Other party complain about crackling noise in call

Had my Z2 for a little over a week now and in 3 different calls I've had the person on the other side complaining that my voice crackles, cuts out for a small while every few seconds and makes a "robotic" sound, hard to describe they say.
It only happens when I use the phone normally, seems to disappear when I turn over to speaker phone or headset
Should I return the phone to my service provider or is this something that is present on all phones?

  • IPhone 4 - other party can't hear me during calls?

Just the other day I was on the phone with one of my friends, when all of a sudden she said she couldn't hear me anymore. I wasn't too worried, but after I called about 4-5 other people to test this, I became slightly concerned. The next step I took was to take a voice memo- it worked fine, so I don't think the mic is the issue. I updated to iOS 6.1 (I believe?) last night after all of this, and it appeared to work. However, after being on the phone for some time the other person could not hear me. I have tried just about everything.. I tried simple remedies like playing/stopping music and restarting my phone (which worked for 5 minutes in a call), unplugging/plugging in headphones.. neither have worked. I also tried turning my phone off for the night (last night) and in the morning it appeared to work, but alas, it's no longer working. I am at my absolute wits end and I haven't a clue what to do to make this work. I'd really only like to factory reset my phone as a last resort. Are there any things anyone has tried that have worked? Is this a software or a hardware issue? Can I have this repaired by Apple? Any help would be great.

Unfortunately the previous IOS wont be restored just your data. We´ll have to wait for the new IOS 6.1.1 which is currently being tested. Here I really verified the problem has been caused after the upgrade and It´s really a software issue because if when I answer the call I scream the first HELLOOO then the mic sensibility will be changed for the rest of the talk, so the mic or hardware is ok.
Many 4S owners are complaining not just about this specific problem but others related to call drops. We´ve got to wait

  • Phone call becomes garbled to other person after about a minute into call, but I can hear them clearly.  I stood by a tower with full signal and was still hung up on because I couldn't be heard after about a minute.  Please help.

This is a recent occurrence.  I either initiate or receive calls, and about a minute into them, the person cannot hear me because it becomes so garbled to them, but I can hear them clearly.  I was able to make one call that was completely clear, and that was tonight, but it was one only.  I've done a master reset, but I have not deleted all data, as I'm afraid to do so and lose pictures.  The only other option I supposedly have is to replace the phone.  Please help.  What could this be?

  • Earbud microphone is too sensitive - other party complains

I just upgraded from an iPhone 3GS to a 5S.  Now whenever I use my headset to talk to people they all say that it sounds like I'm typing on my keyboard with a sledge hammer.
I've done some testing and sure enough, the microphone on the headset is insanely sensitive.  It's literally louder for the other person hearing my keyboard clicks than it is for me.
This happens whether or not I use the earbud headset that came with the iPhone 5, or my more traditional headset that I always use here at my desk.  I don't know the model # of that, but I've been using it for years without complaint.  It's a regular across the top of the head, padded ear speakers and mic on a flexible stem with a foam wind suppressor.
Is there any way to get into the settings of the headset microphone sensitivity?
Could it somehow be possibly related to the fact that this phone is in an Otterbox? I suppose the box could theoretically be blocking some sort of noise cancellation input on the phone itself.  This box is heck to get off.
Hmm..... I see upon getting ready to his post that there's an update to the OS.  I'm on 7.02 and there's a 7.03 available.  One of the fixes listed is related to [Fixes an issue that could cause VoiceOver input to be too sensitive].  I wonder if that's the issue?  Will post this message, update, and post back.
    Thanks,
    Paul

I've never had that problem with my first iPhone which was the 4 then the 4s then the 5 and now the 5s, but no offense to apple (my friends tell me that I'm a fanboy) I use the Bose MIE2 and I've beeen using it for 3 years now and love it.
It's an investment, but well worth it.  I also use the Bose bluetooth headset series 2 and for noise cancellation the Beats studio.  Again, all investments but no problems with those.
I apologize if this doesn't help you?  Have you tried going to an apple store to let them know about your complaint?

  • Crackling noise then disconnects

My iPhone is making a crackling noise during calls, then drops them.  I have powered off & back on

How is your iphone working otherwise? Have you spoken with your cell phone carrier, it might be a network issue not a phone issue. You could try a new reinstall with factory settings but I would speak with your cell phone provider first.

  • HOW TO COMPLAIN ABOUT NOKIA 6230i

    Hi Nokia Users
I would like to request that more people with 6230i handsets complain to nokia either by phone or email.
The reason i am asking everyone this is that it seems whatever is posted here in discussions doesnt get any attention from nokia.
I and many others have complained about this handset for months and nothing has happend not even an NSU response.
Nokia seem to focus more on newer handsets and forget about the majority of the true honest customer.
This handset should be seen as priority immediately over and above all other handset right now regardless of what anyone else thinks.
So email nokia or phone get as many complaints as possible.
    Madmick

just to make it clear to everyone the 6230i was released in 2005 not 2002 .
the mobile everyone is getting mixed up with is the common old 6230 note no (i) at the end.
even though this mobile is nearly two years old it should still have full support remember you and everyone else who has a nokia handset wouldnt like it if support for it was cut off after just six months..
so dont expect me to accept the lack of support as i have stated many times before.
read as many of my posts as you can before making any statement or posting any answer to me.
just a small breakdown of the issues
the 6230i has over 30 known faults with firmware older than 03.80 or 03.88.
the present released firmware is definately 04.22 not 03.88 and that is directly from nokia and a number of friends worldwide who work in the mobile phone industry including and especially Nokia...
so to put it politely i should have a free firmware for my handset like everyone else as i have no warranty and i am definately not paying any more money for my £200 handset that has already cost me an extra £150 since purchase .
so please do not write back and say take it to a service centre as they are the main problem..

  • In call noise & other party doesn't hear my voice.

    Hello
I'm living in Dubai and sure you can expect the temperature over here because this has to do with the problem.
Right now for example it's almost 107 F outside.
The problem is that when I stay with my iPhone 4 in the sun for a while and this happens almost 3 to 4 times a day, the iPhone will heat and when I use it I hear noise from the internal speaker and the other party will not hear my voice clearly for a while then will not hear me at all.
This happens with internal speaker & headset and sometimes with the loud speaker as well.
5 or 10 minutes after I go to an air conditioned place it will cool down and everything will be fine.
I have tried to go to the carrier who sold me the phone for that problem but they require to see the problem live.
They don't fix iPhones, they just replace them if they found a fault.
Every time I try to go to them while I have this problem and until my turn comes, the iPhone is working fine as it cooled down.
I have tried to ask them to take the phone for a check up for a whole week, they refused and told me that they aren't allowed to take phones unless they will be changed...........should this be my problem ?
I also asked them to send someone with me outdoors for 15 minutes to see the problem live but they also refused.
The only thing they tried was to upgrade the FW version twice and this didn't help.
Moreover, today I was passing by another outlet for the same carrier and the problem happend so I ran into the outlet and asked CSR to hear the problem, I heared it, then I aksed him to communicate the problem to the other outlet, but amazingly he refused by telling me that this is out of his work scope and can't make sure that the problem is a hardware one !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm not asking about how to fix it, because I know that this is a hardware issue, I.m asking how can I get my message to someone from Apple who can aid me with this problem.
Thanks in advance and I hope I can get some helpful reply.
One more question for you guys, does any one from apple follow up on this forum ?

Well, this a little old I know, but I thought to tell the guys in here the update.
A few weeks afetr my first post and while I was passing by near the service center the problem happened and was aggressive more than ever, I rushed to the service center and bypassed the crowed directly to the service agent who knows about my problem and gave her the phone and she was able to hear the noise.
She got back to the service center manager and confirmed the problem but at that time they had no stock.
A few days later they called me to come and pick a new iPhone.

  • So I have a 1.5 year old Macbook Pro (Early 2011) and since last week, it has been making a crackling noise that has escalated to a grinding noise. I went to Genius - they told me my HD was fine, but they could do nothing about the noise. I'm super upset

I have a Macbook Pro that I bought new in August of 2011. It's been wonderful up until now. Last week, I was watching a lot of Netflix for a day, but then it began making a tiny crackling noise when I started my computer. It wasn't really bothersome, but then it's escalated into a grinding noise. A loud grinding noise. I haven't been watching Netflix and barely use any of my applications. My RPMs vary when I'm idle  and can go up to 5000. Sometimes, it falls to as low as 1600.
I went to the Genius Bar today and the technician did two diagnostics to test the HD and the parts as a whole. Everything was fine. I was like, ***. Anyways, I asked if there could be anything done for the fans because I was willing to pay (I'm out of warranty). But he said they couldn't DO ANYTHING. That I would have to deal with the annoying noise. I called up Apple and told them what happened and she said that there was nothing else that could be done.
I am so ****** because I did pay good money for this product and I expect to  have the option to repair, ESPECIALLY since I'm willing to pay for the repair. Can anyone tell me what to do? Did anyone ever have this problem?

I would guess the fan is the cause of the noise. Suggest you take a look at it.
This site has a wealth of information about getting inside a Macbook or Macbook Pro.

  • How is it possible that so many people complain about the echo sounds during their phone calls, and that there is no reaction or sollution for this problem ???

so many people complain about echo sounds during their phone calls , and Apple has no solution for this PROBLEM.???????
I have an IPHONE 5, but I think if no solution is given by Apple, this one is the last iphone i bougth.

My experience with iOS7 crashing seems to be tied to bluetooth and when I activate the keyboard in relationship to having a text box on the screen.
Apple rarely acknowledges an issue, once they fix it, they just quietly bundle it into an update and it goes away.
Issues can also be very difficult to track down given the number of iPads out there (millions) and I doubt (excepting school or business set up ones) that two iPads are identical. Issues can be hard to track down when the common denominator is hard to determine.

  • I have installed the new OS X Yosemite and now my FaceTime is causing problems. I can make and receive calls, the recipient can hear me, but I can't hear them. All I can hear is a crackling noise. The speakers work fine for everything else.

Got the same problem – even after the upgrade to OSX 10.10.1. A restart usally helps. Even though the calls sometimes drop I got no crackling noise problem on iOS, though.

  • Crackling noise during iPhone call on Yosemite

I am using an iPhone 6 with iOS 8.0.2 and an Early 2011 15" MacBook Pro. When I use the iPhone calling with Yosemite feature, it connects, works, but I hear a very loud crackling noise that comes from the computer, starting immediately when the call is placed and continuing for a few seconds after I hang up, no matter what number I dial. Has anyone else experienced the same problem? Might it just be interference? It is so loud that it gets picked up by the microphone and makes having a sustainable call impossible.
    Thanks for your help!

I found this happening when I was calling with Yosemite through my iPhone 5, but only when I was calling my wife's iPhone 4. When I called my land line, the noise wasn't there. Were you calling an iPhone 4?

  • Crackling Noise When Receiving Calls

Hey, I've had my iPhone 3G since its release. This morning, I noticed that when I recieve a call, the person on the other side can hear me fine, but all I hear is a crackling noise. When I make a call, its fine. When I receive a call with the iPod speakers in, its fine.
It was fine last night, it just started this morning. Does anyone have any idea what this could be?

This is probably a network problem, not the phone, if you can hear OK on some calls but not others. If you consistently can hear through the headset, but not the earpiece speaker, that may be another problem and try resetting the phone, or restoring it. What happens when you use the speakerphone?

  • Sometimes when I am trying to make a call, I can't hear the connecting tone in my phone, but the other party's phone is ringing. It happens every now and then (not everytime), I wonder if you guys face this problem too.

sometimes when I try to make a call to someone, I can't hear the connecting tone im my phone, but the other party's phone is ringing.  I have to end the call again and make another attempt.  The connecting tone could only be heard after I made a redial.  I have checked with many friends on different telcos, and they told me they also face this kind of problems.  Can this problem be rectified?

I went back to the service provider twice and they reactivated my phone the first time and the second time the tech rebooted the phone and told me how to tell if it was on my end or the other person's end.  Of course it didn't happen at the store, but right after I left I called a family member (on my plan) and the phone did this problem. It can be frustrating.  The cell towers are strong in my area, so it can't be that.  My next stop is to an Apple store but I am waiting until after Christmas.  I can't deal with the shopping crowds!!!
