Other users get application errors.

I am having an odd problem with my mac.
I have an admin account which I installed all of my programs (in the applications folder) and I can use them just fine.
But when I switch to a different user on that computer most of the applications ask me to enter in the serial key (they were registered from the admin computer) I have all my keys so its not a huge deal but do I really have to re enter all of my serial keys again for different users?
I should also note that I tried turning the other users into admins and they still get asked for a serial.

This probably depends on where each individual software program records the serial number after you've entered it. Theoretically a well written program would record the serial number in a "global" location so that when other users ran the program from their accounts the program could find it.
However, it sounds like the programs you're dealing with may record the serial number somewhere in the user's home folder. So, when you run the program as user "A" and enter the serial number it gets recorded in user "A's" home folder. Then when you run the program as user "B" it looks for the serial number in user "B's" home folder, can't find it and asks for it again. In this case it really doesn't matter whether the users are admins or not.
There may be a valid reason for your programs to do it this way, or it could just be slightly sloppy programming.
User specific preferences ought to go in their home directories, so each user can have their own separate prefs. But I would think a serial number or registration key should normally go into a global location. You'll probably just have to register the programs for each user (or you could try contacting the software vendors to see if there's a way around this).

How to get Application Error descriptions

Hi, all:
Our interface has ECC system involved.
The Message Monitoring in local integration engine shows that there are many messages with application errors.
I would like to export all messages with application error:
include message ID and error text.
Right now, I can export the data from Message monitoring window, but I can not get application error from exported spreadsheet. anyone has idea how to do it ?

Technically, the scenario is running perfect.
After go-alive, there are many application errors because of the data problem, e.g.:
Cannot create order. Service order number already exist
We know these problem are caused by conversion, now I would like to track each message, so I exported to spreadsheet from Message monitoring.
But the exported spreadsheet does not include Application Error text, this is the reason I post the question here, do you have idea about it ?

Keep getting Application Error

Keep getting "Application Error 523 Reset" on home screen. Need help please!

Try resetting the device by removing the battery for 1 minute then replacing it. See if it reboots.
Usually with a 523 error you'll need to reload the OS on your device.

User Tracking - Application error: URN_NOT_FOUND

running ciscoworks 3.2 on Windows 2008 SP2 - installed apps are:
1. Campus Manager 5.2.1

When I run a quick report in Campus Manager (User Tracking > Reports) I get the following error appearing in a window:
Application error: URN_NOT_FOUND : urn "ogs_server_urn" : Not found !!.
Acquisition is working fine – on completion it states how many new hosts have been discovered but I get the above error when I try running a report.
Reloaded server but problem persists. I’ve attached the output of pdshow and the cmapps log - any advice/guidance appreciated.

When I run a quick report in Campus Manager (User Tracking > Reports) I get the following error appearing in a window:

From which directory did you get this ctm_config.txt? I need to see the ones under NMSROOT/MDC/tomcat/webapps/campus/WEB-INF/lib and NMSROOT/MDC/tomcat/webapps/cmapps/WEB-INF/lib.
Since this is LMS 2.6, I also need to see the output of the pdshow command.

Users getting 1460 errors

Some of my users are getting sporadic connectivity to our Border Manager
VPN server. When they cannot connect, the log shows a 1460 error. The
error states the following:
User name miscellaneous error (-1460)
User is rejected
User name miscellaneous error (-1460)
User is accepted
User name miscellaneous error (-1460)
User Access is rejected
Any ideas on how to troubleshoot it as the problem is sporadic?

User profile application errors

I am having some problems with my user profile. I have tried repairing the disk and disk permissions from the 10.6 DVD, but still continue to have issues. My user account has random errors when trying to user certain applications. For example Onyx gives me constant errors and won't let me do anything and Boxee crashes before it will even open. If I create a new user both of these applications work fine. This computer was upgraded from 10.5 to 10.6. Is there anything I can check/do aside from rebuild my profile? I can Time Machine everything and rebuild a new profile manually from that, but would prefer to fix this one if possible. Any ideas?

No profiles here (that's a windoze thingy), they're accounts on a Mac. What issues using Disk Utility from the DVD? BTW, permission repair should be done from the boot volume, not install disc. What kind of Onyx errors? Why are you using it? If apps work in one account and not another, that usually indicates a conflict or corruption, usually amongst or in preference (plist) files. You don't rebuild accounts in OS X, you fix problems. More details and maybe we can offer some advice.

Using TextField.C_ANY and get application error

Hey all !
I'm working with com.jmobilecore in my projrct. My platform is Nokia S40 DP 2.0 SDK 1.0 and IDE is Netbeans.
I'm using C_ANY as TextField constraint.But while I press as many key at a time as input it shows application error and then exit from the application.
I'm using emulator for testing.

When opening my Itunes i get "Application Error - The instruction at "0x00000000" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "written" - i have tried to reinstall..

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

Wireless users getting ACL errors when no ACL is in place

We have around a hundred users, many using Powerbooks and MacBook Pros via a third-party wireless. Recently, a few users are reporting errors when connecting saying that they are not on the Access Control List, but we don't use one. I think these users may have updated to the Airport Extreme Update 2007-001, but that is the only possibly similarity I can find. Any ideas?

Does other user get notified if text plan is added?

I’m the account owner. Currently we don’t have a text plan, but the other user on our account keeps sending and receiving texts anyway. At this point, it would be cheaper for me to add the $5/mo text plan to her phone than to continue without a text plan.
If I add a text plan to her account, will she get any kind of notification (email and/or text) telling her of the change? I’d rather she not know about it because I don’t want her to go crazy with it and rack up even more charges.

Thanks for your feedback. I eventually called Customer Service and was advised that if I added a text plan to the other user's account, she wouldn't get notified of the change by email or text -- BUT, as you mentioned, she would be able to see the text plan on her MyVerizon account.
In this particular case, parental controls aren't really an option (long story) but I have decided to add the text plan to her line anyway. If she sees it, she sees it -- time will tell.

When one acco has iTunes open, the other users get error message

I have Vista Ultimate, 64 bit. My computer has three user accounts. If one user has iTunes open, then, when another user logs on, he gets window after window of "You can't start iTunes because someone else has it open", even though he's not trying to start iTunes!
The only solution is to log off the first user which is not always desirable if that user is not around. This is happening awhile now. Is there no fix yet???

I have the same problem described; let me add some information.
1) I am set up as the "Owner" in Win7. My wife is set up as 2nd account. If I have iTunes open and my wife opens her account nothing happens. However, if my wife has iTunes open and I open my account, Windows gives me that annoying message saying that another user has iTunes open...every 30 seconds.

Most interesting thing I learned from this is that this error is found on multiple Windows platforms, but everyone is using an HP computer.

Some users get forbidden error when trying to connect to remote panel

I have an application that is running LV 8.2.1 and using DSC. The application can be viewed and controlled through a remote panel. The issue is that certain people cannot access the webpage, even though I have not restricted it.
I have traced it down to one subnet in our factory that cannot view the panel (the panel can only be viewed internally to the company). I can set up anyone else in the building on different subnets, and they can view it perfectly, but this one subnet cannot get access. My IT department says that there is no special firewall or security settings on any of the subnets, and that they are all the same, just have the subnets set up to better know what part of the building the user is in (ie subnet 27 is purchasing, 28 is engineering, etc).
I have tried rebooting the computer, unplugging the ethernet cable and replugging it back in while restarting (NI said that should clear any blocked ip address from the remote server).
Has anyone else had a similar issue??

This is an interesting problem. Could you try running a different VI on the malfunctioning subnet just to make sure that there isn't something odd in your code that is causing this? I would be interested to know if you can get anything at all to function on that particular subnet. Also, are you guys using Windows XP across the board?
