
That being said...There's nothing wrong with your tablet, just got updated to Android 4.4 and Lenovo's Android 4.4 new UI=User Interface(you were running Android 4.2 before).
On the old 4.2 UI to remove/uninstall an app you had to long press on the app's icon and drag it to that RUBBISH ICON.
Now on the new UI(and on Android 4.4 devices in general) things are a lot simpler: Just long press on the desired app icon and then press the ''X'' situated on the upper left side of the icon.....That's it....No more ''RUBBISH ICON'' on Android 4.4 KitKat.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers.

  • Bios novo button for Lenovo Yoga

Hi all I am can't find this info anywhere. I am trying to get into bios but I read you have to use the nova button. My question is how? Do you press it in?  Do you need something else? I dont want to break it off.

I have a gen 1 Yoga, and it has no "novo button" and I've been searching for hours for documentation to get into the boot menu to no avail. Any idea how the Yoga 1 people get into the boot meny or BIOS? I'm not kidding that it has no novo button, I've been in IT for decades and would know.
Welcome to the Lenovo Community !
By chance do you have a Thinkpad S1 Yoga ?   If you do then shut down Windows completely by holding the Shift key while selecting Shut Down from the menu.  Once the laptop is completely shut down then power up the laptop and when the Lenovo logo appears press F1 to enter the BIOS Setup or F12 to enter a Boot Menu

  • RETRACTING MY SUPPORT for Lenovo (Repair Complaint)

Based on its warranty repairs service, Lenovo offers incompetent customer service and I will make sure all those around me avoid the company in the future.
I bought my Yoga 2 13 recently, and the touchpad was defective upon opening. I could not even see the cursor flickering on the screen. After confirming that this was not a software issue and most definitely a hardware defect, I got the service request processed and shipped the laptop off via FedEx to Texas shortly. I had heard about the subpar service people experience with the depot. I even considered using my computer with an external USB mouse for the remainder of its life. But why am I getting a not totally functional "new" unit when I paid good money for it?
FedEx shipping is great. No complaints there. I was promised 2-day shipping, and it was delievered within the time frame. THIS is what a good business does.
LENOVO, on the other hand, processed my repair only to come up with a "Your PC is currently on hold due to a service parts shortage." Parts ETA in Sept.! Lenovo will hold my computer for another 2-3 months while I've only had it for less than 2 days. At this point, I paid for a product that is still more Lenovo's possession than it is mine. If this is how Lenovo does business, then I don't want it. Since you want your product so much, take it. Give me back my money. I'll take it to a company that actually earns it.
For those of you who have successfully escalated your case to get a refund, please share what you did. I want a full refund. None of that whatever% restocking fee. Why don't you restock my time wasted on dealing with this? If Lenovo cannot uphold such an exchange for a product still a month into warranty, then I want the laptop back on my doorstep in the next 2 days so I can obtain a fair tradeback with the reseller. I refuse to believe that it takes 3 months for a company specializing in computers to get computer parts. Either the same parts are scarce because of repeat defects or the repair department is still struggling with keeping inventory. Both reflect poorly on post-sales. This is unacceptable.
I look forward to hearing from the community. If Lenovo doesn't resolve this soon, then I look forward to resolving it through other legal means.

If I'm not mistaken, it appears bgriffin2 has taken the necessary steps to escalate my case. Now I'm awaiting confirmation and response from someone able to authorize a refund/resolution.

  • Replacement Touch Screen for Lenovo Yoga

My touchscreen cracked- but I bought a $200 insurence policy from Staples, which is where I purchase my computer (and I will NEVER do that again and I don't recommend it). The policy covered accidental damages, such as a cracked screen, but after jumping through hoop after hoop to file a claim, Staples called me saying that they won't fix it becuase it's too expensive, even though I bought insurence. They offered a refund for my computer, but I refused because I adore my Yoga.
I'm really hoping someone can point me in the direction of a third party repairer, or even somewhere where I can buy a replacement touchscreen and have someone like Geek Squad install it. Any suggestions?

Get the refund for the computer and buy yourself another yoga. I would even request for the old machine back, make a OKR image. Then nuck reformat the hdd and give it back to staples for a full refund. Once done, restore the new yoga with the image you made.

I've contacted the Lenovo Support in Poland and they tend to tell that this is because Microsoft has invalidated my codes for unknown reason. Contacting Microsoft they told me that it its vendor's (Lenovo) problem and they are not responsible - shall I obtain new licence key from Lenovo. The Polish Thinkpad support is working on the problem since January the 9th, with no success.
The Windows grace period is already over and I cannot use my ultrabook now without activating the licence.
Is this the famous Thinkpad support quality? I already own 4 Thinkpads and sorry gyus but I'm considering swithing to some other vendor.
When I called them, the solution provided by the Thinkpad support was... "would you please reainstall the OS once more to get another grace period?" I was thinking it was a kind of joke, but it wasn't... Asking for the responsibility of the Lenovo for the Windows OS they provided I was told that Lenovo is not responsible and I was given the advice to buy the hardware with no OS next time, have box licence from Microsoft separatelly.
I'm really disappointed. This is my last Thinkpad I believe. It seems even having the warranty it is not enoug to get support from Lenovo - I'm on my own...
