OTN Technology Track 9i Development Suite

I purchased & received the OTN Technology Track for Java Windows Developement Suite.
A brief overview of the entire CD pack would be greatly appreciated... TIPS for a quick start....warning that the CDs for Oracle9i Database cannot be installed if you wish to install Oracle9i Developer Suite. etc...
It IS NOT evident which CDs are mutually exclusive (i.e. should not be loaded together). After installing, deinstalling different products, I'm still not sure I have
loaded the correct products to support the learning environment I'm trying to build at home to learn Internet development with Oracle.

The trick to installing the database and the developer suite on the same machine is to install them in different Oracle_Homes (directories) on your machine.

in August and my credit card was billed. I received an email to expect the CD's in 2-4 weeks.
It is now > 5 weeks.
I am hoping to use 9i and related software in an evaluation for a client project.
What is the status?

I subscribed to the OTN Technology Tracks but did not receive any CD's for quite some time. I
think my one year subscription should still be active. Can somebody please provide an email
contact address where I can check my subscription status or why I didn't receive any new CD's in

Cannot download Developer Suite 10g (10.1.2.0.0) from OTN

Hi, everybody!
On page http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ids/index.html first link "Windows" points to download page for Application Server 10.1.2, not Developer Suite 10.1.2.
Where I can find download page for Developer Suite 10g (10.1.2.0.0) for Windows?

For as far as I know Developer Suite 10.1.2 is not available yet. The latest 10g release is version 9.0.4.
The current Application Server does not include Forms/Reports. Application Server with Forms/Reports will be released soon, and that will include a 10.x release of Developer Suite I assume

I am not quite sure what either of you are after, but if you hit the "Documentation" link on OTN you will find the documentation, such as the above list, for almost all of Oracle products. Most are available online in HTML format or PDF and some have a part number so that they can be ordered.

Download Oracle Developer Suite 10g (10.1.2.0.2) for Microsoft Windows

Hi
I unable to download Oracle Developer Suite 10g (10.1.2.0.2) for Microsoft Windows from the OTN website. The download starts from here: http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ids/htdocs/101202winsoft.html
There are two files. The second file; ds_windows_x86_101202_disk2.zip downloads fine. The first file; ds_windows_x86_101202_disk1.zip stops at 46Mb with the message "connection reset by server".
When downloading using getright as suggested on the FAQ the connection has to resume at 46Mb. Using segmented downloading in getright I have been able to download 636.92MB of the 640MB file. The getright download window shows connected; waiting for reply but I am unable to get the last few Meg.
Any ideas how to complete the download? Has anyone else completed it successfully?

I guess, it is a problem with your network.
Yesterday I have downloaded both the files and installed successfully. The first file took around 20 minutes and secod file took nearly 10 minutes to download.
Are you using office network? You can try downloading at home with DSL.

Are BI Beans already installed with Developer Suite 10g R2?

I wish to use BI Beans in Forms Builder 10g R2. Do I have to download the BI Beans separately or it has already been included when I install Developer Suite 10g R2? Thanks.

If you are planning to use Forms against a relational data source then you will only be able to use the BI Graph bean as part of your development. The graph bean is automatically shipped with JDeveloper and there is no need to install BI Beans.
There are lots of examples of how to use the graph bean with relational data sources and these can be found on the following sites:
OTN Reports Home Page - Links to the FAQ on graphing
BI Blog - posting on how to use the graph bean
BI10gR2 samples - contains a JSP example of how to use the graph bean with a relational and XML data source.
Forms does not support multi-dimensional data sources so there is no way to use the other BI Beans components such as query builder, calculation builder, crosstab beans unless you are using a multi-dimensional data source which requires use of Oracle OLAP (preferably 10gR2).

Installing developer suite on ubuntu 8.04

Hi,
I'm using Ubuntu since a couple of months now and i'am very happy of it.
I want to install developer suite 10gr2 on ubuntu. Of course I can do that with an xp virtualization.
But as the XE database is also available for ubuntu, with explanations for installation http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/linux/install/xe-on-kubuntu.html I want to do the same with forms builder.
Is there a tutorial for that ? is it even possible?

Don't see the SCM Installation Guide on 9i Developer Suite CD

Hi everybody,
I don't see the SCM Installation Guide on my 9i Developer Suite CD. The CD is Release 2 (9.0.2.0.0) for Windows. I do see a file for the release notes titled 'Oracle Software Configuration Manager Release Notes Oracle9i Developer Suite Release 2 (9.0.2). Any leads on where to find the installation guide is appreciated.
I'd like to read the guide before installing Oracle Designer 9i. Any help with installing these two products is appreciated.

Using Oracle Developer Suite 10g Without the Oracle Database

I have never used Oracle, but have used MS SQL Server 7. I need to learn Forms. An Oracle salesperson suggested I download Oracle Developer Suite 10g (the demo product). It includes the Oracle Developer Suite (with Forms Developer), and many other programs.
The salesperson said it includes a database server, but I suspect it does not. I only downloaded the package last night, and have begun to skim the documentation, but I see nothing that looks like a database server.
In SQL Server 7, the database engine is run as a service and you create and manage your tables (do all the database admin stuff) using SQL Enterprise Manager.
So, does this package include a database engine/server? Or must you also have the Oracle Database?
I don't see a demo version of the Oracle Database - is there one?

Oracle Developer Suite 32 Bit Version 10.1.2.0.2 Configuration issues

Hi,
I have installed Oracle Developer Suite 32 Bit Version 10.1.2.0.2 (Production) on windows xp sp-2 in a standalone machine.
The following Steps i have followed:
1.Oracle Developer Suite Installed
2.FORMS_PATH ,REPORTS_PATH and UI_ICON has been set in both Registry and default.env
My Application Folder setup is as follows :
D:\iAFRES\APPLICATION\FORMS
\MENUS
\REPORTS
\ICONS
Accordingly i have made the registry entries.
After doing all the above activities i am not able to show the icons ,run reports from web
.Please tell me what to do to resolve the issue and provide me the steps/documents for Application Deployment in Oracle 10g Developer Suite for Development purpose.

In Oracle Developer Suite 10g 1 2.0.2 where is SQLLDR.EXE?

Installed Oracle Developer Suite 10g 1 2.0.2, full install. Where's SQLLDR.EXE? It's no where to be found.
Is there something else I need to also install? I've just spent hours trying to find how to load SQL Loader in 10g. I can not find a definitive "Here's where you'll find the SQLLDR.exe and how to install it" in OTN. Anyone, any ideas?

Why would Oracle Developer Suite contain a database server tool?
You will find SQL*Loader in the database's $ORACLE_HOME/bin directory.
