OTL Week End time Entry

Hi
In the Time card if the employee enters the time on saturday or sunday is it possible to provide a waring message
I am not sure about the time entry rules if any one could provide some metalink notes or some document that would help me a lot

Instead of forcing the user not to make an entry we are allowing a Weekly Off element, so that even those entries can be captured for future purpose eg: Claim of allowance for working on a week off day. Hence we are not forcing the user to not enter any time.If you consider the issue here, we are just concerned to show a warning on weekend hours entry. There is no requirement of capturing some different element or attribute.
I need a clarification, are you talking about the TimeCard web page, then we have tried personlization on it for display purpose, but hiding columns and changing titles..etcLet me know if you are not using the web based Time card and instead using the forms based card.
I'm talking about the web based Timecard only. On web based timecard, even to hide a column, you need to make changes to timecard layout LDT file and upload to DB using FNDLOAD. Changing a column header will require changes in the AK attributes. Nothing can be personalized inside the Timecard matrix.

OTL Self Service Time Card to OTL Timekeeper

Hi All,
I'm new to the Oracle HRMS module and have a question. Can you update OTL Timekeeper with time cards from OTL Self Service? I did read a very brief, one or two line sentence in one of the implementation manuals that said you could. However, at this point, I have researched in vein and still cannot find any information as to how or what should be done.

Sure.
We would like to take the employee time cards being entered into the (OTL Self Service Time Entry) and once approved, have them automatically populate the OTL Timekeeper by employee. These employees are already defined in various Timekeeper groups. Once the supervisor opens up that group in Timekeeper they will be able to export those employee time records to an excel spreadsheet for further data manipulation. That's our end goal.
The question I have is, how does the upload from (OTL Self Service Time Entry to OTL Timekeeper) happen?
Does it happen once the employee time card has been approved?
or
Do you have to launch some type of concurrent job, etc?
I just can't find that process answer and what if anything that needs to be done.

Auto populate system time for start/end times in OTL Time card

Hi,
Is there an option of defaulting the time-card entry/exit times to system-time.
Say on the time-card a press of a button will default the start-time and end-time(and have these as read-only).
Is this possible in OTL with any preferences ?
The client wants to do-away with the time-clocks all together. If such a feature is available in OTL.

You can't add logic in layouts to auto populate the time based on clock. You will have to depend on a custom process to do it.
Also least time period of entry is day, not week. Look at the preferences setup of your test employee.

ESS Working Time - Start Time and End Time in Weekly View

Hello,
I'm having a problem with the business package ESS - functionality Working Time (cat2).
I need that information to Start Time and End Time appear in the Weekly View of the portal.
In Daily View that information are already visible, but In Weekly View that information does not appear.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi Bala
You can have clock in and clock out in a weekly view.
you have to change the data entry profile settings.
In general settings tab in data entry profile click the with clock times button and maintain the Period type to 02 in time settings tab.
And you can view the weekly entry in clock in and clock out.

Time Entry by Percentage in OTL

We have a requirement to enter time in OTL by percentage of time worked rather than by exact hours. This means rather than entering 20 hours of project1 and 20 hours on project2 (for a work-week of 40 hours), users would like to enter 50% on project1 and 50% on project2.
Is there a functionality in OTL like this? We are on 11.5.9 of E-business suite.

This may require a more complex answer. But, initially, here are my ideas on simple solutions.
OTL is designed to record HOURS. But, as long as all your downstream processes can cope with it, all you really need to do is capture a NUMBER. So a % figure could be used.
You will need to have some Time Entry Rules to ensure that a total figure of not more than 100% is recorded per day.
If you are using Payroll, then at some stage the amount recorded needs to be converted to hours for payment. If you do not want to use the % figure for payments, then record the elements as 'Information'.
Or, you could keep the HOURS as hours and add a new timecard component for the % figure. You would then have to map this using MAPPING COMPONENTS and MAPPINGS to a CONTEXT in the OTL_INFORMATION_TYPES DFF.

Is it possible to access the start,end times of a particular day in a custom OTL Fast-Formula ?
Can someone point me to any links for writing custom Fast-formula.

Start time/end time columns in the weekly overview of CATS regular

Hello,
Does anyone know if it is possible to have the start and end time columns in parallel of the duration column in CATS regular (iView "record working times" in ESS) in the weekly view. Those columns are available in the daily view but we want them in the weekly view. This is possible on the backend but the question remains for the ESS.

How to show end time in week view?

I would like to know how I can get ical, to show the end time of an event? I really want this to show up in the week view.

When I'm trying to see how many hours I'm working in a week, the easiest way is to see that, okay, Monday is 9-5, Tuesday is 9-4, Wednesday is 8:30-4:30, and so on. Those numbers are easy to calculate and add.
Plus, in month view, I can't tell what kind of gaps there will be in my days, and my down time is extremely important to me!

Display ending time in week view?

Is there any way to show the ending time for each event in week view (or anywhere?) i.e. 16:30-19:30 instead of just 16:30? I want to be able to see at a glance when my different shifts end, and at the moment I have to ad the ending time to the event title to be able to see it.

Hiding custom column in Weekly view of the Time Entry in ESS

We have added a custom field to time entry (CAT2). This field is displaying in both (weekly and daily) view of the time entry screen in ESS. Our requirement is too display the field only in daily view.
Is there a way to hide the custom column in the weekly view of the time sheet in ESS?

well it would require modification to the iview , it wont be a easy quickfix cause you lauch the iview it is built using CAC2 field customisation
you can explore Personalisation for the daily view hope it can work!

XmlBeans, at least the version I'm working with now, doesn't support version 3 of the Document Object Model (DOM). I don't know what operations were introduced in DOM 3, but I guess you're trying to use one of them. What worked for me is to copy the Document into a DocumentBuilder that does support DOM 3, such as the JDK's own builder, and work with the copy. OTL Custom Formula not visible in Time Entry Rule window

I have created a custom Fast Formula of type 'OTL Time Entry Rules'. Created a context with segments for the OTL Formulas Flex Field with formula name same as of the context. But the formula is not visible in the in the time entry rule window.
Can any one please suggest what is the reason for this?

Hi,
Check whether you have given the description for your custom Fast formula while defining the FF in the Write Formula screen.
Coz, In the Time Entry rules window you will see the description of the fast formula .
Though the description iss not a mandatory field while defining the FF in the Write Formula screen the time entry rule will take only the description of the FF instead of the FF Name.

Start and End Time in Record Working Time- Weekly View

In record working time we have 2 views, daily and weekly. In daily view, we have start time and end time, which we do not have in weekly view. Can these 2 fields be incorporated in Weekly View?

What happened to display of end times for iCal entries?

I recall that iCal with Snow Leopard showed the start and end times for every entry. If, for example you had "school" on Monday at 10am to Noon, then you would have a block occupying that time slot and on the top edge, it would say "10 AM" and at the bottom edge, it would say "12 PM."
That no longer seems to be the case; I only have the start time. This was a nice, handy feature, esp. when viewing many days, where the time scale isn't close by. suggestions? comments? thanks.

Click the orange fire fox button, then select the History menu, the option to clear recent history is there.
If you want, you can access the old style menus by pressing either Alt or F10.
