Hi Dan,
You really do not need to create a policy but rather you need application definition. Here are the steps.
Creating an Application Definition
The first step in creating an application policy is to set up an application definition that identifies general information about the application, such as the application name and whether you want the WAAS Central Manager to collect statistics about the application. After creating the application definition, you assign it to a device or device group. You can create up to 255 application definitions on your WAAS system.

One the application definition is created for the traffic you want to identify, it will start displaying statistics under the application definition name.

We have used the 2 Apple TVs and the 5 different IPads successfully on both Apple TVs. It sounds like your other iPads work correctly when Airplaying to your Apple TV, but one disconnects about ever 10 mintues or so. I have a few thoughts for this issue you are seeing. First, try closing all the apps:

Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the phone and test it again:

Since i have upgraded to ios6 , internet stops working after a minute max , i have tried everything , my other ipad works fine on the same internet , and so does my iphone they are on previous software , please help me

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app

    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

It looks as though the Mac has a global warranty. Take a look at Applecare Protection Plan for Mac or Apple Display for full details.
It likely depends on the availability of Apple stores or authorised repair agencies in the country you will be in.

Does the optimizer degrade significantly the performance while running ?

I'm actually managing load tests on an application.
I do a preliminary warm test of arround 30 mn, then I run a load test of about 3/4 hour.
I've run JRA with the evaluation key close to the 1 hour expiry, and I observe that the optimizer is still working intensively (it works arround 5 mn for a 5mn record !).
I observed too that the bmore I run the load test without restarting the serveur, the greater is the performance (better response time with fewer CPU consumption).
I suppose it may a positive effect of the optimization performed by Jrockit, isn't it ?
Is it normal that the optimizer takes so much time to converge ?
Will the optimizer decrease and even stop after a while ?
While the optimizer works - doing many optimizations all the time ( ~5mn optimizing during a 5 mn JRA record), is the performance significantly affected ?

The optimizer is constantly watching the application and optimizing frequently used methods. On a large application it can take some time for it to find and optimize the required methods. One way to see the actions of the optimizer is to run with -Xverbose:opt which will print each method as it is optimized. The optimizer does take some CPU time to do it's work, but you will get that back since the methods are quicker.

I don't recall PowerShell V3 introducing anything new to handle local users and groups. You need to use PowerShell V1 methods, using the [ADSI] accelerator and the WinNT: provider. The scripts linked above show this. No need to use WMI (which would probably
be slower).

Yes! I have done everything. Rebooted computer, checked for updates, Hard booted iPad, Factory restored iPad to ios 5 twice, tried every usb port I have, unplugged all other usb components.

I manually snyc'ed that particular app and then re-ran the restore and am now the proud owner of a working iphone. Not sure it is the same problem or app but looking in the console was the key!

Each of you need to have your own apple id's instead of sharing is the best way. But you can go to each phones settings, messages, send and recieve, and down to start new conversation from, and make sure each of you have your own email address with a check mark beside of it not the same address.

I had just got my ipod back the newest generation and i disabled it because i haven't had it in awhile. I also do not have the primary computer i synced it on so now i cant get on at all. I don't have much money to go to the professionals. What to do?

When MAPI acceleration (exchange/outlook) is Active in our WAAS environment, the remote site users randomly lose connection to the Exchange server (on hub site), if I disable the MAPI acceleration everything works ok. so right now we are running with MAPI accelearation Disabled
I can see that we often get max_conn_reject The TFO accelerator is overloaded (connection limit), we haven't done any adjustments to the default configuration.
The environment is one Hubsite with two remote sites.

I had a feeling that you might have alot of computer remotely.
One of the main factors in sizing a WAAS soluiton is to keep in mind the number of TCP connections that a single WAE can optimize.
We limit the device on optimized TCP connections.After you hit the limit the device will go into the overload state that you mentioned.
274 - 200 connections
474 - 400 connections.
Typically from a sizing a single workstation would be sized from 7-10 TCP connections.
The 2nd factor in sizing is bandwidth - WAAS doesn't limit bandwidth but this is recommended for the CPU throughput.

474 - 4 Megs
The 3rd factor is redundancy,. HA, etc.

I am facing an issue with waas reporting, in the charts i have OTHER TRAFFIC with a high percentage (50% and sometimes more)
What can i do to know which traffic is being categorized as OTHER TRAFFIC so i could create new policy for it

Click on manage device and go to connections.
There you will see connections and level of optimization being applied. It will display ip source and destination as well as tcp port number. Once you have the port create a new application and classifier policy

Java3d speed collapse caused by other java apps running at the same time

I am programming a flightsimulator for some months.

My Problem:
When I start the sim while two other java programs
( one is a server running localhost, one is a client )
are running, the speed of the flightsim is very slow,
one frame update takes 3 to 5 seconds.
( 3 java.exe's in task list plus 1 which is the IDE )
When I start the flightsim ALONE, I have 30 to 40 frames per second.
( 2 java.exe's in the task list = the flightsim and the IDE -> no prob here )
That means, the flightsim is about 100 times slower, when
started while the other two apps are running.
BUT the other two applications do almost ***NOTHING***, the
CPU load is 1 or 2 percent.
Of course they have threads running, but all are waiting
for a signal - no thread really consumes CPU power.
Interestingly, when I FIRST start the flightsim and AFTER THIS
start the two other applications, the flightsim
holds 30 frames per seconds without problems, even
though the other applications consume some CPU power
until they have completely started up.
Configurations:
JSDK 1.4.2_1 , 0_2..
Java3D 1.3.1 OPENGL (The DirectX version crashes with D3D device lost)

In my point of view, the java3d thread scheduler makes
some funny decisions when it starts up, which lead
to the order dependent behaviour described above.
My question is, if anyone has some ideas, how I could
get away from this speed collapse.
The problem is caused in native code I guess.
I also could imagine, that it has to do something with
the order in which one creates, attaches and starts
the Canvas3D. (? could produce race conditions)
The flightsim runs in full retained mode. Of course
the CPU work in the behaviours is rather big, because
the ROAM triangulation update (..) is done there
and the triangles are recalculated and passed
( all BY_REFERENCE ).
Or could it have to do something with the memory
consumption ( when all runs, almost all of
the 512MB RAM is taken by the three java.exe's ) ?
Any hints or ideas ?

I just have tested it on my computer at work
( 3GHz HP compaq, 1GB Ram and a Intel 82865G Graphics
Card with 64MB memory, Windows XP )
and it has worked without problems any way I tried.
( Except for xclusive fullscreen mode, but I guess, the administrators
have deactivated it somehow, so we don't play games at work :)
I couldn't test it under Linux so far, but I think, this will be less
problematic than Windows [usually].
However my current assumption is:
I totally have forgot the [limited] videocard memory.
I suppose, Java3D tries to put all triangle data and all
textures to the videocards memory, so most data processing
then can be passed to it's graphiccard CPU using
OpenGL commands.
Now the flightsim produces a varying amount of (by_reference) triangle data ( a few thousands )
and has some texture maps for the terrain, the sea and other things,
plus indexed triangle data for the planes and ships.
The notebook system, which slows down has an ATI Mobile Radeon card
with only 32MB RAM onboard, whereas the others have 64MB Ram.
An additional pointer to that theory is that I can trigger the slowdown by resizing
the flightsim window, while it is running.
On the notebook, it holds 30fps, until the window exceeds a size of 962*862 pixels.
At this size the speed collapses and goes down to 1 frame update every 4 seconds.
If I make the window a few pixels smaller, the speed of 30fps immediately
is there again.
Therefore I guess, some data passed to the graphic cards memory depends
linearly from the canvas3d's window dimension, and at some limit,
the graphiccard's memory is too small and Java3D changes it's strategy
and performs most calculations on the computer's mainmemory,
which of course is a lot slower.
I'm not very sure about that, I'm just speculating.
Next thing I will try is to disable directdraw for the other two applications,
possibly swing also uses graphicscard memory, when directdraw is enabled.
The solution seems to be clear anyway: The flightsim must examine the system
and set some parameters depending on the machine's capabilities.
Onboard videagraphic ram is one of them. If it's too slow, I start to decrease
the window size and expect to see a sudden increase of speed, as soon as
the rendering can be done by the graphicscard CPU. If this never happens,
I assume no OpenGL accelerator is present on that system. This can be seen as a method
for finding out the amount of videocard memory on a system by trial and error ..?:)

How do I disable the hardware acceleration in Flash player on a Windows XP machine remotely?
I have a few hundred computers running Adobe Flash Player.
The operation system is Windows XP.
They are Compaq 6005 desktop PC’s, with an inbuilt ATI radeon HD 4200 video card.
We have a persistent issue where viewing a flash video (e.g. something on youtube) causes the video card driver to crash. You are left with no video signal to the monitor. Audio continues and the computer still responds to commands. This only happens when watching flash video.
We have tried:
Updating flash plugin (numerous versions)
Updating the video card drivers (we have tried the last three video card driver versions, including the HP drivers and ATI drivers)
Updating the browsers (this problem happens with IE8/9 and Firefox10/11/12)
There seems to be two ways to work round this issue. One is to disable the video acceleration in the ‘troubleshoot’ section in the advanced part of the display settings area in windows. The other way is to start a flash video, right click, go to ‘settings’ and untick the box marked ‘Enable Hardware Acceleration’.
Doing either of these things allows the user to view flash videos with no apparent issues.
Is there a way to disable the hardware acceleration in Flash without visiting the PC? Perhaps an undocumented option in the mms.cfg file? I understand that you can use an option to skip the video card check, and so force hardware acceleration on, can you do the opposite?

Is it possible to force 16/32-bit stack alignment without using the optimizer?

The compiler emits code targeted at the classic Pentium architecture for the -m32 memory model. I'm running into problems mixing Sun Studio compiled code with code built with other compilers because the other compiler builds under the assumption that the stack is 16-byte aligned.
The only way I've found to force Sun Studio to comply with that restriction is with -xarch={sse2a,sse3,...}, but this causes the code to pass through the optimizer. As noted in the documentation, if you want to avoid optimizations you must remove all flags that imply optimizations -- that is to say, there's no way to disable optimizations once enabled. This should not, however, be treated as an optimization because it's an ABI requirement.
I've scoured the documentation, spent many hours googling, digging through forums, and asking questions.
The best I've come up with is the -xarch option which is sub-optimal because it has side effects. I tried -xchip=pentium4 (this is what my other compilers have set as their default target), but the generated code doesn't force 16-byte stack alignment.
Is there a way to force the compiler to emit code conforming to a different ABI without using the optimizer?

I hope you won't mind my asking: do you have a way to prove that it's not possible to force 16-byte alignment without using the optimizer? I ask because your username / profile don't give the impression you work for Oracle, so while I think you're probably right it's at least possible that we're both mistaken. I haven't been able to find any documentation on either stack alignment or altering the targeted ABI short of using the -xarch flag, and even there the details are fairly sketchy.
