OTR Translation - Se 63

Hello Everyone,
I have added new text(spanish) for an exsisting OTR (english)
I am doing this in se63.
When I saved the text, I got the following message:
"Still one of the texts to be processed"
I have checked help.sap.com but dont understand how to remove this message before I add the changes to T.req.

OTR Text not Displayed
Question: To make the OTR perform at runtime, all texts are cached. Sometimes it happens that texts in a specific language is updated, but this is not reflected in the cache. What will then happen is that the BSP application will still show the text in the wrong langauge or just as a series of cryptic numbers, although correct language texts are available.
Answer: Reset the OTR buffer with /$OTR sequence.

Retain OTR translations during upgrade

Hello Experts,
For our LSO application, We are changing some standard OTR translations from package LSO_FRONTEND_WDUI.
Our concern is that upgrading might overwrite all the changes we have made.
Does anyone have experience with this & what can be the solution for this?

Hi,
How you are going to change the texts? using Access key? While upgrade, you will have the option to overwrite the changes or to keep the original. Also, you can always retrieve the changed objects from previous versions.

Creating OTR Translation

Hi,
Recently we have upgraded from ECC 5.0 to ECC 6.0. I am not able to create OTR Translation. SE63 transaction has changed a lot after upgrade. However I am able to create OTR in one language but I am not able to create a translation in other languages for the same OTR.
Can anyone help me on this ??

Otr translation

Hi Experts,
For a standard webdynpro component an enhancement has been done in the view and a new Text View has been added in the layout. Now I want to translate the text which is displayed in the screen in different language. The text is shown as
$OTR:Z/SCI_ADDITIONAL_DATA
I was trying to translate the otr in se63 - Translation - ABAP Objects - Transport Objects
Here I have entered R3TR SOTR but what should i enter the package name?
Is there any other way to translate the enhanced object text?
I tried the tool in this page but it does not show the enhancement implementation OTRs

Hi,
Please find below steps for OTR translation using SOTR_EDIT.
Step 1: Go to Transaction SOTR_EDIT
Step 2: Put the Alias nameand display
Step 3: Go to Edit->Context->Change menu .
Step 4: Do not choose anything in the popup. Just Hit Enter.
Step 5: You will be in change mode. Now select the language (e.g. DE)
Step 6: Blank out the Length field. Enter the text in Text field. The length will come automatically. (Or you can also specify the max value here).
Step 7: Now Press Save button. The text has been saved.
Step 8: Now select other language from dropdown (E.g. EL Greek) and change the Text and blank out the Length field (you can also specify Max length here as per your choice)
And press Save. In similar way, you can just create the OTR for Multilanguageu2019s.
Step 9: At last save and come out. Enter another Alias and repeat the procedure.

Transport OTR Translations ECC6.0

Hi all
I did create couple for OTR texts(SOTR_EDIT) for my application, which are working fine if the login user language is EN, I translated couple of OTR texts into DE and tested the application which works well in development system. How do I transport these translations to QA system? When creating translations it is not creating any transport requests? I did the translations in SE80. I was looking into transaction SE63 but couldnt do any thing in there. Some one help me in this regard? It is urgent .

But if you make some changes to the application in the Development server and again transport these changes some translations might go missing!
I don´t agree with this, unless there´s some misconfiguration in your system or the basis team has to implement some packages. The BSP development is independent of the OTR-texts. The creation and maintenance of the BSP application cannot influence the apperance or disapperance of OTR-texts. The BSP application is at the end a user of the OTR-texts.
I suggest you Manasa to create an independent transport order with your OTR-Texts (which you have to add one by one, unfortunately). Check first that all texts have been correctly translated.

OTR translation is not working NW 2004s

Hello all,
I am changing the translation of a standard OTR text but it is not working, once I change it the page still display the old text until I reboot the WebAS server.
Thus I deduce there is a cache or buffer that must be restart for the changes to take effect or there is a bug on NW2004s version.
Does anyone know if there is such a cache and where can I reset it, I already tried to reset HTTP cache but it did not work.

Translate OTR message

I don't know where this subject shoud be put. Since this issue occurred when i developing wd4a, i put it here.
when an invalidate date was entered, the dynpro will prompt a message ''2010/09/31' ist ein ungültiges Datum. " with language DE. I know the text concept id '42E77505469C2AC7E10000000A1146E5' but i don't know how to translate it into language ZH.
i tried t-code SOTR_EDIT and find the concept through package SABP, but cannot create new language for the otr text.

There is also a translation "tool" for OTR translations that is freely available on SCN - it is nice to use in that it makes it much easier to see which text needs translations

Otr does not display original language

Hello experts.
I have created an OTR , translated it. Everything is supposed to be fine.
In the View display, I can see the text in the original langue, but when I run the application I get the concept number instead.
The translation works fine btw.
Any ideas?

Changing OTR texts

I need to change some texts in a standard Web Dynpro.
I think the easiest way is to change them in the OTR, but after changing them they continue to appear as before. What do I have to do for the changes to appear?
I've noticed that when editing the texts I have to provide a country and an "Industry", and the only option I get for Industry is /0CUST/.
After saving the changes, in the OTR list I still get the old text, but if I select it and press the Contexts button,
I get a list that looks like this:
Ctry          Indust.          C          Text
                    X          Original text
ES          /0CUST/                    New text
What do I do for the Web Dynpro to show the new text?

the workaround described in SAP Note [1048263|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1048263] "OTR: (Translated) texts not correctly displayed at runtime" should be helpful in your case.

Translation of cProjects 3.1 to Norwegian

I'm working on a project where we're setting op cProjects 3.1.
My problem is that we need cProjects in Norwegian but there is no support for that yet.
Is it possible to do your own translations in cProjects?

Hi Jacob,
yes, this should be possible via transaction SE63. You have to translate OTR texts (OTR means Online Text Repository), which is used by cProjects. Most of the texts are OTR short texts and belong to the Package DEVELOPMENT_PROJECTS_UI_BSP, although there are some texts, which belong to SOTR_VOCABULARY_BASIC.
There was also a SDN thread about importing and exporting OTR texts for an offline translation OTR-Translation

OTR probleme

Several OTR translation aren't visible in my bsp application. UK text yes, but some dutch or french text (no the same) ar'nt visible ... I did translation with SE63 ....

We were also missing some translations in Dutch. For example several from SBSP_EXCEPTIONS. Translating with SE63 should do the trick though.
So no solution, but a tip. We asked SAP support for these translations, hot package or whatever. They offered to make these translations straight into the system, as it is apparently rather difficult to supply them with transports.
Now it is working fine.

Hello Abdullah,
I will introduce the most simple way to do that change. Remember that this solution is possible if your text is part of the OTR translation of your SAP GUI.
I never tested it in MDM catalog but, take a look..
1. Copy the text you are trying to change.
2. Log in your server
3. Enter to transaction SOTR_EDIT
4. Enter *Bestellung abschließen* and German language in text correspondent fields.
5. Try to display it like a short or description text.
6. Good luck if you find it, then modify it.

How can we transport the standard changed OTR texts with out effecting the translation concept.?
means i need to see the text in different languages which ever logged in.

using the function module SOTR_API_WB_TRANSLATE you can maintain translation in different languages for the OTR texts maintained in your WDA.
No need to transport,you can directly execute this FM by passing the below parameters:

Bsp logon in other language translation for OTR not displaying.

have few queries if you can help me to resolve those i will out of criss to hunt more.
1) i have application designed in English, now i have created OTR for that now i have login to Spanis Language
when i choose the option GOTO-> translate it is asking with a Pop Up EN To ES so clicked yes.
now its also ask me Maintain In Logon Language or Original Language (Please guide me what excatly i have to Choose),
for testing purpose i choose maintain in Original Language but when i logon in Sapanish logon its shows me in the degugger
SY-LANGU AS EN , BUT it should be ES , i am wondering why this happen , then again i have done it in the other way round but not working , but according to your Old Blog if i change the Qery
string for example i explain:

if i add ?sap-language= ES

No i am not using portal , well i will try what you guided me , and willl soon get back to you , thanks you soo much , will hook you soon on this issue once client give the translations .
But stilll one question do i need to login in ES language to maintain translations, then only it will ask me for maintain in original language OR Logon Language , i will select Maintain in logon language as suggested by you thanks , still write me for more retification thanks Raja.

Not able to translate OTR

hi all,
can someone plz tell how to translate OTR, i went to
se63->sotr, gave details and pressed EDIT .. it shows an error that "objetc doesnt exist"
i gave alias name (for object name ) and translation area
(there was only one option , so i selected that)

I have had such problems before in SE63 (the same happens for translating SAPScripts) and the only solution I found so far was the following:
Just fill in something like <part of name> and use F4 help to select the text, then it should be no problem! This is because it seems like SE63 is not happy with only the name, but wants some additional data too.
