Other Than Technical queries on OBIEE

hi,
This forum discusses queries which are technical in nature hence the professionals who have experience in implementation would be able to answer easily
we have release 3 coming up for Oracle BI which will implement BI for sales, Marketing and Depots release 2 implemented Finance , SCM and Inventory
we do have the repository live in release 2 and one of the tasks is to understand any drawbacks or shortfalls in the Creation of the existing repository
( the functional anad technical requirements are satisfied for release 2)
Is there a way to test the repository to understand the gap in implemtation -requirement wise, build wise and usability wise
how do i understand from the current implemtation where my repository is failing to fulfill the needs
are there any checks which will help in comparing it with the best practices norms ??

I think you need to consider in gap analysis
1. Confirmed Dimensions
2. Time Hierarchy types, Products, Supplier hierarachies
3. Implementing Logic in Business layer - where clause, Inner Joins which would for a respective requirement
4. Datasources for the new modules - ODBC, OCI drivers
5. Session Variables, Repository Variables & Init blocks which are created should not affected by the new tables - Time Variable should same for all modules typically
6. Obiee Version you are using 10g/11g
7. Extending the current repository to include new modules instead of trying to create a new one and try to merge
8. Licensing of the OBIEE for the no.of users
9. Presentation layer customization - If you have set any style for a particular data type that will be extended for the new modules
