Ouick time out of date!
When opening quicktime or itunes i receive an information window that says quick time is out of date.quick time is upto date.I have tried the
proceedures stated in article 93976. these did not work!! Dell is no help, Please help!!
Thanks.
i've seen that happen sometimes if old system files from an earlier install of QuickTime are lurking about in your System32 folder.
head into My Computer, and go "Tools > Folder Options". Click the View tab.
select "Show hidden files and folders".
deselect "Hide extensions for known file types".
Click OK.
now go "Start > Find". do an "All files and folders" search for QuickTime.
what is the full name of any files and folders showing up in the C:\Windows\System32\ folder? (include filename extensions.)
(don't delete anything at this stage ... some QT files are supposed to be there. we're just checking to see if anything is there that shouldn't be there.)

Data extraction hanging/time-out for certain FISCPER parameters
Hi all,
Our process chain that extracts and load data from one cube into another hangs when the FISCPER parameter value range is on the same fiscal year and the 'period to' value is 09 or less. We've tested this also using RSA3 and the same result happened.
Below are the FISCPER scenarios that we've tested using both our Process Chain and RSA3:
2009001 to 2009012 -> test result is ok
2008001 to 2008011 -> test result is ok
2009002 to 2009012 -> test result is ok
2009001 to 2009009 -> test result is not ok:loading hangs/time-out
2008002 to 2008008 -> test result is not ok:loading hangs/time-out
Can anyone share the solution please if this was also experienced before?
Thanks in advance.
AloyThis has been resolved. Oracle release earlier than 10.2.0.4.0 still uses factview when selecting records. Because of this, certain issues arise and one of these is the time-out during data selection. the problem can be solved by disabling the use of factview or by upgrading oracle database.

Environment: We are running SQL Server 2012 Standard Edition with Analysis Services. Reporting Services on a separate machine. Visual Studio 2010.
I have a Date dimension with a generated table named Time. To the table I have added custom columns to show Week_Ending and Short_Date_Alpha that are used in Excel Reports from the Analysis Services Cubes.
When I attempt to use this dimension in Reporting Services, it times out if I try to use it as a parameter. The report will run for 30 minutes, never surface the parameter selection box and then eventually time-out with an unknown error related to
the time dimension. This is in Visual Studio.
If I pull the dimension directly from the SQL table I can produce a report on it. If I run the full query for the measures with the default date selected it runs in seconds in the query builder. Here are 10 rows of the relevant
table structure:
PK_Date Date_Name Reporting_Year Reporting_Year_Name Reporting_Month Reporting_Month_Name Reporting_Week Reporting_Week_Name Reporting_Day Reporting_Day_Name Short_Date_Alpha End_of_Week_Name Week_Ending WorkDay

The dimension looks fine when I browse it. It produces the correct information in the Excel Reports, but I cannot get it to work in Reporting Services.
I have deleted dates out of the cubes and processed, then added the Time dimension back in and processed and it still won't work. I have a cube running off a table called Date and that seems to work.
Is the issue with the table name? With the custom descriptions? Something else?How would you best suggest limiting the time frame? Add a filter to the query so that the future dates are not part of the selection? I'm doing some data refresh in the data mart so won't be able to try limiting the selection
for a few hours.
Hi Diane,
Could you please let us know how many available values for your date parameter(the quantity of date dimension in SSAS)? One workaround that we can try to add an additional text parameter which will prefilter the available values in the large parameter list.
Here is similar thread about this topic for your reference, please see:

How do you edit out the date and time stamp from a photo
How do you edit out the date and time stamp from a photo
You can blur it out with retouch
The built-in "Retouch" brush in "Edit" mode should suffice, if the background is mostly uniform, and if you set the size of the brush to slightly wider than the bar width of the letters. For example, in this picture I removed the year from the date (in the lower right corner) by using the "retouch" brush and following the contours of the letters. (the screen shot is from iPhoto '11, but iPhoto 9 should give similar results).

Some of your Quick time is out of date. You can fix this problem by updatin
I am running Windows XP SP2 with V 7.1.3 of Quicktime. Every time I lauch QT, I get the error message:
"Some of your Quick time is out of date. You can fix this problem by updating to the latest version."
I have gone onto Apple's web site and got the very latest I can see of QT, and no matter what I keep getting this message. I have 400 PC's in a school district that every time they lauch QT it gets this error. There are 2 tabs "update now" or "cancel". If we select Update now, it doesn't update because we already have the latest. So we just have to do "cancel". Has anyone seen this? Please help.

[email protected]I posted a similar problem. I removed everything and in addition I removed two Quick Time files in System32. I reinstalled everything and it worked. For details read my posted problem and the solution

Firefox showing up to date and out of date at the same time.
Trying to use www.workflowy.com and the sites says my firefox is out of date. Help > About Menu shows I'm at 5.0.1 and up to date, but when I went to http://whatsmyuseragent.com/ it gave me this info: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.12) Gecko/2009070611 Firefox/3.0.12 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)

Right-click the preferences that are '''bold''', one line at a time, and select '''''Reset'''''. <br />
Then restart Firefox -
Any time I start itunes or use the Apple site, I get a pop up stating "Some of your Quick Time software is out of date. You can fix this by updating to the latest version (then choices of: 'Cancel', 'Do it now')". If I select 'Do it now', I get a second pop up which says "Information received from the Quick Time Server is Invalid. Please try again later."
Itunes seems to work if I select "Cancel". The Apple site keeps giving me the same popups.
I have uninstalled, and reinstalled Itunes/Quicktime with no impact. I've tried the "DO it now" both behind a firewall and on an 'open' home DSL line with the same next pop up.
Thanks for your help.I get this exact error message. I've been getting this error message for a long time. I've reinstalled itunes and quick, both together and individually, many times and I have updated numerous times since I began getting this message. Just like the person from the post, I can't seem to figure it out, but it is described accurately. The error appears every time I open itunes or quicktime, and if I click update I get the same second error message. iTunes seems to work fine after the messages, but how would I know if I am missing out on something?

Transaction on Oracle 9i data source connection times out before JTA transaction
Hello,
I have a MDB with a long-running transaction (3600 second timeout).
In the MDB, I make a call to another EJB that has its transaction
attribute set to NotSupported (I do this because I need
non-transactional semantics in the called method).
If the EJB call take more than about a minute to complete, then I get a
datasource error when using the data source in the MDB after the return
(see error at bottom). However, if the call completes quickly, then I do
not get this error. It seems like the datasource connection somehow
times out, but I don't see where I can change this timeout.
pseudocode:
// timeout set to 3600 seconds
transactional MDB onMessage() {
// receive connection from Oracle BEA driver
// myEJB performLongOperation has transaction attribute
// set to NotSupported
String result = myEJB.performLongOperation();
// use connection from Oracle BEA driver
If the performLongOperation takes more than about a minute, then I get
the following error when using the connection after the operation:

Changing time-out for scheduled data refresh
Using a Power Query connection, is it possible to extend the time-out time for scheduled data refreshes? The amount of data to be retrieved is rather limited, but there's thousands of rows (NAV server).
If not, any suggestions to how to reduce latency?
Thanks.Thorm,

Time out (more than 24 hours) deleting master data.
We are trying to delete the 0CUST_SALES = ´000000000#´ but we are not able to do it because if we delete and try to save in rsa1>infoobject->choose the characteristic->'master data maintenance', there will be a time out error. We tried than using the program RSDMD_DEL_BACKGROUND but it would take more than
72 hours and we wouldnt be able to do any load for the cubes that contains the 0CUST_SALES. And also there is several aggregates with 0CUST_SALES
Do you know any other way around to delete this 0CUST_SALES = ´000000000#´?
Look forward for a suggestion....
RubensHi Rubens:
Do you want to delete only that record (0000000#) from 0CUST_SALES.iF SO, GO TO rsdmd and select that record and delete. if t doesnt work you might want to try SE14. Bu please be advised that, when you this Tcode spl care shd be taken as you will be wiping everything from the tables.

I understand the charter on this is to "check-in" once every time the program is turned on, and then once every 6 hours after that, or, once every 24 hours presumably. But the phone-home-effect is over-stepping these basic parameters. If a user turns their browser off and then on, Firefox is still obligated to "check-in" even if it just checked in 3 minutes prior. If the coding is not pre-designed to overstep, or act excessively in a redundant focus, the instance of once every six hours or once every 24 hours, is still overmuch if a user has been doing this (non-voluntarily-participating) for 9 months or longer.
== This happened ==
Every time Firefox opened
== This started when Firefox took up the initiative of "improving service. to end users" or similar idea, making the web safer for novice users, etcetera.Opening question was truncated. Should read: "Firefox users cannot presently exercise choice, to opt-in or out of "data collected for improving services." As a result, Firefox is constantly dialing home, sometimes four times a day or more up to 48 times a day. There is some over-stepping and redundancy here. It would seem the practice of "improving service" has been accomplished with as much information as Mozilla has gathered in the last 6-18 months about its users habits. '''Isnt it about time to give users the option to opt out of that now that most the heavy liftiing has been accomplished?'''"

%>Hi All,
I am using below java SDK code to render a report in crystal report viewer. When i refresh report with more data(more parameter value) the server session times out in portal. Is there any way to fix this issue. The report loads data and then displays in Crystal report viewer, When more data is there the server times out as the server time is set to 60 sec. Is there any way to open the crystal report viewer as and when the report loads data to avoid server time out isse.
Please help . Please let me know if I am missing something.. Thanks in Advance!!!

Dequeue element times out even when queue element has new data
Hi,
I am using a producer/consumer set up and I am only getting one-iteration from my consumer loop. I have probed the cluster wire that feeds the enqueue element of the producer and there is a continuous data stream there. I have a timeout wired to the dequeue element in the consumer loop and have tried different times from 1ms to 1000ms. It is currently at 25ms. There has to be something else that is causing this issue, but I am overlooking it.
I also tried adding an event handler that would detect a value change in the data. That didn't do anything. I have tried to restart my machine to no avail. I am about to shut down and take the battery out of my laptop and reboot (the act of a man out of options).
If anyone could help, I would be indebted.

Dequeue Waiting.vi 139 KBThanks Javed_H
I thought that I tried that, but either I didn't or I did it while there was another bug. At any rate, the time-out on the event handler did fix it. I appreciate your help.
The reason I am using an event handler rather than a local variable is because I have been told many, many times that the local variable is somewhat of a hack. They gave me other reasons, although they escape me now. I do recognize and agree, however, that the local variable would work. I'm letting the design asthetics of others dictate my code.
Thank you for your input,

Hi,
I have taken some photos with my digital camera. When I hover over them in windows xp, a popup tells me exactly when the photo was taken. This must be stored as some meta-data within the jpeg image but I can't figure out how to get to that data using either the image i/o or JAI.
Can anyone help, please?
Thanks,
DaveHere is code to dump out meta data:
import java.io.*;
import java.net.URL;
import java.util.*;
import javax.imageio.*;
import javax.imageio.metadata.*;
import javax.imageio.stream.*;
import org.w3c.dom.*;
public class Meta {
public static void main(String[] args) throws IOException {
String loc = "file:images/Camera.png";
URL url = new URL(loc);
InputStream stream = url.openStream();
ImageInputStream in = ImageIO.createImageInputStream(stream);
String suffix = loc.substring(loc.lastIndexOf('.')+1);
Iterator readers = ImageIO.getImageReadersBySuffix(suffix);
while (readers.hasNext()) {
ImageReader reader = (ImageReader) readers.next();
reader.setInput(in);
IIOMetadata meta = reader.getImageMetadata(0);
String[] formats = meta.getMetadataFormatNames();
for(int i=0; i<formats.length; ++i)
dump(meta.getAsTree(formats), 0);
static void dump(Node node, int spaces) {
indent(spaces);
System.out.print("<" + node.getNodeName());
if (node.hasAttributes()) {
NamedNodeMap map = node.getAttributes();
for(int i=0; i< map.getLength(); ++i) {
Node attr = map.item(i);
System.out.print(' '+ attr.getNodeName() + "=\"" + attr.getNodeValue()+"\"");
System.out.print('/');
System.out.println(">");
if (node.hasChildNodes()) {
for (Node child = node.getFirstChild(); child != null; child = child.getNextSibling())
dump(child, spaces+4);
indent(spaces);
System.out.println("</" + node.getNodeName() + '>');
static void indent(int spaces) {
for ( ; spaces>0; --spaces)
System.out.print(' ');
