OTL and AME for complicated approvals

Hi,
Is it possible to use AME along with AME . Our requirement is time card should go for min 2 approval employee supervisor and manager if supervisor is not at senior position in that case one more approval is required .
Secondly i employee working hours are more than 40 hours in that case chairman or concerned Senior Manager Approval is required we are able to send time card to supervisor and manager but when ever other two cases arises specially more than 40 hours time card should go for senior manager approval.
I didn't use OTL before if it is possible using fast formula or any other mean kindly guide us.

TOP_POSITION_ID in AME for SSHR approvals

Dear Members
I am implementing AME for SSHR approvals and facing a prloblem in approvals.
Current setup have more than 1 position hierarchies and one position may be in 3/4 hierarchy being used for different purposes.
I am using the following query in TOP_POSITION_ID attribute to find the top position id:

but while sending transactions in SSHR for approval, it is not send to the right way and are being sent to wrong persons.
what can be the reason and solution.

Which approval group are you using. Are those custom approval groups or you are using seeded supervisor hierarchy approval groups

Archival and Purge for Workflow Approvals

I am looking for a way to archive at least 10 years worth of Workflow Approvals for Oracle R12 EBS Financials environment. I cannot find any good notes on My Oracle Support or whitepapers other than a basic paper on general archival and purge programs for Oracle R12 EBS. Any tips on how to setup an archival process for Oracle R12 EBS Workflow approvals would be appreciated.

Can I create a custom location for Premiere and AME presets?

Our institution has volatile user accounts meaning that all user specific preferences, presets and files are deleted on log off.
However I would like to make some custom Premiere sequence presets and AME export presets available to all users by default.
Can anyone suggest a way to store these presets in a non-user specific location and still have Premiere and AME locate them?
Alternatively if anyone can suggest a way of packaging up these presets and copying them into the appropriate user locations on logon that would also be of interest!?
Any suggestions appreciated (some further details and system spec below)...

Common presets folder for PPro and AME?

This has been driving me a little bonkers: when you create an encoding preset in the PPro export module (before AME launches), that preset is not available as an applicable preset from the AME interface. The opposite is also true: design a preset in AME, and it doesn't show up in the PPro export module.
I'm aware that you can import one program's encoding presets into another (.EPR files), but this seems a bit clunky. Is anyone aware of a way to use a common folder to share presets between these two apps? Or am I doomed to a lifetime of aimless preset importing (dramatic soap opera music sweep added for effect)?

"PPro export module" is a "for lack of a better term" description of what you see when you execute File > Export > Media from the PPro interface. It's what launches before the sequence is sent to AME for encoding, and where you set up your encodes parameters or apply a preset. It's these presets that are confounding me, in that ones I create in this interface are not directly available in the AME interface. Seems a little silly, since both modules/interfaces/whatever create preset files with an .EPR extension that can be imported into the other, but are otherwise not directly accessible. I create dozens of different export presets, so for housekeeping purposes and preservation of sanity purposes, it would be nice/awesome/logical to have a common repository for these shared presets. Hardly anything to get all in a bunch about, but it's one of those enhancements that would make life a little easier.
That all said, I think I might have found the solution, but I didn't discover it until late on Friday, so I'm waiting until tomorrow to fully kick its tires. I'll post back if it works, as I suspect a limited subset of other users might find this helpful, as well.

To Access AME for iProcurement, does the user needs to be set up as a buyer ?

We are switching on the Approval Management Engine (AME) for iProcurement and Purchasing.
we are about to assign the AME responsibilities “Approvals Management Administrator” and “Approvals Management Business Analyst” to a user , USER123
Does USER123 need to be set up as a buyer to create AME rules ?

AME rules for iProcurement are defined for requester. So to test the AME rule itself, you need not be a buyer.
Besides, configuration responsibility can be granted to any employee (From IT department) who may not be a buyer in the role.
So the answer is "Not required"

Account Generator, and AME

Hi,
2 questions-
1.Is it possible to use more than one account generator process for a particular accounting flexfield structure? I have attached the process 'Generate Default Accounts' to the item type 'PO Requisition Account Generator', however is there any other way to use a different process?
2.Is it possible to use AME in a few cases, and the Approval workflow for the other cases in the Requisition approval process, based on the Requisition document set up? If yes, how?

AME & AP Invoice approvals

Our customer needs to use AME with parallel approvals and with the voting paradigm ( First Responder Wins ) for AP Invoice Approval. We are on Release 12.1.1 . Is this feature currently supported and if not is there a timeline for this feature to be made available for AP Invoice Approval.

AME for Custom Workflow

I have created a custom workflow and I want to implement approvals as well in that workflow. I want to use AME for that because AME will give following functionalities
1. Return for Correction
2. Update Action
3. Adding ad-hoc approvers
Is there any document that refer to workflow and AME integration ?
Do all above functions (1,2,3) will automatically exist in AME or I have to implement those functions

I will try to answer based on my experience of working with iProcurement and AME. It depends on how you want to make a call to AME , directly from OAF Page or from Workflow and your requirement. You didn't specify what you want to show the users on OAF Page and your business requirement.
Before calling AME Engine from the OAF page or workflow, I guess you did already setup AME Transaction Type and it's Approval Groups, Conditions, Action Types and Rules. Do some testing from AME Business Analyst Test Workbench. Please note that, AME provides lot of PL/SQL API's that you have to call from your programs (java or workflow pl/sql)
Let's look at the workflow and putting an OAF Page as notification.
As Sameer said, you have kick-off workflow process from PR of CO and with in the workflow function, you make a call to AME Engine API's with the AME Transaction ID. This transactionId belongs to the AME Transsaction Type that you setup. Based on the rules setup, AME Engine generates list of approvers/approver and stores them AME Tables for that transactionId. Then, it sends a notification to the approver.
In the workflow, where that notification is defined, in the message body you have to put an attribute(&XX_WF_FWK_RN) of type document/send. And this attribute will have the constant JSP:/OA_HTML/OA.jsp?OAFunc=XX_FUNC&paramId=-&DOCUMENT_ID-. This function is SSWA Jsp function that makes a web html call to your OAF Region.
If your requirement is to just show the list of approvers on the OAF Page, you may have to call AME API diectly passing your AME TrasnactionId with other parameters. Then AME generates list of approvers and stores them in AME tables with each approver status. You can pickup those approvers using VO and show them on OAF Page.
Hope this gives some idea.

HELP!! Black screen on my MacBook Pro after leaving open and on for over 8 hours.

Hi everyone,
This is the first time I'm using the discussion board as I haven't had any problems with my MacBook Pro since I bought it in November 2010. However, yesterday, I left my laptop on and open for over 8 hours without realising. When I came back to my laptop it had a black screen that just wouldn't go away. I pressed all the buttons on my keypad to wake it up but this didn't work. The caps lock key lights up when pressed and the volume button makes the clicky noise when turned up and down but the screen is still black. I have tried turning the laptop on/off using the power button several times. When it starts up it makes the usual sounds and I can hear that it is on but the screen is still black.
I do not use my laptop for anything complicated. I really only use it to browse the web. I hope someone can help me. I have tried to make an appointment with the Genius Bar but there are no available appointments at my local one. I'm not a mac expert and don't understand technical words so please speak in layman terms otherwise I won't understand. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks

If you're having frequent kernel panics with your 15" mid-2010, or intermittent screen problems, the problem is, more than likely, the faulty NVIDIA GPU found in a number of those machines.

Here's the "official" Apple take on the issue - but the very real kernel panics need not be preceded by 'Intermittent black screen or loss of video'... in fact, you might not experience any video problems at all. Although video problems can certainly be a portent of things to come…
So what can you do? Print out a copy of your kernel panic and a copy of the Knowledge Base article and take them, along with your machine, to your local Apple Store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider. They should be more than willing to install a new logic board at no cost. I have no idea why this faulty GPU is making the headline here on the MacBook Pro forum so often now - could it be because Mountain Lion is just bringing the issue to a head more readily? I don't know - I only know that we're seeing more and more of these kernel panics of late.

Premiere (and AME) will not export 23.98 DV NTSC properly

Half an hour of frustrated internet and message board searching have brought me no closer to a solution. I'd be grateful for someone's help. I can't be the first person to have encountered this problem, but no one else seems to be talking about it.
I have HD footage that was shot at 23.976. I've edited it in a 23.976 timeline, and when I export to Quicktime in its native codec (which is Cineform) or any other codec, at 23.976, I get a 23.976 file. No problem.
But when I try to export DV/NTSC 24p, it SAYS it's going to export at 23.976, but then when I open up the resulting file, it's at 29.97 and there are extra interpolated frames added. Same thing happens if I try to convert it after the fact with AME from a 23.976 HD export.
It's driving me apeshit. I need a true 24p DV-NTSC quicktime for the sound mix, and I'm at a total loss for how to create one, short of switching (back) to FCP.
So what gives?

I'm on an iMac 21" running Premiere and AME CS6, thought I've tried it also in CC and get the same result.

I'm not trying to be difficult or contrary. Honestly, I'm not. And I'm not "unwilling to take the input from the other posters". But so far none of the other posters have actually answered my question, and one of them got snippy with me when I pointed out why his solution was not valid for my particular problem.
People have suggested various reasons why it can't be done, but I know it can be done because I've done it. And I've posted the evidence. The Quicktime in the picture above plays fine out of the firewire DV port. It imports properly into Pro Tools at the proper frame rate, while maintaining the proper timecode. This particular example doesn't have timecode burned into the video, but on ones that do, a pulldown to 29.97 means that I no longer get frame-accurate timecode on the video. It also means that the sync pops can drift half a frame because they are now in 29.97instead of 23.976. It means that I can't import the video into a Pro Tools project that already has a 23.98 video in it, since Pro Tools won't let you mix frame rates. It also means that I can't do my sound editing with frame-accurate video, which is unacceptable. So this is not a solution to my problem.
Others have suggested that I just use a different codec. That's not a solution to my problem either, since I need it to be DV/DVCPRO. I didn't invent Pro Tools and I have no control over what formats it will accept for firewire output. So that's also not a solution to the problem.
To everyone who has answered so far, thank you for your input. I appreciate it. I'd be really grateful if anyone could chime in with an answer to my original question: How do I create a standard definition DVCPRO 24p Quicktime in Adobe? Maybe the answer is that "Adobe doesn't have this functionality". But that's a different answer than "It can't be done, period."

AME for Purchase Requisitions

I am in the process of setting up AME in R12.1.2 for purchase requisitions and got struck with an issue
My requirement is to route the requisition to a particular job based on the item category and the requisition total. I setup conditions, action types and approval groups and then the rule.
When I used static in my Approval Group setup it works fine with out issues however we do not want to use static as employees keep changing and want my approval driven out of the job hence updated the approval group to use Dynamic usage type and used the below query to pick the name of the employee based on the job.

paaf.person_id = papf.person_id
and sysdate between paaf.effective_start_date and paaf.effective_end_date
and paaf.job_id = pej.job_id

Now when trying to create a requisition it shows up a message that "Approval List could not be generated. Please contact your System Administrator to review AME rules setup."
When validated the above query it says query is valid but still not working. I even tried with person_id but still no luck
