Other items connected to computer causing import module problems.
I just got back from a trip that I took my Dell Axim Pocket PC that I used as an mp3 player. When I got back I put the Axim in the cradle to recharge the battery. I then took the SD card from my camera, opened LR3 & tried to import 5 images & it was all but non-reponsive with delayed actions on anything I tried to do,even when I tried to close the import dialog or close LR3 plus anything I clicked with the mouse made the screen flash & flicker. I run LR3 on a Dell i7-920 running Vista 64bit with 9gigs of memory with a 750gb internal with 60% freespace and I have never had any issues of slowness or odd bahavior. After rebooting I still had the same problem so I removed the Axim from it's cradle & LR3 started working correctly,immediately, even with the Windows Active-sync software that the Axim uses still running. The Axim is connected to the computer via a USB 2.0 connection & I am wondering if other peoples import issues are being caused by something they may have connected to their system via a USB connection? Might be worth unplugging your USB devices to see if it makes any difference.
Are the two devices plugged in directly to a port on the computer (front/rear?) or via a hub?
Some non-powered hubs might not have enough current to feed two USB devices, especially power hungry devices, like a pocket pc. This could even happen with some on-board USB controllers too.

Problem description:
My computer is running very slow ever since I switched to Yosemite. I get the multicolored wheel just opening my browser at times and waiting for a page to open, or an application. Any ideas other than rebooting my computer to get the problem to alleviate for a few days?

Hello everyone, Very recently itunes on my windows computer does not let me access any items in my Library except for "Apps" and "Ringtones". When I click on any other items it flashes the redcircle meaning forbidden".
When I connect my iPhone or iPad I can see every items on them but not on the iTunes Library.
They sync fine with iTunes.
I browse all the menus in iTunes but cannot find any clues to what I have done for it to happen. It worked fine previously.

They would only be where you put them. What program did you use to import them? Pics/vids taken with ipod are not part of the sync process at all. You should be importing them just as you would with any digital camera.
If you did not import them, then they are not on your computer. -
Spotlight lists items and shows preview images. BUT what about showing the path/location address of an item in my computer.
Especially important if I've put the item in the wrong folder and what to locate it without multi-steps. iMac OS X 10.5 was more useful.
Old OSX Spotlight function automatically displayed path/location within the machine: e.g. desktop/folder/sub-folder/item.
Can I make Spotlight show the path?Press option-command and the path is displayed at the bottom of the little preview window. Press command-return and the enclosing folder opens.

Photos that were synced from your computer using iTunes can only be deleted by de-selecting them from the folder from where they were synced - and then re-syncing.
Connect the iPad to the computer and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Photos Tab on the right.
Uncheck all of the albums that you want to remove under the Sync Photos From heading
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes
If you are using iTunes 11 and you can't see the sidebar go to View>Show Sidebar from the menu at the top. -

Background - I am using powershell to manage Active Directory, Exchange and Sharepoint Online user data. I have an SSIS package that dynamically builds arguments passed to powershell scripts for creating new and updating existing AD user data, adding/updating
necessary security and distribution groups for each user, enabling exchange mailboxes, and passing custom attribute data to Sharepoint online user profiles.
In effort to maintain the purity of the SQL server running the SSIS package, dynamic sessions are created to servers having the modules necessary for import. This allows me to do all of the things mentioned above without having to install the different modules
on my SQL server.
My final hurdle is automating the Office 365 licensing. To script licensing assignments I create a session to our server having the necessary MSOnline module and import it giving me access to the Cmdlets, like Set-MsolUserLicense. However, before I can use
the Cmdlets I have to connect to the MSOLService.
When I run Connect-MsolService, the credentials modal pops as expected, the appropriate credentials are entered (which have been verified a thousand times over), and I receive the error shown above.
These commands all work fine when I run them from the server where the MSOnline cmdlets are installed, but return the error when run post successful import-module on my SQL server.
Here are the commands used for establishing the session and importing the MSOnline module -

We'd hope to accomplish the connection without having to install anything locally. However, after much trial and error and discussion with Microsoft support team we settled on that the components must be installed locally to work.
So, we finally gave up attempting to use the tools from a remote server, installed the MSOL sign-in assistant and the Azure Active Directory module for Powershell locally and were able to complete the connection.

When using Time Machine, if I delete items from my computer, will they still be backed up to access later on my external hard drive?
In other words, when time machine backs up again, will it delete the files from the back up that I have deleted from my computer?No, I do not believe so. Time Machine would keep all those now-deleted files in previous backups, and as time goes by those backups might be deleted if you needed room, but it would still keep one backup from each day in last month, as well as one from each week forever, as long as you don't start running out of room, then just the oldest would be deleted to make room if needed.
I use a backup drive about double the size of my drive to be backed up, so I would guess it will never get to the point where deleted files being replaced by new ones being backed fill up that drive to the point where backups actually have to get deleted. -
Difficulty using a projector. I have a MBP 17" and am running 10.6.8. Often I need to make a Powerpoint or other presentation at a client and I want to connect my computer to their projector. Either it won't display on the projector at all. Once it displayed but the presentation mode was on the big screen and the presentation I wanted to show was on my MBP screen. I have the adapter( white ones) to attached to the projector cables. I am so frsutrated...it looks so silly not to have a computer work during a presentation..
Another problem one the rare occasion that it shows on the screen is that the presentation does show just my desk top. Any ideas?
Thanks !You often have to turn off Mirroring to be able to set the second "screen"s resolution to something reasonable. When you do, the two screens become an "Exceeded Desktop" joined along one edge, and the Arrange pane in displays prefs can allow you to specify what edge. Initially, it will show a vacant extension of the built-in screen's desktop.
The mouse moves freely across that shared edge, and can allow you to drag the presentation window across to the the projector screen and re-size it to fit. -

You need to let Mail do the Import, and not do this manually in the Finder. However, if you force a reindexing things may get back to normal. This assumes you are not talking about mailboxes in account folder, but rather On My Mailboxes?
To reindex all mailboxes force a reindexing by deleting the Envelope Index. With IMAP or Exchange account, forcing reindexing requires removing the account folder. See:

As long as you do not enable Sharing of any kind (System Preferences > Sharing) no other computer can connect with yours. Also make sure you have your wireless network protected with a WPA2 password.
That's all I can suggest without knowing what OS version you are running (you are not running iOS as that is for iDevices).
