OUI-25031 during oms configuration in grid control

Hello,
I am installing EM 10.2.0.1 grid control using a new database on Enterprise linux 4.2. The installer keeps failing with OUI-25031 at the OMS configutaion assistant.

Hello,
I am trying to install oracle 10g R2 in linux RHEL 6.1 but i am receiving few error as stated below.
Error in invoking target 'ioracle' of makefile /oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/rdbms/lib/ins_rdbms.mk
Error in invoking target 'clientonlyinstall' of makefile
/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/ldap/lib/ins_ldap.mk
Error in invoking target 'install' of make file
/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/ctx/lib/ins_ctx.mk
Error in invoking target 'agent nmo nmb' of make file
/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/sysman/lib/ins_sysman.mk
Error in invoking target 'all_no_orcl' of make file
/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/rdbms/lib/ins_rdbms.mk
I have skipped all these error and finally when i type in dbca i am getting the below linking error,
UnsatisfiedLinkError exception loading native library: njni10
I want to know if this is basically because of the RHEL6.1 which is not compatible for Oracle10gR2.
Can anyone reply to this?

  • Configuration of grid control agent 11g

    Hello guys,
I have problem with configuration of Grid control agent 11g. Root cause of the problem is that target machine is in DMZ Zone. So there is lack of ports enabled. Other agents I've been installed works properlly.
The one I am talking is able to upload data, but in case of configration I get error message: "Error occurred while getting information for the specified target. Possible reasons include: the target doesn't exist; connection to the target failed."

Thanks Lubiez Jean-Valentin! I think the point is here.
Configuring the Firewall to Allow Incoming Communication From the Management Service
While the Management Agents in your environment must upload data from your managed hosts to the Management Service, the Management Service must also communicate with the Management Agents. As a result, if the Management Agent is protected by a firewall, the Management Service must be able to contact the Management Agent through the firewall on the Management Agent port.
By default, the Enterprise Manager installation procedure assigns port 1830 to the Management Agent. However, if that port is occupied, the installation may assign an alternate port number.
After you determine the port number assigned to the Management Agent, you must then configure the firewall to allow incoming HTTP or HTTPS traffic (depending upon whether or not you have enabled Enterprise Manager Framework Security) on that port.
As I said already port 1830 was enabled. I did it because I saw that agent status - attached also here.
In case anybody know please tell me who to determine the port assigned to the Mangement Agent...

  • How to configure EM Grid Control for more than one databases?

    Hi,
I'm configuring EM on Oracle 10gRel1 on Linux. I have more than one databases in the server, and I want use IE at my PC to monitor the databases on Linux server. I can configure and access the Grid Control Console by emca for first database, but cannot configure for the second one, unless I remove the first one configurration. How can I configure EM for more than one databases?
    Thanks.

    Thank you everybody.
Yes, I'm talking about DBConsole rather than Grid Control (sorry for misuse the term). I managed to set up DB Console for every DB in the same Linux box (10Rel1). What I did is:
    1) stop db console and agent with emctl
    2) remove repository with RepManager
    3) config with emca
Then I can monitor individual databases from my PC (but have to login with different port).
I'm thinking mybe I should use Grid Control instead.

  • Streams configuration using grid control 10.2

can we configure streams thru grid control 10.2 ? Please let me know the step by step streams configuration.
    Thanks.

Grid Control has a wizard that helps configure table, schema, or full database replication. You can use the wizard to generate a script to do the configuration, ask well. There are some online resources available that cover the replication wizard and monitoring Streams in general with EM.
For example, there is an annotated presentation ( Grid Control 10.2.0.5: Streams Management ) that describes the EM Streams pages and how to use them. Link at: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e10703/tdpii_repcont.htm
There is also an Oracle By Example (OBE) demonstrating 11.2 DBControl Streams management that walks through the replication wizard and other configuration and monitoring. Link at: http://http//www.oracle.com/technology/obe/demos/11gr2/streams11_2/streams_and_em/streams_and_em_viewlet_swf.html
The 11.2 2Day+ Data Replication and Integration book(Chapter 4) also includes a walk-through of the 11.2 DBControl Streams pages. Link at: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e10703/tdpii_repcont.htm#BABEFAFI

  • Quick question:  redundant OMS databases for Grid Control

    Dear Friends,
I am wondering if it is possible to configure redundant OEM Management Server databases on separate servers and how would that be done?
I don't think it is possible to have an agent write to more than one OMS database, so how is it possible to have our OEM management server redundant?
Is running DG the only option?
    Thanks.
    Ji Li

    Damorgan:
I thought I remembered doing this at a previous site that I worked a few years ago, but I don't remember how I did it.
Will I need to configure dual listeners, or use separate ports for the dual agents?
Do you know where there might be instructions for how to set up and run dual agents on the same server?
    Thanks again.

  • Oracle PeopleSoft Enterprise Manager Plugin Installation on oem grid control 12c facing error

    Hi Friends,
I am planning to monitor Peoplesoft 8.52 HRMS application through oem 12c grid control. First I have installed 12c grid control successfully. Hi,
I just came across the same problem.
In my case, I hit this issue while trying to reinstall Oracle EMCC 12g.
Since previous installation failed, I decided to start from the beginning again but I am now hitting this.
Before trying to reinstal, I dropped SYSMAN and a few other users created on the provided DB.
    Did you solve this issue?
I believe I may have not "clean up" the database properly. Which would be the right way of wiping out the DB without actually rebuild it again?
    Thanks

  • Install EM 10g Grid Control on  Solaris 10 x86

    Hi all
I need to install Enterprise Manager 10g Grid Control Release 2 on Solaris 10 x86 platform.
I found out the following link where I can download the software:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/oem/index.html
Howerver it seems that there isn't any download for my platform. Does anybody know where can I find the software?
How can I configure EM Grid Control on that platform if I don't have the software. Does anybody know a manual installation and configuration method?
    King regard and thank you
    Aron

That means it is not yet available for 10.2, but it is for 10.1

  • Monitoring a 9.2.0.3 database instance in Grid Control 11gR1

    Hi,
we configured EM Grid Control 11gR1 for monitoring some database instances. The monitoring works fine for the versions 9.2.0.1, 10.2.0.4 and 11gR2 , but we cannot configure it for version 9.2.0.3 and version 9.2.0.6.
The main page of 9.2.0.3 and 9.2.0.6 instances reports "Metric Collection Error" and every configuration (with Statspack or without, enable metrics or disable them) gives the same message.
I know that EM 11R1 is certified only for 9.2.0.8 but it seems strange that it works for version 9.2.0.1 (even if most features are disabled) and it don't works for the others 9.2 versions.
Someone has the same issue? Any suggestion ?
    Thank you for your help.

    Hello,
can you verify if the DBSNMP account is accessible (e.g. account is not locked).
Please have a look at Note:340158.1 for some debugging information around this error.

  • Trouble with 10g after Installing Grid Control

Main problem: after installing Grid Control and rebooting, I can no longer access my databases.
I have 10g installed on a fairly decent Windows XP machine. It was running okay, but I had two Oracle database instance processes running at 200mb of RAM each (of a total of 1 GB of RAM), so it was a bit bogged down, as is to be expected when running Oracle as a server on Windows.
I then installed Grid Control, which seemed to go okay, and another database as well. But once the install completed, and I gained access to the Grid Control version of the OEM for the first time, that's when things got wacky. Connecting to any OEM instance started taking anywhere from 2-10 minutes, everything was bogged down considerably, etc. I tried shutting everything down and rebooting, but now things are worse. OEM is timing out and not finding servers, listener is timing out, etc. I've tried manipulating a few things in Net Manager (I noticed that my LISTENER section didn't seem to contain any data at all, and my databases weren't listed in there either) with no result.
I've also had trouble with "host credentials" and being able to administer the databases within the OEM, even after implementing a fix I had found to add my user name to a "log on as batch job" local security policy.
Finally, I noticed that after installing Grid Control, when I run "sqlplus", I now see "Oracle91 Enterprise Edition" instead of the "Oracle10g" it used to show (and I never had anything but 10g installed on this machine!).
Here's what happens when I try to access my dBs:
-When I try to launch the OEM connected to any of the 3 databases I created (which were previsouly running), the browser just times out with "page cannot be displayed".
-When I run "emctl start <ANYTHING>" I get file/path not found errors, and a file path with both forward and backward slashes (starting after the "agent" directory):
    C:\oracle\product\10.1.0\agent/<...etc.>
-When I try to test a connection to a service in Net Manager, I get this error:
    ORA-12557: TNS:protocol adapter not loadable
I had to manually add my listener info and databases info(under Service Naming) in Net Manager, but everything appeared fine in Oracle Directory Manager (unfortunately, that doesn't help much, since this is just a general info tool).
I am nothing near a DBA and my knowledge is limited, so I apologize for not being more consise, but I'd be glad to elaborate if someone could tell me what they need to know.
    Thank you,
    John

Yes; thank you both. Although I had 1 GB physical and 1.5 GB virtual memory configured, running Grid Control seemed to completely kill all available resources.
I have removed GC and its related database and applications, and I can again conncet to my databases via Database Control. Thank you.
By the way, another issue has arisen, seemingly in the aftermath of installing GC: my OEM Database Control instances now time out after about 60 seconds, logging me out each and every time. I have cookies enabled, but this doesn't seem to be the trouble. Is there a Web setting somewhere that will kick users out of the instance at timed intervals?

  • Run Singlular Database Control and Grid Control Agents at the same time????

    Hello,
I have walked into a new job where one of my 1st tasks is installing and configuring EM Grid Control version 10.2.0.3. Most of the individual databases already have singular EM/Database Control also set up for basic monitoring - some are 10.2.0.1 databases; some are 9.2.0.7 databases.
Can I continue to run the existing singular EM Database Controls for monitoring and managing the databases while I am getting connected, the new agents up and running, and the Grid Control templates and alerts and notification fully set up?
Or will I have to shut down those agents fully prior to installing the new 10.2.0.3 agents???
I am hoping so since they use different communication ports of 1158 for the singular Database Controls versus 4889 for Enterprise Wide Grid Control.
Thanks for any help in clarifying this.
    KL

OK, so as long as I keep the homes separate & straight, I could conceivably allow them both (Database Control and Grid Control Agent) to run AND be used at the same time - even when using secured grid control (https), correct? Just have the separate homes for separate agents and use separate ports for the different consoles?
Of course I might still run into an issue with this, ass I am also in the process of securing Grid Control... The current Database Console used by the app users to monitor is NOT an https url...
The real reason for this is because some app users are used to using the EM Database Control for application monitoring. I would like to not take that away from them while I am in the process of setting up all of the users, roles, alerts, groups, etc. on Grid Control.

  • Whats the functional difference between dbconole and using the Grid control.

I know this may seem like a strange question, but I was wondering if I only have one instance on my server, would benefit would i gain if I installed and configured the grid control
over the dbconsole that comes with the 11gr2?
I know the Grid control can discover many databases, but what else can it do that the dbconsole cannot?
    thanks!

    Hi,
    Indeed good question.
It depends on installation type you selected. But are responsible for user administration in terms of creating, deleting, updating and role assignment tasks to users and groups.
--CUA is meant for ABAP Installation. CUA is responsible for entire landscape user administration works with RFC connection talking to all ABAP systems
--UME is meant for Java installations, plus UME is responsible for handling communication between ABAP users and java users.
    UME
For more details see below links all advantages and disadvantages of both systems and comparisons deliberately.

    hi,
before you install grid, try and patch the database to a later release, 10.2.0.4
had this issue in work and patching the db resolved the issue.
I did install database software only, then patch then create database, then install grid
