Greetings.
I am a teacher of English as a Foreign Language. I bought an iPod Touch (32GB) and put all the audio material I'm using in my current classes onto it. Wonderful! I also put some EFL video material onto it. Again, wonderful. (Many thanks to the free, open source "Handbrake" for the conversions from DVD to mpeg 4 files.) I can connect the iPT to a TV or any device with the "yellow/white/red" input sockets using the AV composite cable.
Fortunately, I have access to wireless broadband on campus but, although the iPT plays movies & You Tubes, displaying websites on other screens is not possible, or so I believe.
I would very much like to use the iPT to show presentations by pointing the browser to Google Docs where I have already uploaded my files. I would also like to display other documents I have made by using web-based applications rather than lugging the laptop and related stuff around with me.
It seems that Apple have produced a light, portable wi-fi device with the capability to show visual content on other screens, but have not allowed the device to extend that capability to the display of web pages. This is mystifying.
Is there a way of getting the iPT to show the content on the iPT screen on other, classroom sized, screens without lots of other equipment?
I am aware that, in Office 2008, (but not in Office 2007 for Windows), presentations can be saved as .mov files and imported to the iPT but surely a facility which already exists could be extended to make such workarounds unnecessary.
The iPT offers a way for teachers & others to carry all of their resources in a compact, lightweight manner but the failure to extend display functions to web pages is a serious drawback.
Any constructive comments or advice would be most welcome.

How do I play a video in full-screen mode on one screen of a dual-screen Windows 7 system without blanking out the other screen? Not losing the other screen would be useful as I would like to, for example, monitor my emails whilst watching a video or to work on a project whilst watching an instructional video.
Note : Resizing a window to fill the screen is not acceptable as it still leaves unsightly borders.

Just installed OS 8.3, it opened and locked into iTunes connection logo as opening screen. I cannot get to any other screen. Hard close down has not solved it and I cannot get to usual homescreen to access the reset options. Ideas?

Earlier today my iPad which was using OS 8.2) kept shutting down every few minutes. I thought it might be some new incompatibility connected with the recent release of OS 8.3,. So, I updated to OS 8.3. It took many attempts and a very long time - over an hour - because the iPad kept shutting down mid-process. Supposedly 8.3 is now installed, but all I get is the Apple logo followed by a screen showing a connection, cursor arrow pointing up-screen to a box reading "iTunes". I cannot get out of that screen to any other screen and can only close by hard shut down, fully powering off (home button + power button). When I restart the device it shows first the Apple logo for a few seconds, then the iTunes connection logo. Nothing else. This has been going on for about three hours now. I am not an iTunes user so I am not sure what to think or what to expect.. Is it maybe something to do with iTunes being updated in the background? 3 hours seems a long time for an update whatever it is. Is anyone else encountering this problem? Does anyone have any suggestions, bearing in mind that I cannot get to the usual opening home screen, so can't get to settings or anything to do a reset. I hope someone can help me with this problem. If it has NEVER been jailbroke, here are some standard repair procedures:
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again. Also, read this.

My Apple TV is locked on a screen with iTune icon and USB cable and is not let me move to any other screen

I bought Apple TV 3rd generation a couple days ago. It was no problem in the first day.
I freshly installed iTunes on my computer and tried to learn about Home Share. Next day,it was locked this screen and I cannot move any other screen. The LED light on the front is glitting in fast. I've tried,
1. Holding 'Menu' and 'down' butten for reset.
2. Disconnecting power cable
3. Turning off the router
After that if I reconnect to TV, it shows same.
Please help me...

If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.
(You may already have a micro USB cable if you have a camera or other digital device)

Warping cursor to other screen in Awesome, when reaching screen edge

I'm using xfce with awesome as window manager. One of the most annoying "feature" in xfce is that desktop icons are always in the left screen. Because I'm using Awesome, I can't move icons manually to the right screen and because of xfdesktop's nature Awesome can't set it to spawn only to one screen or to set coordinates.
Setting right screen to left in config sets desktop icons to the correct screen but this has the obvious disadvantage. I started thinking is possible for Awesome to counter this behavior by controlling where cursor warps to the other screen. Like when cursor reached right screen's left edge, it would appear in left screen's right edge (and vice versa) and when it reached right screen's right edge, it would stay in that screen (and similarly in left screen).
what I managed to produce is following in Awesome's config (I can set correct values for all edges when basics work):

It manages to listen the mouse, but it doesn't however work anywhere near as intended. Only thing it does is change mouse cursor to ugly when starting awesome and to normal when cursor reaches left edge of the right screen. In the meanwhile mouse doesn't interact anymore with anything else.
What I'd want the script do is:
1.) warp when cursor to the set coordinates when it reaches the edge
2.) stay always on (now it exits when edge is reached)
3.) Awesome to work normally when mouse is listened
4.) Cursor to stay normal (this probably can be done by modifying the files)
how should the script be modified to achieve aforementioned?
Also if anyone has any other ideas about how to get xfce's desktop (not some dock widgets) to behave properly, I'd be glad to hear them.

After a lot of hassle and searching I found much simpler and better solution to my problem. In Xfce xfdesktop uses xfwm4 for moving icons. But for some other desktops, a file manager handles the whole thing and they work well under Awesome. I tried Nautilus and pcmanfm and I don't really have anything bad to say from the later one, it works quite perfectly under Awesome.

How do you reactivate the grey utilities scroll up tab at the bottom of the screen that should reveal wifi, bluetooth etc? Doesn't matter what orientation the ipad is in, it won't scroll up from the bottom. All other screen functions work normally.

Settings/Control Center. There are two options which are pretty self-explanitory...one enables/disables access on the Lock Screen and one enables/disables access within apps/games.

How to populate TableView data on the other screen TextField

I am having problem in populating data from a table in one screen to a Text Field in the other screen. I have two classes FirstClass containing a textbox and a button. On pressing a button a second window is opened containing a Table of values. [SOLVED] Preview other screens over LAN

I am looking for something that will allow me to preview others screens of Linux machines in my local network - just `read-only` preview of currently logged user. Can someone suggest me something ?

As a beginner, I need help figuring out how to build a simply VI that uses boolean logic to switch between three different screens. I need a "Home" screen, the next screen which has a button to go back "Home" and a third screen which has two buttons to go "Home" and "Previous Screen". Can someone help me with a simple block diagram?

Or put the data in three tab controls. The tabs itself are hidden. The
program switches between the tab sheet if one of the buttons is pressed.
The buttons are best not copied, e.g. the same buttons are used in every tab
sheet (buttons hover above the tab, a black shadow will apear). If the first
sheet is shown, button 2 and 3 are hidden, sheet two: only button 3 is
hidden, sheet three no button is hidden.
Showing the tabs allows the user to choose the views directlly. The button
logic is not needed anymore. But you'll have to live with a simple tab
sheet, instead of a fancy button system!

Going full screen takes other screen to black.

This new feature, in Yosemite, automatically takes my other screen to black, when I go to full screen on one screen. How do I turn this off?

Hello Lucio,
The issue you have reported is a known issue with Adobe Reader 7. These full screen issues have been fixed in Adobe Reader 8.1.2 (the current latest version) where the window manager decorations are not shown in full screen mode.
Adobe Reader 8.1.2 has a large number of new features and bug fixes so I would recommend that you upgrade to that. Refer http://blogs.adobe.com/acroread/2008/02/adobe_reader_812_for_linux_and.html for more details.

This has worked for some others.
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

II'm not sure what the problem is, but reset your iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appears on the screen. It takes about 10 seconds. See if that fixes it.

Options gestures requires 2 fingers, other screens okay

Hi,
when I open the option form the gestures is very awkward, requiring two fingers to do any button select, list scrolling, etc. This includes wifi setup form. Other screens work as expected with one finger gestures for scrolling and selecting apps etc. other apps seem to work fine. Is this by design? I am running OS Version 1.0.1.1710. About screen also requires two fingers to scroll down to number of documents etc. in landscape.
Have I missed an option somewhere?
