The OTN News Feed is down again. The resulting XML document is missing [link] tags making the document invalid. It's been unavailable for about 4 days now which is pretty poor!

The OTN News Feed is down again. I've tried to contact OTN about this problem but I can't get through so I'm hoping someone there will read this and sort it. RSS OTN News Feed Broken!

The RSS OTN news feed is broken. It appears the document is missing. Has the URL changed or is this a mistake?

Otn news feed tutorial

unable to import xmlnews.dmp into a 9i database, get the following error:
IMP-00037: Character set marker unknown
IMP-00000: Import terminated unsuccessfully
did anybody had similiar problem? how can did you go around it?

I am having the same problem while attempting to import a set .dmp files. I have verified that the character set (WE8MSWIN1252) and NCHAR character set (AL16UTF16) are the same in the export and import environments, so I am a bit perplexed.
I don't know if it's relevant, but the export environment is at version 9.2.0.4.0 while the import environment is at version 9.2.0.1.0.

Mistake in OTN RSS News Feed

Hi.
The second item in the OTN News Feed titled "Web Services Development Made Easy" has an incorrect anchor definition which makes it appear as text rather than a link. To be precise there is a whitespace between the "<" and the "a".

Hi.
The OTN News Feed contains 3 stray "-" characters throughout the document. These are visible from IE, which still manages to parse the document, but prevent some XML parsers from working.
Please correct the document.

Hi.
I have a question. How are the RSS news feeds generated?
I don't want to sound narky, but I don't understand how basic structural errors like this can occur unless the pages are written manually. Content is only as good as the writer/editor, but structure is determined by the program so mistakes like this should happen rarely. I've seen approximately 6 in the last three months, some of which I've reported on this forum.
My homepage (http://www.oracle-base.com/Index.asp) uses the OTN RSS news feed so these problem stick out like a sore thumb to me.
Perhaps you should schedule a job to validate the output of these feeds daily.

Once again the OTN RSS News Feed is down. I got a reply once yesterday but the resulting XML document was invalid. Since then requests have returned nothing.

Create task from conversation thread in news feed - Task must be created in custom task list

Hi All,<o:p></o:p>
Have a new requirement
were user should be able to create a task for himself from a conversational
thread in News feed.<o:p></o:p>
In
SharePoint 2013 we have a functionality where we can follow up on a
conversation and it creates a task in My Tasks which is in My site.<o:p></o:p>
But my requirement
is to create a task in Tasks list in same site collection on click of follow
up.<o:p></o:p>
I have
tried one approach as below :<o:p></o:p>
My Tasks in
My site is an aggregated view of all tasks assigned to the logged in user. When
i follow a task in News feed a personal task is created in My task
(WmaAggregatorList_User internal name) list. When i Edit the personal task and
change the Projects
drop down to the required Project Name and Check -"Make this task public to project
members" it just creates a task is specific Site and moves
the task.<o:p></o:p>
I tried to
find if Projects and Check box are columns of Task list , but did not find any
columns.<o:p></o:p>
I am trying
to create a event receiver which would make these columns be set to Site Name
and check box checked so that when user creates a task it will directly move to
Custom Task list.<o:p></o:p>

Thank you for your responce. I used a content query wp to rollup only the Major Milestones, but am unable to overlay the results to a calendar.. The link you provided is for overlaying different task lists onto a calendar, but does not detail how to
overlay the results from the content query onto a calendar.

My system crashed several months ago -- had to go back to start, when i bought computer -i have reloaded firefox - and now i can not get pictures on Facebook -mine or any one else in the news feed

When I first downloaded Firefox- everything was normal -- then my computer had to be taken back to the way it was from the factory. I had Trojans. Now I have reloaded Firefox, and I get no pictures on Facebook. I get all of the graphics when I go to a game site, and it is fast--Thank you!!, but when I am on my Homepage or News feed, all I get are the names, but no pictures of my friends or what they have posted --pictures. In my profile, I have no picture of myself that I have posted, or in my albums.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox 4 times now, and still the same thing. PLEASE HELP ME-- I DO NOT LIKE WINDOWS EXPLORER-- IT IS SLOWER THAN MOLASSES IN A BLIZZARD-- IT TAKES MINUTES TO LOAD SOME OF MY GAMES-- AND SOME WON'T LOAD AT ALL.

With Facebook on display, click on the site identity button (for details on what that is see the [[site identity button]] article) and then on More Information. This will open up the page info dialog.
First select the Permissions panel, make sure that "Load Images" is set to allow (selecting Use Default should also work)
Next select the Media panel, then click on the first item in the list. Use the down arrow key to scroll through the list. If any item has the option "Block images from (domain name)" selected, de-select the option.
This should hopefully resolve your issue, but also see [[Images or animations do not show]].
Some add-ons can also block images, for example if you have AdBlock Plus installed, make sure that you have not accidentally created a filter to block the images.

Flash plugin failure on mythtv news feeds

I'm working on my mythtv box today, and added a couple of news feeds to check them out. One of them requires flash, and although I have the flashplugin package installed, it complains that flash isn't there. I can't seem to play any videos on mythweb either, but I don't get the complaint that flash isn't loaded.

Lion v10.7.3 and Safari 5.1.5
Your system software is outdated.
Click your Apple menu icon top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click Software Update.
Restart your Mac after the updates are installed.
Then open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Storage tab. Click: Delete All
Now uninstall the Flash plugin then reinstall new > Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
Very important to uninstall the currently installed Flash plugin before reinstalling.
Now open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here: ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Cick Go
Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Try a video.
If you have the ClickToFlash extension installed, that can prevent Flash based video from streaming. It can also be installed as a plugin in /Library/Internet-Plug-Ins.
And check to see if Safari is running in 32 bit mode. Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. If the box next to: Open in 32 bit mode is selected, deselect, quit then relaunch Safari.

Facebook news feed on safari has a bad scrolling

Hi,
I'm using safari 7 and mavericks, when I'm on facebook news feed (the new layout with sidebar on left side) the scrolling stops some times...
Someone else with this problem?

No issues with Facebook scrolling in the sidebar here on v10.9 and Safari 7.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
Click: Remove All Website data.
Now empty the Safari cache.
Back to Safari > Preferences, select the Advanced tab.
Select: Show Develop menu in menu bar
Now click Develop from the menu bar. From the drop down menu click Empty Caches.
Quit and relaunch Safari. Try Facebook.
