[Other 865 Series] Medion Card Reader with MSI 865gm3ls board

Hi
Recently got this board to replace a faulty Medion MD5000 board (had a MSI 6701 in).  Everything working fine with a Prescott 3.0ghz CPU, but I was wondering if there was a way to connect the Medion's card reader to the board? On the Medion it connects to JUSB1, but on the new Medion board, there is a JUSB1 and JUSB2 and the cable to connect is for 18pins on the Medion.  Any ideas guys?
Cheers.

Tough one.... one USB port actually only takes 4 pins = VCC, D-, D+, GND. So you need to figure out what those 18pins are. Any additional LEDs? or anything? So this requires some reverse engineering. Get a multimeter and start reverse engineering! Good luck!

Have a look to this thread and give it a try.
Take care with temps. After unplugging the sys fan, check your temps immediately and for a long time. Make some tests to ensure this fan is not needed in your Mega.
Another solution should be adding a resistor (from 20 to 80 Ohms) to low the revs.

  • EFilm card reader with a fuji film HD card can't transfer images from iphoto to sd card

I have a MacBook Pro running OSX.  I am using an eFilm card reader with an XD picture card.  I want to transfer my images from iPhoto on my macbook pro to this XD picture card.  iPhoto doesn't recognize the card and photos will not transfer.  Help!  There was one photo on the card and it successfully transfered from the picture card into iphoto but I can't get it to do the reverse.  Thanks so much for the help.

Select the photo(s) in iPhoto and export (file menu ==> export - see this user tip for export options) to a desktop folder and then drag the photos from that folder to the desired location on your XD card

  • HT5172 My new Macbook Pro doesn't recognize my card reader (with a CF card inserted).

My new Macbook Pro doesn't recognize my USB card reader with a CF card inserted.  It works fine on my old Macbook Pro.
Do I need a new card reader?  USB 3 perhaps?
I would appreciate any input that you may have.  Thank you.

Hi, closereaching. Instead of spending 12 hours reinstalling your operating system and getting everything back up to date again, which probably won't accomplish anything, why not buy a $10 USB card reader for your Casio's SD card? Or (more expensive, but a much more elegant solution), an ExpressCard SD card reader that can stay in your computer all the time?

Been trying to use an external memory card reader with my macbook air… connecting via usb port, air does not recognize device nor the microSD card from my gopro … help

Some external ones do not work with the Mac's although most do. There are some driver compadibility issues with Mavericks, so I would wait for an update.

  • I have a an iMac 27" and am trying to import some videos of a friends wedding into iMovie however one of the movies won't import. It doesn't say why or give any error message or codes. All of the other movies on the card download with out a problem.

I have an iMac 27" and am trying to import some videos of a friends wedding into iMovie however one of the movies won't import. It doesn't say why or give any error message or codes.
All of the other movies on the card download with out a problem. The movie in question is not 'corrupt' as you can watch it in iMovie direct from the SD card but as soon as you try to import it, it  just says 'error'. iIve tried moving the file to an external drive ( and other variations on this theme) then importing but have had no luck.
    Can anyone please help me.

    The mystery remains....
Thanks for the pointers. The file type is .mts (a proprietry sony one).
I have now found some video converter software (Wondershare and iSkysoft) at a cost. Either will convert this file for me into .mp4. This I can then import into iMovie without any problems. I've checked this on the trial versions and it worked well but without paying am left with a giant watermark in the video
The mystery (which I still havent solved) is why did 20 other .mts files import fine and then this one not?
If you could point me in the direction of some free .mts converter software that would be the cherry on the cake.
    Thanks

  • Unable to pair BB Smart Card Reader with Pc/Laptop

Hi, I have 2 new BB smart card readers (SCR) and Im trying to pair with the PC and I can not. The SCR software can not detect the SCR. I put the ID of the device on the software and is trying to looking for it but can not. It says "Unable to connect to the specified Blackberry smart card reader". I have another SCR and I don't have problems to pair with the computer only with the new ones. The SCR have the last OS. Do you know what could be the problem? I think is a bug of the new SCR.

    Hello,
if I were you, I'd post in the "General Blackberry Smartphone Functions and Features" forum.

  • CAC card reader with Snow Leopard

I recently switched to my macbook pro, but cannot use my CAC card reader (smart card) to access email and systems from work. The only info I can find indicates that the readers are not supported/compatible with my system. Other than using bootcamp or parallels and Windows XP, does anyone have any guidance? Any assistance would be welcome. Thanks.

I'm trying to use my CAC reader on my new MBP...old MB had Tiger, so I bought SCM SCR331 reader and downloaded the middleware available for it. Was able to log into AF Portal, but never my email...always errored out and I assumed that for some reason, the reader or the OS or Safari, was not using the correct certificate (there are at least 2 on the ID card...one for regular log in and another for email). At work, the PC asks me which certificate to use when I access my email through the AF Portal and I choose the one marked EMAIL. My MB would not ask...
Now, with my brand new MBP, the SCR331 is just not detected. Reading through the information on militarycac.com, I must need a firmware update that is not available for Mac...your information on the SGT111 is very helpful, and since its fairly cheap, I think I will buy one and be rid of firmware issues.
Accessing my email from home is very important to me, so this last post has me feeling a bit deflated. Please update if you figure anything out, I only have the MB and MBP in my home. I'm also thinking of seeing if the 'genius' at my local Apple store can help...

  • Will other non-supported video cards work with premiere pro?

I have some older Dell Optiplex 755 and 760's that have limited space for graphics cards.  Most everything that I find that will fit or I can afford are not on the Premiere Pro system requirements list of supported cards.  Will others work?

Initial benchmark results with AMD cards show they are about two times slower than equally priced nVidia cards.
From: Tweakers Page - What video card to use?
To say that one solution is 2X faster across the board on comparably spec'ed cards would be incorrect.
    Based on ...???
AMD and Intel cards used with the perpetual license are at least 10 x slower than nVidia cards when hardware MPE is turned on.

  • SD Card reader with thunderbolt

    Hi,
I have a new 11" Macbook Air and I bought a SD Card reader to connect via thunderbolt, but the SD Card reader thunderbolt connection isnt the same as the one on my Air.
Do I need another connector? the card reader is the same thunderbolt connection as on my iphone, which it plugs into but isn't supported!!!
Which connector do I need or should I just go out and get a USB with card reader?
I am going travelling and want to put photos onto my air from an SD card but don't want to be taking loads of different leads along with me.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Which SD card reader did you buy?  Does it look like this?  If so it has a Lightning connector, not a Thunderbolt connector.
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD822ZM/A/lightning-to-sd-card-camera-reader
Modern iOS devices (e.g., iPhone 5/5c/5s, iPad, and IPad mini) use Lightning connectors.
    Modern Macs have Thunderbolt connectors.
The Thunderbolt connector looks like a Mac Mini Display Port connector (and is compatible with such).

USB based SD card readers work fine on Macs.

  • Ultra slow imports?  This just started seemingly out of nowhere.  One day it works perfect and now it is so slow it is not useable. Tried different card reader with sam results.

One day importing works great and now it is not even useable its so slow...what happened?  Any ideas?  I tried a different card reader...same results.  Tried different card...same results

Ouch, tough spot, but offhand I'd say some memory may have gone bad, or maybe just needs re-seating after all this time.
Not much you can do, but try this anyway...
