OTN discount on OCP exams

Hi
due to OTN ad : "All OTN members are entitled to a 20% discount on Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certifications" I registered for taking an exam using this discount but unfortunately, in registration confirmation there was no discount.
It would be greatly appreciated if you kindly check it and let me know what to do .

If you give the code "OTN20" to a Prometric Center, either online or via phone, they should give you a 20% discount on OCP exams.
There are some centers that are requesting an OTN membership id in addition, but Oracle is asking them to just accept the promotion code as proof of OTN membership.
If you could reply to this discussion with the name and location of any centers that ask for an OTN membership id, I will inform them of the correct process.

as justin said, there was a rebate for otn member last century. there is no more discount for otn member!

The prometric center is asking for proof that i am an OTN memeber.How do we prove it.Is there any memebrship number.

Preparation for Oracle 10g OCA and OCP exams

I am studying for my first Oracle 10g OCA exam. Thus far, I have the Transcender exam prep software and book from Oracle Press for the OCA/OCP exams with Oracle 10g. With a test Oracle 10g database to practice on while I study, am I on the right path?

Use the http://education.oracle.com OR http://otn.oracle.com as your portal - you'll see the Certification link on either one. From the Certification page you will be able to drill down to the objectives and requirements of the exam. I suggest you use that as a checklist, as the various books and sample exams have been known to include mistakes or miss items.
In addition, you should be familiar with the first few chapters of the Oracle Concepts manual and also, preferably, the first few chapters of the DB Admin Guide - both available from http://tahiti.oracle.com

OCP EXAM Application Developer Rel 2

I just want some advice which version of Oracle is suited for study the OCP exam for ORACLE Application Developer Rel.2, because
i think Oracle \Developer Version 8.0 is no
longer in the market and it keeps on updating.
most of the school/institution here in Dubai
are still using Oracle 8 Version 8.0
do you have any idea where to get that one also.

The thing to do is migrate to forms 6i. This version gives you the best results for web deployment. you need to install the forms service on your server (nt or unix). and then move your fmx's to this server. you can learn more about this by reading the developer 6i documentation that is available on otn.
we will have a module on migrating to the web as part of the online idevelop2001 seminars. (checkc at otn home page).

Oracle 9i OCA/OCP Exam

Hi,
I just want to know that is it compulsory to study in any prometric centre for appearing in all exams of 9i/10G? Someone told me that, i will not eligible to appear in exam, until and unless i am not student of any prometric centre. Is it right?

Sir, Thanks you so much. I checked the link provided by you and there is nothing mentioned like "a person must be a student of prometric / oracle authorized centre, for eligible in 9i oca/ocp exam". It means, if i prepare myself and study the oracle, i am eligible to appear in the exam (no need to be student of prometric / oracle authorized, bocz this condition is no where mentioned).

OCP Exam 1Z0-040: Installation Performance

OCP People,
I'm looking at topic areas for the OCP Exam 1Z0-040.
I'm curious about this topic:
"Installation Performance Enhancements"
What should I know about it?
Do many Oracle DBAs think that Oracle 8i,9i installation is too slow?
Perhaps 10g installation is faster?
When I see the term "Performance Enhancements", assuming I'm not reading a spam,
I expect a discussion about speed.
Perhaps there is more to it?
Maybe aside from duration, the 10g install is less likely to error out
or provide a better installation experience?
This could actually be a broad topic. I'm not sure what parts of it
the author of OCP Exam 1Z0-040 wants me to focus upon.
Thoughts anyone?

There are improvements with the OUI installation process. Can you list these? Do you know what is different between the 9i and 10g install screens? Have you looked at the New Features manual?
