  • Send data to other non SAP system

    Hye techies,
I have a requirement, on click of submit in my bsp application, the data updated by the button event should also be updated in other non SAP system.
Please let me know what is required at my end, also please let me know what should the other communicating non SAP should have to consume the data.
    Regards
    Imran.

    Hello,
you want to consume the data send by sap via .NET?
I think in this case it is better to send the data via RFC. You have to implement an interface in your .NET application which will consume the data  sent by sap. On the SAP side you can define a function module as interface. The .Net and the SAP FM parameters must be the same. Now you define an RFC in SAP via SM59,for exception chosse "start on explicit host" and then entery the .Net/SQL server adress and your programm. in your abap code you call your fm...
    CALL FUNCTION XYZ DESTIONATION 'XYZ'
. In your .Net progamm consume the data send by sap and write it in the db. I hope this explanation is ok for you. We solved problems like yours, with this way.
A direct change of your SQL Data via BSP, in my opinion, is NOT possible

  • Non-sap screen look and feel in webdynpro abap

    Dear Experts,
I have a Webdynpro ABAP application which is fetching data from LFA1 and LFB1.
My client wants a non-sap look and feel onto the screen, he doesnt want the SAP Color and all.
How can i achieve this to look it commercial ??
    Please suggest.
    Regards,
    Mamai.

    Hi Mamai,
WDA,maintain two parameters WDFORCEEXTERNALSTYLESHEET = 'X' and WDTHEMEROOT = 'CustomerThemes".
for ur application , add the parameter sap-ep-themeroot=/SAP/PUBLIC/BC/UR/NW5/THEMES/MYCUSTOMTHEME to ur application URL , where MYCUSTOMTHEME is the theme u have created under the path /SAP/PUBLIC/BC/UR/NW5/THEMES/ in ur system.

  • PDF attachements need to be accessed by other non-SAP applications

I recently was approached with a potential new business requirement that requires access to the documents that have been attached to contracts in our SAP RE-FX system.  Currently the users use the GOS to attach a document of some sort (letter, lease info, etc.) to a contract object.  Our GIS system has the contract lease information available to it and would like to be able, when they click on a lease area on a map, have access to the PDFs that are stored in our SAP system so they can be displayed along to users using the GIS system.
Since those documents are currently stored in the sap database table (no customizing or content server setup) SOFFCONT1, those documents are not available to the external system.  They would like to have a central location where PDFs are stored and can be accessed by the SAP system or GIS system.
Is this a possibility at all?
My understanding to date is minimal on GOS and DMS and document management.  Very little was/is known about it other then users can attach documents when they click the button.  As an x-dba I've always been a little concerned about storing those growing number of large pdf files in the database and in a single table as well.  So for the moment I'm doing what I can to learn about what options are available, and what information I can pass on to our GIS time as to a possible way to share (read only) those files.
Thanks for any insight or advice you may have.
We are on ERP 6 EHP 6.

    Hi Eric,
    >> I know this isn't the ideal place to ask a Vignette question...
You may feel free to do so.
    But the answer is:
The SAP Portal can access Vignette through iViews, KM in the Portal offers an API (the Repository Framework API) to which Vignette could connect or via which you could connect Vignette and this would e.g. make Vignette searchable trough the SAP Portal.
    You see the tendency, right?
If Vignette wants to search (and before this they will have to index and crawl) KM repositories, the connectivity question lies on Vignette's side.

  • Triggering events in Non-SAP Applications

    Hi All,
We have implemented Knowledge Management and Collaboration using EP 6.0 SP14 , KMC SPS14 and TREX 6.1.
We are in need to implement the following requirements:
    1. <b>When a document is approved in KM, the same has to trigger event(s) in other Non-SAP applications</b>
    (ie. an exisiting Java application).
Kindly let me know , if this is possible and if so how ?

  • Shift of Customer service department from Non SAP system

    Hi All
I have two companies one in SAP and other Non SAP .Now the Client has planned to move/MERGE  the Customer service department  (ONLY ) of the non SAP legacy to the existing SAP company code ,though there is no physical movement of Goods from the  new merged SAP plant since all sales process involve 100% drop shipment. So for this what should be the ideal approach ?
My gues would be to create New Sales area/Sales office/ sales group assigned to the SAP company code, data upload of material master/customer master/vendor/open order/open billing etc..
Pls advise if this the apt one ?
    thanks

    Hi Will,
Please check configuration "Reset Time Series for Incoming ProductActivityNotifications". This should help you reset old values with new values.
IMG - Supply Network Collaboration -> Basic Settings -> Processing Inbound and Outbound Messages -> Display of External Exceptions and Logs -> Reset Time Series for Incoming ProductActivityNotifications
    Hope this helps you.

  • Installing Oracle for SAP on existing non-SAP RDBMS

The title says it all -
I haven't been able to find any real docs supporting or not supporting the practice of using an existing Oracle 10.2 RDBMS to add an SAP DB.  I know it's technically possible, but since the SAP Oracle installer is configured to build a new RDBMS for each SAP instance/DB installation, I'm wondering if it can be altered and piggy back on an existing one.
The reason is I have a customer who would like to do this so they can continue to use an existing DEV Oracle server without adding the stress of an indepedent set of oracle binaries running, and consuming resources.

    > But aside from that - let's assume the release and patch levels from their own DBs are equal to the requirements from SAP.  What other considerations/issues/supportabilty problems might be encountered?
If it's not a production system you could certainly go for it.
I think though, that it's MUCH LESS maintenance work using a second ORACLE_HOME than to try to fiddle with the huge amount of single/interim patches SAP requires. If you just check
    Note 871096 - Oracle 10.2.0: Patches/patch collections for Oracle 10.2.0.2 (59 interim patches)
    Note 1137346 - Oracle 10.2.0: Patches/patch collections for Oracle 10.2.0.4 (39 interim patches)
I can imagine you having a pretty hard time aligning that with the other non-SAP databases. On top may come incompatibilities with OPatch (SAP uses a "special OPatch") where you may need to switch between the official one and the "SAP-one" depending on which patch you install.
The only additional resources the new ORACLE_HOME uses is harddisk space (some GB) - which shouldn't be more expensive than the work you'll need to invest to keep the system and working for both.
Technically it can be done - certainly.

  • Need to send cookie to non-SAP backend from URL iView

    Hi,
I have a backend application which takes a cookie for
(non-SAP) SSO purposes. I have created an URL iView
in my EP 6.0 SP2 that correctly displays the content
of that web page, i. e. the login screen.
However, even when I have a cookie in my browser, it still
displays that login screen, i. e. the cookie is either
    not sent or not recognized.
I then created a simple test servlet on a backend server
that prints the contents of all the HTTP headers. When
I connect my browser directly to that page, I can see
the cookie. When I connect my iView to that URL, I
do not see the cookie. So apparently the iView does
    not send the cookie.
As I learned, in EP 6.0 SP3 there is a "Fetch Mode"
property for URL iViews which allow to define whether
the URL in the URL iView should be retrieved by the
server or the client. This seems to indicate that in
SP2, always the server issues that request, which would
explain why there is no cookie in the request (since only
the browser holds these cookies). So I presume if I
would use SP3 with Fetch-Mode set to Client, this might
work. But then again, this fetch mode is not really
encouraged by the documentation and only recommended
if you are really desparate ...
    So the question basically is:
    - are my assumptions above correct?
    - is there a way to have the EP server send cookies to
      my backend systems with SP2?
I'm a little puzzled that this doesn't work out of the
box, since my understanding was that SAP SSO tokens are
also transported to backend systems using cookies, and
this is supposed to be on by default for EP. So I was
expecting to see at least the SAP SSO tokens in all
HTTP requests to backends. Apparently, the world is
    not that easy.
Any insights would very much appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Matthias

    Additional thoughts:
In general your assumptions are correct. When using client side fetch mode then the cookie should be forwarded, and I would not expect problems there. When using server side mode then the cookie domain changes and becomes the portal domain, and as a result the cookie is kept in the browser, but is a little useless. I'm not 100% familiar with how we solve this problem when using SSO2 cookie in server side. Yoav, can you elaborate ?
The reason the documentation was not in favor of client side is because at the time the idea was to encourage the users to use the portal server cache. However, this seems less relevant now, because only the first request will be cached, but not the inner calls of the html page.
Bottom line - I don't see any issue with using client side, and actually the default in FP is client side. So I would simply modify the iview to use it.

  • How to create a sales order having incomplete non-sap data as input start

We have facing the following problem in our company. We have a non-SAP system where we pull data from. We built a webservice that enables a user to pull data from the non-sap sustem by entering a key value (e.g. project number). Pulling the non-sap data is not a problem. However, once the user have pulled the data via the webservice, this data (e.g. material number, qty and sales unit) needs to be transfered to the va01 screen directly. The user will have to complete the missing master data like sold to party, ship to party, customer PO number etc. Then by hitting enter standard SAP will run and if everything is OK, the user has to save the order and a sales order number will be created. We know there a lot of techniques that can be used like Idoc, BAPI, XML, RFC. We have XI, Adobe and Portal available. Does somebody have an idea for a solid solution to get this to work?
    kind regards
    Angelique Heutinck

You want to Create Sales Order thru VA01 after puling the data from NonSAP system. Moreover you want that the Incomplete Sales Order will be saved.
if thats the requirement - I ll suggest
While doing VA01 - start from Create with reference Sales order. in that case default Sales Orders will be automatically created and using the BDC you can change the items  or Customers you want to change. Once the Order number is created properly  - u r free to change eveything of that Order.
Otherwise calling BAPI / RFC for creating the sales orders is the most safest way of achieving it. But again if you dont have the complete data - calling RFC  or BAPI does not make much sense. because they will fail to create the Sales Order in case u dont fill up the mandatory fields.

  • ABAP to FTP connect to non SAP UNIX system

    Greetings~
I'm looking for a way (via function modules and/or BAPI) to transfer data in flat files from an SAP UNIX system to a non-SAP UNIX system using an ABAP program. I see FM's FTP_CONNECT and FTP_COMMAND however these seem to only work with UNIX systems running SAP as they require RFC_DESTINATION information. Anybody know which (if any) FM's can be used without the necessity of the target system running SAP/RFC?
    Thanks!

    Regards,
    Aslam Khan

    Hi,
    and thanks for the answers.
Now I have the oracle client installed on the BW server, and the dbsoraslib library has been copied to the BW run directory. But any attempt to connect to the system just gives me the error "No shared library found for the database with ID AGRESSO"
(I get ths error no matter what I input when trying to set up the connection, also if I intentionally gives wrong ID and/or IP)
I'm wondering if my input is the problem, and then, what would be correct.
    My tnsnames.ora looks like this
    AGRESSO =
      (DESCRIPTION =
        (ADDRESS_LIST =
          (ADDRESS = (COMMUNITY = tcp.world)(PROTOCOL = TCP)(Host = xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx)(Port = 1521))
          (ADDRESS = (COMMUNITY = tcp.world)(PROTOCOL = TCP)(Host = xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx))(Port = 1521))
        (CONNECT_DATA =
          (SID = db06)
    (edited out ip adress)
When creating the connection I give
    Logical system name "AGRESSO",
source system name I assume I can give whatever here.
Type and release I leave blank.
    Next screen I give:
DB Connection: AGRESSO (Can not be edited)
    DBMS: ORA
Username/passord as given by the server admin
Conn. info I have tried many different inputs. AGRESSO, the IP adress, the SID (db06), but no luck.
Anyone have any knowledge about what to give as input? (if the tnsnames.ora is lacking information etc)
    Thanks for any input.

  • Connect Non SAP Oracle DB and MSSQL DB to SAP BW 7.0 Orace 10g system

    Hi All,
Well I have a scenario, where I have to connect Non SAP Oracle 9i DB and MSSQL DB (2000, 2005) to SAP BW 7.0 Orace 10g system.
There are all together 4 Non SAP systems to be connected.
Up till now I have understood that in order to have to integrate Oracle 9i to BW system - TSNNames.ora has to be updated, then create new Logical system, then Create Source system in RSA1 with all the required information, Create user at Oracle 9i end.
As far as MSSQL Server is concerned - Client Software + DB Shared  Library has to be installed in BW server.
Could anybody please guide me in the complete Basis Activities including above to complete the process.
I tried to create Source System, the initial screen has fields - Logical System, Source System & Type and Release.
I have created the Logical system through Tcode SALE
How to create Type and Release - for DB Oracle 9i & MSSQL 2000/2005.
Does OS version of DB & BW also matters ? Do we need to have that information as well.
    Thanks & Regards

Do we need to manually update Listener.ora as well so as to function.
All this is not letting me create Source system.
    Gives me following errors
TNS-12514 TNS:listener could not resolve SERVICE_NAME given in connect
    descriptor
Cause: The SERVICE_NAME in the CONNECT_DATA was not found in the
    listener's tables.
Action: Check to make sure that the SERVICE_NAME specified is correct.
    TNS-12541 TNS:no listener
Cause: The connection request could not be completed because the listener is
    not running.
Action: Ensure that the supplied destination address matches one of the
addresses used by the listener. Compare the TNSNAMES.ORA entry with the
appropriate LISTENER.ORA file (or TNSNAV.ORA if the connection is to go by
way of an Interchange). Start the listener on the remote machine.

  • IDOCS: Inbound non-SAP system

    Hi
The outbound idocs works fine. I want to create an inbound goods receipt/movement idoc.
Should i rather write RFC to update the SAP system from a non-SAP system ?

    Hi,
    Your first query...
Should i rather write RFC to update the SAP system from a non-SAP system ?
Always prefer using idocs for posting before BAPI / RFC fucntion module.
As you have mentioned outbound idocs are working fine..which means you are able to create idocs from non-sap system..right? If so you can use same idoc type for posting.
    Your second query's answer...
Check out following code for calling BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE
You need to code to call function module /BAPI in your posting program as follows..
append the data into the corresponding internal tables and work-area, check for the IMPORT and TABLES parameter in the function module BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE.
    a.     GOODSMVT_HEADER-DOC_DATE = SYST-DATM
    b.     GOODSMVT_HEADER -PSTNG_DATE = RECEIPT_DATE (Input File)
    c.     GOODSMVT_HEADER - HEADER_TXT = BATCH ID (Input File)
    d.     GOODSMVT_HEADER - GR_GI_SLIP_NO = GOODS_INWARD_NO (Input File)
    e.     GOODSMVT_ITEM-MOVE_TYPE = Constant ‘101’
    f.     GOODSMVT_ITEM-PO_NUMBER = PURCHASE_ORDER_NO (Input File)
    g.     GOODSMVT_ITEM -PO_ITEM  = PURCHASE_ORDER_LINE_NO (Input File)
    h.     GOODSMVT_ITEM –PLANT = From Selection Screen (WERKS)
    i.     GOODSMVT_ITEM – STGE_LOC = From Selection Screen (LGORT)
    j.     GOODSMVT_ITEM -ENTRY_QNT = QUANTITY_RETURNED (Input File)
    k.     GOODSMVT_ITEM -NO_MORE_GR = COMPLETE_INDICATOR (Input File). Value ‘X’ if status = ‘X’ else space.
    6.     Call the function module BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE.
    7.     Use function module BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT to do the commit work.
append the data into the corresponding internal tables and work-area, check for the IMPORT and TABLES parameter in the function module BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE.
    a.     GOODSMVT_HEADER-DOC_DATE = SYST-DATM
    b.     GOODSMVT_HEADER -PSTNG_DATE = RECEIPT_DATE (Input File)
    c.     GOODSMVT_HEADER - HEADER_TXT = BATCH ID (Input File)
    d.     GOODSMVT_HEADER - GR_GI_SLIP_NO = GOODS_INWARD_NO (Input File)
    e.     GOODSMVT_ITEM-MOVE_TYPE = Constant ‘101’
    f.     GOODSMVT_ITEM-PO_NUMBER = PURCHASE_ORDER_NO (Input File)

    i.     GOODSMVT_ITEM – STGE_LOC = From Selection Screen (LGORT)
    j.     GOODSMVT_ITEM -ENTRY_QNT = QUANTITY_RETURNED (Input File)
    k.     GOODSMVT_ITEM -NO_MORE_GR = COMPLETE_INDICATOR (Input File). Value ‘X’ if status = ‘X’ else space.
    6.     Call the function module BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE.
    7.     Use function module BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT to do the commit work.
    Hope this will help you.

  • Can PPDS be linked to non sap system which records production

Hi, We are currently planning with SNP and PPDS but for part of our business, the manufacturing execution occurs in a non sap black screen archaic system. Is there any way to consume PPDS planned orders with the data from an external Production recording system? Or is the only way to consume PPDS planned orders via using SAP R3/ECC?
I have dug through the MES PDF and the BAPIs and cant find a way to "consume" the PPDS planned orders without using SAP R3.
    Thanks
    j

    Hi Lokesh,
There is no limitation to connect two non SAP Systems,PI will support to connect two differt non SAP Systems.
The reuirement you mentiioned bit not clear, what i understood is use JDBC Adapter at sender side and SOAP adapter at receiver side. How to use these adapters search in sdn you will find tons of documents.
