Our Advast was disabled with upgrade of Firefox. We want to go back.

We upgraded Firefox to 5 and are now told that our Advast (antivirus) program will not work with the upgrade. They checked for upgrades to Advast and found none. We do not want to be without Advast. How can we go back to our prior version of Firefox? We tried your auto "help" and didn't get any further than your saying "click on the Firefox button". We can't find the Firefox button. Our computer knowledge is minimal. Please give us detailed help!!

While we are waiting for your directions we clicked on Advast and it says that it is fully enabled and protecting us. What is going on?

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

No, it's still in version 5.2.0.13, but the update/patch sent resolved the problem!

There is no solution here and you should already have known this as you replied to a thread all about this a few up from your own post and this stated the postition quite clearly and the question was answered.
Why do you ask the same question again?  The first answer is not going to change just because you don't like it!!

  • The back and forward button stay disabled after upgrading to Firefox 4

I upgraded to Firefox 4 and the back and forward buttons are never enabled. I see them, but they are not working.
History works, recently closed pages work, bookmarks work.
I disabled all addons, uninstalled FF4, deleted \Program Files\Firefox, re-installed, kept extensions disabled, removed all backups from bookmarkbackups, deleted places.sqlite and still nothing.
    What else can I do?

Norton has a fix out. See: http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Security-Norton/Norton-Toolbar-5-5-incompatible-with-Firefox-4-RC1/td-p/411556/page/2

  • Google isn't compatible with FF 6.0. Want to go back to FF4.0

Since we upgraded to FF 6.0 we can't install and use Google Toolbar and a lot of our other add-ons that we could use with FF 4.0. It's very frustrating and we want to go back to FF 4.0. If we can't go back, we'll stop using FF and go to Microsoft Internet Explorer.

    Hello Andrew.
You may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not coming from one of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] and select ''Disable all add-ons''. If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. See [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes this article] for information about troubleshooting extensions and theme. You can troubleshoot plugins the same way.
If you want support for one of your add-ons, you'll need to contact its author.

  • I just upgraded to Lion and want to go back to Snow Leopard ..I have time machine..is there a way?

I just upgraded to Lion and Quicken will not work and not sure if I want to go back to Snow Leopard.  I have a timemachine and would like to know if someone could help to either get quicken working or how I can get back to snow leopard?

Did you check the Quicken website before upgrading your Mac? It specifically says that Quicken will not work on Lion.
    http://quicken.intuit.com/support/help/install--register--and-convert/quicken-fo r-mac-compatibility-with-mac-osx-10-7-lion/GEN83208.html
Just reinstall Snow Leopard. Should work fine. You can downgrade to previous software as long as the Mac supports the earlier version. If it previously had Snow Leopard, then re-installing is fine.
However!!! If you have a newer computer that was "born with" Lion, you cannot downgrade, as the firmware will not be compatible.
    Good Luck!

  • Superfish was bundled with the latest Firefox upgrade-how do I get rid of it since it d/n appear as an add-on (although it can be disabled just as an add-on would be when in safe mode)?

Superfish appears on most of the shopping sites I use since I upgraded to the latest version of Firefox. I have tried to investigate ways to remove it (since it is behaving like malware even after getting past Norton) but I am unable to follow the standard instruction of disabling the add-on. It does not appear on my list of add-ons and extensions. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The only way I can avoid this annoyance is to run Firefox in safe mode, not optimal for me.

    Hi Walter,
Hopefully this blog explains it a little better

  • With upgrade to Firefox 3.6.10, Windows XP slow to boot & browsers even slower to become available. Not sure the problem is Firefox, but everything was fine until the latest automatic upgrade to 3.6.10.

This just happened again for perhaps the third time.

The Firefox 3.6.24 version is the latest version of the 3.6.x branch, so do not install an older version.
    *Firefox 3.6.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
Firefox 4 and later require at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac.
    * http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/8.0/system-requirements/
For an unofficial Firefox 8 compatible version (TenFourFox) that runs on PowerPC Macs with OS X 10.4.11 or OS X 10.5.8 you can look at:

  • Unable to play on line games. plugin was disabled with forefox 5. What do I do to fix this?

Not able to play on line games. Sites say plugin has been disabled. The only plugin disabled was Metastream 3 due to security by McAfee. What can I do to be able to play on line games?

Was that Plugin disabled by Firefox 5.0 due to "compatibility"? <br />
    Or by McAfee?
If McAfee has a problem with the "security" of that Plugin, it would best to ask them about that issue. <br />

  • RealDownloader stopped working with upgrade to FireFox 22

RealDownloader V 1.3.2.28 stopped working with my latest 'security' update to FireFox. FireFox is now V22
I tried reinstalled realplayer, realdownloader, disabling / enabling addons / plugins
Can't seem to make it work - when I mouse over a YouTube video as an example, the 'Download This Video' button from RealDownloader does not display. Works fine in Internet Explorer

    it's not compatible with firefox 23 either! C'mon, get it fixed! I don't want to switch to IE10 . . . but I really do miss my realdownloader . . .

  • Pfishing ?I was about to upgrade to Firefox 4 when I noticed that the file originated at some site in Czechoslovakia. This doesn't feel right. I cancelled immediately. Was I wrong?

My home PC obviously downloaded the file for later installation.
It looked like a Firefox file, but I came to install the file, the source was a name xxxxxxxxxxx.cz
    Does Mozilla originate in Czechoslovakia?

Mozilla uses servers all over the world for the downloads - http://www.mozilla.org/community/mirrors.html
