Other Touch recognised but daughters is not

My daughter's Touch pings when its pluged into the PC but is not recognised in iTunes. My other daughters Touch, which was bought at the same time is recognised and so is my old Classic. I have triied doing the following
1. Reinstall iTunes
2. Tried using different ports/cables to connect the iPod
3. Let the battery run out then recharge using an external electric charger
4. It is recognised when it is connected to my work laptop but I cannot bring this home for her to download/manage.
The Touch charges whilst connected to the PC, which is XP,
Other than the above her iPod is fully functional, she can connect to the internet, play music/vids etc. The only other problem she has is that the on/off button on the top of her iPod does not work and she is unable to switch off manually, although dont think this should be related?
Tried searching the net but not come accross a similar problem where other iPods are working on the same PC. Any help will be greatly apprieciated.

I'm having the same problems with the same JVC decks since upgrading to FCP 5.1.2 and I need to finish my projects. I got one of the decks to work finally, but during capture, after making new clips in the bin, FCP displays "searching for media" in capture window and not fully capturing the next clip and it does this with every clip. This was not a problem before I upgraded to FCP 5.1.2. Will someone please help!!!!!!

Are you saying that you took your phone apart and then put it back together again? If so, it would be very difficult to offer any advice since there is no way to determine what went wrong. An iPhone is not user serviceable. It should only be done by trained technicians.

Ipod touch charges but Macbook does not recognize

I have had my Ipod touch for about one year but have not hooked it up to the computer for awhile now. I went to sync it to itunes today and it would not do anything. I am using the latest version of Itunes, my firewire cable and port is working fine as the Ipod charges when it is hooked up. I really don't know what else to try. Any suggestions?

Yeah I was using the old firewire cable that came with my old 2nd generation Ipod. Unfortunately I lost the USB cable it came with, guess I'll have to buy a new one. Thanks for the help though.

My password is not recognised but I did not change it

Hello,
got new hard drive. When switch on first time it did request my password, was entered successfully.
After switched off and later on again, it did not ask for password at all. Then as I want to make some changes it asks for my password but when i type it it shakes but my password is correct.
Any idea what happened then and since I cannot even change my password (it does not recognise the "old"one)...what's next?
Am just afraid when I will switch off and if it ask again for password and since it does not recognise it that I wont be able to login in at some point.

First, make sure caps lock is not on.
Another reason why your password might not be recognized is that the keyboard layout (input source) has been switched without your realizing it. At the login screen, you can cycle through the available layouts by pressing the key combination command-space or command-option-space. See this support article.
You must back up all data before continuing, unless you've already done so. If you need to back up but can't log in, ask for instructions.
If the user account is associated with an Apple ID, and you know the Apple ID password, then maybe the Apple ID can be used to reset your user account password.
Otherwise*, boot into Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. In the Terminal window, type this:
res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window opens.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Follow the prompts to reset the password. It's safest to choose a password that includes only the characters a-z, A-Z, and 0-9.
Select

from the menu bar.
You should now be able to log in with the new password, but your Keychain will be reset (empty.) If you've forgotten the Keychain password (which is ordinarily the same as your login password), there's no way to recover it.

So now I want to start using my Gmail address Apple ID but I can't purchase any apps or even my old apps on my iPhone. How can I use and re-install apps through my Gmail address Apple ID on my iPhone? And is there a way to deactivate my Yahoo address Apple ID that I do not want to use anymore?

Apple does not transfer content bought with one Apple ID to another Apple ID. Apple will not merge two Apple IDs.
If most of your content was bought with the Yahoo! Apple ID but you now want the Gmail address for your Apple ID, the trick will be to change the address used for the Yahoo ID with the Gmail address. However, to do that you must first free the Gmail address from that other Apple ID. Use the instructions from Apple to substitute another address that is not used as an Apple ID for your Gmail address in the Apple ID with the Gmail address. Then, when the Gmail address is no longer used in an Apple ID, you can use the same instructions to substitute the Gmail address for the Yahoo address in the Apple ID with the Yahoo address.

Try disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall.
- Next try the manual install method of:

Place the iPod in recovery mode after the firmware download is complete and then restore using the instructions in the article. Sometimes recovery mode timeouts and returns to disabled before the firmware download is complete.
- Then try on another computer

It never downloaded?
If it is on your computer, then sync it to your ipad.
If it never downloaded, then Open the itunes store on your computer and click Store>Check for Available Downloads

It sounds like you have a fingerprint setup with Touch ID but it is not unlocking the iPhone or is able to be used for iTunes purchases.
Those are settings that can individually be enabled or disabled.
(Note you won't have Apple Pay on an iPhone 5s.)
For further troubleshooting, please see the article that came from:

Get help with Touch ID
Make sure that you're using the latest version of iOS.
Make sure that your fingers and the Home button are clean and dry.*
Cover the Home button completely. Don't tap too quickly, don't press down hard, and don't move your finger while Touch ID is scanning. Make sure that your finger touches the metal ring around the Home button.
If you're using a case or screen protector, make sure it doesn't cover the Home button or the surrounding ring. If it does, remove the case or screen protector and try again.
Tap Settings > Touch ID & Passcode and make sure that iPhone Unlock or iTunes & App Store is on. Also make sure that you've enrolled one or more fingerprints.
Try enrolling a different finger.
If you can't enroll any of your fingers, take your device to an Apple Retail Store, Apple Authorized Service Provider, or contact AppleCare for help.

You can't. Access to your Apple ID gives them access to all of your iCloud account, not just part of it.
